1481  Economy / Economics / Re: What's Next? After Bitcoin Passes The 60K Mark...... on: April 05, 2021, 04:58:44 PM
It has been a long wait. The ATH of 62K was achieved on 14th March. Almost 4 weeks have passed and we have been so far unable to breach that resistance of $60K once more. Actually it is surprising because of two factors. First of all, the altcoins have been going up like crazy. BNB is up by 38% during the last 7 days. XRP has gone up by 55% and TRX has increased by 113%. So why BTC is lagging behind? And secondly, a lot of Americans have already received their stimulus checks. I was expecting a major spike from the recipients purchasing BTC. But it hasn't happened as of yet.
1482  Economy / Economics / Re: The total value of the crypto currency market is near $2 trillion on: April 05, 2021, 04:47:58 PM
Bitcoin's capitalization makes up a large portion of the entire market, and every Bitcoin volatility affects the entire crypto market. The more cryptocurrencies are created the more crypto market capitalization increases. In the past year, DEFI has contributed significantly to the growth of the cryptocurrency market. I think crypto will soon enter real life and replace paper money. If the real world accepts cryptocurrencies even more, then I believe the overall market cap will increase faster.

Well.. Bitcoin still makes up more than half of the total market cap. But Bitcoin dominance has been decreasing for some time now. There has been a 12%-15% decrease during the last 6 months or so. Altcoins (especially ETH, LTC, ADA, BNB and DOT) were responsible for most of this decrease, but a notable contribution also came from stablecoins such as USDT, BUSD and USDC. And this is what makes me nervous. Some of the stablecoins seems to be no better than the fed, and they are printing money out of thin air.

^^^ If Moeen is so adamant about not wearing the SNJ 10000 logo, then he can be given the option of wearing the logo of other SNJ products, such as British Empire Premium Brown Sugar (SNJ conglomerate is one of the largest sugar producers in South India) or a logo of the hotels that are owned by the SNJ group (Hotel Anitha Towers and Hotel Nandini Palace). If Moeen still has a problem with these options, then his contract should be revised.
1484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can we see Altseason 2021 from mid april ? on: April 05, 2021, 01:48:17 PM
A lot of new users are converting their stimulus checks to cryptocurrency and large numbers of them are going for altcoins such as BNB, ADA and ETH. For me, this sounds similar to what happened in 2017. There was a lot of hype from the mainstream media and the altcoins got propped up much more than Bitcoin. And as a result of the inflow from the new users, the institutions have fallen behind. This is one of the reasons for the rising altcoin market share. But once the institutions are back, we will once again witness an increasing Bitcoin dominance.
1485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is still hot but Bitcoin Dominance is dropping. What does it tell? on: April 05, 2021, 01:38:08 PM
This is just a temporary phenomenon and IMO the Bitcoin dominance will be back to 60+ levels once the next round of institutional investment starts. Right now a lot of new users are investing their stimulus money in various altcoins such as Binance Coin and Cardano and that is causing an increase in their exchange rate, and thereby the market share. This phenomenon is not going to last for too long. At current levels, almost all of the altcoins are overpriced and it is not sustainable for an extended period of time.
1486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB still undervalue on: April 05, 2021, 01:28:07 PM
BNB which is a native coin of the Binanace exchange has really been doing very well, the coin has been pumping and with the look of things the current price is still undervalued. A $20 coin is now worth more than $300, the bull run is still strong and for sure we should expect more high prices from many coins, BNB has been one of my favorite coin ever since I noticed it's strong potentials and believe me the Binanace exchange will continue adding more features which Will be in the support of thier token and this will eventually continue pushing the price of the token.

The circulating supply is changing frequently, and I have a feeling that it will be much better to talk about the market cap than concentrating on the exchange rate. The current market capitalization stands at $57 billion. This might sound a bit overpriced, but in reality that is not the case. Binance to the cryptocurrency sector is what Telsa is to the EV sector. It is not the sole cryptocurrency exchange, but the other exchanges have fallen behind in terms of volumes and user base.
1487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao offered $10 million to fight Terence Crawford on: April 05, 2021, 01:18:23 PM
Same here, I love him as a figher but not as a politician with big ambition to become a president, and I think we are just speculating beacuse I never head that he announce he will run for presidency. No one could beat President Duterte as now he is the most popular person in the Philippines.

