Well since I was born 1983 and Germany was reunited 1990..given I was 10 and from east Germany the only computers available have been Robotron and slight amount of C64, and Amiga 500 :-D
Let Slack run on this ..:-D

Well so I wanna Windows build now :-D

And how you know it is faster on clickibuntu than on optimized compiled system from scratch? aka Gentoo or LFS.

I've used gentoo on my servers for enough years to know it's not worth the hassle ;-)
2562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer M7 (XCN) by djm34, fixed + optimized for cuda 8 and new cards by pallas on: September 03, 2016, 01:49:45 PM
Nouveau is not a problem. Look around you'll find many docs on how to remove it. I use ubuntu for example.

Its about forcing me to do it and remove it not to give me choice if i want it. Since it is known that is has problems with newer NV cards it should be optional not mandatory..its against the open source mind ..
The days back since I started with Linux 1996 i always had a choice which drivers i want and which i wont..the install started as option GUI or text based but it has been removed along in Ubuntu(irgs), Fedora, Mint, and so on.

This is how it should not work..even windows does it better and install first a standard VGA driver that works to 100% and then let me do what i have to do...so I'm now installing gentoo with admin-minimal cd :-D needs more time to compile all the stuff but in the end I have want i wanted.

That's OK but it's much faster and easier with ubuntu than with gentoo.
BTW I started with slackware in '93 :-)

I have good news for all of you AMD miners out there!
A AMD miner has been published by Epsylon3 in the Veltor IRC.

GPU Miner (AMD) by Epsylon3:

Consider tipping Epsylon3 some of your mined coins.

Speed?

So can we focus for a windows build? Maybe you can merge it with https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=770064.0.
Somehow he can do windows builds :-D

It would be nice to merge with tpruvot's, but it's not trivial: the block header is non-standard, to begin with.

Decided to tether my cellphone and test the batch today.   Works like a champ.   Video card selection and all.  Makes it nice to have one instance/miner connection per device.  More consistent hashrates/shares IMHO.  I think ill start running it that way from now on.

I am thinking of finding a simple way to have the batch do this automatically....  but logistically speaking using dos commands:  it's a nightmare to do.  (dynamic check/verify/logic is hard to accomplish with DOS commands).

You could write the script in any other scripting language like python, bash, perl or php. They all support windows pretty well, AFAIK.

New commit: "A bit of readability and aesthetics"
Now logs are much prettier!

for linux it's pretty easy, just run (like any other ccminer or similar program):

./autogen.sh
./configure
make

in case it fails, it's probably due to a missing package.
just google the error and you'll find what package that is.
or, you can look into the docs and install them beforehand.

So any progress to get a windows build pallas? It would be good to have one with the new improvements you have made.

I may have found a guy who can make the windows build.

New commit: "1070 hashrate improvements"
Still not on par with 980Ti, but it's an improvement ;-)
Should affect 1060 and 1080 as well.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I've been working on an important part of the algo (the multiplication routines) and used many different approaches to try and improve them. Unfortunately I couldn't came with any measurable hashrate increase: the code was already pretty good. I have some ideas left to try and will let you all know.

but is certain that the 1070 need improvement, it is even slower than a 980ti, maybe it need some "code trick" like the famous killer groestl from christian

yes that's still a mistery to solve, I think I'll focus on that next.

Maybe it is better to exclude totally this exchange from the first post.

If it wasn't the only one...

20% of miners hold 80% of hashing power;
80% of developer market is in 20% of miners;
The rest 80% of miners are going to whine on forums when treated "unfairly" Grin

Looks a lot like a Pareto distribution ;-)

I've created a pull request with a fix for skein hashrate: it reported higher values than real.
The same issue might be present in other algos, I didn't have time to check.

"It cost 0.1BTC AND it comes with 2minute donation mining per hour."

isn't that too much? shouldn't be one or the other?

A bit too dark imho.
Also a bit of approximate timing should be added.

AMD is once again king of crypto. nV is a joke

If I tell you what I'm earning using nvidia cards, you'd cry.
