2581  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why not tag all bounty hunters? on: May 24, 2022, 07:14:37 PM
If tagging them doesn't work, if the forum doesn't ban their low-quality posts, and if they don't bring anything good at all, can't we just ignore them completely? Don't mention them in Reputation (sorry, I'm guilty too), don't mention them in Scam Accusations, don't look for "alts" as long as they have nothing to lose, don't tag them, but just ignore them completely?
The thing is, no matter the method one user thinks is right in handling the issue, it can't be applied by every single user, if we say 'completely ignore', trust me someone is definitely bringing a new case up in the reputation board sooner than later, it is what it is, and it would be nearly impossible for a general consensus to be reached on the matter. The only thing to do is for users to choose that which they consider most helpful for the forum, for users who feel it is best to ignore, then fine, for those who think tagging is the best option, then they can go ahead and do so, but mind you that tagging them indiscriminately would even be an incorrect use of the trust system, and in the long run could be counter-productive.
2582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a safe haven??? on: May 23, 2022, 08:10:32 PM
Bitcoin to me is a big safe heaven that had saved the lives of investors who has invested in it when the price was still little.
Remember that people have also lost funds with it, but many of them are short term/get rich quick investors, Bitcoin is a long term project, and speculators who speculate with the price are to expect returns in the long run, but in the short term there can be quite a lot of drop/plunge/correction, call it whatever, but it could lose a lot in the short period to volatility, it does not hold its value for a long period of time, that is why it is not a safe haven asset, or a sort of store of value like Gold is.
If I'm given a situation to store all of my money into crypto except stable coins, I would preferrably put it all into bitcoin since it survives many bear market among all the tokens.
Bitcoin would prolly be the best to do such with, but please never consider that option, lol, that would be investing more than you can afford to lose.

FC Bayern extends Manuel Neuer's contract until 6.2024. This means he would be for 13 years in a row for FCB. He is 36 years old and possibly his last extension as goalkeeper. And he remains captain of the team. Manuel Neuer is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and was World Champion with Germany in 2014. He has won so many titles, 10 German Championships and 2x the Champions League. But at 36, his reflexes are slowing down and he will have to be replaced in the next years.
Neuer has won absolutely everything, and it now seems more like he is going to retire at the club, they are absolutely going to struggle to replace him when he actually leaves, but i am pretty sure Bayern are already lining up his long term replacement. It is always good when a club has one standout keeper that would produce brilliant performaces every season and stick with the club for many years like Neuer has done with the German Champions, it is great cause the club would have one less position to worry about for many years, goodluck to Bayern and Neuer going forward.

The recent matches for Man U and West Ham have been disappointing...
Manchester United have been more disappointing, as a matter of fact they have disappointed their fans all through out the season, down to the last day, when you take a look at their budget and the quality of players they have, they really shouldn't be competing with a team like West Ham for a Europa League spot, it is embarrassing.
Man U were very lucky that West Ham failed to beat Brighton
I was actually surprised by that result, West Ham had the chance to qualify for the Europa League again, but they chose to turn off on a very important day for them, after having such a fantastic season, too bad to say the least.
2585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 23, 2022, 04:46:54 PM
But I think there might be a little disappointment with Liverpool if Liverpool fails to win the Champions League Trophy.
Losing out on the EPL title to City puts a bit of pressure on Liverpool to be honest, yes i know they have won two trophies this season, but let us be honest, they are both domestic cups, the major trophies are the EPL and the CL, City took the former from them, and they have to battle Madrid for the latter in a few days time, if they lose, they are definitely going to be disappointed, it does not imply they had a bad season, not at all, what it just means is that their performances deserved much better.

