Think carefully, what is the reason for implementing the merit system?

It is to fight with spams, but now, has this battle been won?

The battle has only just begun, my friend. I hope theymos scorches the earth of villainy and only the true heroes are left standing.

In all fairness, the outcome of this battle is far from meeting its expectations.

We're always open to suggestions to make this place better, but compromises need to be found.

When we browse the forum, we can always see a lot of meaningless posts in any section and this posts were born very fast, often when we read a topic over and want to read the next topic, we will find that the next topic can't be found. when we try to find the next topic, it has been squeezed into Page 2, even after page 3.The fact is that there are not so many people in the real reply, but because a large number of jr.member are completing their signature bounty missions. When you check posting history of these accounts, you will see that many accounts have more than 100 active, but 99% of the posts are airdrop proofs or social media links, are there any posts in these posts that communicate with others? No, none of them.Because these accounts are only for bounty/airdrops, they have no soul.

Well that's what things like the merit system are for. We need to go further, but hopefully over time people will realise that posting crap will get you nowhere.

Therefore, they are not worthy of the benefits of bounty/airdrops. To some extent, bounty/airdrops are a boon to the BTT Forum for qualified members.

I care very little about bounties. Let the shitposters abuse them as long as they're confined to the bounty section. As long as they're not spamming the forum and ruining the usability of that for everyone else then so be it.
2582  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: September 17, 2018, 01:10:09 PM

Let the thousands of metrit posts begin.....

BTW - this shitposter has 1100 posts and 0 metrit (0 merit too)

Holy cannolis, I was dying laughing for a good couple of minutes there! "i post so much post" - yes you do, friend... yes you do.

P.S. - He's made at least 4 posts begging for merit but can't seem to decide how to spell the word: metrit, metric and merit, so far.

He's copy and pasting as well:

Definitely! At the the start we can say that product do not play a main role yet since more of the investors are checking on the team that will going to work, the market they are targeting and the their vision. Once all is in place, product will be the main key to make the project a success. Also, even if the project won't hit at the early stage but if the product is enticing, give it a time and it will surely boom.

. For the task, at any rate outlining this item is important to attempt the test form, the creation of the group is likewise vital while picking ICO ., but i think you advertise kickcity good advertising but people will choose the legit one and not a scam ico because their money would be wasted if they choose to have wrong move.. Also, even if the project won't hit at the early stage but if the product is enticing, give it a time and it will surely boom.

The users that are kicking up the most fuss in Meta will be those who are abusing the system to the max and I'd bet a bollock this isn't the only account he's doing this on. The ones who are hurt the most will be those with dozens of accounts hence the such extreme butthurt so when anyone complains just check their accounts and you'll likely find something a miss. Found a few copy and pasters this morning alone just from the whingers.
2583  Other / Meta / Re: When can i get metrit? on: September 17, 2018, 01:03:30 PM
You people are missing the entire point of merit. The merit system is to stop users exactly like you who have absolutely no interest in contributing anything here other than to the forum's destruction and you are only here to earn at any cost. The merit system is to stop you from doing this:

I've just messaged those the details that have paid so look out for that. If you've paid and didn't receive the message just shoot me a PM and I'll look into it.

If anyone else wants to join then just let me know. Tournament starts tomorrow so not long left. Prize pot is currently at 0.08500001 and hopefully a few more users will be joining before tomorrow. Let's try to get it to 0.1 at least.
2585  Other / Meta / Re: Community generated suggestions to improve the forum (+ eventual voting on them) on: September 17, 2018, 12:03:01 PM
I'm not going to respond here in detail to all of these ideas. It'd be extremely long. I will classify them as OK/maybe/no:
Quote
• Require at least one merit to become a Junior Member (bots will never rise past Newbie status then and can be nuked once spotted).
No. Or not yet. Or the idea would need to be significantly modified.
This was one of the most needed improvements, and I know many users support it. But from the "No", I never expected this would be the first suggestion that gets implemented!

