2482  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exchanges - How many people have access to Cold storage Private keys? on: April 02, 2022, 11:53:34 PM
The private keys for cold wallets must not be in one single man's hands for security and safety reasons. Here is an example why it's not recommended:
A crypto exchange may have lost $145 million after its CEO suddenly died
A multi-sig set up is a must so no one (even the exchange owner) can run away with the customers funds and if one of the private keys get compromized the funds remain safe.

Exchanges are not wallets and no one should use them to store his coins, not even for a short period of time.
2483  Economy / Exchanges / Re: I am worried about SCAM. I am newbie and opinions. BTCSquare.com vs .net on: April 02, 2022, 11:22:50 PM
When I try to withdraw it says the running bill is insufficient.
Do they have a minimum withdraw limit? Do they charge fees on withdrawals? One of these is usually the reason why you would get a not-enough-balance error message (in case the service is legit).
If your balance is higher than their minimum limit and you have enough to pay for the fees and they are asking you to deposit more, then this is definitely a scam. Do not send them any more money!
2484  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake charging $3.09 on a $1.69 withdraw on: April 02, 2022, 10:28:53 PM
BTC is just not okay for gambling anymore, it is too slow and too expensive and totally useless, stablecoins are the way for me.
Sorry, but I don't agree with this especially saying that using bitcoin is useless! There are many solutions and workarounds to all the issues you mentioned such as accepting instant deposits, batching withdrawal transactions, using the lightning network... But, unfortunately, many crypto businesses are too lazy or incompetent to implement them.
Besides, for the past few months, most of the time 1-5 sat/vb is enough for a fast confirmation.
For more than three years I didn't use any cryptocurrency other than bitcoin and I can't complain.
2485  Other / Meta / Re: An attempt was made to steal my password on: April 02, 2022, 09:29:42 PM
I wonder how these scammers come up with the clone sites. They do spend some money on all this stuff in order to gain access to people's accounts???
No, not really. You can buy a .com domain name for as low as $0.99 on the black friday sales for example and you can host the phishing page locally or on a free web hosting service. So, it's not really that costly.
Scammers add sub domains that look almost like the legit domain to fool the visitor. Something like this:
Code:
https://legit-domain.xyz.phishing-domain.com

Quote
As per the above post, this person has sent messages to other users also, is there anyone who got affected by sending the password?
Not sure if anyone got phished but having a stacked address will help you recover your account if it gets hacked.
2486  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin-instant credit?? on: April 02, 2022, 08:41:49 PM
I don't think there is a gambling site that has  Bitcoin instant credit since it is prone to exploitation especially if your wallet has a replaced by fee feature like Electrum wallet. Most of them needs 1 confirmation which is around 5-10 minutes for higher fee.
Yes this feature is risky but there are few measures that the casino can take to mitigate such risk.
I already named two casinos which accept instant deposits (roobet.com and livecasino.io). I named only these two because I tried them myself. Other members named other casinos which have this feature too. I didn't try them but I have no reason not to believe them.
The double spending risk can be easily mitigated by crediting only transactions that don't have the rbf flag.
2487  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Always go through CMC when trying to find info about a project, avoid fake links on: April 02, 2022, 08:02:06 PM
I won't lie, when I was new to cryptocurrencies and didn't know much about it, coinmarketcap was the first website I visit if I needed some information about a coin or a token such ad its official website or on which exchanges it's listed. I used to use blockchain.info as my main wallet too!

