I wouldn't say blind or deaf, I'd say they aren't historically literate though. I don't think there is any doubt that Jesus did exist, he was very much a person. The question is whether or not he was the son of god.
Serious question though, what makes Christianity more valid than say, Islam? I mean, all of the major world religions share a lot of similarities, so all of the arguements used to prove the existance of a Christian god, can also be used to prove the existance of many other gods.

An intelligent person would be able to do a far better job of it.
Did you suspect Trance of being Satoshi? If not, mission accomplished.

What if OP is actually Satoshi, and playing stupid to throw everyone off of his trail?

Maybe it's not polite of me to ask, but... Is this a successful business? I mean, can you make a living from it?
This business started out just for fun because I like networking/escargot, but has actually turned out to have a pretty good demand! Hell last week Vogue magazine (parent company owns reddit) contacted me for snails for a photo shoot! Unfortunately, they found a local person with some Helix aspersa in hand. It has been cool to see how much has happened in the sites 1.5 month life. I run several other online business, up 100% in the USA stock market YTD and I have some BTC saved back. This is just my fuck around fun business I only ship on Mondays/Tuesdays and take orders 24/7. But by having so many "diverse" businesses, you are able to offer incentives that other businesses are not able to, for example, buy one handgun get two snails free! Or buy 10 snails, get some rolling papers half off.

I don't trust my monies to banks, and this just supports my point, you don't have money, unless its in your physical possession. I only deal in cash, metals, and Bitcoins. I've got no money directly in Paypal, although I do use it for Ebay sometimes (nothing else) and just enough in a checking account so that I can use a debit card to buy stuff through Paypal on Ebay.
I stopped using my bank for near everything a while ago, when I withdrew $ from BTC-E to my paypal account, and then to my bank, and my bank temporarily froze both my Paypal and Bank account, because of the odd $500 transaction.

I've got somewhere between 6.5 and 7 BTC left to sell. I've got it spread out between BTC, LTC, and USD which is why I'm not entirely sure the amount.

Just received my coins Very well packed and coins are as advertised. Thanx for a great transaction SaltySpitoon! To bad the local postage company made an error on the customs form. They declare it's one item even tho Salty clearly stated on the package that there are 3 coins in the package. Resulting in me having to pay tax over all coins in stead of just one. Sorry to hear that. I do what I can to get around VATs or at the very least minimize them, but sometimes the tax man just wants his dues.

I don't think it is a right thing to ban people just because they say something really stupid unless and until they take to personal insults (though you would usually expect them to)
Bans really aren't given out lightly. You would have to say hundreds of stupid things, and make more than a few personal insults, of which you would recieve warning, so it wouln't be a surprise before you get banned. Posting Malware and such however is a good way to get banned.

So you would advise I go by this forum "trust" rating, and send someone $8000USD for a Jupiter miner based on that. I'd like to know if the person I am buying from is located in Nigeria, have you ever called someone in Nigeria? I have.. numerous times, pretty easy to tell it's not the deal you want to make at that point. I've called scammers all over the world, not going to give away too much information about that, but basically with a phone call I can tell you if I'm comfortable or not with a purchase.
Maybe the Nigerians have not discovered this forum yet, when they do.. I have a feeling everyone's process of purchase will change.
I've purchased stuff from Africa before. What legal discourse would you have if they scammed you out of $8000 even if you had their phone number and information? My version of trustworthiness, has to do with self interest. If someone is making $10000 per week operating a business, or doing escrow deals, chances are that they would not give up that regular income to scam you out of $8000. Cue escrow service plug?
Nah, I only do escrow when people approach me first. Its a lot of work, and it can be pretty nerve racking when someone's $20,000 Miner legitimately goes missing in the mail.

INSANE business practice, "I won't give them any of my information, they have to trust me". What are you hiding? No thanks, anyone not willing to give me basic information about who they are is not going to get my money for any items.
Look at the "SCAM" category of this forum. FULL of complaints.
I can't believe anyone would be so naive as to make a purchase in this manner.
One thing that you won't see in the scam accusation is, "I used Escrow."

