It is surprise to see Leeds United in delegation zone and has high risk to be delegated. Just one season ago, they played very good in Premier League and now things changed. It seems they only can bring surprise to other clubs because they ranked up and opponents did not understand well about Leeds United. When surprise gone, Leeds United lose their ability to get points and fall down to delegation area.
They were really good last season to say the least, tbh they looked like a team that was going to stay in the league and become a regular mid-table team, but it doesn't look to be so, from my assessment they are going to be relegated, while Burnley and Everton would be 'saved'. I think right from the start of this season it was obvious Leeds were in trouble, Bielsa was no longer getting things right, his team didn't just lose games, they conceded quite a lot of goals in the process; a new coach was brought in, but they were already well on their way to the Championship by then.

Having said that, the good thing for their fans is that their team is not too bad, and if they only manage to lose a few players if they get relegated, then they can return back to the EPL sooner rather than later.
2562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 19, 2022, 02:17:54 PM
Even though Everton lost to Brentford, all they need is one more win to stay up. Hopefully, they'll get it at Goodison Park with Crystal Palace.
I think Everton will stay up, prior to the Brentford loss they picked up vital wins and that is what has kept them in a strong position to escape the drop, and as i view things at the moment, they would not get relegated, i strongly believe they would win their next game, and that would be enough to keep them in the EPL for at least another season. Leeds look like the team that is going to complete the trio heading back to the Championship, Burnley have a much better chance of staying up, and except a miracle happens, it is going to be goodbye to Norwich, Watford and Leeds.
2563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 18, 2022, 07:34:28 PM
Today i watched an interview with an transfer expert from Sky UK and he said that there are realistic chances that Mane is leaving Liverpool after this season. He also said that Mane is not that happy at Liverpool at the moment because he feels that he does not get the same level of appreciation as Mohammed Salah even though their numbers are pretty identical.
I do not believe this rumor, Mane doesn't look unhappy at Liverpool, as a matter of fact why would he be unhappy, just take a look at what Liverpool have achieved this season, and he has been pivotal and as important as any other player in their pursuit of an unprecedented quadruple. What sort of 'appreciation' did the 'expert' particularly talk about, because it makes no sense to me, the Liverpool faithful love Mane, just as much as they love Salah, and every other player that represents their club, and in every team there is always a fan favorite, a player the fans tend to love slightly more than others, and many times it doesn't mean such player is the best in the team.

Footballers are complete professionals, they do not worry about things such as this, as long as the team is winning trophies, and they are getting game time and also being paid well, then they cannot have any problems at all. Even if Mane is going to leave Liverpool, it isn't going to be for a reason as frivolous as this.
2564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 18, 2022, 07:04:59 PM
I as a Liverpool supporter Gerrard's heart remains will be touched for Liverpool's victory and this is one, assistance from Aston Villa through his coach had to hold on to a draw Mancity.
It is funny how people are calling on Gerrard to help Liverpool beat City with Villa, there is nothing much Gerrard can do other than send his boys out like he does in every matchday and hope they put up a good performance, and that is the same thing he is going to do on the final game of the season when they face City, Gerrard isn't going to magically imbibe them with the needed quality to beat City, that's not possible.

Having said that, for people who want Villa to win City so Liverpool can win the league, i am sorry, that's not going to happen, City are going to be too strong for Villa on that day, and i am pretty sure there is not going to be any drama, it is going to be a straightforward win and City will be crowned champions.
2565  Other / Meta / Re: How do you feel when someone gives you MERIT? on: May 18, 2022, 07:34:15 AM
Some users would say it depends somewhat on the rank of the user, for example a newbie would prolly be overly excited to get a couple of merits here and there cause it helps them rank up (and tbh, every user wants to rank up, even if they claim otherwise), and a Legendary user would be happy to receive merits cause it shows someone likes/appreciates/think what they wrote is good/recognizes their efforts, etc, even if it does nothing for them in the grand scheme of things (as they have no other ranking up to do), except that it allows them apply for good campaigns that have a merit criteria (like x amount of merits in the last 120 days).

Overall the merit system is great for the forum, it combats spam and reduces it to a large extent, though it doesn't eradicate it which is not possible, but it has a really positive impact, and any user should feel great when they get some, except those who totally do not care about the merit system (whether sending or receiving).

