261  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: OFFICIAL CGMINER mining software thread for linux/win/osx/mips/arm/r-pi 4.9.1 on: May 03, 2015, 05:35:00 PM
Installed the new binary on one of my underclocked ants and now the discard rate is much higher.  Averages around 6% now.  With the previous binary (4.3.2)

it was around  .2%.  Is this normal?

Exact setting I am using:  [196.88  69 5f06] with latest firmware.

Thanks!

Antminer S1 is standalone.  These can be had pretty cheap.

Also, out of interest, who's using what versions of cgminer? I'm on 3.1.1 with the -S flag in play.
Fresh install of BFGminer 5.1 for me.
I haven't been mining anything via USB since I turned off my silence/efficiency modified BFL singles last year (40GH @110W vs 60GH @300W).

Same here.  I have 6 BFL singles modded to 0.8VDC.  Think they use about 120W.  Using CGminer 3.12 for my BE.
264  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why don't they make miners with swappable chips? on: May 01, 2015, 04:22:21 AM
Most ASICs for cypto hashing have very specific mounting profiles.  These chips produce very high amounts of heat for there size.  It would be very difficult

(expensive) to introduce additional physical sockets/connectors/interfaces just to make them upgradable.  Most manufacturers of these miners are mostly

concerned about getting them out the door as fast as possible and with minimal cost.  It is easier and cheaper to just design a whole new platform around each

ASIC.

Version 2.0 BE controller.  Is this an improvement over the ones that shipped with the tubes?  I have to use my tubes with an UART.  If so, are they available

for sale separately?

Count me in! I even have one that is overclocked.

Sound like fun, I'm in!  I have about 50 of these packed away.  Been turning them into UARTs to use with other hardware.

My UARTs for underclocked S1 blades. Turning these off this weekend but was a fun project.  8 of them do 400GH. Smiley

Even found a use for the 49-port hub!
269  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] BFL Monarch's X 24. on: April 30, 2015, 01:57:19 AM
Just as a general question and a free bump:

What type of power efficiency do these guys actually get? BFL claims a pretty weird range (0.65-0.85 +- 10%) on their website, and I don't trust their word for shit. So far I haven't seen any of them field-tested with a kill-a-watt.

I just bought one and tested the power usage.  I am using a cx750m bronze 80+ power supply.  The numbers I got with no tweaking for efficiency where around

1watt per Gh at the wall with 120V.  Kill-a-watt was 780W,  hash rate was 786Gh.

If it was pulling 780w on a 750w power supply the efficiency was probably shit. If it was ran on an 850 gold i bet it would pull less.

Most likely.  The CX750M is only a "bronze" rated power supply.  Also the unit I have responded well to tweaking.  Now doing 815GH@750W.

Smracer,  good luck with your sales.  I might pick up a few from you. Smiley

How much would all of this weigh? Going to try and calculate shipping.
272  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ATX/Server PSU with 9 Volt, 10 A output and 4 x 6 pin connectors on: April 23, 2015, 02:49:53 AM
I received some busted S5s last week, and when I have some downtime on the Compac project (while waiting for prototype boards to come in) I'll probably be back onto my inline regulator project. If I can find an S5 board among the pile that still works, I'll do some testing on low-volt and see what in the design is the failure point. I suspect the clock signal is being compressed too much by the level shifter and when the voltages move around it's not hitting thresholds. If I can find a straightforward fix to get them going at lower voltage I'll post about it.

Where did you get broken S5's from?  Would love to take a crack at one of those!
273  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [SALE] AntMiner S3s $89 w/ Free Shipping & Free ATX Switch + more! on: April 22, 2015, 08:21:17 PM
I know this has been asked before but, How much would it increase the price to ship a Jupiter with the case fully intact?  Would be neat to see/work with one

of these exactly as it originally shipped.  Earlier in this thread I noticed $75 was quoted if the buyer pays shipping.  Is this still the case?

Thanks!

Anybody have a couple of these for sale?  I am interested in 2-3 for tinkering.  Can pay with BTC. Wink

Would buy from Bitmain but  I don't need/want 20 of them. Tongue

Bump!

Still looking for USB miners.  Particularly bitfury based ones.

Complete kit in the PC-style case? Or just board and cooler? Or just board?

This.^

Interested.

As title says, looking for USB sticks.  Especially interested in Bitfury and Antminer stuff.  I will pay shipping inside US.  Not interested in large lots unless they

are SUPER cheap (<10 cent per GH).  I can pay up tp $1 per GH depending on what you have.  Prefer escrow through Ognasty.

Thanks!
