2581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing In ICO's vs Investing AFTER The ICO on: January 13, 2019, 03:03:59 PM
I see a lot of people wondering if they should invest in ICO's. I think the best option for any potential investor is to wait until the ICO ends, THEN invest. For instance, Nauticus was an ICO that started back in March. They recently launched their exchange and have been doing pretty good. Prices are only down 30% from the ICO price. That is a GOOD sign, BUT the prices still fell! This was a high quality project that raised $19,000,000. If they're falling a little bit due to the bear market, then you can expect 99% of the other ICO's currently out there to fall as well. It's all going to be dependent on the market, but in terms of risk I think it's better off if you just wait, THEN invest after the product launches. At the end of the day DYOR! It's imperative that you guys understand that we are in a bear market. Even the best projects like Nauticus, Ethereum, Bitcoin, NEO ect are all falling. I would assume that they won't fall forever tho Tongue

Nauticus Exchange - https://nauticus.exchange/exchange/

Please, try to find at least couble of legit ICOs which raised money and gain at least a small profit for last 6 months? I don't think that we should invest in ICOs at all, because there are so many high-quality cheap TOP projects at the market atm.
2582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Classic - 1.1 Million USD Stolen Through 51% attacks on: January 13, 2019, 02:59:07 PM
I haven't seen this news yet in Altcoin Discussion, so I thought I'd share the article here.
Hackers have stolen 1.1 million USD on Coinbase by doing double spends, after they'd gotten control of more than 50% of the mining hashrate.

Quote
Ethereum $ETH▲1.15% Classic, one of the most popular forks of the second most valuable cryptocurrencies by market cap has suffered a 51-percent attack.

After Chinese blockchain security firm SlowMist raised the alarm, an analyst at CoinNess dug a little deeper. The analyst found that a private mining pool had managed to increase its hash power to 3,263 GH/s, making it – temporarily – the most powerful mining pool at around 11:00am UTC on 6 January.

After this brief spike in power, the mining pool returned to its normal state of around 300 GH/s. However, ten hours later the same thing happened again, and the pool’s hash rate began to climb. At the time CoinNess’ article was published the illicit mining pool’s power equated to around 63-percent of the total network hash rate.

Shortly after these attacks Coinbase paused all Ethereum Classic transactions, it initially detected that around 88,500 ETC ($460,000) had been double-spent. However, the cryptocurrency exchange has since uncovered another 12 attacks that “included double spends, [now] totaling 219,500 ETC ($1.1 million).”

At least 14 double spends were detected!

I'm shocked that there is no dump and ETS is still in TOP-20 at CMC and the volume is still pretty high. Don't you think guys that it's really terrible and ridiculous at the same time?
2583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Its Ethereum on: January 12, 2019, 07:39:50 PM
I have couple of ethereum holders as friend and right now they are in worries about the upcoming hardfork ,well this is my opinion
-the upcoming hardfork is just an upgrade ,don't expect extra coins for holding ETH
-its ethereum damn it, If you are thinking it might lose value after the upgrade you are wrong ,I don't say its impossible but of all coins out there ETH stands out ,its no shit coin and remember the dev is a smart guy ,he knows what's best ,either it goes POS or not ETH is still a champ
Don't dump or live to regret it.

I'll pick up every single eth if it drops below 20$, really Smiley I don't believe that it could happen, but it's the market and if something goes wrong and everybody is panic - let it be so. I'm too long at this market to panic sell with every single market drop.
2584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC should be for big whales on: January 12, 2019, 07:31:48 PM
I think that ICOs (or it's better to say STOs) should use KYC projects like civic and so on. I hate to give my personal data and docs to everyone I don't even know. Why should I risk with my documents to give someone money? It's a total bullshit.
2585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: do we still have hope to be able to see bull run?? on: January 12, 2019, 07:23:08 PM
I firmly believe that 2019 will be the same as 2015. 2015 was the year of accumulation and slow taking off. Most probably we'll see the same thing in 2019. I'd like to see the bull market as early as possible, but the world has it's own rules, especially about crypto Wink
2586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / 4-year market cycle approach on: January 12, 2019, 07:17:33 PM
Hey guys, I've just seen a video about 4-year cycle model on BTC (and overall) market price. I wonder what do you folks think about it. For me this model looks pretty realistic to be truth.

