2521  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I the only one who does this? on: April 17, 2014, 11:06:49 AM
Nope, you're not the only one. I've never done that with my BTC address but for lot of other things, yes.
2522  Other / Off-topic / Re: Make your own survival kit with Bitcoin on: April 17, 2014, 11:03:19 AM
Are you ready for Apocalypse?  Cheesy

http://cointelegraph.com/post/make_your_own_survival_kit_with_bitcoin#.U050A_l_tqU

By the way, what are your plans if it happened?

Depends on what kind of Apocalypse it is.

If it is Zombie attack, I'll sell all my BTC
If it is Aliens, I'll sell all my BTC
If it is a Comet, I'll sell all my BTC
If it is ...   what-da-fuck-am-I-doin'?
2523  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: I've found a block with one AntMiner S1 in 7 days only!!! on: April 17, 2014, 10:59:33 AM
After reading the title, I was hoping the OP found a block SOLO MINING on his antminer. Now that would have been incredible, to have your S1 producing 25 BTC in a few weeks.

But no, you're pool-mining and in a pool, someone somewhere always finds a block, this time it was you. But no donut for you, since the reward splits for everyone on the pool.

Back to work, guys!

Does 1 RUP mean 1 Indian Rupee? Can I trade? Tongue
2525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What three altcoins do you have the majority of your money in? on: April 17, 2014, 10:50:29 AM
I had accumulated some DRK, BTCS and MINT.
Now I'm thinking of getting some BTE too.
2526  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptsy - the new Mt. Gox! Shut Down? Hacked? Never Seen Before!! on: April 17, 2014, 08:13:28 AM
I also started to panic when I placed sell orders for multiple alt-coins a few hours back. All alt-coins gone from my balances but not BTC deposited and the 'Open Orders' tab was blank! I thought FML all my coins are gone and I'll have to go through a whole life with Cryptsy support to get everything abck in place, but everything looks sorted out by itself.
2527  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best book you ever had? on: April 17, 2014, 07:56:26 AM
I've read many but I like Ayn Rand's "Fountainhead" and "Atlas Shrugged" the most
2528  Bitcoin / Press / [2014-04-17] Linguistic Researchers Name Nick Szabo as Bitcoin WhitePaper Author on: April 17, 2014, 07:35:36 AM
Quote
A group of forensic linguistics experts from Aston University believe the real creator of bitcoin is former law professor Nick Szabo.

This is not the first time Szabo has been outed as the ‘real’ Satoshi Nakamoto. Last December researcher Skye Grey analyzed the now infamous bitcoin whitepaper and came to the same conclusion.

Just put the word pause at the bottom of your batch file.  Easier to do temporarily and it'll pause the window for you to see the error message.  Navigating to Windows directories via the command prompt can be a real pain depending upon the names.

When I double click the CGminer launcher it opens and closes so fast I can't see where the error is in the bat file.

Instead of double-clicking the batch file, open a command prompt (cmd) and navigate to the batch file and run it. It will keep the window open so that you can read the error messages.

For example, navigate to D:\Some Folder\Miners\cgminer-3.7.2
Then write myfile.bat (whatever your batch file name is)

Didn't know that, thanks for the tip! Smiley

2532  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-04-14] Amazon Exec Says Company Decided Against Accepting Bitcoin on: April 16, 2014, 07:39:59 AM
"we’re not hearing from customers that it’s right for them" -Amazon

BULLSHIT. Who hasn't asked Amazon to accept BTC? Wasn't there even at least one petition?

ETA: http://www.change.org/petitions/amazon-com-amazon-com-accept-bitcoin

I just signed Tongue  Smiley
for them perhaps losing 3000 customers is nothing ... but maybe our vote will change it one day.

Thanks for sharing, I also signed.
It will receive way more than 3000 votes. Aiming for 3000 is aiming low.
2533  Other / Off-topic / Re: Father Let Son Die While He Played Online Games on: April 16, 2014, 07:34:12 AM
Saying he is irresponsible would be an understatement. I wonder how he even managed to get married. He was jobless and his wife was working her ass off in a factory. The least he could do was save the money he was spending on games and take care of the kid while his wife was working.

If I was the owner of the cyber cafe, I would not let him enter my cafe after reading this news.
2534  Other / Off-topic / Re: Father Let Son Die While He Played Online Games on: April 16, 2014, 03:59:39 AM
yeah agree,

btw, according to this article he didn't leave his child to die but suffocated him so he can go back to game http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2605243/Korean-gaming-addict-suffocated-infant-son-leave-house-playing-online-games-hours-internet-cafe.html

NOW I don't have a doubt; he should have a death penalty, period.
2535  Other / Off-topic / Re: What torrent program do you use? on: April 15, 2014, 11:48:29 AM
uTorrent, for obvious reasons. A (very) tiny BitTorrent client.

But I must say it has been a bloatware since a last few releases; tries to install 3rd party tools when you install free version. And pushes you to buy the 'Plus' version every now-and-then.  I mean, REALLY? Who the fcuk wants a PAID version of a torrent client?
2536  Other / Off-topic / Re: Father Let Son Die While He Played Online Games on: April 15, 2014, 09:14:36 AM
My eyes really got wet when I imagined the kid's condition when the two-year-old was alone at home for 2-3 DAYS. How would he manage going to sleep, eat or even poop?

Pretty depressing.
2537  Other / Off-topic / Father Let Son Die While He Played Online Games on: April 15, 2014, 08:24:34 AM
Tragic news out of South Korea.

Quote
He would only check in on his two year-old every two or three days, feeding the child and then leaving to head off to another PC bang (net cafe)

On March 7, Chung allegedly found his son dead. He finally disposed of the body in a trash bag and continued going to net cafes and playing PC games.

Now who says Games don't kill people?
2538  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: April 15, 2014, 07:22:24 AM
Anyone here can tell me if Cloud Atlas is any good. I wanted to see that movie for a long time but I heard some mixed opinions. Anyone seen it?

A lot confusing. I watched it only once, didn't understand much of the part. Did not attempt again. But someone said the movie is less confusing than the book, so I wonder how the book goes Tongue

Maybe a critic's choice but I'd not hit it twice.
2539  Other / Off-topic / Re: It starts in ~3 minutes!!! on: April 15, 2014, 07:14:22 AM
I did not get to see it the trees blocked my view.  The sky turned a bit red though over them.  It is too bad I was the only one awake.
Did anyone get pictures?

I think it was being broadcast live on a couple of sites. You can find it on YouTube I guess
2540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Fibonacci SCRYPT ASIC Litecoin LTC Miners - Community Driven on: April 15, 2014, 07:12:26 AM
A quote from their XMH purchase page:

Quote
All miners are sold as mining shares. Each purchased unit is worth 3.46 MHS of scrypt mining

So I believe each XMH is 3.46 MH/s
