261  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Getting some serious harware on: October 12, 2013, 11:22:18 PM
I am interested to a machine of that caliber http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/prospero-x-3.html  its just that I dont know if I can trust the site... I found a few more that do TH/s at the same price more or less but again they are all using bank transfers only or wu... which would be ok by me if I only knew they are the real deal and trustworthy and wont run with my money away

You have gold fever. You know that you just want to mine. You think everyone is probably  lying about it being impractical  because they want it all for themselves. Fortunately your gut is telling you that mining just doesn't add up. It's a big mistake.  Huh

I was just like you. I bought an Asic for $9000. At the time it would have mined 7 coins per day! In a couple of weeks it would have paid for itself right!?  Luckily they never delivered it because the difficulty is now so high it would have never paid for itself. So far the only ones that have received refunds from that company are those with Pay Pal and Credit Card.  That was the smartest thing I did with Asics was  forcing a charge back with my Credit Card. They are dissolving the company. Some out up to $18,000 are organizing to sue them.

If you have to take a loss and get an Asic I would buy from KNC as I think they are one of the few that have delivered, more than what was promised and on time. Not sure though?

With all these Asics soon coming on line it is very unlikely that you will ever mine your money back. Put on your little thinking cap. Don't do anything stupid. Don't go and do something when you know it doesn't add up. Don't buy with cash or Bitcoin.

All you ever wanted to know about minign with the usb devices there

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=137.0

Group buy thread typically has the best price on usb miners without searching the for sale items individually.

I hear ASIC Eruptors are selling very low now.  Is there a reason for that?  Is the technology obsolete?

The difficulty of Bitcoin is over 189 million. The next difficulty level is 230 million. Chances are that any machine you buy will never break even. If you receive the machine at all.

Anyone still having luck with refunds through Paypal.  Just tried myself and was shot down saying they are familiar with the situation and suggest i go through my credit card company.  I will try again later before I head to the CC companies.

I started my refund with my credit card, after Pay Pal first denied me. Money refunded all the same. If you have a credit card use it for a charge back.

Talk to someone else or their supervisor...I had no issues getting refunded after the 45 days.

Ok will try that, thanks  Smiley

I talked to a guy in the fraud department named Aaron, employee ID 45731.   He and his supervisor got my money back from TerraHash and he told me today, that he will do his best to help anyone else who can't get their money back from TerraHash.

I didn't talk to Aaron but others have. I would try Aaron next in your case. I just returned their email and said others have received refunds after 45 days why not me?
265  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: October 01, 2013, 05:27:34 AM
Just checked my account. Status refunded. But I charged back on my credit card so it's legit. Check your Pay Pal account or however you paid.

No funds yet on my paypal.  (#683)

I was able to reopen a dispute last week (even if it is over 45 days). But today paypal closed it.

When I called paypal , the dispute was closed because the seller didn't reply. And so they money stays with the terrahash.

If the Seller doesn't reply. You win the dispute. The money should go to you. How did you pay? If CC, it should show up there etc. .

When i called paypal the agent said the seller didnt respond but when i checked the dispute details it says

Oct 1, 2013 - PayPal: Email sent to buyer
Sep 29, 2013 - PayPal: Case closed
Sep 29, 2013 - Buyer: Complaint cancelled
Sep 22, 2013 - PayPal: Email sent to seller
Sep 22, 2013 - PayPal: Email sent to buyer
Sep 22, 2013 - Buyer: Complaint Case filed

According to the agent it is over 45 days im not covered by the "Paypal Buyer Protection".  I paid using paypal funds.

They advised me to file at Ic3.gov.

It looks like you may have "by accident" cancelled your own complaint. Sep 29, 2013 - Buyer: Complaint cancelled

You'll have to Call Pay Pal and tell them.

Think about this if TH truly has parts purchased and sitting somewhere (Assuming the next gen chip will work with them). They might be thinking about sitting on parts ... come out as new bushiness superhash 2.0 (or something) and attempt again with just chip costs, making massive profits.

That's a thought. But I don't think so. The klondike boards haven't been proven to work yet. They would have to get another design. Very unlikely the new design would use a significant % of the same component values.

I hope nobody minds a quick off-topic, but out of the people that purchased pre-orders for Terrahash, are any of you still participating in the ASIC race?

Hell No.

Electricity is too high in my area.