2587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Next Bullrun on: January 11, 2019, 06:57:41 PM
I don't like to make predictions, but here are my expectations. The bottom will probably be in Q1-Q2 2019, a slight but consistent upward movement will begin around Q3-Q4 2019. The real bull run will happen after the halving.
2588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 promising altcoins you invested? on: January 11, 2019, 06:20:26 PM
Now I'm fully in USD, but when time comes I'll definitely invest in ADA, QTUM, LTC, NEM and a little bit of Aion. Aion has been dropped more than 98% since the all time high. I guess it could become a real deal when bulls come back.
2589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you plan to do with ETH and ETH Classic coins? on: January 10, 2019, 05:42:35 PM
I don't have any ETC, but if so I would definitely get rid of them ASAP. I'm really shocked that ETC is still at TOP-20. There wasn't any serious dump because of recent 51% attack. As for me it's terrible. BTW take a look here https://www.crypto51.app/. There are costs of 51% attack for different coins and it doesn't look good for most of projects on the market.
2590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So many altcoins. What are their REAL use? on: January 10, 2019, 05:33:33 PM
I'd like to use alts, but there is no useful application for it. Today I use only BTC and ETH. I can pay for almost any kind of internet service in BTC or ETH (VPS, VPN, Proxy and so on). But there is a fact that common people don't use any of them, so there is no natural demand.
2591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bounty hunter paid USDT? on: January 10, 2019, 05:28:56 PM
Yeah, I'd be glad to get the reward in any legit stablecoin. But, there is always but))) Very few projects have anough funds from the very beginning. Let's assume there is a legit project and it has enough money. Why should it conduct an ICO? There are many other classical ways to raise money through VC, investors, fundraising platforms and so on. Don't get me wrong, I like the crypto market, but now it's a really bad idea to make an ICO, as well as bounty campaign.
2592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO coming soon. Would you like to be the very first to know about it? on: January 10, 2019, 05:23:20 PM
Actually I'm kinda allergic to ICOs already after such a prolonged fall of the market. I guess that conducting of an ICO now is just like a suicide. Most probably your expenses on promotion will be much higher than you can raise during the ICO. Nevertheless good luck to you)
2593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Less price = more profit? on: January 08, 2019, 10:02:25 AM
Friends, does it make sense to take very cheap altcoins <$ 1? I think about buying, but I am interested in your opinion. Will they leave the market and exchanges, with such a strong fall?

In my opinion only the market cap matters. Plus the reliability of a project. My strategy is the following:
Profit = ATH / Current price
Risk = Current price / Min(18 months bottom, ATH - 95%)

Profit / Risk should be more than 3. There are a lot of projects which have Profit/Risk ratio more than 10 and even 20.
2594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which do you think is best to invest in btc or Eth on: January 08, 2019, 09:49:12 AM
I'd like to have more diversified porfolio, that includes BTC (not less than 80%), ETH, LTC, ADA, QTUM. Can't say why exactly but there are a lot of reasons because BTC could have the best performance during the next bull market.

2596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you think things does not work out as you planned, remember this guy!!! on: January 05, 2019, 06:25:18 PM
So I stumbled on this picture somewhere on redit and decided to share it here especially for the newbies

This guy was a hero I would say, because he stands as a real lesson and an example to many of us.

Teaching us to stay strong and never give up.

It's just a wonderful picture! I've never seen it before, but I saw a lot of others)) We are too busy with current price levels and never think in an appropriate scale. It's really funny to see this kind of "memes", but the truth is that we all are in the exact same situation now (in relation to 3-5 years from now) Wink))
2597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Postponed ICO after bounty campaign on: January 05, 2019, 06:19:45 PM
If the team did a bounty campaign already for weeks and postponed the ICO after they  see the bear market hasn't yet ended, do you think they are best to wait for the market to get better or just continue the ICO?

If they already have a working product, why not jsut continue the  ICO after all, they  just need few funds.
By the way Lyfe Project collected overwhelming  funds in  this bear market.

Here are list of projects that did it;

blackbox
WeiDEX
BXBET

I think they also claimed they do have a working product.

If I'd be in such kind of situation, I'd rather try to find some venture/angel investors. Nobody invests in ICOs nowadays, so there is 99% chance of fail.

PS
I can't understand the reason why and how new ICO projects pop up))
2598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum hardfork on: January 05, 2019, 06:12:40 PM
Nowa is a scam.

Classic Vision is a shitcoin :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5089443.0

The only real fork is the Constantinople one.

+100500

Constantinople fork is of course a significant step forward to PoS, but still it's just a preparation. There is huge amount of work ahead to achieve their plans. Hopefully they will be on time and nobody will take the place of the most advanced and usable smart contract platform.
2599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulation good or bad? on: January 05, 2019, 06:03:59 PM
Regulation is crucial for the crypto industry to go further and become widespread just like Internet in late 90s. Regulation means governments take crypto into account. Actually it's a threat for financial system, but now it's already pretty serious to be noticeable.
2600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH return to 1000 USD after hardfork? on: January 04, 2019, 09:01:20 PM
Of course it will. The main question is when Grin I predict it will happen around 2020-2021. In my opinion the topic is not correct. Plus the price always grows before the event. As it says - buy the rumor, sell the news Wink