But it didn't take me long to realize that they are not that reliable and there are better alternatives especially after their stupid April fools' prank when they listed a fake token (toilet paper) as #1 which got exploited by some scam exchanges and resulted in many users losing their money. I don't think I ever visited their website since they got acquired by binance.
2488  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀Moonbet Crypto Sportsbook & Casino | 💸Instant $250 Deposit Bonus on: April 02, 2022, 06:56:12 PM
I thought their deposit bonus as posted in the ANN was too good to be true until I saw their post about the rollover requirements. So a player have to bet a maximum of $7,500 before he could withdraw the $250 welcome bonus. Did I get that right?
...
I think Moonbet's team has made this decision after considering all aspects which will be beneficial for them. So I'll wait for the next campaign maybe they will offer something more.
To be honest, the 15 times wagering requirement imposed by moonbet is not that high. Many other casinos have a 30-40x rollover before you can withdraw your winnings from bonuses. So it's not really that bad.
Of course, the more you play the more you are likely to lose but it's free money after all and even if you lose it all that's not a big deal. Aside from that, it can help reduce bonuses abuse.
2489  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀Moonbet Crypto Sportsbook & Casino | 💸Instant $250 Deposit Bonus on: April 02, 2022, 05:27:02 PM
Welcome back Moonbet!
The Deposit Bonus is 100% up to $250. So, if you bet $50 you will receive $50 in bonus funds. If you put $1000, you will receive $250 as that is the maxiumum.

You can withdraw without KYC guaranteed until at least 2000Euros with of money has been deposits in order to satisfy requirement for our license. But, let's say you deposit $100, get the $100 bonus and turn it into $2000, you do NOT need KYC to withdraw your funds.
Thank you for all the clarifications. The 100% deposit bonus seems really tempting especially with the only 15x wagering requirement. I'll definitely give it a try.
***Must bet 100% of your original stake in order to withdraw your original stake.
So after finishing the bonus 15x wagering, we have to wager 1x time the deposited amount then we can withdraw the whole balance, right!

btw, avoid making consecutive posts in a row. it's against forum rules and may result in temp-ban if you keep doing it. Instead of replying to each user individually, merge all your replies in one post.
2490  Economy / Gambling / Re: how to choose best Gambling website for Gambling ? on: April 02, 2022, 04:33:05 PM
Another thing OP, since you are new to gambling, as you said, you don't have to understand all those advanced terms especially if you are not going to place a really big number of bets or make high amount wagers. If you are gambling for fun then a basic understanding of what rtp or he mean is more than enough. A small gambler, in most cases, won't notice the difference between two platforms that have different rtp or house edge.
My advice is to find a reputable and easy to use casino which offer your favorite games. Make sure to carefully read their ToS before creating an account and making a deposit.
2491  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake charging $3.09 on a $1.69 withdraw on: April 02, 2022, 03:13:20 PM
I will much rather deposit a coin with much lower withdrawal fees (like TRX) and then when I win, withdraw in TRX.

Stake is charging a Premium fee on Bitcoin (BTC) withdrawals because the miners fees can be very high some times. I think it is wise to charge a little higher fees on Blockchains with a higher miner fee, so that you can collect a bigger fund when you deal with transactions with high inputs.
Yes, using a different cryptocurrency which has lieer transaction fees is the best thing to do, whenever possible. The only drawback is that this is not always an option either because the customer doesn't have any coins in his wallet other than bitcoin or because the casino does not have an internal exchange so you can withdraw only in the same cryptocurrency you used to deposit.
2492  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♦️Coinslotty.com | Up to 20% Cashbacks | Crypto casino | Multi currency wallet♠ on: April 02, 2022, 02:14:46 PM
Play absolutely legally at CoinSlotty!
Do you have gambling license? I may have missed it but upon checking your website I don't see any information about your license.
This is all I could find on their website:
The safety of players is guaranteed by the presence of a license.
This is not how it works. If you have a license, you have to display its information so your customers can check its validity. Besides, claiming  they are licensed and, at the same time, they don't ask for users personal data is a bit contradictory.

OP, on the payments page, it says that deposits are instant, does that mean you accept zero-confirmation transactions for bitcoin?
2493  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.2.0 not supporting Windows 7 on: April 02, 2022, 12:05:11 PM
...
This is true for desktop versions but as nc50lc pointed out I was talking about the mobile version. As I said, the problem is caused by Password unification which for some reason was implemented on the mobile versions only.
* Password unification (Android only):...
In fact, this is not really a problem or a bug but this exactly how it's supposed to work (for safety reasons, you have to enter the password to confirm you know it first since it will be used to encrypt any new wallet you create).
2494  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How secure are my funds Trust wallet? on: April 01, 2022, 11:59:12 PM
Thank you for the update CryptoPanda, but does anyone knows why trustwallet was removed from Apple app store in first place?