1 down about tree fiddy to go. I was surprised by this and I'm glad theymos came round to it and I hope he starts to take more of my suggestions on board, but I still don't think this goes far enough though. I agree with one merit to become Junior but we should also remove Junior's signatures. Requiring ten merit to become a Member and get a sig would really sort the wheat from the chaff here. Far too easy to beg, buy or trade one merit and this will become rife. Ten is a much different ball game and becomes exponentially more difficult the more accounts you have. I think the users with one account will struggle but the people who are farming en mass will probably have earned enough money to buy merit and then trade it around their various accounts and I think this is something we're going to have to keep an eye out for.
2586  Other / Meta / Re: Before you give merit to a newly-demoted newbie... on: September 17, 2018, 11:57:56 AM
Yeah, users who's entire post history is just one/two liners probably don't deserve merit because they're just putting in the bare minimum to appear like they're not spamming and contributing, but they are spamming and contribute very little. I agree with one merit to become Junior but we should also remove Junior's signatures. Requiring ten merit to become a Member and get a sig would really sort the wheat from the chaff here. 2587  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 17, 2018, 11:52:28 AM
This will not change things for the better... Not all newbies are spamers. And they can spam now as they did before.

How will a newbie create an announcement post, a serious one, without pictures in it???

 Shocked

Buy a Copper Membership.

We need to mention @hilariousetc for his/her contribution and the impact he/she put up on the theymos for initiating this new requirement.

Sorry, but did you just assume I was one of only two genders? I use the pronouns ve/vis. #triggered.

2588  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images on: September 17, 2018, 10:36:59 AM
Bumping this one with request go get temporary pinned.. It will decrease the amount of complains posted on Meta for not working ANN images.

It probably would be better to put either this and/or the new Merit requirement update in the "News" section at the top. At least everyone can see it then and there's probably be going to be a hell of a lot of users confused or complaining about it today and over the next week or so as people start to realise something has changed.
2589  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 17, 2018, 10:00:43 AM
I'm glad you did this and it's going to help a lot but I still don't think it goes far enough. Why can't we remove signatures from Juniors as well and require ten merit to get one when they become a Member? Those who have farmed dozens or hundreds/thousands of accounts will just buy or trade the merit or purchase a Copper Membership because when they're making thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars from farming bounties/campaigns this is just a minor inconvenience. Making them get ten merit per account is significantly more difficult and expensive and abuse would also be easier to spot. A lot of one merit abuses will just fly under the radar.

One reason that I was hesitant to do this before is that there are an awful lot of newbie restrictions, and I don't want the forum to be unwelcoming to good newbies. I'll think about tying some of those to activity instead of rank in the future.

I don't think it is unwelcoming and good posters won't have much issue in getting ten merit. A truly great post or two could get you that alone. I understand the reasoning that we shouldn't be putting restrictions from actually posting, but removing their signatures or requiring more merit doesn't effect that at all. The issue here is one merit still isn't difficult to get and I'm not sure how much it will dent the people who are doing the most damage here. I think the huge farmers will just cough up money for the Copper Membership or trade merit between themselves if one is all they need. Is there a place that lists all new Copper Memberships purchased? That would be helpful to keep an eye on as if we see hundreds of users purchasing it abuses will still be easy to spot.

Yeah, I understand that it feels a little bit too harsh to implement this new system. However, it helps to contain the current spam problem.

One merit is harsh? It's not harsh enough. It effects a person's ability to post here zero and the worst of abusers here will still just find a way around it.

I think you should consider the ability to buy merit for yourself. You can already effectively do this by way of purchasing a copper membership. Based upon the fact that well under 1% of active users have received a single merit, there need to be additional ways for people who do not post garbage to rank up.

Further, if people are buying access to additional features such as signatures, they have an added incentive to not post crap, and the cost will serve as a deterrent to those who have ranked up from posting complete garbage.

I would be against buying merit or ranks, but as I have mentioned before buying the benefits of ranks via things like Silver/Gold Memberships should still be considered and would be beneficial in numerous ways.

I think you should consider the ability to buy merit for yourself. You can already effectively do this by way of purchasing a copper membership. Based upon the fact that well under 1% of active users have received a single merit, there need to be additional ways for people who do not post garbage to rank up.

Buying merit or normal ranks is like buying yourself a bunch of trophies to put on your shelf. It's stupid, and it's an insult to everyone who achieved it legitimately. I can't see ever doing that. I don't particularly mind letting people pay for some of the privileges of these things, such as with copper membership, but it should be a parallel system.

