RIP for the guy. Another death for boxing, another day of mourning. What could be possible changes in boxing to avoid future casualties? Boxing is a sport for the warriors though. These guys know that death is always in play once they enter the ring either for a real fight or a sparring session.
I don't think we can avoid it, boxing organization is doing everything they can prior to the fight, test and everything to see how healthy the boxer is. Maybe reducing the rounds again? but it won't be as competitive. It's inevitable, there will be always some cases like that every once in a while. In the world of combat sports, the risk is always there and safety is not guaranteed, they may try to reduce the risks but they cannot take that factor away. Promoters, organizers, and fighters/boxer know that fact but they still chose to move forward because of the reward that they could get every fight. Well, there are indeed some risks but they are willing to take that as it could get their lives more comfortable if in case they will finish the fight successfully and we cannot really blame them for that. They are knowledgeable enough to know what they get themselves into, and in simple words, not all are born to be a boxer. Reducing rounds is not that reasonable as it will make the fight uninteresting, there's a reason why boxing have 12 rounds while UFC have 3 rounds. |

Jake paul indeed has improved well after several fights but it doesn't mean he is good compared to someone who has a lot of experience with great record and also in his prime. Anderson Silva is a veteran but every veteran have their time sooner or later. A veteran that has enough experience or skills have a chance to win against a veteran that is older for more than 10 years which the younger one have more stamina and more except experience like the veterans have.
That's the pros for being a veteran, the experience but it's true that his speed and strength lessens over time as he becomes older. While for Jake, even if he's not that type of the pro but still he's got some experience too but not enough although he's got more flexibility and stamina than Anderson. Well, the majority is going with Anderson Silva because we all believe that experience matters and he's got a lot of it and toughness has been built on him despite his age. Yes, Anderson Silva is still a threat even if he's already old enough and note this is not his first fight in the ring as he also had his own share of experience when it comes boxing and came out as a winner as well. While Jake is not that quite agile and his defense is easy to crack, I have no doubt that Silva will just play some games on him. Who is the coward of these two boxers? I am hearing this talks about they will face each other but we are now in 2022 and nothing has changed but all hype. If I could remember, Terrence Crawford was the undisputed champ at 140 and there were talks already about him and Errol Spence facing each other. We even believed that the fight did not materialize because of different promoters. But now Terrence Crawford as no promoter but there is no deal happening. Everyone will finally see who is ducking who in this situation.

I have not heard of any new players joining the Lakers who are young and have great potential. LeBron James is getting old and it is obvious that his age is taking a toll on his performance. Looking at the Lakers team right now, we will see good experience and good players who have been around before. Anthony Davis is probably the only player who is reliable but I don't know if he is someone whom you can build a team around. Russell Westbrook and LeBron James are just too old right now. The Lakers are obviously going to have big changes in the future but till then it will be interesting to see how they can perform.
Yes, Anthony Davis is a player whom they can build a team around. Maybe Lakers will keep him for long even after Lebron James retires. It's not easy to find a big man like him who can shoot outside, has good freethrow percentage, and can-do post up plays perfectly. It could because of what happened before when they have Lonzo, Randle, Kuzma, DLo in their roster, it failed, and it traumatized them to repeat that kind of mistake again. That's why they are not recruiting young guns. No doubt he can be effective, probably one of the best centers now, however, if he gets injured most of the time, that would make the Lakers struggle especially in the playoffs because it was very evident that without Davis they cannot win against good teams in the NBA. Hopefully this season to come he will be able to play more games, especially in the playoffs where he is needed the most. It is likely that he will be the most important player for the Lakers if he can stay healthy. The only problem is that he is quite prone to injuries. The only reason I said that he is not someone reliable around whom a team can be built is because he is quite injury-prone. There is no doubt that the Lakers need him this season because without him I believe that the Lakers are going to be a failure in the playoffs this year. Furthermore, he is not an old man either. As a result, he will be able to provide his services to the team for a longer period of time. It is at least a long period of time compared to LeBron James and Russell. Well, guess what? I believe everybody has their worst day in gambling especially if you started gambling early maybe in your teenage age. My worst day was when I used my school fees to gamble because I thought I will make more money to take care of some of my needs in school. At the beginning I was making profit for 2hrs,I was carried away with the anxiety of winning but later the game turned round and I was losing and losing,I didn't quit hoping I will recover my lost. Before I knew it I was left with 10% of the money I started with, I couldn't just quit the game then because I still feel I will start winning again but luck failed me and I got drained of all I have on me.
Two weeks later it was announced in school that we only had one more week left for closure of school fees payment, I tried borrowing, seek for help everywhere but nobody could help me with the money. This was how I couldn't pay my fee for that semester and went home with carry overs after the end of the semester as I was not allowed to write some exams.

I would not risk at that kind of odds, I'd rather look for an odds of 1.50 over 1.03 even if there's a huge chance it will win, one of the reasons is that upsets do happen in any sports, especially in boxing.
