any guides on how to run a masternode?

Will the Draksend feature become open source?

Yes.

That to me is a slight concern.
Here is why. darkcoin is one of the few coins that has something beneficial and different. Clones are sure to appear.
If Darkcoin is to have a market cap in the tens of billions or even hundreds of billions, as it becomes more widespread, then it needs to get the marketing right IMHO.

Otherwise someone will come out with a clone called "goodcoin"...and I think that the wider community is far more likely to go with something like that than Darkcoin.
I belive at some stage if the coin wants to fulfill it's potential the name will have to change.
Just my 2 cents

That is just something we're going to have to deal with.  Staying closed source is not an option really. Luckily we have history on our side - none of the litecoin clones have eclipsed litecoin, none of the quark clones have eclipsed quark etc.

Don't read your chart!!

Read the Darkcoin whitepaper

f'ing brilliant!! -> http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/DarkcoinWhitepaper.pdf
Presumably when Darkcoin is worth $1000, the 0.1 DRK fee will be reduced?

Yep. Bitcoin did the same thing, fee kept going down with every wallet release.

Could i setup a masternode on windows?

Yes if you can secure it well against ddos and hacking.  Only consider doing it if you are an IT pro IMO.

First I would say this coin is awesome Smiley

I have pool mined drk for a while and for the past 24h I have tried solo mining on my 3 rigs that is connect to the computer I run the drk client on. They connect as they should and hashes.

I'm using sgminer through cgwatcher and so far I have had 5 "found blocks" but received no credit what so ever. I have checked all log files and it looks just like other people is saying on the forums that it should look like. Except the debug.log for the darkcoin client, in that one is nothing neither in the transaction list.

Anyone that can shed some light over this since it feels like im wasting my hash power here. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

You would only expect to find a block every 48 hours at current difficulty (even with 3 rigs).  What exactly are you referring to when you say you "found" 5 blocks according to cgwatcher?  You are only going to find a block when the "best share" as reported by cgminer is above the difficulty at the moment that share was found.  I am not really familiar with cgwatcher but my guess is it is not actually reporting the number of found blocks because 5 blocks would be extraordinarily good luck in 24 hours.

I agree, I was expecting something like one block per 1.5-2 days. But still I need to figure out why one of my rigs say 4 found blocks and one other rig say 1 found block falsely.

Here is part from the sgminer log:
"[22:41:39] Network diff set to 47                    7/m
[22:41:39] Stratum from Pool 2 detected new block
[22:41:44] Network diff set to 48                    7/m
[22:41:44] Stratum from Pool 2 detected new block
[22:41:59] Found block for Pool 0!                    /m       <------------------
[22:42:04] Network diff set to 52                    2/m
[22:42:04] Stratum from Pool 2 detected new block
[22:42:14] Network diff set to 52                    2/m
[22:42:14] Stratum from Pool 2 detected new block
[22:42:14] Network diff set to 1.25K
[22:42:14] New block detected on network before pool notification"

So is it normal to get Found Blocks reported falsely by sgminer? Is there a way to prevent it?

I assume if I actually found a real block my wallet would have been credited within a few minutes?

Yes, when you find a new block you are credited instantly (literally the exact second the block is found a transaction will appear in your wallet).  The problem I can see in your pasted text is that the network difficulty is only 47,48,52 etc.  It should be around 1.2k.  Do you have a backup pool set for another coin maybe?  That would explain the thing you pasted - it switched from a coin with difficulty 52 back to DRK at 22:42:14 mb?

The competitors are scrambling for FUD now that Darkcoin's price is gaining the traction it deserves.

i just want info before i buy drk.

No problem, we are happy to answer any questions you have.  (:
so what happened with the instamine guessing it was dumped already along time ago? maybe a few big holders? is there a top 100?

Yep, there is probably a little of everything - lots of coins were dumped very early on, but there are probably a few bagholders still around.

The top 100 can be seen here: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/#!rich

Im killing myself i never mined this at the beginning, how many coins per MH/day would i have got last month?

It was actually pretty unprofitable to mine at the time.

about .65 coins/mhash/day last couple months

At the time it was a lot more profitable to mine scrypt and sell for DRK, unless your electricity was super expensive.

lol you bit troll bait my friend.  An airdrop was an idea floated for about a couple hours (over a month ago) and then immediately abandoned.

so what's the idea now? the dev just holds 4.5million usd.

The coin was mined by many people on the first day - many coins were generated (1.7million I believe).  The dev got some (hopefully) but probably didn't get as much as you imagine - he was buying coins with BTC shortly after launch.

The dev talks about the rocky launch here:

Ammmmazing!

Does this mean we should update our master nodes to RC2?

I think he is just looking for testers, to look for bugs.  No need to update yet.

The first 24 hours of the coins existence keep causing us problems, an "airdrop" could be a solution to this. We could airdrop all holders (uniquely verified) with a equal portion of coin. This coin would come from a block in the future that paid 2 million+ coins to a specific address that I hold. We could use some kind of verification system like mastercoin (http://mastercoin-faucet.com/github-intro)
The airdrop would be a month or so into the future, so it would give users time to buy coins and become holders creating some demand. Also, we'd have a much larger market cap and the argument about the first 24 hours would become invalid.

How would you get a part of the airdrop?

- You must own 100DRK ( if you're new to Darkcoin but want to be part of the drop, you would need to purchase 100DRK ).

One of the following:
- Github: To redeem this reward, you need either at least three public repositories and your account must be older than August 1, 2013
- Reddit: To redeem this reward, you need a Reddit account with more than 100 karma.
- Bitcointalk: To redeem this reward you need an activity score above 10 as well as at least 10 posts

Any of these accounts would need to be created before April 1, 2014.
Vote!
Really how the fuck do you instamine 2 million coins let's see that address........... bet it's less then 1.5million coins in that address now

Hey did the coin dev here address this serious problem ?

SCAM Darkcoin instamine 2 millions DRKs (50% of darkcoin in circulation)

seems like a pretty serious issue to me..  Shocked

i am not buying any Dark coins that is for sure !

Airdrop was an idea that was floated for a few hours and then abandoned.  Nothing to be worried about mate.

He's got a lot riding on this, if DRK makes it big he can write a book and do the lecture circuit.  He'll be a fucking rockstar  Grin