As I just said above, I agree, but why not extend this logic to people buying accounts as well? If that's ok then I think we should add the additional Silver and Gold Memberships as there are numerous benefits to this and it significantly reduces the account selling/scamming market. If people can buy accounts here then let them buy the benefits of them from the forum instead which is win win. It's going to happen anyway so why not make it safer for everyone and drive down the demand for farmed and hacked accounts in the process?

Copper membership is good. Now, if you want to participate in signature campaigns, you can either pay the $10-$20 for copper membership or accomplish the herculean task of making one good post. I don't think that it's unreasonable in either case.

I think it's too cheap though. I think we should make Copper Membership as just some sort of basic whitelisting function ie you can post images and post a little faster, but not allow a signature. Then if you want a signature buy the more expensive Silver and Gold Memberships. If you're earning tens of thousands here then paying $10-20 isn't much even over your dozens to hundreds/thousands of accounts, especially if you can make that back with a few posts on a signature campaign.

If people are making good posts but are still struggling to get merit, then that's a problem with the merit system and should be fixed on my end. Demanding money in order to bypass a broken system would be really bad. But AFAICT the merit system actually is reasonably effective at identifying good posters.

Adding more merit sources to meet demand over time will fix this, but you can still either earn merit and ranks the natural way or cough up money to bypass that. You'd still be a zero-merit/activity whatever member so it's not like they're buying ranks but I think buying a bigger signature should be an option, especially if we allow users to do this by buying accounts anyway which is such a shady black market already where scamming is rife.

Hello, my friends.
I understand that this affects the display of images created by TS.

for example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5025885.0

I got very upset
  Cry

help me, I ask you

Buy a Copper Membership or get the merit.

It is difficult to receive a Merit from members who have merit. If I say that there are many people selling their merit, do you believe it? .There are people who post hundreds of content but they do not receive any merit.

If you're making hundreds of posts and never get merit then the issue probably lies with you so take a look at your posts and those of others who are getting merit and try work out where you're going wrong.

not all jr.member spamming, but why are we generalized to a newbie, even though many of them are late trying to make good posts, but it's hard now we get merit, are they the ones we fear if many get merit they will feel Compared to the bounty program, I feel that those of us above are worried that if many of us get merit, the amount of prizes from the bounty will decrease because the bounty cursed the pool system, therefore many members here are trading merit and accounts, is this fair, many of them 1 person who has more than 1 account, this is not fair

Boo-hoo. Nobody said all Juniors are spamming. If you can't earn a merit then either buy a Copper Membership or go away.

I quite agree with you, most merit holders don't want to share because they don't want more people competing with them on signature bounty campaigns

Oh do shut up. We don't want people like you who have ruined the forum by copy and pasting content over god knows how many accounts:

The EOS and TRON platforms are shaping up to be great platforms in the crypto space, EOS (EOS) and TRON (TRX) are great blockchain projects that could go on to deliver great results both for their community of investors and the public. EOS seeks to transform and decentralize the cryptocurrency trading industry by providing a platform that makes it easy and cheaper to trade and exchange crypto assets, for me  EOS looks a better proposition for now

The reason why altcoins exist is because the original bitcoin software was and is open source, so people made their own varients of bitcoin. Whether or not we need all these altcoins is irrelevent.

Focus on a consistent  process  and Growing size If you can become consistent in your trading process in terms of executing your edge and your money management, and you have a positive trade expectancy sizing properly is essential for growing your trades.  Some traders trade too big too quickly, which causes inconsistency and usually a large setback.

http://www.staceyburketrading.com/5-ways-improve-trading/

YOU are the reason for why we need these restrictions and why it should be more than just one merit because I'm sure someone would have given one of your copy and pasted posts merit eventually.

I want to add! Cryptocurrency is made for decentralization and the forum should be the same, and with your new rules you make your forum centralized!!!

Oh, it's very decentralized. It uses the VWYF algorithm (now with added blockchain™) to ensure complete decentralization. How it works is very simple: if you don't like it, go make your own forum.