If you have someone's phone number, what is that going to do for you? Pirateat40 nabbed 1 Million Bitcoins, and his address, name, phone number, etc was all known information. Had he not been busted by the Gov for being involved in a ponzi, nothing else would have happened. If you threaten someone who has taken your internet funny money, you are the criminal. I'm not sure what suing would do, I know a while ago Bitcoin wasn't considered money nor a commodity, so you couldn't sue over it. Not sure about now. I'm sure it has some legal process now, but I'm not sure what would come out of it.
I wouldn't share my information with anyone I don't trust personally either, like others have said, the internet is a funny place, and the general Bitcoin userbase tends to be people you don't really want hassling you.

Only 3 Bitcoins? You could have mined that in a week with a single 6950 in 2012! And now you can use it to buy a 20 Lb brass horn? Why wouldn't you buy this?

May have to order more and send them to Mush.

Yeah, I personally think that the Bitcoin Foundation is a horrible idea. Rather than self assigning a group of people to represent a community that doesn't want to be represented, and making yourselves a huge legal target, its a good idea to have one. I don't see why we don't just have reputable business owners and lead developers independantly speaking about Bitcoin?
I'm confused as to how the Bitcoin Foundation can even say that they represent the Bitcoin community, when truthfully there is no more a Bitcoin community than a fiat community.

I just use the default list. Although, I don't really care much about who is on the list. Before I do any trades, I check that person's feedback to see just who gave them positive feedback. If I don't personally trust them, I don't value their positive trust all that highly.
Who do I trust? People who have more to lose than they do to gain by scamming.

Thanks very much for your detailed reply Salty, it is greatly appreciated. Yes, I think you are probably right, discretion is the better part of valor when it comes to exporting to Australia and I wouldn't want you or me to transgress and fall foul of any rules. It's just not worth it for a few pieces of silver and the imposition of customs or other levies would negate any value (and probably negate the joy) of receiving the 'foreign silver'. Interesting you mention APMEX, I just signed up for an account with them the other day and yesterday received a "$10 off first order" coupon code by email. Maybe it's just a generic introductory offer, however they're aware I'm in Australia from the account sign-up, so I'll need to log into the site and see what the shipping situation is as I didn't actually check. As you comment though, it might be one thing for a large business to send to Australia and quite another for an individual. If I find anything interesting or discover a legitimate way where it might be possible and practical to enable you to send me some of your goodies, I'll let you know. In the meantime, thanks for putting your coins up on this thread, I have to say it's very interesting to see what you have available and apart from the one ounce coins I mentioned above, I also find myself being drawn to that one and a half ounce Polar Bear Thanks again and good luck with the restocking. That would be great, thanks. I too am a fan of the Polar Bears. When they came out, I tried ordering a roll, but Canada was being a jerk, and somehow managed to only allow them to be sold within Canada. APMEX and other online dealers had them, however they would only ship to Canada. The Royal Canadian Mint, would only ship them to Canada, there was no pay a ludacris amount for shipping and handling, it was just impossible to buy them outside of Canada. I'm not sure if that is no longer in effect, or if my dealer smuggled them in from Canada, however they are very nice pieces that are pretty uncommon and without a rediculous premium. I'm trying to get my hands on another roll, but I see in the future that those coins may hold some rediculous collector's premium because they were impossible to get from the beginning if you weren't in Canada, and because they are the first piece of their 1.5 Oz series. I don't believe the second has come out yet.

Hi Salty
Any idea when your webshop will be open?
I've got everything registered, just brushing up on dreamweaver so I can create the site itself. I'm also thinking about what sort of payment processor to use. But my guess would be somewhat shortly.

Thats about fair price. They seem to be going for about 2.5 BTC, roughly $1000 at $400 per BTC. And I'm sure people pay a cash premium.
