It might work, but it would exchange efficiency for complications. Since it's already complicated enough, and some people actually lost their private key before I found their addy, it's not worth changing vanitygen for this. Especially for short prefixes. If it works, it could work for large vanity pools, where multiple computers are searching for multiple addresses that pay half a Bitcoin each, but that's outside the scope of this giveaway. |

Freezing Bitcoins requires a hardfork, which will destroy Bitcoin's credibility. Since it's the longest chain that continues, it requires miners' consent, which would destroy the value of their new blocks. So no, it can't be frozen.
But: I've read several times that exchanges and mixers may reject Bitcoins from the Bitfinex hack. This large amount of Bitcoins can be traced back, no matter how often it's moved to different wallets.
If this would happen, the 120,000 Bitcoins can't be spend. In a way, that's the same as being frozen.

This is discouraging. Who are "DT Members", what's "DT"? If you have to ask this, you don't know this forum well enough. You have neither received nor given any trust, while you're on this forum for well over a year. I'm trustworthy (although not yet documented on this forum).
You saying you're trustworthy doesn't mean it's true. Any scammer would say exactly the same! I'm not saying you're a scammer, I'm saying we can't know that. I've handled small escrows (without charge), in a chatbox on another site. I have always been curious to escrow on Bitcointalk too, but I know my trust ratings aren't near close enough to even consider it. And if you would start to escrow, you shouldn't do it for the money. |

Depending on your country you can do the same. A new user asking to buy 1 Bitcoin is kinda suspicious. How do you want to pay for the Bitcoin?

Could the states follow their bitcoin by setting up their own nodes in this way?
That would just create more nodes. All it adds for "the CIA" is knowing an IP, assuming you broadcast your transaction through that specific node. And you can easily hide your IP. It would be naive to think governments are not trying to track certain transactions, but I doubt they're interested in me. |
