261  Economy / Speculation / Re: Once China fully realizes it has been betrayed... on: December 15, 2013, 06:00:34 AM
Americans once again will own the Chinese. First with our cheap debt and now with our cheap bitcoins!

I think this post is may be valid again  Wink.

Yes, Bitcoin is only a fad. Keep going with that line of thinking.

He is not saying it is a fad, just that it is way overvalued right now.
264  Economy / Speculation / Re: Once China fully realizes it has been betrayed... on: December 15, 2013, 04:31:10 AM
What is interesting about china is that every body complains about them. They rob our jobs etc.

Actually people do not understand economics very well and do not understand that china has propped our economy up so much with cheap goods and buying our debt. In a way they are just handing us free stuff. It is like if we had a robots here building the stuff for free.

China keeps getting burned though.

But you have to also understand they also stole all our ideas on how to build all these goods and build their economy. If it was not for our technological advancements they would probably be nothing. So they gained and we also gained.

So you can look at this both ways.

265  Economy / Speculation / Re: Once China fully realizes it has been betrayed... on: December 15, 2013, 04:23:15 AM
I think you are very correct. I think some big investor has put a price floor on bitcoin for the time being hoping things will turn around. This is why some people are surprised that bitcoin price is not rising with all the recent news. IT is because their is a price floor and the price right now should be way lower, and if it was not being manipulated would have possibly rose from its lows.

Bitcoins at $900 is utterly ridiculous. There is no way this price can maintain itself right now.

It looks like the price floor is breaking apart, even the wealthier investor can't prop up a billion dollar bitcoin economy. We should start seeing the drops very soon. It will be ugly for sure.
266  Economy / Speculation / Re: Serious bitcoin price discussion. Bears only please. How far will it drop? on: December 15, 2013, 04:18:12 AM
I think most peoples strategy should be at this point is to sell a good portion of their bitcoins and sit on cash. If you see the price starting to rise then buy back in.

It is far too risky to sit on bitcoins right now.

At least that would be my strategy.

I disagree.

fools sell bitcoins in a bear market, its a buying opportunity, silly bears...

Yes it is a good buying opportunity, you sell what you have and buy a lot more at a lower price.

Bitcoin is getting weaker by the day, the price won't hold for long and a drop is almost certain at this point.

If the price looks to have regained strength then buy again.

When was I ever wrong?

Seeing the beginnings of technology which will forever change how the entire world sees money and worrying about the day to day volatility in the exchange rate instead of obtaining as much of the asset as you possibly could.

Wink

How was I wrong, I did see the beginning of the technology about the same time you saw it in 2011, based on the dates we registered. I do agree that it was a great technology at the time and would solve some of the fiat issues. I was big into how fiat is a scam before bitcoin.

Yes I did worry about the volatility of the exchanges, when I first heard about bit coin it was priced over $20 dollars each. Why would I invest in it at $20 dollars at the time when I was smart enough to wait until it fell all the way to $2.01. At that point I just decided for it to stabilize a little bit as I did not see it skyrocketing again at that time or any time soon (within a few months) and it didn't.

My reasons were that the price is fluctuating so much that it could just as easily fall back below $1.00. If it did stabilize above $2.00, then I would buy there without taking the risk of it falling to zero. It was actually a smart decision if you ask me, as the coin became more and more tested, and there would have been plenty of buying opportunities after that time for even $3.00 range I believe. You should know that bitcoin was untested at that time and there were still major ricks of governmental shutdown and someone hacking it driving the price to zero.

My issues were that I just got interested in other things and didn't even look at bitcoins, I never even posted from early 2012, until last month.

I do not agree with what you wrote.

269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone needs to calm down about Cryptsy on: December 14, 2013, 09:57:40 PM
I made three bitcoins deposits into cryptsy in the last 12 hours and none of them have showed up, not even in pending.

Anyone else have bitcoin deposits not showing up?
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptsy bitcoin deposits have not posted to my account. Can this be fixed? on: December 14, 2013, 09:54:03 PM
Crap, did a test for .001 bitcoins and it went through.

Then I changed my cryptsy deposit address and sent in another test but somewhat larger at .04 bitcoins and now that is not showing up.

Jeez. now I'm out three deposits.

Could be years before another bitcoin bubble happens.

Are you serious?? Probably this is the most wrong statement in this thread  Smiley
With all the "projections" of money from finance institutions coming in soon the next bubble is just around the corner..

Well, all that information has been priced in already and that is why the price skyrocketed to where it is now.

After the first bubble, it took over two years before it surpassed that point.

Does anyone else think my statement about the next bubble being a long time into the future is really incorrect?

Yes. You are just as clueless about bitcoins directions and causations today as you were 3 years ago.