I also don't relate Manchester United to Kylian Mbappe right now. There haven't been even any rumours about him to be linked with them. And it is doubtful whether Manchester United would be able to meet his demands as well. They aren't even in the Champions League next season. So why would Mbappe like to go there rather than joining his dream team. I think Mbappe will make up his mind soon and he will end up with Real Madrid after.
Is that the latest rumor on the future of Mbappe, this is complete rubbish, prolly the worst of all the rumors on the next move of the French man, i am completely unaware of this as i have not seen it anywhere else other than here, it is even crazy to suggest that Mbappe would end up in United, a club currently in their worst at the moment, that would be a terrible move for his career. To be honest it is impossible, rather than move to United he is better of at PSG, they (PSG) are in the CL, United are not, and they can offer him more money than United can, If Mbappe is leaving Paris, it would definitely be to Madrid.
2567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 17, 2022, 07:56:33 PM
I think Real Madrid actually did not have any type of tough competition this season in La Liga. They got away with some mistakes that they did. Real Madrid is a great team but the competition code have been a lot harder if Barcelona started playing like this from the start of the season. In the next season, we will see some new players and very important and promising players in both teams so I am quite sure that in the next season it is going to be a tough fight for the league title.
I second that, Real Madrid deserve all the congratulations they are getting, no doubts about that, but it was really easy for them to win the league this season, their rivals Barcelona started really poorly, and all credit to Real Madrid for capitalizing on it and racing far away from everyone in the race for the title, that is what big teams do, and Real Madrid did it to perfection this season, and that is why they are champions.

I am pretty sure next season would be different though, i am not saying Real Madrid are not capable of winning it again next season, of course they can, the point is just that next season is going to be more difficult, Barcelona are finishing this season on a high, and that would give them extra motivation coming into next season, there would be a stronger competition for the title next season i'm sure.
2568  Economy / Reputation / Re: Display Name changed from "COOLCRYPTOVATOR" to "The Cryptovator" | Tnx Theymos on: May 17, 2022, 07:10:04 PM
I've been asking myself the same damn thing--I pretty much begged Theymos to allow me to switch my username to Sceptical Chymist, and I was met with a concrete wall of silence...
Hell i had never seen the above thread till now, never had the idea you actually wanted to stop being 'The Pharmacist', lol Grin. I skimmed through the replies on the thread, and from what i get you never got any answer whatsoever, well that is strange, especially for someone of your reputation. Did you ever get to give Theymos your reason for wanting to change your username? Or you didn't get the chance to since he never replied in the first place?

I am thinking the problem could have been the timing, maybe you asked at a time Theymos was prolly busy or less inclined to make any such change for users, i can't see any other reason, first you are an established user, and from my deduction you never actually had the chance to tell Theymos the reason, so the claim of 'the reason wasn't susbstantial' can't suffice. Why don't you try asking again bro? How about that, well that is if you consider it important of course.
2569  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 17, 2022, 06:30:36 PM
Don't keep your fingers crossed when there is something you can do, get your pvc and be ready to choose one candidate, e fit nor dey perfect...but at least person wey go help small, Nigerian's dun suffer too much
Of course that is not a problem for me my bro, i do not and have never practiced political apathy, i always vote, and i am going to do same again come next year's general elections. I just do not feel too optimistic about the outcome, maybe the problem is with me and i am just a pessimistic guy, or maybe you prolly share in my indifference and understand a tad bit of what my worries are. This coming general election is really going to be a pivotal one for our nation, Nigerians are already fed up, and i really hope whoever emerges as the winner actually does a good job or else he would struggle to keep the nation together, cause he would be under immense pressure.
2570  Economy / Economics / Re: A decision to make on: May 17, 2022, 06:03:25 PM
Would you rather buy a house to live in or rent an apartment to invest in bitcoin  Since bitcoin is experiencing bear what decision will you take make use of the season or let it pass.
It depends a whole lot on the individual in question, personally i would buy a house, do not forget that i could also lease/rent my house out at anytime, and make money from it, but that is by the way. I know quite a lot of us believe in Bitcoin, but in life there are prolly somethings that should be primary, if the house is of utmost importance to you and your family, then the decision should be an absolute no-brainer, you just have to get the house, as long as you have a job in RL and you are hardworking, you will definitely be able to save up something sometime later to invest in Bitcoin. And do not forget you do not have to invest in Bitcoin all at once with a huge sum, that is even a risky thing to do, thus if you buy your house, you can use Dollar Cost Averaging to grow a Bitcoin portfolio, it doesn't matter if you are even investing $30/$40/$50 per week or something around that amount, it would turn into something in the long run.

