2561  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you really think bitcoin price will pump to 1000 dollars after.... on: May 16, 2015, 11:27:56 AM
Continuation of the thread title:

... the next block reward halving? from 25 BTC to 12.5 BTC.

Or a modified question:

Do you really think the bitcoin price (not value) will jump again to 1000 dollars (without any manipulation)? and will you buy 1 bitcoin for 1000 USD?

Yes it will happen unless something else which is the same comes along and takes it place.  Whatever that is will have to be decentralized though else the current bitcoin community will stick with bitcoin.  The community and smart minds who support bitcoin keep bitcoin coming back stronger.

Also $1k isnt very high, some clever people think way higher....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvevkBg6ZU4

Wait if bitcoin will be mainstream (so used by a lot of person) I think the price wil go down, because a lot of people will start to use and keep always bitcoin instead to convert it for FIAT currencies...

I think something it will happen after (but also few days before) the next block reward halving but sincerely not 1'000 dollars per bitcoin (most probable around 500 dollars).

2562  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: La mia trust list on: May 16, 2015, 11:24:34 AM

[...]

depth 0  --> trust 0 0 0 (0)

depth 1 --> trust  38 0 16 (16)

depth 2 --> trust 38 0 16 (16)

depth 3 --> trust 53 0 22 (22)

depth 4 --> trust 53 0 22 (22)

2564  Economy / Speculation / Re: How Did bitcoin remained at 200 USD on: May 16, 2015, 10:57:37 AM
$200 is what the demand and supply agreed upon as a fair price right now.
The real question should be: Are we going to see prices over $1000 again without another willy bot?

No of course, the real second question... will you buy 1 bitcoin for 1'000 dollars? I do no think you will buy it Wink.

Ye how is price remaining in the 200s... Should probably be higher :{)

It seems this is the real bitcoin price, we are crashe from 1k dollars to 150 dollars .... and now we are here for a couple of months 200-300 dollars. Some users asking for 1k dollars but the price (not the value) can't never reach 500 dollars .
2565  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: May 16, 2015, 10:53:00 AM
When does trust rating become green ? I had +1 for a long time and it was gray and couple days ago i became hero member and now its green ? How does that work ?

I think the two things are not related and if I remember correctly a positive trust from a defaultTrust user (one trust) will become green after 10 months, but I can be wrong in my words.
2566  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: If Bitcoin hard forks, do alternative clients need to be updated? on: May 16, 2015, 10:47:37 AM
Thanks for the answers. That was similar to what I thought (since the external servers grab their data from core nodes which are full clients).

Currently there is some discussion about hard forking Bitcoin so that the maximum block size is increased. That would require a mandatory update for Bitcoin Core. But what about alternative clients like Electrum and Multibit? Do these also need to be updated or not? Since they rely on external servers, is it just these servers that need to be updated or everyone who uses the program?

Only if the majority of the miners agree there can be a protocol update. Electrum and Multibit have active development. A block size increase probably has effect on the source code.

If a protocol update was announced and not all miners agreed to the fork then the network would bifurcate. Electrum and Multibit have rapid development as you point out so I would think that if there is any compatibility issue (and there seems to be none for the example that I posted in the OP) then they would modify their code to "speak" with the core nodes on the correct fork of the Bitcoin blockchain.

At least that was my assumption.

Hmm it could be possible, if it will be an hard fork I think it cannot exist two or more "blockchain" at the same time. So it will be a really 'discomfort' to all the users that "are not user friendly" with bitcoin. However if it can be possible 2 fork of the chain at the same time, what it will happen if I'll send 1 btc from the FORK-A to your address (bitcoin core updated) in the FORK-B?
2567  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any legit site where i can exchange my btc to paypal ? on: May 16, 2015, 10:42:07 AM
It is not allowed so I think you cant find legit site

Why are you saying it is not allowed? You can sell bitcoin also for stones (if you want). Nobody can stop you to do this, but as I have said previously bitcoin and paypal ... is so risky. However OP , you can find some legit users in the currency exchange section here in the forum.
2568  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any legit site where i can exchange my btc to paypal ? on: May 16, 2015, 10:39:52 AM
I've heard of them, but they seem too risky nowdays.

Bitcoin and paypal in the same phrase is risky, I really don't suggest you to buy bitcoin for paypal and the contrary (due the chargeback, and also if you nominate "bitcoin" in a paypal controversy your and the other account will be locked).
2569  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any legit site where i can exchange my btc to paypal ? on: May 16, 2015, 10:35:15 AM
Yeah, so as the question says, im looking for a service where i can exchange my btc to paypal funds.

I have never tried , but have a look to https://www.virwox.com/ . I think you can buy and sell bitcoin for paypal.
2570  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie accounts used for trolling on: May 16, 2015, 10:30:51 AM
I have found a post made by BadBear:

Same reason you always get banned, ban evasion and trolling.

So I think "trolling" is against the forum rules, and all the trollers should be banned (newbie and not newbie users) but this is a decision to do case by case basis.
2571  Other / Meta / Re: Stolen account yussuf89 on: May 16, 2015, 10:16:57 AM
Has the *real* owner of this account received payment that is due to them from the sale of the account?
Im the real owner of this account. I have received the payment from sale.
New posts* from yussuf89 are not written by me.

* https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=962616.msg10536105#msg10536105
This is my last post from yussuf89

So, actually yussuf89 (uid: 151256) is a bought, formerly hacked, account. Given is actual activity here, I'll leave him a neutral comment into his trust feedback page to remind others that the person actually controlling the account is not the same who received trust feedbacks in the past months.