I was right pretty much every time with my bitcoin directions. Remember, I was the one of the few people at that time in 2011 who was saying it was way overvalued and it would fall. And it did fall all the way down to $2.00 from $30. This was when 99% of the forum were bullish and were telling me (or flaming me) I was wrong. Then when it didn't go down as low as I predicted, I predicted around $1.00 instead it only reached $2.01. I just left bitcoin all together and got involved with other things. I really didn't have that much money to speculate with at the time anyway. I figured I would wait for a stable long term price before I entered, which would have been around $10 as that is what it seemed to stabilize around for a long time. However, I was just not thinking about bitcoins anymore and was making plenty of fiat dollars.

When was I ever wrong? I never said bitcoin would never go up, I just said it was way overvalued at the time and I was correct. This was mostly when it was over $10.00, and it was still only a high of $13.00 two years later. My buy in point would have been $1.00 if it fell that low, I was only a $1.00 off if you want to look at it that way.

Then when bitcoin rose to about $1000 I said it was unstable and would fall. I then told people to sell above $1000 right before it dropped down to $600's. I was right again.

I honestly don't understand where I was ever wrong  Huh.

I say now that it should fall a bit before rising, not saying a total crash but a reasonable correction from where we are at. However, I stand a chance at being wrong here because it seems that big investors have put a bitcoin floor price up. However, if anything I learned form 2011/2012 is that eventually it will fall even if it is looking stable. Time will tell.

What do you guys think about the recent quark drop?

So many coins have been changing hands and I saw some massive dumps. I'm talking 100,000 quark coins being dumped at a time.

Do you think it is a good time to still buy or are people selling for a reason?

QRK will eventually be put on btc38.com. When other alt coins have been put up their price has gone up quite a bit.

That's why we saw so much selling when it was found that QRK would not be put there. People just bought QRK for the btc38.com offering. They didn't take into consideration that it would eventually be put there.

I don't understand.

Is it not going to be put on btc38.com? Kind of hard to read what you wrote.

275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Cryptsy bitcoin deposits have not posted to my account. Can this be fixed? on: December 14, 2013, 06:58:08 PM
I did email cryptsy already but being impatient because I just started to actually use bitcoins and not sure how this problem can be fixed.

I was looking at my cryptsy deposits and noticed my last two bitcoin deposits have not posted. They both have over 50 confirmations in my bitcoin wallet for the two transfers. They were sent about 10 hours ago.

I was wondering, is a problem like this fixable? Is the information in my bitcoin wallet enough to show and prove that I made the deposits to them? Or should I expect the worst?

All my other bitcoin deposits went through fine, I always used the same address to send the bitcoins.

Should you sell the quark you own? Whats going on? Price just halved from a few hours ago.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: QRK prediction ? on: December 14, 2013, 04:17:22 AM
I think people have to understand just how much a quark really is.

when compared to litecoins number of coins a quark would be worth $2.56

That is a lot of money for a quark. I mean, litecoin was at this price for a long time before the recent run up of bitcoin.

But all coins have risen bigtime since bitcoin went up so high.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies will succeed...NOT BITCOIN. on: December 14, 2013, 01:12:14 AM
Bro you seem pretty butthurt would you like an incident of butthurt form to fill out? BTW my name is not michael or mike maybe this will help you on your butthurt quest you dweeb lmao

MikeyVeez, You would be much happier if you just stick with the issues.
Insulting people, will cause them to insult you, It creates a cycle that never ends.

I believe BTC will succeed, it may end up as a secondary cryptocurrency.
The need for confirmations will need to be alleviated by a 3rd party payment processor,
before BTC can succeed in the average persons daily life.

In the end, only hindsight is 20/20.
Let us all hope we put our stock in the right cryptocurrency.

Who cares if it succeeds or not, the main goal should be making as much fiat dollars as possible.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Need help from day traders, I think I just did some bad trades. Stupid me. on: December 14, 2013, 12:05:21 AM
Just did a stupid thing, should have known better really but I'm new to all of this.

I accumulated copperlark at around $.30 to $.35. Not much just around 350 of this particular coin.

Then I happened to be online now in cryptsy and saw someone buying large amounts of it at $.70.

So I figured let me sell 100 at that price. As He was buying way above anybody elses offer. I figured worse case most of these alt-coins fall down after being pumped.

Then he ups the price to $1.00 for a small amount. I hesitate thinking, I should only sell some at this price and wait.

Then he pulls the $1.00 price and sells for $.79 cents again. I said, shit I should have sold it at $1.00.

Then he puts a huge buy back up for $1.00 so I decide to sell the rest at $1.00, thinking I made a good profit from $.30 to $1.00. Even though I knew I should not have sold.

Then he puts a buy order to buy everything up to $1.50. Shit, I just lost 350 * $.50 cent or $175 dollars if I just waited.

Then it gets worse, he is buying everything on cryptcy up to $2.00. Shit I just lost $350 dollars if I would have just waited and not have been so stupid.

So stupid, I wish I never even came online at the time and he may continue to buy everything at $2.00 putting a $2.00 floor up. I just never figured someone could buy the entire market like that.

please help me daytraders. What should I do in situations like this? Is it just best to always  hold? I want to learn my mistake as I am new to this and do not want to do a stupid thing again.
