The more I use the 1070 the more I think it's not just a 14 nm maxwell card.
Playing with the intensity revealed that some algos prefer a much lower value than, for example, a 970.
There must be something with memory access or, maybe, immature drivers that make higher intensities slower and more "floating" (on some algos only).
Same happened to the early 970 cards with 2x 6 pin power. They trottle if you push them to hard (high intensity). TDP was set at 150Watt, but for the G1 gaming the TDP was 250Watt. and 8pin+6pin. No trottle and 20% faster hashing in most of the algos.
It's not a throttling problem in my case. TDP is set very low.
