What strikes me as a bit weird is that some rich Bitcoin-holders get more than Tony himself, just for linking an address. For example: http://transition.byteball.org/ shows an address with 9992.30838103 Bitcoin balance, it gets 7.3304 % of all bytes. More than 7 times more than the developer gets for doing all the work. This doesn't really fit Tony's idea: I want Byteball to be in the hands of as many people as possible Unfortunately, I can't think of any way to prevent this. Limiting the maximum balance doesn't help, the Bitcoins could just as easily be spread out over multiple addresses. I vote that an extra 1% or even 2% of the currency is withheld for the sole purposes of development outside of Tony's contributions.
This would be for other developers/bounties/etc. that Tony leads. Basically that turns Tony into an employer/CEO. Would that be something he wants? The fund would allow Tony to eventually start getting more people on board. You do have a point here. If I search on Google: "who pays Bitcoin developers", the first hit I get says "Funding Bitcoin development seems to have always been problematic". If Byteball can prevent this by reducing the community's share from 98 to 97%, I'd say go for it!

This leaves me with the same question I've had since I first read about smart contracts: how is the smart contract going to know what happened in real life? From your link: We have an oracle that monitors flight delays. How does this oracle know? I can believe the smart contract structure can work, so you don't need to trust any third party insurance company on this, but you now move the uncertain factor elsewhere. I have the same question here: what if these sites are wrong? If you rely entirely on a third party website, you're copying all possible flaws they have. How is this better than using an actual insurance company? Don't get me wrong, I like your projects, just curious if the flaws I can think of can be prevented.

No. It doesn't matter how you play, or what you calculate. Without a house edge, your chance of increasing 10-fold is only 10%. With a house edge, the chance gets slightly smaller (depending on how you play). You can't use previous or simulated results to predict the next result.

Functionality is very good, the one thing that's not so great is the ability to backup, it takes up a huge space (at least the full wallet, dunno about light/mobile versions) The light version doesn't have this problem. I'm wondering if the memory-requirement for a backup of the full version keeps growing over time, it already uses 4 GB ram just for the backup. For that reason I've moved over to the light version. A question about blackbytes. It shows: "This is a private asset, please send it only by clicking links in the chat or send it to your other wallets." How does this work? What if I want to send it to someone who's address I see on this forum: does that give away the identity of my blackbytes?

Something weird happened My scraper labeled some users als double claims for the day. It also gave weird results yesterday. I think (hope!) it's caused by the forum having connection issues. In that case it should solve itself. I'm not sure what went wrong. Sorting out manually exactly who should and who shouldn't get a ticket is too much work for my Sunday. Is it possible to switch from full node to light wallet with Ubuntu?
No. You can create a new light wallet (backup the old one first of course!), send your coins from the old wallet to the new one, move your linked Bitcoins to a new address, and link that address to the new Byteball wallet.