I would have to trust someone to host the unit. Fairly charge me for expenses. And honestly send the coins I have due.  Cheesy

If taxes have to be paid someday, it will likely be income tax with mining.  Instead of capital gains or loss from buying the coins outright.

will you get your rig in time to break even? Not likely from what I've seen.

Some say they want to help keep the coins decentralized. But anyone can just buy the coins if they want. So Bitcoin will be decentralized anyway. And 9 times out of 10 the miner will pay more for his coins through electricity, taxes, hardware and mining pool fees.

Why only a 50% refund?
With people who paid with PayPal taking a 100% refund, it leaves a lesser share for everyone else. I am sorry, but that's how it is. We do not want to be owing hundreds of thousands to PayPal. Also, with some customers contacting our bank with fraud accusations, Chase has shut down our bank accounts. In my opinion they were just looking for an excuse. They have already contacted us in the past, asking for more information about our business, just because we were a "Bitcoin related business."

Good news. Chase Bank froze their account. They won't be able to touch the money and it may be used to pay back some of customers refunds.
271  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: September 29, 2013, 09:19:11 PM

Do you think it would have been helpful to communicate a bit more sooner than this?

^this. Scammer or not, this is the main reason of your (TH) downfall (and everybody else with it).
I sent your numerous contacts and you force ppl to bring it all out on the public thread. It's your choice.

Even with the Avalon chips you supplied. TH didn't bother to complete your order. So the way I see it. TH never intended to complete any of the orders in the time they estimated, if ever.
272  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: September 27, 2013, 01:28:27 AM
It's clear now that Terrahash are engaging in dishonest business practices.

If they were not, they would be happy to refund customers who are no longer willing to wait. We get they had Avalon issues, but this is no excuse for not refunding customers as required by the law. They continue to not only ignore refund requests (against the law), but nearly any and all communications have virtually ceased via email, phone, their own support contact system on the website, in addition they have broken nearly every single promise to date, and continue to lie to the community about who they are, what the are doing and when their own customers can see any type of resolution.

It turns out anyone can file a complaint with the FTC, not just US based customers. Terrahash could be liable for a fine of $16,000 for each violation (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=279330.0)

File a complaint right now at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ - Many people already have filed complaints over the last few days and weeks.

The FTC uses statistical analysis to detect fraud and helps them decide who to devote time prosecuting. Let's pull out the big guns. This will either turn Terrahash into an honest company and provide remedy to their customers, or make them face the consequences. We need complaints in numbers, so if you have been ripped off or treated badly, we need you.

Terrahash are sullying the reputation of Bitcoin. We must all stick together and help clean this mess up. Report your dissatisfaction to the the US Federal Trade Commission today at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and help the entire bitcoin community.

It is a Inc.  with deciding to close it chances are Amir could care less on fines.  TH is its own legal entity assuming set up right.

They can owe millions in fines.... but if corporation is closed you cant get money out of something dried out.  There will no doubt be some money left and will be separated by creditors and those who sue.

But at end of day Amir is sitting back still getting paid a salary chances are right now.

Knight where are you!!!! The one of few people to meet Amir.  And also who somehow managed to see Amir to log into one account and see 40k chip orders.... yet 20k just went poof!  I still (and this is my personal opinion) wonder if he something with TH.  We do know he had a special deal to pick up boards he talked about..... was there anything else?  Who knows.

You may be incorrect on your assumptions or previous knowledge,

Law360, New York (December 05, 2012, 9:39 PM ET) -- The Federal Trade Commission on Tuesday urged a federal court to dismiss a get-rich-quick real estate business owner's Chapter 11 case, agreeing with a U.S. trustee that the California man filed in bad faith to avoid paying the agency $113 million in fines.

I will try and find the full article.

TH will go away completely its like 1.5kish or less depending to dissolve a Inc.   They are not declaring chapter 11..... the company will go poof!  So sadly unless Amir set up Inc. wrong or broke some mingling of personal and business assets he will most likely never feel any hurt from it.

Even if they dissolve, run off to Poland, or whatever. The money is in the banks and will go to their creditors and those who paid for a product they didn't receive. I don't know about the Bitcoin but I'm sure their is probably a way to recover it also.

I really don't have anything against Bargraphics. I doubt he is a shill but who knows for sure? He had an early order, so he didn't want TH to go out of business. Was a little exuberant. That's the way I see it. I don't really understand why so many like to argue with him. One day it's congratulations on your new baby. The next day, time to kick him while he's down. Maybe he's trying to redeem himself by helping those he might have mistakenly mislead get money back. But a lot of you believe he is just trying to delay things.