Admins!!! What you have done will lead to the fact that now massively will sell merit and who will not share it! Or you are interested in it themselves( to sell merit)? What you have done I believe is illegal! Think again, while the community has not found another forum!!!

Illegal? LOL. Theymos, please look into all this whiners. I'm sure these will be the idiots with hundreds to thousands of accounts.

That means, that i need to buy merit, just to rank up?
I been doing a lot of post, but never had a merit.
What should i do?

Make good posts
Huh
profit

PMSL. Someone create one to petition theymos to either require more merit or remove signatures altogether. In fact, lets remove signatures completely until you get an insane amount of merit (500+). Then you really will have to sing for your supper. You people are pure cancer.

Respected bitcointalk admistratior and moderators how about the member (Jr member) who turns into jr member before 1 September remains Jr member but who create account after 1 September required at least 150 or 200 activity point to promote into Jr member this is just my suggestion please think about it.

How convenient, Mr I Registered Before 1st of September.

I think this is good, bring fairness to the active members, and join in for a long time.
I only regret that I joined Bitcointalk too late.  Cry

It's never too late to get merit.

I totally understand the move because of so many shitposts that people place to make the signature requirements. Only why not just change the option to wear a signature to members+. So with 10 merits or more?

I am a BountyHunter, trying to build up a little portfolio of cryptocurrencies because I truly believe in the blockchain. Since I have no money to invest and missed the 2017 hype, Bountyhunting is the only way for me to do so.

Because of the demotion to Newbie, I cannot enter most bounty campaigns anymore and seriously reduces my ability to earn some crypto in a fair way.

Another thing I noticed in the merit system: almost all merit goes to people who already have merit. It's like in society, where rich people, like to be around rich people and help each other getting richer. If a newbie (or poor guy) comes up with something he/she often does not get the credit for it.

I would have given you a merit until you started with the rich get richer bollocks. Make good posts and you'll get merit. Nobody gives a fuck here how rich you are. All we care about is cleaning up the forum from the shitposting scum that have ruined it for everyone. Make posts with effort and people will give you merit.

merit=salvation.
2590  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos, can we do something for you?? on: September 16, 2018, 01:27:49 PM
A lot of the suggestions I've seen are fixes for relatively minor issues, but the major ones and the ones I wish he'd really consider have to do with the shitposting situation.  I agree with him that even small changes can have huge (and probably unintended/unexpected) effects, but things like adding more moderators ought to be a no-brainer.  Things like adding a merit requirement to rank up to Jr. Member would at least be a good experiment to see what happens, and it isn't like that kind of decision would have to be set in stone.  Hell, Theymos could do away with the merit system if he thought it wasn't working and there would be nothing any of us could do about it.  There would be no shame in doing so, either.

Removing signatures from Newbies/Juniors is essential in my opinion. It effects their ability to post here zero, just earn, but someone who can't speak English very well and has little to no interest or understanding of bitcoin shouldn't be able to get paid to post here and it's crazy that they can. Requiring users to get ten merit and become a Member can be some sort of aptitude test for them and once they pass it by getting the merit then they can start earning via posting. Newbies and Juniors barely have a signature anyway so it's not a huge issue to remove it completely anyway.

And yet it seems like most of the community suggestions aren't priority for him.  His priority is apparently starting up a youtube channel for whatever reason.  I don't actually think that's a horrible idea, but it just shows you how different he views the state of this forum.  There are a number of members here who would probably suggest that he try to fix some of the glaring issues with his limited time instead of doing the youtube thing.

A youtube channel should be very low down on the list of priorities right now, especially if it's going to consume more of his free time which is already obviously limited. If he's going to delegate this to someone else then fair enough, but then there are also a lot of other things that can be delegated that you and I have mentioned numerous times before.

^  How did you know?  Teach us.  Grin

I really thought Palace was gonna drop more points that game, with or without Zaha...

Anyway congrats.  I wish I followed you on that bet, and that crazy one Wendigo did that had no chance of getting 3/3, but it did.  Lmao.

How did I know what? I really wasn't sure with the Palace game but I took a chance on it. Zaha has become somewhat of a good luck charm for palace. When he plays and they're playing nobody special they tend to win and quite a few people say so (though obviously isn't guaranteed).

