@nebtheweb no you're an idiot, let me explain. The distance to the horizon test doesn't involve the sun.

In regards to the optical gyroscope, it's not actually a gyroscope but an acutely sensitive electromagnetic interferometer based on the Sagnac effect and it detects the electromagnetic signature from the stars rotating above. The stars are close small bits of electric plasma that are in motion.

Fuck off with your whataboutery.

Hey, can I ask you a question? Why did you omit the answer to your question in your reply?

"...The earth is like a circular lake with islands in the middle, Antarctica is a wall of ice that forms the shore. Above the wall there's a plateau for some distance and then a ring of the highest mountains in the world, beyond that is the firmament of heaven..."

The actual camera man is on a ship looking at the ice wall shore.

Not so bonus. Sad

^^^ I'll admit it's possible I'm wrong about the encyclopedia entry, like you say it is a mainstream publication however, [80°22′S 77°22′E] is located 150 miles away from [80°S 90°E] so you're an idiot for claiming the entry refers to Dome Argus.
@odolvlobo, you're correct about the encyclopedia entry. The highlighted sentence is describing the features of the land. As you point out nearby mountains are referred to as "domes" due, most likely to their featureless nature.

The earth does not move and here's proof, a reproducible experiment. This experiment was documented on video then posted to YouTube. The gyroscope experimentally proves the earth does not rotate at 15 deg/hr, no amount of but "b-b-but whatabout..." can refute this.

   [Ultimate Flat Earth Proof] Stationary Flat Earth – The Gyroscope Doesn't Lie -- https://youtu.be/RF829QNKtT8

The YouTube videos posted by NASA involve propaganda content that can't be reproduced i.e. "fake youtube videos".

Quote
"Whataboutism, also known as whataboutery, is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument. It is particularly associated with Soviet and Russian propaganda. When criticisms were leveled at the Soviet Union during the Cold War, the Soviet response would often be "What about..." followed by an event in the Western world. As Garry Kasparov noted, it is a word that was coined to describe the frequent use of a rhetorical diversion by Soviet apologists and dictators, who would counter charges of their oppression, "massacres, gulags, and forced deportations" by invoking American slavery, racism, lynchings, etc. It has been adopted by other politicians and countries." -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whataboutism

^^^ There's no curvature and I've provided documented evidence to prove it, you just talk a lot of shit. The only thing balloons prove is that earth is not spinning below them.

In case you missed it, here's proof of no curvature that you can bank on:

a solution to the flat earth debate

if a flat-earther can go to the edge of the planet and jump off it, with evidence to show they jumped off it.. they win

the tactic worked for witchcraft
if you survive you are a liar and not to be trusted, if you die you die with honour

I covered this a few days ago in another thread:

[X-POST]
People often ask "if the earth is flat then where's the edge, why hasn't anybody fallen off?".

The answer leads us to another hoax: the continent of Antarctica and the south pole. The earth is like a circular lake with islands in the middle, Antarctica is a wall of ice that forms the shore. Above the wall there's a plateau for some distance and then a ring of the highest mountains in the world, beyond that is the firmament of heaven.

Here's the edge:

Don't fall off, that water is ice cold and you wont survive long!

@hornetsnest,

^ The globe fails a distance to the horizon test with a wide margin of error using a super-zoom camera. The surface of the earth doesn't curve at any distance!

Not only is the earth flat for as far as the eye can see, the earth is flat for as far as the Nikon P1000 can see.

The P1000 & P900 actually prove you wrong in many ways. Put a solar filter on your P1000, then go record the Sun set BELOW the horizon. Then after it sets, extend that sucker to its maximum zoom as many times as you wish, and then come back and tell me if the Sun was brought back into view. Can you do that? I doubt it. Ok, now you can go back to zooming in on out of focus stars and claiming reality when it is nothing more than your inept use of the camera by using autofocus and auto-exposure which do not function very well on a dark night sky. That being said, there are Multiple flat earth failures in the following linked video using a drone, and a Nikon mounted on a telescope mount to track the Sun. Anybody can do this. Let's hear the excuses.  https://youtu.be/gB1punBbeV8

What the fuck does a solar filter have to do with the globe failing a distance to the horizon test you absolutely stunned cunt?

