2561  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Please remove Chaang Noi (Goat) from default trust list on: November 15, 2013, 02:12:18 AM
Ok, message sent to Badbear.

Badbear don't care.

Yes this became apparent quite quickly.  He then got pretty hostile after my post about Goat wheedling or paying his pay onto the trust list.

I have also tried to reason with Goat, explaining at great length the process that bitcoin co. ltd. went through and why I had/have reason to believe bitcoin trading is considered illegal in Thailand.

Goat refuses to engage in reasoned discussion, but instead will only state that it's self evident that i'm wrong and untrusted.

I have tried to explain in the simplest manner possible to Goat why buying/sell bitcoin is illegal in Thailand, here was my information:

Quote
If you wanted to offer money changing services in Thailand you need a license:
Source: http://www.kodmhai.com/m4/m4-2/h82/m1-9.html

BoT (Bank of Thailand) has the mandate to oversee money changing business and licenses:
Source: http://www.bot.or.th/ENGLISH/FOREIGNEXCHANGEREGULATIONS/FXREGULATION/Pages/ExchangeControlLaw.aspx

BoT will not issue any company or person with a license to change money if they are trading in bitcoin
BoT does consider trading bitcoins to be "changing money"

From the meeting in July.

Goats response to this was "wow you really are slow."

He has poked around at the feedback he left me.  Finally remove the totally fictitious 1BTC that he "risked" with me.  However still stubbornly refuses to remove his other feedback.

Again I appeal to the mods to remove Goat from the default trust list.  I have no problem with Goat's trust still remaining on my account, but I should not be branded with a red "Warning" next to every post I make.

Again, mods have no power over it. The only way to remove Goat would be for Theymos to remove Badbear from the default trust list. That or Badbear would have to remove Goat, and he has already addressed that.

I do care, problem is OP has already spread misinformation and lies about me as well, so I have no reason to believe him and intervene as he has requested. Also consider that goat isn't the only one to leave him feedback for that so I have a hard time believing it's personal as he claims.
2562  Economy / Goods / Re: Buy, Sell, or Trade Collectors Silver, Gold, and Bullion on: November 15, 2013, 01:33:35 AM
Please keep bumping thread Salty as I'm checking it quite frequently wondering when Libertads and Britannias will be back in stock Smiley I also don't see the Fiji Turtles very often and in general terms I happen think that now is quite a good time to buy silver.

As I'm based in Australia, I am a little concerned about receiving the items via the mail but it's probably worth the risk for one or two different coins, if only to see what they're like in the hand. Obviously I can access all of the Perth Mint offerings without any importation issues and although there's no real reason for me to buy 'foreign silver', it's always nice to compare the designs and quality. Do you have any bars or is it just the coins that you offer?

Perhaps you'd be kind enough to send me a quick pm with an indication of shipping charges please?

Thanks very much, it's great to see the different coins, so I hope that you're getting some buyers through the thread (I'm thinking most would be quietly pm'ing you Cheesy ).

Cheers!

Thanks for the message and question. I've been trying to hit local shops and coin shows and such looking for good deals on Libertads and Britannias and such as well as interesting pieces, however haven't had too much luck lately. Of course if there is demand, I'll look for a more reliable but slightly more expensive source, however of course the cost would be passed along to the buyer, and I'd like to keep my prices competitive.

About your question, I cannot ship to Australia. Australia is actually incredibly strict on the importation of precious metals, and it is even difficult for large dealers like APMEX to do so. There is a ton of paperwork and other things standing in the way that make it near impossible for individuals to ship precious metals to Australia. Even APMEX won't bother with orders less than $1500, and they have extra say in the matter because of their business status.

I mostly deal in the more exotic coins, however I do get bars and rounds and such in from time to time. Designer bars and whatnaught I just don't find as interesting as collectors bullion, so I don't buy as much of it, but of course, if I find the market wishes it, I'd see if I could find more. I'm just about in restock mode, and once I can convert my BTC to $ or silver, I'll have everything restocked.

2565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTC and TRC getting removed from btce -- which currency will replace them? on: November 14, 2013, 06:10:14 AM
TRC is still getting removed.

Yar, what was the volume of TRC trades after the news though? If I wasn't tired, I'd find out both of their trade volumes since the news came out they were being delisted, and see if that supported my thesis.
2566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTC and TRC getting removed from btce -- which currency will replace them? on: November 14, 2013, 05:58:37 AM
Its a bad sign when your coin holdings decrease in value by 50% when they are removed from a single exchange.

My guess would be that FTC and TRC had very little volume, and then when they made the announcement, the influx of trades due to the news was enough for them to reconsider.
2567  Economy / Goods / Re: Gold Coin, Gold Bar, Silver coins and bars for sale - on: November 14, 2013, 04:05:16 AM
What the fuck? I didnt purchase this account... and I dont know those names.... Huh  Who the fuck are you to say... Take my negative rating away, just because I wont sell to you dosent mean you have to bash people, stop crying.

After you refused to do escrow with Mr.Goat and myself, I thought about our conversation when we were talking about how old your account was. I then wondered why your post count and such was so low, so I thought that the account could be hacked or purchased. I remembered seeing a thread earlier where people were complaining about accounts being sold on Ebay for $25, so I went back to that, contacted the seller, and asked if he had sold the account.

Hey, I'm just wondering if you would be able to tell me if you sold this account?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=13593

If not thats fine, there is just some question as whether it is a hacked/purchased account.

Yes, it was sold to a guy named "cryto4rig".