edit: I made a quick research and found this: DApp Browser Removal on iOS version of Trust Wallet
It looks like trustwallet had to remove the dapp browser from their iOS version in order to comply with the app sore guidelines!
The Dapp browser is no longer available on newer versions of trustwallet for iOS.
2495  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: LTC CASINO FLAG on: April 01, 2022, 11:32:42 PM
This deposits are only for the first account and one can see opening date and cooling off date too, to actually put every single transactions s going to be looooong!!
You don't have to post all the transactions you made. Just post the information that you think are relevant and can serve as evidence to support your claim.
As I can see the flag is still inactive and no one has supported it. I believe all who are aware of this accusation are still waiting for ltc casino reply and for their final decision.
I hope this issue will be resolved asap.
2496  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Sites on: April 01, 2022, 10:52:43 PM
Another thing is to know good gambling sites to register, although I have registered some but I have not deposited to start the games because I want to observe the sites small before going into full business. Some of the casino games are played with only crypto currency and I do not have Bitcoin in my wallet. And I also don't even Know how to deposit fund from my wallet to another wallet. And also the ones that accept fiat currencies, my fiat currency is not listed among.
Please edit your reply and fix the quotes. When I read it, I got confused and had to read it again to figure out who was replying to whom.

You have slow internet connection, you don't know how to make a crypto transaction, you don't have bitcoin right now... Sorry OP but I don't think online gambling is suitable for you. At least not for the moment.
What you can do is to find a casino that works fine with your slow internet and play on the demo mode till you figure out how every thing works and become ready to gamble with real money.
2497  Economy / Gambling / Re: how to choose best Gambling website for Gambling ? on: April 01, 2022, 09:56:57 PM
RTP is commonly in casino and almost all of the online gambling sites has the same game providers and has the same RTP too.
Although almost all casinos have the same game providers, the RTP may change from one casino to another even for the same game from the same provider.
Here is a post made by winz.io that confirms that the casino can adjust the RTP settings:
Casinos can indeed adjust RTP setting for many of game producers. We keep it on average at 96% and we display that info on the website.
...
You can read the full post to get an idea about all the possible settings for different providers. For Playngo, fir example, the rtp may vary from 84% to 99%. There is a huge difference between playing a game on a platform which offer 99% return to player and playing it on another platform with only 84%. This is why most casinos hide this information.
2498  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.2.0 not supporting Windows 7 on: April 01, 2022, 08:32:06 PM
i can't find an explanation why the feature of creating a new seed doesn't work anymore. It's not a big issue though and i can use my old seed in another device with an updated version but i am looking for an explanation why/how this could happen.
It works, but you have to open one of your old wallets and enter your password first.
After opening your wallet, you can create a new one and generate a new seed by tapping on the three vertical dots -> wallets -> new.

In older versions it was possible to create a new wallet right after starting the app even if you have existing wallets. But this is no longer possible since version 4.1.0 due to the implementation of the Password unification feature.
2499  Other / Meta / Re: An attempt was made to steal my password on: April 01, 2022, 07:53:10 PM
The message looked normal as i checked the domain name was also correct, so i clicked the link and the following page opened.
That's because the "link" you saw is not really a link, it's anchor text. To see the real address where you will be redirected, you can hover over the link and the address will appear on the status bar (desktop browsers). Or just quote the PM/post. In your case, it will look like this:
Code:
[url=phishing-website.com]legit-website.com[/url]

Quote
I think this is a new way of scammers to get hold on our passwords. Also only clicking the link ( as i did) would cause no harm if we do not enter the password?
This is not really new. Many other members reported receiving similar phishing messages.
2500  Other / Beginners & Help / Re:FIFY: How to use an image as a link on: April 01, 2022, 03:11:25 PM
I agree with the replies above. I know this was not your intention from creating this thread, OP. But the topic title is misleading.
Embedding a video means that you can play and watch the video on the post itself without being redirected to another website. This forum does not support this feature, probably for security reasons.
And to be honest, I don't think we need such feature in a discussion forum. If you want to refer to a video, just post its link.
hugeblack's suggestion is probably the best if you want to add animated content. If the video is really short, just convert it to gif format and upload it as an image.