Having said that, a big congratulations to City, what a way to win the league, i thought it was going to be a pretty straightforward victory, but i was wrong, i think City like to win in dramatic fashion, and they did the same again yesterday, just as they did some ten years ago; over to next season, with Haaland now in the team, things can only get much better.
2586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could inheriting Bitcoin from love ones be that difficult? on: May 22, 2022, 02:37:00 PM
investors are actually worried about this but some of us might not want to go too technical in this regard as @BlackHatCoiner explained and I think a simple sealed instruction with your wallet private keys with your lawyer for the family to be opened after that incident would be easier for some but somehow, this is something to be highly considered.
That would then mean you trusting your lawyer with your funds, that is not so much of an easy thing to do especially when the sum involved is a pretty large sum, coupled with the fact the the Bitcoin network is a 'trustless' one, it would of course be much better to 'trust' the network rather than an individual. IMO, it would be better to go with a trustless method, and even if i decide not to, i would rather give my keys/phrase to my spouse and siblings than leave it with someone outside of the family. But having said that, we all come from different families, thus it is still up to every individual to decide how they would want to go about this thing.
2587  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Educational: Bitcoin is technically independent from Altcoins on: May 22, 2022, 11:49:10 AM
A very good recommendation: don't sell Bitcoin when a different Altcoin crashes!
Whenever there is a general drop in prices of cryptocurrency, FUD is bound to set in amongst different investors, and this causes them to sell out of panic. Well, for altcoin hodlers that is prolly the best thing to do, altcoins are short term projects, and you should not try to hold them through a bear market, sell them as soon as possible, even if you are at a loss, it is much better you leave with something, cause you could decide to hodl it, waiting for it to pump again, whereas that is the end of the coin.

Having said that, Bitcoin investors should know better, Bitcoin is a long term project, and if you want to speculate with its price, you have to expect returns in the long run, people who are usually affected by correction/plunge phases like this are get rich quick investors who aren't quite knowledgeable about the network, another section of people who get too worried are also people who go contrary to the rule of thumb of "do not invest more than you can afford to lose", such people can't basically watch their life savings keep dropping, it can do a lot of damage to their health, thus once there is a general drop in the market, they sell immediately, even when they are at a loss.
2588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 21, 2022, 05:17:36 PM
What an end to a thrilling premier league season we are going to have tomorrow, it just had to boil down to the final day, and to be honest, whatever is the outcome, both Liverpool and City can hold their heads pretty high. City take on Villa at the Etihad, while Liverpool play Wolves at Anfield, in my opinion both Liverpool and City are going to win their respective games, which will of course see City retain their title, and claim their fourth EPL crown in five years in the process, that is indeed a massive feat, and pep and his boys deserve an awful amount of credit.

I am pretty sure there is going to be no drama tomorrow, some people are calling on Gerrard to fire his boys up to beat City for Liverpool, and some other people are suggesting we could have a dramatic end like we had some ten years again when Aguero scored and City won the title with 90 seconds left on the clock; none of that will happen tomorrow, it is going to be a straightforward win for City.
2589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 21, 2022, 04:02:12 PM
Of course as the final edges ever closer, the discussion ahead of the game gets more serious as well, in my opinion Real win this one, the way and manner in which they have evaded elimination right from the RO16 till now is phenomenal to say the very least, at some point it more or less seems like it has already been written in the skies that they are going to be champions of Europe this season. They would be going into that game with a very strong mentality, prolly a stronger one than Liverpool, especially if City win the EPL tomorrow, the pressure would fall back heavily on Liverpool, cause they would know the CL remains their only chance of a major silverware this season.
  • Become the Champions League Top Scorer.
  • Give Real Madrid the 2022 Champions League.
  • Become a Ballon d'Or winner.
The first and second on your list are achievable for Benzema on the 28th of May, depending on the outcome of the match, both on a personal and team level; but as for the last one, there is no way to be certain that Benzema would win the next Ballon d'or if Madrid wins the CL this season, i know it will place him in a very strong position, but there is still a lot of football to be played this year, and there is the WC as well in Qatar.
2590  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware DO NOT GET SCAMMED: Recovery wallet scam! on: May 21, 2022, 11:23:42 AM
the bot will record any of the balance changes and it will then instantly send the ether out to the thief address.
Who is the thief here by the way, if you ask me it is the person who is trying to import someone else's funds with their recovery phrase, thus i wouldn't mind if they turn out to be in the receiving end in their attempt to steal. If you try to steal from someone else and get robbed in the process, it is fair enough to say you can have no complaints right?
2591  Economy / Economics / Re: How DCA Could Have Prevented Your from Losing More on: May 21, 2022, 10:11:23 AM
This is the understanding of the investors that does this, they're all long term.
Yes, since the investor would be investing over a certain (long) period of time, they obviously should have the intention of hodling whatever asset it is for the long term. Short term investors are all about going in all at once with a large sum and hope for a pump around that time so they could pull out with their profit, that is a very risky strategy, especially for newcomers who are just investing in an asset for the first time. If one is patient enough, and is ready to stick to their DCA plan religiously, then they would prolly be able to grow something really worthwhile in the long run, without really stressing their finances in the short period, which is the best part of it all.