If anyone want to join the Champions League pool then please see the post here:

Will PM everyone shortly but for those that want to join please send BTC0.005 to 12G1HAD1XjTHX1BNW1N4pmxPWjhHKBzx9g
2592  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos, can we do something for you?? on: September 16, 2018, 11:57:34 AM

Hilarious sec.

If you read what I wrote, you would have understood in what sense the forum is good.

I did read what you wrote. I don't think you read what I did. Nobody cares about traffic when it's full of rubbish. Theymos himself has said he cares little about forum income and has even thought about getting rid of the ad slot, so what good is traffic here? What good is a forum where 99% of it is utter drivel? This board is no longer a place to discuss bitcoin. It's a forum to earn from posting and most people post pure crap. I wouldn't have a problem if people only got paid for great posts but that's not what happens. Signatures have ruined this forum and it would be better off without them and without them people would still be able to get answers to their questions so don't act like signatures are some great thing that are the only thing keeping the board alive because they're not. We could come to some sort of compromise if theymos was willing to do something like removing signatures from lower ranks and punishing ICO campaigns for the spam but when is that going to happen?

Also, if you have any interest or questions regarding bitcoin, you can go to Technical support or technical discussion boards. Go there and ask something like how to recover a wallet, how to choose a wallet, whatever, which are very legit questions that get quickly answered everyday.

Whoop-dee-doo. All this info can be found by googling. What about all this drivel that is everywhere else:

That's what traffic and content signature campaigns bring you when you allow anyone to do whatever they want. Just farmers posting generic nonsense that is being 'text-spun' over multiple accounts.

Maybe you know everything, but this forum helps a lot of people, and helped me a lot already, before I even created an account.

I don't pretend to know everything, and all I can offer is my opinion, but I don't think pretending everything is A-OK isn't the way to go. That's just ignoring the problems we have whilst keeping our heads in the sand.
2593  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos, can we do something for you?? on: September 16, 2018, 11:30:58 AM
...then start delegating the workload otherwise more and more work keeps getting pilled up on him and the rest of staff...
You don't remember? He has trust issues!

Who is he Drake?

we all know the reality for theymos.

...the people you hire turn out not to be trustworthy...

Wasn't he talking about the people he hired to for the new forum software development or hiring someone else to run the forum? I can understand that, but if he doesn't trust existing staff members with certain things here then I'm not sure what we're doing on staff in the first place. How many of us are going to jeopardise our position here and for what? The longer we don't trust others with certain things the board continues to go down the toilet and if theymos isn't going to be doing certain things then somebody needs to be doing them.

-snip-

It's clear he doesn't want to make any of these changes because he likes the traffic that bounty spamming brings. The irony is that as all the real members get bored and leave, all that will be left is spammers spamming other spammers. There's no profit in that, so the campaigns will stop paying for it and then the traffic will really fall.

You can make changes here without effecting the traffic at all, but there needs to be some compromise. Removing signatures from lower ranks doesn't effect anybody's ability to post here and they can still collect bounties, they just can't earn from posting until they've got ten merit. That's a small price to pay and if you can't earn ten merit then you probably don't deserve to earn from posting here in the first place.
2594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cloudbet's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 16, 2018, 11:15:56 AM
Not that confident about the remaining three games from this round. Could go any way. No exiting matches either.

Anyone think Palace will beat Huddersfield? Skybet's enhanced accumulator is Chelsea, Arsenal & Crystal Palace @ 7/1 which I usually put them on, but I'm not so sure about Palace away. I'll need to wait and see if Zaha is playing or not because if he isn't I don't think they'll win. More likely a draw probably.

Looks like you were on the ball with Wilfried as he scored the sole goal and winner. 7/1 would have been a really nice bet, I got just over 4/1 on Arsenal and Liverpool and that went well, even if the scores was a tad too close for comfort.

Chelsea take top spot with Eden Hazard's hattrick taking them 1 better on goal difference, but City again lead the score leaderboards just 5 games in.

I'm going to have to take a real hard look at my scores again. The regular winners keep popping up, the Big 6 are pretty consistent after all, just not worth losing all those points in the hope an upset gives me 3 or even 1.5.

Superbru showed only 53% of players picked a United win, and the way Watford laid siege in the end, a draw might have been a fair result.