Since you're in two minds on what to do, it could mean the stipulated sum is nearly all you have, then you shouldn't even consider using it up for Bitcoin investment, lest you invest far more than you can afford to lose.
2571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is scarcer than gold. on: May 17, 2022, 05:37:55 PM
If I invest on bitcoin I expect more return than gold...
That is one pro Bitcoin has over gold, but remember that if you must speculate with Bitcoin you have to expect great ROI in the long run, as Bitcoin doesn't really maintain its value for a long period of time like gold, it is volatile, and short term investors sometimes lose their funds and do not make any returns, gold on the other hand is a store of value/safe haven asset, and that is one pro gold has over Bitcoin. I am just trying to point out that the two have advantages over the other.
yet the investment is easy for me because I can do it with nobody knowing I am even investing in bitcoin...
Gold is physical, but you could still own gold and nobody would know you do so, it is up to you, there are Bitcoin users who tell everyone they own Bitcoins as well, i think this point depends a whole lot on the user/how they use their asset.
2572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Holding or Using ? on: May 17, 2022, 04:08:20 PM
We all know about BTC Holding and we all encourage it, and on the other hand we are also happy when we see someone buying a car with BTC. My point is, if we hold btc all the time, where is our profit if it is not used, and if it is just holding without using, how will its value increase? And why are we happy when we see someone buy something from btc?  This issue has been circulating in my mind for a long time, what do you think about it?
I have said this a couple of times already, i'd reiterate, i do not really care how people choose to use their Bitcoin, just use yours the way you think is best, either spending it as Bitcoin, hodling it, or converting it to fiat for spending, it all depends on the user, their needs, convenience and what have you; its value would still increase nonetheless, cause they are many people using it in many different ways, and what that means is that there is incessant demand, so why wouldn't the value go up.

I like to see people buy stuffs with Bitcoin, and i also like to see people hold it, the thing remains that both parties believe in the Bitcoin network, and that is what that matters in the end.
2573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 44 countries will meet in El Salvador to discuss Bitcoin on: May 17, 2022, 03:58:34 PM
We are not sure yet how this meeting is going to affect bitcoin and the adoption of bitcoin but from what we can see most of these countries are the countries with no strong fiat currencies so they may show interest in accepting bitcoin like Nayib Bukele did accept in El Salvador.
Yeah they might show interest, it also doesn't mean that many of them would immediately make Bitcoin a legal tender in their own country by the way, and even if they do, i honestly do not think it will have too much of an impact on Bitcoin (not immediately at least), especially when you take a good look at the countries having the said meeting. I know it is not possible right now for first world countries to take steps such as this regarding Bitcoin, of course not, they are solely focused on continually improving their fiat currency/economy, but if that happens somewhere along the line, then we could call it a big news, and one that will have an effect on Bitcoin. Don't get me wrong, i am not just merely pushing this away as nothing, of course not, if you look at how old Bitcoin is as a currency (relatively young), then you would understand that it is actually something worthy of note for countries to include its adoption in their discussion, irrespective of the countries that make up the meeting.
But on the other hand, this meeting is going to happen just a few days after the recent crash in the market that things happened to some altcoins like luna which can have some bad effect on their aspect of view from bitcoin...
They should obviously have done their research, they definitely would be aware of the risk in the network, and that it it not a stable one, so this shouldn't be any problem at all in respect to the general view/discussion.
2574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we all buy a Bitcoin Pizza? on: May 17, 2022, 03:17:29 PM
Well the point of me is, to convert money to Bitcoin and then spend it at a shop that accepts bitcoins. I don't say you should spend bitcoins that you want to keep, I say you should spend money that you spend anyways not in fiat but in crypto to support the adoption.
I wouldn't mind spending my Bitcoin on a couple of my needs if i do get the chance (and i mean 'where) to do so, it is really difficult to do that where i come from, you could of course pay for some goods and services over the internet (online), but a real life payment in a shop/store is difficult to do at the moment. Generally, doing so would depend a whole lot on where the user resides, and how popular shops that accept Bitcoin are in that area.