Friendly people who try to honestly participate in the life of the forum. This is a good example for everyone else.
Thank you for the kind words mate. To be honest i am more confident of the outcome of this request than i previously was, i am pretty sure sooner rather than later we would get an update (hopefully positive) from the admin. I am also sure quite a lot of us never expected our request to be granted immediately, those of us that have been around for quite a long while know that it takes time before 'new things' are implemented in the forum, so on the strength of that we can be somewhat certain that the silence we are currently greeted with doesn't denote a no for an answer to our request.

Having said that, everyone should just go about their business of contributing to the forum with as much effort they can offer, and also to keep the local thread active as we wait for some sort of response from the admin.
2593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 20, 2022, 07:14:43 PM
Arsenal's dream of playing in the Champions League has probably come to an end after losing the last two matches. Tottenham are now 2 points ahead of Arsenal. And Tottenham's last match was against Norwich. Tottenham will easily win this match too. Only a loss to Tottenham points would give Arsenal a chance to qualify for the Champions League.
I can't see Spurs losing to already relegated Norwich on the last day of the season, so sorry to Arsenal fans, but it seems it is going to be Europa League football for them next season, it is a really disappointing end to the season for Arsenal, they had their destiny in their own hands, but two losses in their last two games have put Spurs back in the driving seat and only needing just a point against Norwich to qualify for the CL next season. I feel really sorry for Arteta, he did a very nice job this season, but he couldn't put the icing on the cake with CL football next season, what the gunners have to do now is to pick/dust themselves up and start getting ready to compete next season.
2594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 40 high schools in Argentina to launch bitcoin in their curriculum. on: May 20, 2022, 06:25:31 PM
With inflation above 50% in Argentina, I think they will soon accept bitcoin as legal.
Making Bitcoin a legal tender wouldn't help them actually, don't get me wrong, if it was in my power i would wish every country to make Bitcoin a legal tender. But to think about it, a country struggling with inflation wouldn't or rather shouldn't think about accepting an alternative currency, i don't think or see how that can help their situation at all. So i am pretty sure the Argentine government aren't considering the above i'm afraid.
2595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 19, 2022, 05:20:33 PM
It is surprise to see Leeds United in delegation zone and has high risk to be delegated. Just one season ago, they played very good in Premier League and now things changed. It seems they only can bring surprise to other clubs because they ranked up and opponents did not understand well about Leeds United. When surprise gone, Leeds United lose their ability to get points and fall down to delegation area.
They were really good last season to say the least, tbh they looked like a team that was going to stay in the league and become a regular mid-table team, but it doesn't look to be so, from my assessment they are going to be relegated, while Burnley and Everton would be 'saved'. I think right from the start of this season it was obvious Leeds were in trouble, Bielsa was no longer getting things right, his team didn't just lose games, they conceded quite a lot of goals in the process; a new coach was brought in, but they were already well on their way to the Championship by then.