I was the one who labled Cryto4rig as a scammer in the first place  Smiley
2568  Economy / Goods / Re: Gold Coin, Gold Bar, Silver coins and bars for sale - on: November 14, 2013, 03:56:51 AM
Confirmed alt of Aquaman, Cryto4rig, and UniversalTek

Account was purchased.
2569  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [OPEN] WTS BTC for $ in the Mail on: November 14, 2013, 03:31:31 AM
you dont even have a local atm? that is all you would need.something doesn't seem right.

i wish everyone luck.

my main worry is postal workers stealing the cash and the inevitable problems messing around with the insurance claim.

Nope, admittedly I can go to an ATM and withdraw with my debit card, but I've had my account frozen twice already for suspicious withdrawals... of $500 each... I don't mess with banks anymore, they are a waste of time. I've had more Bitcoin related accounts frozen then I care to list. So I just do Bitcoin > Silver/Gold > Cash.

Well, if its insured, or mailed via registered mail, having the postal workers steal your money is very unlikely, first because with registered mail, they would be caught and fired, second, because the insurance will pay it out.

Scammer tags aren't given out anymore, and haven't been for quite a while. Feel free to leave them negative feedback I guess?
2572  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Yamaha YEP201 Euphonium on: November 13, 2013, 10:19:25 PM
Most likely this is the last week I'll be offering this before I just go into a music store and trade it. If you are at all interested, be sure to shoot me a pm before this weekend.
2573  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Metric Ass Ton of 22K Gold Golden Legends Baseball cards UPDATED 11/13/13 on: November 13, 2013, 10:18:41 PM
Yes this is an incredibly old listing, however I do still have the cards, just pulled them out of a box in my crawl space, and looking to sell.
2574  Economy / Goods / Re: Gold Coin, Gold Bar, Silver coins and bars for sale - on: November 13, 2013, 08:07:07 PM
Woops, lol...

Im looking to sell all the silver for around $550, I believe there is 27 oz's there. The reason for $550 is the China Panda and the 2 oz coin are worth a little more than just the silver content.
Around $350 for the Gold 1/4oz coin.
Around $220 for the 5 gram Gold.

Of course Id be willing to hash out a deal here and there for buying the lot, or most.

And escrow -   http://hackread.com/bitcointalk-hacked-email-for-sale/  -  http://www.ibtimes.co.in/articles/521806/20131113/2nd-bitcoin-bank-robbery-1-week-4.htm  -    No.

You have a pm from me  Smiley
2575  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Please remove Chaang Noi (Goat) from default trust list on: November 13, 2013, 06:23:16 AM
That's incorrect, leaving someone feedback doesn't add them to your or anyone's list.

Sorry, should have reworded that. If someone on the default trust list, trusts someone else, then that other person's feedback onto another person, is then categorized as "trusted feedback" assuming you use the default trust option and have appropriate depth set.

Its a confusing ass system. Sometimes I look at it and just kind of wonder how someone ended up with a certain feedback score, try and investigate, and just give up and declare it witchcraft.
2576  Economy / Goods / Re: Buy, Sell, or Trade Collectors Silver, Gold, and Bullion on: November 13, 2013, 06:00:17 AM
all prices dropped, silver's spot price is down, now is the time to buy.
2577  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Jupiter 485 GHash on: November 13, 2013, 05:41:58 AM
$5,000,0000 zimbabwean dollars

I'd take this offer. The currency of Zimbabwe is the USD, Euro, Pound, Rand, and Pula.

So, $5,000,000 Zimbabwe dollars = 13,774 BTC
€5,000,000 = 18,457 BTC
£5,000,000 = 21900 BTC
R5,000,000 = 1336 BTC
P5,000,000 = 1515 BTC

So either way, your lowest offer is 1336 BTC
2578  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Self-moderation is censorship on: November 13, 2013, 05:28:15 AM
It's still lame; if the purpose of a thread, perhaps not everywhere but particularly in politics & society, is to present a problem or happening in the world and discuss it, then it becomes a moot point to make it self-moderated, to delete any dissenting opinions or remove people you dislike; what good is a conversation when only people you agree with may remain?  It's little more than an echo: "Oh you agree with me?  You can stay.  You don't agree with me?  Gtfo."  Any other reason to moderate is rare and very well handled by mods; my only option in the case of self-moderated threads, as has always been the case as I often have uncommon opinions, is to recreate the same thread with the same topic without the self-moderation just to ensure posts can't be unfairly removed.

I see good uses for this in, for example, the marketplace, where discussion isn't the point; in this subforum, at least, it's a nuisance.  Any chance certain boards can be excluded from this feature?

I'm not sure, but thats a pretty good point, perhaps bring that idea to Meta. I'm on the side where I find self moderation incredibly useful in certain senarios, like in the market like you said. I guess I didn't think about the implications of having self moderated threads in sections where the point is to express your individual ideas. I wouldn't figure people would use them here.

Then again, even in this section, I'm sure some people could use self moderation for good. For example, say you made a thread about Public Education, and then some spammers come in and start posting about how Wild Irish Rose was created by the republicans to exterminate the homeless. Would you delete their comments?
2579  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does this forum store IP addresses? on: November 13, 2013, 05:25:17 AM

I use Private Internet Access; I think you can register through their VPN.

Mods and admins can see you IP.

Just Admins.
2580  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Self-moderation is censorship on: November 13, 2013, 05:09:30 AM
Yeah, thats kind of the point I think.

"This is a self-moderated topic. If you do not want to be moderated by the person who started this topic, create a new topic. "

It gives you a disclaimer when you enter the thread that if you don't want to be moderated by the OP, don't post. So... mission accomplished?
