2541  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: -- Butterfly Labs New 600GH "Mining Card" - RED FLAGS?!?! on: January 20, 2014, 01:52:06 AM
We highly encourage you to seek out our competition and inflict yourself upon them at your earliest opportunity.

Let me help you with that.

BFL: 230 GH/s for $4255, may ship soon, $18.5 per GH/s.
Bitmain: 180 GH/s for $1586 (1.9 btc @ $835), ships within days, $8.8 per GH/s.

Winner by a huge margin, Bitmain.
2542  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: January 20, 2014, 01:45:06 AM
You mean discounting the fact that Hashfast is less late than KnC is at the moment?  KnC promised summer delivery and didn't ship until the middle of October.

KnC: Summer ended Sept 21, delivered mid Oct. Lets say 3 weeks late.
HashFast: "Ships Oct 20-30", still hasn't delivered mid January. Lets say 3 months late and counting.

"Hashfast is less late than KnC is." Wow. No wonder BFL is always late. You don't understand the difference between days, weeks, and months!
2543  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: -- Butterfly Labs New 600GH "Mining Card" - RED FLAGS?!?! on: January 19, 2014, 10:19:54 PM
I wonder where Darren "Bicknellski" Bicknells promised hardware is?  He promised to deliver it in December and here it is January and nothing... yep, certainly the guy I would take advice from.

Let's see how well you can run a company.

F rating, 121 customer complaints. Impressive results!

Still on track to deliver in October, November, December, January?
2544  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales NEW STOCK ***NOW SHIPPING*** on: January 19, 2014, 10:09:08 PM
+1. when the price drop happened, it was enough for me to justify a small purchase. however, they need to come down another 20% before I go out and buy full rigs.

Bitmains are well under $9/gh. I think these need a 30% price drop now.
2545  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: January 19, 2014, 05:16:07 PM
Ya?  A shill for what company? NONE OF THEM ARE DELIVERING!!!!!!

Bitfury and Bitmain are in-stock and delivering very fast.
2546  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: -- Butterfly Labs New 600GH "Mining Card" - RED FLAGS?!?! on: January 18, 2014, 08:45:42 PM
The proof will be in March/April or is it May/June... remember no refunds or real timelines we have to stick to here because it is all just an ESTIMATE. My prediction here they fail to find an EASY solution for cooling it and 600 gh/s is just a dream. Got those chips packaged yet? Tested? Binned? Working PCB? No? Good luck waiting for this to drop it is going to take a lot longer than Slok or Inaba figures. It is already 3 months late.
3 months?

Yup, from October to January is already 3 months, and they don't have a working chip yet. They'll be much later than 3 months before they ship anything.

2548  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: January 18, 2014, 01:05:04 AM
Except... there was no "Two more weeks" updates.  That is a meme that has no basis in fact... go on, try to find evidence.  You can't.  I said "Umm, two weeks?" once in response to FCC certification.  That's it.

What's this?

I said I estimated it would be finished by September. We are close and will probably miss that estimation by... TWO WEEKS!

Oh, look, another "two weeks" estimate. There's a plethora of them out there.
2549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 17, 2014, 08:55:43 PM
Neptunes are still very much in the preliminary design phase.

Ugh. This statement does not inspire confidence for shipping Neptunes by end of Q1 Sad

Q1 was never a possibility. Ever.
2550  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: January 17, 2014, 05:44:00 PM
Gulp! You may have a point, Josh.

No, he doesn't. The huge problem with Hashfast is they are sending forced USD refund checks to customers who did not request a refund, but they were promised BTC refunds. It is wrong is so many ways.
2551  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: January 17, 2014, 04:04:59 AM
Everyone that gets a 1.2 miner will more that double their investment (and that's at current pricing).

Keep dreaming.
2552  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: -- Butterfly Labs New 600GH "Mining Card" - RED FLAGS?!?! on: January 16, 2014, 05:20:21 PM
Went in yesterday to BFL and they said they should be shipping by beginning of Feb.  I guess we will see.

Did they say, "Honest Abe!"?
2553  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: January 16, 2014, 05:18:05 PM
Dude that's not cool. K, you were right. But don't rub it in. Clenell, I feel for you too. Honestly I think the best way to get a miner is on eBay. Preorders are so unnatural, unethical, and uncalled for. Nobody should sell a product that they do not have in stock.

There are several vendors that are selling from stock, Bitfury and Bitmain to name two good ones.
2554  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: January 16, 2014, 02:54:05 AM
They didn't leave it running.

Yeah, why? Overheated? Chip fried? Hashing failed? Caps blew?

Though it doesn't look like problems— it looks like they ran it there just for the demo.

http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1CTtm4iiwqt35Rgew1DQW6YoSwN4bKNopf

For a device that needs to run 24/7/365, the fact that they only had it running for mere minutes on Eligius is highly troubling.
2555  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WHAT! :( Butterfly Lads won't deliver the Monarch Till March or April:( on: January 15, 2014, 11:56:25 PM
The BFL 300GH/s Monarch is $1,497 for the March batch not $2,800. So that's $5 per GH/s.

https://products.butterflylabs.com/homepage-new-products/300-gh-bitcoin-mining-card.html

The Dec->Feb batch was $2,800

LOL. "March batch". ROFLMAO. No order placed with BFL now is going to be delivered in March.
2556  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: January 15, 2014, 11:44:08 PM
It's very strange that no one has been able to product the working stats page from Eligius. This is a strong indication that there are problems and they are unable to leave the unit running.
2557  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Newbie guide to ASIC vendors on: January 15, 2014, 11:41:16 PM
That's the reason I asked it. This is actually a good newbie thread. They can see why people have the reaction that they do. Questions about actual products are ignored, but personal attacks are engaged with fervor. If I were looking to invest in a company's products would I invest in a company who's C-Level executives act in such a manner? Probably not.

And in the interest of full disclosure for the newbies, we need to point at that Inaba is actually a senior level executive at BFL that posts under a pseudonym rather than his official Bitcointalk account so that he can try to avoid linking his vitriol with the official company name and continue to shill for them. BFL is the same company that is chronically late with all their product releases.
2558  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WHAT! :( Butterfly Lads won't deliver the Monarch Till March or April:( on: January 15, 2014, 11:34:02 PM
So... 300 GH/s at $2800 delivered in Mid March or most likely a lot later for anyone ordering today at the cheaper price?

That is over $9 gh/s for the card not including psu, casing, hosting and our favorite EXPEDITED shipping, in Mid March if you were first to order or "upgraded".

Let's see, $9/GH for something delivered several months from now, or $10/GH (Bitmain) delivered next week. I don't like calling people names, but you'd have to be a blooming idiot to order from BFL!
2559  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales NEW STOCK ***NOW SHIPPING*** on: January 15, 2014, 05:07:54 PM
Bitmain just dropped their prices to 2.2 BTC for 180 GH/s. Dave, don't let them get away with all the orders. Time to drop the prices again!
2560  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Newbie guide to ASIC vendors on: January 15, 2014, 04:44:30 AM
Really?  8 days late?  You received your order last summer?  It was my understanding they shipped in October and promised shipping in summer... amazing that you were the only person to receive their unit sometime last summer while everyone else had to wait until October.  You must have quite an "in" over there in KnC land.

Yes, KnC was a several days late, but delivered extra hashrate. How much extra hashrate are Monarchs going to have that are will be several months late?