Having said that, the good thing for their fans is that their team is not too bad, and if they only manage to lose a few players if they get relegated, then they can return back to the EPL sooner rather than later.
2596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 19, 2022, 02:17:54 PM
Even though Everton lost to Brentford, all they need is one more win to stay up. Hopefully, they'll get it at Goodison Park with Crystal Palace.
I think Everton will stay up, prior to the Brentford loss they picked up vital wins and that is what has kept them in a strong position to escape the drop, and as i view things at the moment, they would not get relegated, i strongly believe they would win their next game, and that would be enough to keep them in the EPL for at least another season. Leeds look like the team that is going to complete the trio heading back to the Championship, Burnley have a much better chance of staying up, and except a miracle happens, it is going to be goodbye to Norwich, Watford and Leeds.
2597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 18, 2022, 07:34:28 PM
Today i watched an interview with an transfer expert from Sky UK and he said that there are realistic chances that Mane is leaving Liverpool after this season. He also said that Mane is not that happy at Liverpool at the moment because he feels that he does not get the same level of appreciation as Mohammed Salah even though their numbers are pretty identical.
I do not believe this rumor, Mane doesn't look unhappy at Liverpool, as a matter of fact why would he be unhappy, just take a look at what Liverpool have achieved this season, and he has been pivotal and as important as any other player in their pursuit of an unprecedented quadruple. What sort of 'appreciation' did the 'expert' particularly talk about, because it makes no sense to me, the Liverpool faithful love Mane, just as much as they love Salah, and every other player that represents their club, and in every team there is always a fan favorite, a player the fans tend to love slightly more than others, and many times it doesn't mean such player is the best in the team.

Footballers are complete professionals, they do not worry about things such as this, as long as the team is winning trophies, and they are getting game time and also being paid well, then they cannot have any problems at all. Even if Mane is going to leave Liverpool, it isn't going to be for a reason as frivolous as this.
2598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 18, 2022, 07:04:59 PM
I as a Liverpool supporter Gerrard's heart remains will be touched for Liverpool's victory and this is one, assistance from Aston Villa through his coach had to hold on to a draw Mancity.
It is funny how people are calling on Gerrard to help Liverpool beat City with Villa, there is nothing much Gerrard can do other than send his boys out like he does in every matchday and hope they put up a good performance, and that is the same thing he is going to do on the final game of the season when they face City, Gerrard isn't going to magically imbibe them with the needed quality to beat City, that's not possible.

Having said that, for people who want Villa to win City so Liverpool can win the league, i am sorry, that's not going to happen, City are going to be too strong for Villa on that day, and i am pretty sure there is not going to be any drama, it is going to be a straightforward win and City will be crowned champions.
2599  Other / Meta / Re: How do you feel when someone gives you MERIT? on: May 18, 2022, 07:34:15 AM
Some users would say it depends somewhat on the rank of the user, for example a newbie would prolly be overly excited to get a couple of merits here and there cause it helps them rank up (and tbh, every user wants to rank up, even if they claim otherwise), and a Legendary user would be happy to receive merits cause it shows someone likes/appreciates/think what they wrote is good/recognizes their efforts, etc, even if it does nothing for them in the grand scheme of things (as they have no other ranking up to do), except that it allows them apply for good campaigns that have a merit criteria (like x amount of merits in the last 120 days).

Overall the merit system is great for the forum, it combats spam and reduces it to a large extent, though it doesn't eradicate it which is not possible, but it has a really positive impact, and any user should feel great when they get some, except those who totally do not care about the merit system (whether sending or receiving).

I also don't relate Manchester United to Kylian Mbappe right now. There haven't been even any rumours about him to be linked with them. And it is doubtful whether Manchester United would be able to meet his demands as well. They aren't even in the Champions League next season. So why would Mbappe like to go there rather than joining his dream team. I think Mbappe will make up his mind soon and he will end up with Real Madrid after.
Is that the latest rumor on the future of Mbappe, this is complete rubbish, prolly the worst of all the rumors on the next move of the French man, i am completely unaware of this as i have not seen it anywhere else other than here, it is even crazy to suggest that Mbappe would end up in United, a club currently in their worst at the moment, that would be a terrible move for his career. To be honest it is impossible, rather than move to United he is better of at PSG, they (PSG) are in the CL, United are not, and they can offer him more money than United can, If Mbappe is leaving Paris, it would definitely be to Madrid.