Also your video is from a fucking paid shill! The sun is affected by a refractive magnifying effect called looming and the change in observation height or angle of attack causes the sun's apparent size to increase, thus bringing it back within the angular resolution limit of the camera.

In case you missed it here's the globe failing the test:

^^^ Either the earth rotates at 15 deg/hr or it doesn't. A gyroscope proven to maintain its position at 15 deg/hr can definitively determine this.

There are explanations for the Foucault pendulum including straight fraud, but we need not go there as it doesn't account for the globe failing a rotational motion test with a calibrated gyroscope.

"For hundreds of years people have" and "super-zoom camera" don't mesh. People have 120x optical zoom, never been.

edit:
   The globe also fails a rotational motion test with a gyroscope proven to maintain its position @ 15 deg/hr.

edit2:
   The globe also fails a linear motion test with a Michelson interferometer.

   Gravity (relativistic) fails an experimental test when Dufour & Prunier accounted for a rotating frame of reference in their replication of the Sagnac experiment at the University of Paris in 1939.

^^^ So you'll concede that there's no measurable or observable curvature for as far as the eye can see; the default is flat?

Hills, valleys, mountains etc.. not withstanding, the earth's surface is 71% water you fucking gaslighting douchebag.

Is the military also part of the NASA conspiracy? Cos they do use G for global mother fucker.
Also do we have planes, or only fucking balloons? No Batty, you're a solid 50. Single-celled. Roll Eyes
...[FROTH]...

1. NASA is a military connected propaganda agency not a space agency; outer space is a hoax.
2. The globe is a hoax, the system could project the data on a tetrahedron and they'd call it TPS.
3. I suspect Space Force jets fly up and hook the "GPS" "satellites" after their balloons pop and they start falling.
4. Do they have planes that fly that high [balloons @1000mi]? Not according to this declassified USAF chart:

@Cryptotourist,

   The "GPS" in your smartphone is triangulation from cellular towers, professional "GPS" uses a network of high altitude balloons maintained by the military.

@BADecker you don't deserve a P1000.

@dewin the flat earth society is "controlled opposition", a propaganda psyop to make the flat earth seem foolish with ideas like flying space pancakes.

@solosequenosenada the entire Copernican model goes in the trash. Begone with your mixed model meme monstrosities!
279  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hoax is a hoax on: November 29, 2019, 09:35:47 PM
@notbatman

If you're willing, I ask you to do a simple "test", an "experiment" if you may.

If it so happens that you went to the beach, time this exactly when the sun is setting.
Step 1: lie down, well, more likely in a "flanking" position and face where the sun is.
Step 2: wait until you can't see the sun in your current position.
Step 3: quickly stand up or stand in a chair.
Step 4: mindblown, surprised!, YOU CAN SEE THE GODDAMN SUN AGAIN!

Why you'd ask? Because it's a globe, and not flat.
You can search for a better explanation, but oh, I think "science" is a hoax for you, so no point in doing that.

So you're just going to ignore the fact the globe fails a distance to the horizon test with a wide margin of error? This is a test anybody with a super-zoom camera can perform (weather permitting i.e. no superior mirages on hot days) and confirm.

Here's one (of many) example of the globe failing a distance to the horizon test: https://youtu.be/6hqzqmY9ny8

As for your example [viewing the sunset twice] it completely disregards how optics works. Remember this is a hoax and you're being deceived by a group of highly educated magicians; the globe is their stage.

When you stand up it increases the observers angle of attack thus increasing the distance to the observers vanishing point (horizon line). An object, the sun in this case has its apparent size increased so that it's within the observers angular resolution limit thus can be observed [again].

Proof of this effect also known as foreshortening is as simple as checking that a pool cue is straight. When you hold the cue at the correct angle the entire length is visible but, its apparent size is compressed thus exaggerating any deformations.

"science"

The falsifiable theory [the globe] is that the earth's surface curves at a point just beyond the limit of human eyesight.