Why? Is his political track record that bad? If he wants to run for the president, then let him do it. Philippines is a democratic country and any adult citizen can run for the presidency. Here in India, we have a former tea seller as the prime minister (the presidential post is largely ceremonial). The fact that Manny is not a career politician should not be held against him. IMO, ordinary politicians are much better than career politicians.
1488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to sell my BTC? on: April 05, 2021, 12:51:35 PM
Sounds more like short term investment if you decide to cash out now. But, if you want to earn possibly about 10× what you have made, you can still hodl for long term. Because Bitcoin is recognized on a daily which keeps pushing it up. Anyways you story sounds Like a win win situation (irrespective of what move you make)

The most intelligent decision to do now would be to cash out at least a part of the holdings. Almost all the investors are holding on to their coins, hoping to receive much better returns in the next few months. If that is not going to happen, then there will be a mass dump and it will crash the prices. The correction phase may last for a few months or even years. If you have the capability to wait for 2-3 years, then you can hold on to your coins. If that is not the case, then it won't be a bad idea to sell some of the coins now.
1489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 05, 2021, 12:35:55 PM
No doubt Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman are good players but only two batsmen cannot win the match for you. Strangely in the Pakistani team, no other player is making runs and you cannot depend upon only two players to win the match for you single handedly.  If the rest of the batsmen don't perform well, don't expect much from the team.

Every team is nowadays dependent on 2-3 batsmen. Take the case of England. During their tour of India, they were overdependent on a few batsmen such as Roy, Bairstow and Stokes. Australia is overdependent on Smith and Labuschagne. If they could manage it, the dependence on a few players can be handled in an effective way. Yesterday, I though that the reason why Pakistan lost was that they sent Haris Rauf ahead of Mohammad Hasnain. Rauf made just 1 run from 5 balls, when the required run rate was close to 12 runs per over.

1491  Economy / Economics / Re: How the rich get richer and why it works on: April 04, 2021, 04:59:06 PM
Rich people know what to do with their money. Simple truth, isnt it? Ordinary people usually dont know how to multiple their capital

For the rich, there are multiple loopholes to avoid paying taxes. And most cases of loan default are done by the ultra-rich and not the poor or the middle-class. Both the left-wing and right-wing political parties are united when it comes to maintaining the status quo as far as the tax loopholes are concerned. The right-wing parties tend to decrease income tax, while the left-wing tend to increase them. But both these groups keep loopholes available to the rich, and in the end the rich will have a tax burden that is proportionately lower than what the middle-class is having.
1492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why WazirX token (WRX) is rising so hot? 123% in 12 hours (!) on: April 04, 2021, 04:37:04 PM
I see WRX as an exchange that CZ acquired in 2019 and it is clearly CZ's property. I think that the recent price increases of CZ's cryptocurrencies such as ALICE, CAKE, XVS, BUGGER, BNB ... all increase in price almost at the same time. I suspect cryptocurrencies are priced up by their owners.
WRX exchange exists in the Indian market and it has not had the same effect as Binance global so its recent price increase has been unusual.

I didn't knew that WazirX was owned by Binance/Changpeng Zhao. WazirX was originally founded by a bunch of Indian IT engineers (Nischal Shetty, Sameer Mhatre and Siddharth Menon). Anyway, this means that in case the Indian authorities try to ban cryptocurrency, then they can just move their operations to some foreign country with the help of Binance. Anyway, despite the talks of a possible ban the trade volumes seems to be going up like crazy.
1493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Risks of instituations holding bitcoin on: April 04, 2021, 02:04:57 PM
^ Yes, there could be a risk on the market price because they holding a big amount that anytime they will sell it at once and may have an impact on BTC price. Big investors like big institutions are considered as also whales but they don't have regularly playing the market, the most afraid is when they are all the same in the mind of selling their BTC. I don't know what will happen if most of them believe in FUD and do panic selling, BTC price will probably crashing out that causes a sudden dump. Nevertheless, in my mind thinking that it is impossible to happen, we are already in the middle in the mainstream, and BTC price keep growing.

The same can happen with large-scale individual investors who are holding large stash of Bitcoin. So why selectively point out the institutions? IMO, the bigger risk comes from individual investors. Institutional investors can afford to hold Bitcoin for 5 years or more. But that may not be the case with many of the individual investors. They may face financial difficulties and may need to liquidate their holdings in a short period of time. Therefore I would say that investment from institutions will help in reducing the volatility of Bitcoin.
1494  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: April 04, 2021, 01:52:58 PM
Oil prices will likely to increse after the virus gets under control, however the situation of my country as oil producer is fragile.
Our infrastructure is not prepared and our production has descended much, so private participation by companies like Shell, Chevron, and the Russian ones ect will increase.
We dont have the money to repair this ourselves.