May god bless Zaha  Cheesy. Did pretty shit on the predictor and dropped nine places but at least I won £120 on that price boost. SkyBet had an offer of free SkySports for a month as well if you bet £25 as well so that's a nice bonus.

These accounts are text spinning:

These 3 are from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5018533.40, they're definitely using some sort of text spinning bot.

Original: (Although it's probably spinned aswell)

They are earning this much just by using this extension. Are you sure? It seems unreal and not possible. Nothing comes easily in this world.

Some copies that were extremely obvious

"They are earning this abundant simply by victimization this extension. ar you sure? It looks unreal and uphill. Nothing comes simply during this world.
"

They are picking up this much reasonable by utilizing this development. Are you past any question? It shows up staggering and not conceivable. Nothing comes successfully in this world.

They are gaining this much fair by utilizing this expansion. Are you beyond any doubt? It appears stunning and not conceivable. Nothing comes effectively in this world.

The thread itself is filled with people constantly rephrasing each other. I'm not entirely sure whether or not that's bannable, but it's extremely annoying. Some examples below:

There's over 20 replies just today on a thread which has been dead for 2/3 days. I'm suspecting that this might be a single farmer.

this sounds unreal and too good to be true. but i don't know. i want to know more about this. If you want to get $50k a month you should start trading in crypto market. it will make your profit.

that is unreal sound i think it's better to buy bitcoin and hold for a good time. when bitcoin price will grow up than you can sale and get profit its normal. but i have no idea crypto tab i want to know more about this.

I don't know what cryptotab i think That sounds unreal and too good to be true. but i want to know more about this. If you get 50k a month you should start trading in crypto market.

if cryptomarket is that much easy than in the world we will see all the people are rich. without believing on this type of topic we should attentive on our invest and trade.

Cryptotab might be able to get someone a certain amount of money. But I seriously doubt that the amount would be this much. If this could possible, people would have gone rich by this way.

The only possible way we can beat these is to remove signatures from lower ranks. These farmers will struggle to get any amount of merit never-mind ten just for a signature on one account.

Everybody knows there's not enough merit sources (apart from the three that said no) and more and more will need to be added over time, but if theymos isn't going to be restoring accounts then I doubt he's going to be that active in adding more merit sources either and almost certainly won't be able to keep up with demand. If so, he should probably grant some staff or even trusted members of the community the ability to add them, or make more admins who can do this. We could even put them up to a vote between certain members of the community once someone requests to be a source. They could all vet the user and check for any signs of merit abuse and then put it to a vote. If the community votes yes then they could either be made a source by whoever has access to that if that power is granted to others or the info passed on to theymos to add them.

- Is there anything the community can do to help you with the current forum situation?? /Except the reporting/

Personally, I think the current forum situation is very good.

Are you on the same board that I am? Very good in what sense? That you can get paid for shitposting or copy and pasting over your 200 accounts? If so, they yes, it's very good. Great profit. Much spam. Tell all your friends.

Bitcointalk.org is one of the most accessed websites in the world. Look here

https://www.similarweb.com/website/bitcointalk.org

It's 3300 top website in the world.

Most accessed by shitposters.

If anyone ask anything crypto related, he will be answered almost instantaneously, thanks to signature campaigns and many active members like moderators and devs.

Yeah, they'll be answered almost immediately. Often by someone who has no idea what they're talking about. Then you'll get ten pages of responses saying the same thing reworded slightly or just plain wrong. Without signatures here you would still get the answer unbiased and not done so with the motive of profit.

I think this spam asylum in economics, announcements, altcoins etc boards are not a so big problem.
If you remove spammers and spam boards, forum traffic will be much smaller.

And what about every other board? It's practically impossible to have a meaningful conversation about anything in bitcoin discussion these days. All it is is farmers and sig spammers churning out their generic one liners over account after account thread after thread.

So, I think forun is going very well. Drastic adjustments may change that.

All you care about is protecting your little cash cow, because you are clearly blind to all the bullshit that is going on which is 99% of this forum, but hey, if you can keep getting paid then it's all good in the hood and we shouldn't do anything that might jeopardise that.  There doesn't need to be drastic changes like banning signatures but a compromise needs to be found because the spam and low quality content is out of hand.