You can read through this thread and  see exactly how this whole thing unfolded. Instead of relying on faulty memory. So it should be saved to be able to accurately tell who is  at fault.

Oh look, he actually did go back and delete them, but I have them logged now. What a pansy, needs to hide how wrong he was. Man up Bar.

I was just going to post this, he had over 1000 posts as of yesterday! I guess his lawyer told him to delete all of those cheerleading posts!

I already archived them all and will post them to pastebin shortly.

This thread is a treasure chest of evidence. It's a good idea to save all the posts.

2 Tera Hz! Wow! And they say it's low power consumer! Don't see any wattage rating though?
It's a Pre order?
And you can only pay with Bitcoin or Bank Wire Transfer?  Cheesy
Must be very confident in their ability to deliver the product by their delivery date. Roll Eyes

Hey maybe this guy that goes by the name of Amir will buy them from you?

The only good news there is chances are who ever is trying to be played will be able to get money back.  To who ever listed on ebay.... sorry to tell you but paypal will take the money back after you can't deliver.

I don't think anyone would even buy a order at a huge discount at this point.  Just has gone to far. If you are able to sell a TH order for even 25 percent of what you paid on here i would be shocked.

Their is one born every day that will buy them.  I saw an in hand  5 GHZ BFL go for thousands. Some just want to have one and don't have a clue. If Bitcoin goes up enough it just might make them accidentally rich.

If it's not in hand it is a much harder sell. If you're one of the first in line, your pre order is worth more on ebay.

Except with TH your order is worth $0 because majority of people know you will never get them Wink

With TH you're the first loser foolish enough to board the train wreck.  Cheesy Cheesy

Like watching a train wreck, i just cant turn away.  Are people really this fucking stupid, if you are out of 4 figures i would be filing for legal action weeks ago.

Funniest thing I have read in this thread!

Legal action, oh c'mon guys TH just had some bad breaks, they will come through...keep the faith!

Longer we wait the chances of us ever getting anything back dwindles.
he placed his house for sale in late july. Just about when people started asking questions regarding the product development status.

Sadly i think it will be a hard legal action for some.  If you paid in bitcoins specifically.  And if i was Amir i know i would have a lawyer on hand ready.

You have to guess hes been expecting this, and is either ready or getting ready.   And I still think many will be sad with it being a Inc.  I think chances of him messing it up where you can get personal assets are slim (others will disagree).  But i think end of day TH will go out, legal action will happen.  Those that paid in a form of cash (paypal, creditcard, wire transfer, etc) will get whats left in TH banks and assets.  And will be interesting to see ones that paid in BTC what happens.

The only problem will be getting money back that TH no longer has or is hiding. If you didn't pay with a Credit Card or PayPal you might have to take legal action.

I already have 100% funds charged back to my account CC and PayPal. TH can challenge it but they will lose. They have no product anywhere in site, no hosting in site, and I no longer want the product, as it is all but useless due to difficulty.

TeraHash lies almost every time they post or talk.  A few examples for those with short memories.

I was emailed and told by TeraHash. "Because you already have an account set up on our website you will be able to order our Asics for 24 hours before the general public". But that wasn't true. Anyone that ordered was able to order right away. I ended up #760 even though I ordered in the first 30 minutes.

TeraHash said they weren't going to take pre orders and then shortly took them. And with part of the pre order money, rumored to be used as a refund to Cloud Hashing. (A company that sells shares of hashing power).

Later discovered. They baited and switched on their return policy. Screen shot taken for proof. They went from "you can get a refund at any time before we ship the unit to you". To " all sales are final. We are not responsible if Avalon doesn't send the chips in time".

I called them. Their representative told me on the phone that I was in the first batch, even though my order was # 760? Also told me the Avalon chips wouldn't be a problem as they could easily obtain them from other venders if needed.

They claimed all they needed was Avalon Chips. Claimed to have the Klondike hashing. Yet they received some chips from a customer,  he has never heard back from them for a long time. They claimed all orders would be done within 2 weeks of Avalon chips but failed to deliver 1 order?

I thought you could still buy up to 50 coins per day? You just don't get them instantly unless it is 10 coins or less?

Don't tell me they keep changing the amounts continuously. So you can't depend on them. as they may flake out any second.