I think yes, who bought the account has created the dice site and now he is managing it. Maybe it is also better to write something in that thread (only to be intended as warning). An user from the defaultTrust list (depth 2) should also give a neutral trust, because your trust is in the untrusted feedback section.
2572  Economy / Lending / Re: [HERO] 0.8 BTC loan to complete freelance project on: May 16, 2015, 10:11:36 AM
If I can say also my opinion, I do not think it is the real amacar (the real person who created that account). The [HERO] tag is a strong suggestion to us, why an Hero member should have written also that tag Roll Eyes? Also the post edited is another 'red warning', I suggest to wait a reply from 'him' or who is managing this account (it could also have been sold to someone else - but also the hacked account is a good possibility but amacar does not seem a newbie and he knows how to protect 'his account').
2573  Other / Meta / Re: -Rep abuse on: May 16, 2015, 10:01:28 AM
You seriously believe i would have thrown a $100 worth account for $40.. Why the hell would i do that?

Because you wanted to sell it, and $40 would have been a reasonable offer for you.  The account is only worth $100 if someone was willing to pay that.

You weren't getting any offers in the 11 days you had the sale up:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1048254

Just because i didn't get any offers doesn't mean i will just throw it away.. The account is worth almost $500, and in steam sales the games all total at $100. It's also the only games i have. The account will be sold for at least $70 and up. If i don't get any offers, then it's simple. I'm not going to sell it.

Wait.. wait.. if the account is worth 500 dollars why do you want only 0.20 bitcoin for your loan request? This is really strange and suspicious. Again: why didn't you ask more than 0.20 bitcoin?
2574  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] iMac or Macbook on: May 16, 2015, 09:58:44 AM
where is the honesty and seriousness?

On an internet forum? Hah, that's funny Smiley

Yes why not? Behind a forum users there is an human or person, so why can't he be honest? However I didn't find anything of interesting (for me) outside of this forum, the asking price is too damn high  Grin.
It's high because you need an MacBook / iMac. It's Apple! Cheesy
Just buy normal PC / Laptop if you need something cheap..

I would like a MacBook or iMac because  I have already a few laptop(s). So are you saying that the apple (the fruit) gives more value to the device?

Yes it does, but maybe you don't know it  Wink Why are five years old iPhones still on that high prices, like MacBooks?

I think because there are a lot of people buying those products for an high price, but this is not the case. I would like to buy an 'Apple' device, for the right price (looking the hardware, software etc...).

there is somebody so stupid on this planet willing to pay $400 USD for some obsolete 5 years old 13' low res, non SSD laptop without warranty just because it is apple? hmm:((

You are right, 400 dollars is a little bit high price for a 2010's product, but "it is apple".

oh, so why can i see this and older MacBooks sold on ebay everyday for more Sad
or is there somebody so stupid who thinks that this and some NEW MacBooks are worth it?

So have you tried to sell it on eBay, maybe you can make more than 400 dollars (who knows?).

2577  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie accounts used for trolling on: May 16, 2015, 09:17:24 AM
By the way , what's a newbie Jail Huh Have heard it many times , i realize it something that stops newbie from posting too much or something like that.
Can i get a clear view on it ?

"Newbie Jail" is a term used to describe a small portion of the forum that newbies were restricted to.  They didn't have access to everything, hence the term "jail".
You mean they were confined to a certain portion only ? Well that is quite wrong and it'll effect new comers as not all of them are spammers .
It should not return , And yeah Thank you for explaining it to me Smiley

I remember to have seen or better read that "trolling" is against the forum rules or am I wrong? So it should be necessary only a report to mod and those users should be banned.

Bit if you will see that is not against thee forum rules, than the OP should start to use the ignore function (why not, also now).

hahaha you're going too much about the rules man! I hope all's fine.
If it's not given in the rules , doesn't mean it's not wrong , it's better to report newbie trollers because most of the time they are just Farmed accounts.

Also if it is present in the rules it could also not be wrong Wink. This is a forum governed by these rules and if it is not against those rules why those users should be stopped?

"Farm" an account is not against the forum rules, the unique big rule is to avoid the spam but also the spam could be a subjective thing.
2578  Other / Meta / Re: Clarification About The Forum on: May 16, 2015, 09:07:08 AM
1) Community answer: no. Yes. Not legal or illegal.

Why have you said yes to selling trust? It is illegal indeed

Are you really serious  Grin , illegal? I think that you wanted to say "it is against the forum rules". Sell positive, negative or neutral trust is not illegal in any law of any country.

However sell trusts is not real against the forum rules, but some members will give a negative trust if they will catch someone that is doing it.

I didn't actually had a word to use in the place . I know it's not illegal , maybe call it unethical ? Shady ?
Well in a way it can be called illegal right ? There aren't no rules that say we cannot sell trust but it will get you negged for sure.
So more or less it's illegal

Again, it is not illegal .... Because this is a forum and it is not managed by a government and especially there is not a law that says "sell trust is illegal". You are using the wrong word, and someone should explain me / if the buying or selling of forum account is not against the forum rules how selling or buying of trust would be against those rules?

Buying/selling accounts is not illegal because that cannot be stopped and might result in scam to newbie's
But trust is ammmmm all about trust ? C'mon man! i don't have a word for it , i know it's not illegal but it's simply wrong.
Anyone who sell/buy/farm trust shall get neg repped

Also buy or sell trust can't be really stopped, those users can use external service and continue to 'sell' positive, negative or neutral feedback.

The real purpose of the trust system , or better when I leave a trust ... It is because I trust or don't trust the person behind that account (not the account itself) and as I said previously , if an account is sold and that account was bought by a dishonest person that all the purpose of the trust system is destroyed.