I think theymos should continue to roll things out at the pace he feels comfortable and not be pressured by community members to make changes.

Theymos barely doing anything is why the forum has become so unfit for purpose. Should we just remain silent and not say anything whilst the forum continues to circle the drain in the process? Many mods are just giving up because they know it's futile trying to do anything. If theymos doesn't have time to do certain things (which he doesn't in his own words) then start delegating the workload otherwise more and more work keeps getting pilled up on him and the rest of staff. How difficult is it to add more staff or assign some dedicated sub board mods? Takes minutes of his time and it's one less thing to worry about and the forum benefits in the process. How difficult would it be to either make more admins or give certain staff access to restore accounts? That would solve the account backlog problem very quickly. The best stuff we get is things like the merit system but it's not enough and has made some things worse. There's not enough merit sources for a start and hundreds of great posts likely go unmerited and because there's no merit requirement to become a Junior that is forcing people to farm thousands of them and they're doing so with copy and paste bots and text spinners. Because there's no quality checks or punishments for badly run ICOs they pay them continually for this abuse. You can literally get paid a lot of money to have two hundred+ accounts copy and pasting someone else's content and in some cases even garbling it up in the process so it becomes even more unreadable. That shouldn't be allowed. The culture needs to change here and theymos ignores 99% of suggestions good or bad. The best we get from him is a 'maybe' then no explanations or follow ups to any questions.  People have been waiting a year to get their account back. Is that acceptable? No, it isn't. Things like removing signatures from Newbies and Juniors seemingly have the backing of the majority of the community and would put a stop to people being able to get paid for shitposts or copy and pastes straight away without them earning ten merit which is going to be very difficult for them and nigh on impossible for the worst of the worse of posters and bots. Punishing ICOs who pay for garbled spam and copy and pastes should also be implemented and the culture of spam would quickly change around here, but the best we get from theymos is still a 'maybe' then silence or no explanations for the 'no's' or 'not yets'.  Meanwhile, people are getting paid by the hundreds to farm accounts and there are multiple example of this that have been spotted the past week or so and they never get looked into:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5025001.msg45434800#msg45434800

I mean, what else can we do? Just wait and hope theymos has all the fixes up his sleeve? I get he's swamped and I certainly wouldn't like to be in his position but ignoring things doesn't make them better or go away and there are quite a few things that could be done in the meantime that make the forum a much better place to be and remove the stress and workload from him and other staff members as well.

I'm very excited about the amazing potential of this project. The most promising project of the year in my opinion. So great to see more and more mature and professional teams entering the market. It will definitely help not-so-tech-savvy people get involved with the crypto space.

But with no source, so googled that post and found the copy here:

Arching_wild  has a fair bit of merit, and noticed he's sent one merit on three separate occasions to kalehon:

Who is registered the same day as him:

I'm sure there's more to be found here.

In either that what is your best memory thread or one like what was the best day of your life someone actually wrote "the day I was born" lol. I tried searching for the post but maybe they got nuked, but I think it was the "what is your best memory" thread because I remember chuckling at the thought of him actually "remembering" his birth  Cheesy.

Really hard to say for me. It's away for Liverpool remember, but Spurs are still playing at Wembley so not exactly like it's their true home turf either but they did play there all last year obviously. Don't think I have the guts to back Liverpool so I'll probably stick with a draw as Spurs aren't going to be easy either for Liverpool.

Yeah its away, but I think if Liverpool can find the right gear they'll see away with Tottenham. I'm going with a very bold win for Liverpool. Tottenham will likely get goals themselves, but I've actually gone for a clean sheet for Liverpool.

Too late for me to change it now, but I went with 1-1 in the end. Liverpool just scored for 0-1 so I've still got a chance here and it's now half time. Not watching it so can't comment on how the game is going though.

I'm not sure. I think the Huddersfield, and Palace game will end up in a draw. Although, if Palace are going to win Zaha will be vital for them.

I'm really not sure about it either, but I'll wait for the line-ups to be announced before I decide. If I do play it though I'll probably put a couple of back up bets on the draw or maybe even Huddersfield win to at least recoup my money.
