Yesterday i found that there was a redirect to HTTPS if you were accessing via HTTP. This redirect however was broken (missing trailing slash). I changed my scripts to use HTTPS and everything works as expected. Hope that helps?
This fixed things for me too. I also had to disable SSL certificate validation.

producers of cheap psus still putting there quite strong not-too-much-used-today 5v and 3.3v lines and splitting 12v rail into 3-4 separate ones (as much cheaper parts can can be used for lower currents) that user need to balance himself...
The problem with balancing loads yourself is that most PSUs have a label listing the +12V rails but don't correlate the rails with the connectors. You're right, it's much better to buy a single +12V rail supply.

I think most power supplies sold to the consumer market are crap. Based on the results in this thread as well as my own measurements, it looks like dual 5870 rigs pull about 500 watts at the socket. Assuming 80% efficiency, that's only about 400 watts to the load (your mobo and GPUs). Yet I've fried power supplies rated at 650-750 watts to the load under such circumstances. And they weren't just defective PSUs. After getting them replaced under warranty, I hook them up and start mining and they begin smelling like burning plastic again almost immediately. I've finally settled on Corsair (all series), Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold and the Ultra LSP-750.

There are a number of hosting services advertising in the Marketplace section and in the wiki. You might ask them if they'd be willing to run bitcoind.

Is the molex connector needed for overclocked 5850s and 5870s?

I consider any article that doesn't question the security or viability of Bitcoin to be a positive one. Any decent currency, by its very nature, will allow people freedom of choice in what to spend it on. It's inevitable that reporters, being the fear mongers that most of them are, will seek out some "scare the children" angle.
The Bitcoin community owes Bruce and Gavin a major debt of gratitude for their efforts, and not just for the Forbes article obviously.

Dumping the 3-5 million bitcoins that were generated out of nowhere among the "early adopters" and that have never been traded before will cause massive inflation. Perhaps people aren't expecting any earnings but at least they'll want their money to keep it's value. What leads you to believe they will "dump" their holdings in such a manner that will cause massive inflation? That wouldn't be in anyone's best interests. Just the other day, someone else was criticizing the early adopters for not selling more of their Bitcoins and causing the huge run up in value.

It's pretty scary that even states are passing crap like this. It seems that no government, large or small, wants you to have control over your money. The author posted this in the comments section: I'm not a lawyer but I think it's inevitable that for a variety of reasons (tax evasion, non-sanctioned currency, and money transmission among them) Bitcoin is legally a lost cause.

This is a wonderful thing for you to do. However, I recommend that you use 75% of the sign area to advertise your business and 25% to tout Bitcoin (put the "We accept Bitcoin" part at the bottom). This will still be plenty of promotion for Bitcoin. Definitely keep the Bitcoin logo.

I am getting the following errors when I try to use tabsa's module: 2011-04-29 16:42:55 - PHP Notice: Undefined index: SCI_Currency_BTC_Rate in /home/bitcoinw/public_html/catalog/controller/payment/btc_mybitcoin.php on line 57 2011-04-29 16:42:55 - PHP Notice: Undefined variable: main_currency in /home/bitcoinw/public_html/catalog/view/theme/default/template/payment/btc_mybitcoin.tpl on line 20 2011-04-29 16:42:55 - PHP Notice: Undefined variable: btc_rate in /home/bitcoinw/public_html/catalog/view/theme/default/template/payment/btc_mybitcoin.tpl on line 20 2011-04-29 16:42:55 - PHP Notice: Undefined variable: total_btc in /home/bitcoinw/public_html/catalog/view/theme/default/template/payment/btc_mybitcoin.tpl on line 21 I contacted him via PM and he said he would look into it, but I haven't heard anything back from him in over a week. I need to get a storefront up and running ASAP, so I'm going to close this bounty and go with a custom Rails cart instead. I have sent tabsa a payment of 25 BTC for his efforts thus far, which is more than the original bounty in value terms due to the tremendous run-up in the Bitcoin exchange rate.

Now I'm regretting selling some coins at 4 USD.

Thanx for confirming that for me ... i suspected it would be the case since i have found not max-loading up the default display adapter with mining reduces number of kernel hangs markedly ... now need to get hold of cheap mobo with onboard graphics chip and 4 or more PCIe slots ....
Make sure the onboard graphics is ATI and not nvidia. The ATI and nvidia drivers do not play well together. Already been down that path myself.

For those of us mining, watching Bitcoin just got a lot more boring as the difficulty jumped 44% today. That puts my rate of block generation around two days per block (4 Ghash/s). Oh well, time to start building Bitcoin businesses. It is exciting watching all the new users pour into the forum. Some of them are quite talented and are making great contributions.

I put in an order. How do I know that the system properly understands my location and will match me to someone within the specified radius? It would be nice to see listings on a map. I had to set a radius of 3000 miles before it found any matches, but then it didn't say how far away the one listing was. It would be nice to see the distances so that you could pick and choose between the offers.

When I run bitcoin.exe -server from the command line, the GUI pops up like normal but it only ever reaches 10-15 connections maximum, even after waiting for an hour or two.
Anybody else notice this? Anybody know why?
Notes: Windows 7, 32 Bit
I seem to recall someone else mentioning this earlier and attributing it to Windows. I don't know much about Windows networking code, but is there some sort of adjustable limitation placed on services? My detached bitcoind process running under Linux currently has 114 connections.

If I SEE someone click "send", I don't think there would be need to wait for verification really
There's ways to fake it... But I agree completely. If the person receiving the Bitcoins has a laptop with their own client running, then once the transaction shows up on their machine, there's very little risk involved. In fact, I wouldn't worry about it for anything less than 500 BTC, maybe more.

with Bitcoin I've donated to many organizations that would never have gotten a penny from me otherwise.
Same here. It's so incredibly easy and efficient.
