Their maintenance fee $0.26/Gh is what makes mining there unprofitable, your better off hoarding

Just updated looks sexier than before  Cool

The new sigs look really good! My full member sig is dwarfed by these jr member and member sigs. I think OP must be working on the full member and sr member ones. Looking forward to them Cool
I know! The signatures are actually REALLY good looking.

Maybe he's gonna be ushering in a new era of signature designs?

Colors and sizes don't matter anymore, according to the new signature. It's the overall design.

Actually color does matter, a red colored sig is more likely to be clicked than a plain one

269  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gas supply cut-off deadline of $1.95 billion by 06:00 GMT on Monday. on: June 16, 2014, 04:35:30 PM
Why are they finding it hard to pay for this yet they have the money. If they cant pay all of it then at least some of the money like a quarter of it(255$ mill).
Maybe they will come to their senses once it gets shutdown.
270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ask Amazon for Bitcoin Payments on: June 16, 2014, 05:44:33 AM
I believe that rather than picking up the begging bowl and standing in front of big names such as Amazon and Ebay, we should focus more on the mid-sized and small-sized merchants. We don't need Amazon.

i second that, if we can focus on those small businesses and when those businesses grow and become real threats to amazon then they will have to find a way to integrate bitcoin.

272  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will a war start in Ukraine? on: June 15, 2014, 12:12:17 PM
Nope. Putin has refused to support the rebels, and they have lost major cities such as Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, as well as the port city of Mariupol recently. They won't able to hold one for too long. However, it seems very likely that a few thousand more will die there.

Why he stop supporting the rebels? Does your Daddy Putin got afraid?

Cause it would turn into a war and he doesn't want that and war is expensive.

He also doesnt want blood on his hands.
273  Other / Meta / Re: What are constructive posts? on: June 15, 2014, 05:39:37 AM
I would define them as posts that are on topic with the thread title, posts that add more meaning or value to a quote&quote subject.
274  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Lack of Major Wars May Be Hurting Economic Growth on: June 14, 2014, 04:22:12 PM
War does not increase wealth, it transfers it to a few, with much attendant damage and destruction that diminishes the whole.

At one time it was inconceivable that economic growth could exist without slavery. So too with war and all other non-productive forms of economic activity. Given the cleverness with which men destroy each other there may be innovations with other applications, but on the whole the result is pain, misery, and deprivation for most.

And those few bankers are the biggest earners. I think there are better ways to make money like innovation, science etc. And the guys that write this articles are full of sh**  Angry
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TorCoin on: June 14, 2014, 02:00:53 PM
It doesn't sound like users of TOR will have to pay to use the network so I am wondering where will the value of the coin come from?

The users of the coin will give it value just like any currency. But am waiting to see how it will be implemented
276  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What happens in the government if Bitcoin takes over? on: June 14, 2014, 12:27:45 PM
Most governments get their money from taxes. If these become impossible to collect, how will the government support itself? They would no longer have control over any currency. Would BTC taxes have to be enforced? Should an alternative be sought? How can a government survive without money?

I'd like to see people's opinions on anything related to this, as I feel that most forum members are better versed in such themes than I am, and I'm open to what everyone has to say.

Please let me know why would taxes become impossible to collect with bitcoin..

How are you going to avoid paying property tax or vat with bitcoin?

It would only make it a bit hard for them to collect taxes but not impossible
277  Economy / Economics / Re: Price back to 400$ on: June 14, 2014, 12:15:30 PM
It might not drop below 400$ but will be in the range of 450-600. News of the doj selling the silkroad coins is what has caused the drop but this is good news for the ones who will buy them, so by July the price might hit 700$

Not good news for us others - who won't buy them. If they buy low and we bounce back, they have the opportunity to dump.

I guess there isn't much we can do as the doj will eventually sell them at some point
278  Economy / Economics / Re: Cex.io: the largest Bitcoin cloud mining service, not a profitable investment on: June 14, 2014, 12:12:06 PM
The main point of them providing cloud mining service is for them to profit not the customer Smiley

It goes like this:
First they buy hardware and mine for temselves while its profitable. Once it gets to barely profitable they offer it to market on ridiculous price. They sell their hardware for GOOD money so they earn twice. For that money they buy mor hardware and cicrle starts again.
In adiditon to that, they dont need to care about hardware economics asthey take BTC for electirc bill, and they will keep it going on as long as you are willing to pay the bill. They take some extra too so they profit on that too.
It's win / win / win situation for them.
^^ sums its up
Theres is not that much difference between cloud mining companies and ponzis

A sales tax would make sense. Businesses collect when you make a purchase and send it to the government just like a lot of states do right now.
Your right, if government can't tax bitcoin than will tax the goods and the  services you purchase with bitcoin. At this point, government won't have any issue to get the money from tax,but in the future, if probably will exist only virtual currency’s they will come out with ways to tax/collect money.
Their first targets will be exchanges like coinbase