Of course more Bitcoin users would want to hodl and speculate with their coins in many years to come, but it is of course great to likewise use Bitcoin as a currency when you do have the chance to do so, not that it matters too much how one uses it, cause anyway actually helps with mainstream adoption; whether it is buying to hold or buying to spend, the thing remains that Bitcoin is being bought (meaning there is constant demand).
2575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 16, 2022, 09:36:40 PM
And just as quite a lot of people expected: Arsenal did what Arsenal know how to do best, and that is to capitulate, there is no such thing as 'we now have to wait for the last game to see who ends fourth', Spurs are going to end fourth, and that is that, Norwich would be lucky not to concede above 3 goals that day. It was in Arsenal's hands quite a lot of times this season, they lost it and it came right back to them again (up until tonight), this situation happened quite a lot of times this season, they ought to have been more decisive in doing their job. If you saw how distraught Arsenal players were at the end of the game you'll know that even themselves know it is over, it is Europa league football for them next season after all the hardwork, this is even going to affect their mentality for next season.
2576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 16, 2022, 09:09:49 PM
Luiz Saurez was giving a well deserved farewell by the Atletico Madrid fans, though his stay with them was short but they did appreciate his impact. Many teams will be considering getting him to join them, and rumor has it that he prefer playing in the EPL which I doubt because he has outstanding match ban there. I think if PSG approach him he would sign for them to reunite with his friends Neymar and Messi.
Suarez was very instrumental in Athletico's run to win the title last season, he scored many goals that contributed in the success they achieved last season, and not just that, whenever he is called upon to play for the team, he gives his all, he plays with all the desire in the world, and that is what fans love to see from their players, thus he deserved the farewell he got, as i am pretty sure the club and fans wish him well in his next step.

I actually disagree that many teams would be seeking to sign Suarez, maybe lower teams though, but i don't know how many top teams will be keen in getting Suarez into their team, this looks prolly like the time Suarez either moves to a less competitive league, or to a small club where he could get some playing time under his belt, for him it should be getting to the stage were the curtain is drawn on an illustrous career.
2577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 16, 2022, 08:44:25 PM
Manchester City lost the big advantage, in my opinion, Aston Villa can do anything.
Of course if City had won the game they would have been all but Champions heading into the final game of the season, but people seem to forget how tough a team West Ham are, and that point was very important for City to keep their destiny firmly in their hands heading into their final game of the season against Aston Villa. I am very proud of this City side, with what they have done this season they deserve an awful amount of credit, and they would get all of that on the final day when they are crowned champions, cause i do not see anything other than that happening.

Liverpool by the way still have to win Southampton tomorrow to take the title race down to the final day, it is a game they are highly expected to win, but until they do that we can't talk about the race for the title lingering till the final day, so it is fingers crossed for now.

Have any official announcement Mbappe will Leave the PSG next season?I see some website Mbappe will join Real Madrid in next season.
There is as of yet no official statement on the future of Mbappe, as is expected there is always going to be quite a lot of rumors making the rounds, but from what i read online, the player is set to make an announcement on his future in a few weeks, i read he will do that before he links up with the French National team soon. That announcement really needs to come quick enough, as the rumors over the past months have been quite much, time to settle it once and for all.

A part of me tells me that Mbappe is ambivalent of what he wants to do, if he should go or stay, i quite understand his situation as players try to be as careful as possible in taking decisions such as this.
2579  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can i secure my account? on: May 16, 2022, 04:57:55 PM
Do not use your forum email account to register on other websites and platforms, you should obviously have multiple emails, do so if you do not, and then 'dedicate' one solely for your forum account here. It would also be much better if you avoid using a public wifi to access your account, you should also use a very strong password like others have said, if you do not have an idea how to do so, here is a thread that can teach you how to create strong passwords, read it for better understanding : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5132378.0
2580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will LUNA's downfall scare away investors from the crypto market? on: May 16, 2022, 04:44:39 PM
Do you think LUNA's downfall will scare away investors from the crypto market? If not, why?
It could, but i would argue that it will only scare away people who know little about the crypto network, let us be honest, quite a lot of investors who bought that project did so basically cause of hype, and a bid to get rich quick, i am pretty sure most of them did not do their homework/research, they just thought of it as a medium to double their money, and we all know what is likely to happen when investors do that.

Now the thing is this, for investors who have been around for so long, and who know a lot about pump and dump coins, they would not be too worried or scared away, even if they lost money to the project, they would understand that it is the risk one has to take when you invest with such pump and dump project, but for investors who are prolly relatively new to the network and straightaway lost money to Luna, i am pretty sure that could be the last time they invest, at least in a long while, till they do their homework.

Having said that, non-crypto people are not left out as well, all of the news about Luna would give them many more reasons to avoid crypto all together, but quite a lot of them wouldn't understand that the problem isn't with crypto generally, but the particular network you invest in.