I believe that the only option left for the Venezuelan government is to again go for privatizing the oil fields. The national oil producer is in bad condition and it is unable to operate in a profitable and effective manner. At least the government should allow investment from friendly countries such as Russia and China, so that they will repair the infrastructure and boost the oil production. The government will also benefit, in the form of increased tax revenue. But I don't know whether the socialist government will take a favorable view about privatization.
1495  Economy / Economics / Re: After 1 year of Covid 19 Virus on: April 04, 2021, 01:37:19 PM
Sadly, some countries are experiencing a new wave of infections with the most aggressive and camouflaged virus that shows no signs and that directly attacks the lungs. In my country, Venezuela, the new Brazilian variant P.1 arrived.
And if we have the President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro showing little concern from the beginning of the pandemic, the consequences are being felt, the WHO has declared an emergency in Latin America for the Brazilian variant P.1.

It's just a matter of time before this variant (P.1) spreads across the globe. Already it is being reported in most of the European and Asian countries, although the numbers are not very high. But give the contagious nature of this strain, it can spread like wildfire. Brazil should take the responsibility. They mismanaged the COVID 19 crisis and now the other countries have to pay the price. I don't know how that buffoon Bolsonaro still manages to cling to power in Brazil.
1496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: April 04, 2021, 01:25:24 PM
Turkey, Euro 2021 will also attend. There is this tournament before September. So even if it's okay for now, if there is another coronavirus outbreak during the tournament, it would be a disaster for all teams.I hope the pandemic will end as soon as possible. We missed watching football with pleasure.

I guess the players were not vaccinated? Many of the countries are vaccinating their sports personal, as they need to travel frequently. And the Turkish side had visited various countries for qualifying matches, and on top of that many of the players are taking part in EPL and some of the other premier football leagues across Europe (for example, Soyuncu was part of the Leicester City squad, and was given temporary leave to participate in the qualifiers).
1497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Joining OPEN] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 04, 2021, 01:13:13 PM
Only 6 days left and still we are only 6. I think everyone should consider joining if they have interest to join. Without having a decent number of participants it's hard getting a sponsor too. So please join without waiting for the last moment.

If I remember correctly, this happened during the last time as well. More than half of the participants joined at the last minute. But all this makes it really hard to get a decent sponsor. Last time, we had a very supportive sponsor and this time also I would be overjoyed if we get the same sponsor. And that said, with IPL being the largest franchise T20 league in the world right now, it will be a shame if we don't reach a good number of participants.
1498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what you worst experience on crypto on: April 04, 2021, 01:02:08 PM
3. Lost due to invest to scam ICO, thats why you need to choose and dio research about ICO.
There are a lot of people who lose money on scam ICOs, it was a really bad experience.
I also used to lose money with scam ICOs, after attracting the investor's money the ICO development team was gone and never came back.

I never lost any money in scam ICOs, but I participated in some of the bounty projects of these ICOs and never got my salary for the same. I spent a lot of time and effort in them, so it really hurts a lot. And there are thousands of users like me, who worked hard on various bounty projects, only to be scammed later. Anyway, I was fortunate to find a slot in one of the signature campaigns which makes the payment in Bitcoin.
1499  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-03-30 TheVerge - PayPal will let US users pay with Bitcoin on: April 04, 2021, 12:37:08 PM
PayPal is making more features available with their Bitcoin service. I believe that it is just a matter of time before they make Bitcoin services available for the global users and allow everyone to withdraw the Bitcoin that they purchased through PayPal to non-PayPal addresses. So far, I am happy with the support towards cryptocurrency from PayPal. It is a mutually beneficial relationship and those who criticized PayPal for this move (here in Bitcoitalk) should admit that they were wrong about it.
1500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will stablecoins replace Fiat currencies in the future? on: April 04, 2021, 12:25:07 PM
Cost to transfer USDT now: $20 at the very cheapest and slowest speed. Average is $40.

So the world's most popular stablecoin, and many other less stablecoins all using Ethereum will cost you that much.

How can it replace fiat currencies which are mainly free to transfer to each other (except cross border).

I support crypto but it's not yet ready.

ROFLMAO.. and people are talking about USDT replacing fiat currency. To replace one asset with other, the latter should be having a lot of advantages and merits compared to the former. If we compare fiat currency with stablecoins, I don't think that this holds true. I would even say that stablecoins such as USDT are inferior to fiat currency. In case of USDT, I can't trust the exchange which creates this token (Bitfinex), as they have been accused of fraud using the reserve funds of USDT.
