261  Economy / Speculation / Re: Post halving investing strategy. on: April 28, 2024, 02:39:18 PM
People didn't expect the bull market and a new ATH to be established prior to halving, so things are going differently, in an unexpected way. But there's no problem with the price temporarily going down. It's less than 15% below the ATH point, actually. And I think we can still expect a stronger bull run in the future. For those who want a lower price to invest, I think there will be an opportunity in the future at some point. But also, I don't think this Bitcoin has reached its ceiling this time around in terms of a bull run.

Although your prediction may be correct, I think on the contrary, if newbies want to invest, now is the best time. Bitcoin is correcting and if lower prices are not established in the coming days then I believe there will be no second chance this year. This could be bitcoin's final correction before we enter the official bull season.

Investing in bitcoin, we should not bargain too much because the market is unpredictable, just because of bargaining for 10-15%, we will have to pay the price later for missing the x2 x4 bullet train. So invest as soon as possible.
262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Making Me Wonder on: April 28, 2024, 02:20:29 PM
If you are not following bitcoin closely, there were a group of people who are always trying to make some money every halving. They are creating these tokens, inscriptions, or whatever else you want to call it in order to make money off of it. These are what caused the high amount of fees in the recent halving that took most of your bitcoins, and you're not alone in your sentiment that bitcoin halving sucks because of the high fees.

I think the OP is complaining more about why bitcoin isn't going up in price after the halving than being concerned about rising bitcoin transaction fees. Because this happened before when the BRC 20 concept appeared and it was much worse then than now.
As of right now, the fees have since normalized, and the FOMO about Runes have since died out. Bitcoin halving has always been something special for the community since it marks a certain milestone on our journey to 21m bitcoins. As we mine more and more coins, it becomes progressively harder to reach the 21m limit, and bitcoin halving helps us in that goal.

That's right, things are gradually calming down as the Rune trend is gradually fading into oblivion. But what I worry about is that until we have a solution to the transaction fee problem, the fee will increase at any time. We cannot guarantee that no junk tokens will be created after Rune.

The halving is considered special and important to investors but if it is not tied to a bull market, I think many investors never pay attention to it, and that is why is OP wondering.
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone you introduced to BTC says the risks of her funds is on you on: April 28, 2024, 02:09:00 PM
It's fine if I being responsible with the loss, but if I made profit from her funds, 95% of the profit goes to me while she only receive 10%. Tongue

It's nothing different like taking out a loan to trade, actually this is better because I don't have to refund on time and there's no interest rate.

But if I need to being responsible with the loss and I earn nothing when my prediction corrects, that's completely dumb.

Don't tell or teach people about Bitcoin or investment, they will ask you to do for them.

The best way is to never give advice or recommend bitcoin investment to anyone to avoid unnecessary trouble . If someone really wants to invest in bitcoin , just provide them with the necessary documents and let them decide for themselves . Never give advice because we will not get anything from it but the possibility that we will be blamed is very high .

Human nature is like that, greedy and likes to make profits but does not want risks to happen to them . With these types of people, don't waste our time on them , instead focus on your own investments .
264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can a seed phrase on steel or titanium sheet survive this flood? on: April 28, 2024, 01:18:43 PM
So do you remember the terrible earthquake and collapse that happened in Türkiye and do you think there will be any technology advanced enough to know the full extent of mother nature's fury? It seems like you are trying to blame the government for the natural disasters caused by mother nature.

As I understand what the OP is trying to say, the OP is pointing out the disadvantages when we use steel plates to store seed phrase and they are hidden in the house or backyard. That shows that every method has its drawbacks and nothing is absolutely safe.
Your bracelet looks beautiful and quite secretive, but can you guarantee that if you encounter a strong impact it will not fall out of your hand? Don't be too subjective, everything has its risks.
An earthquake is a completely different matter compared to a flood because your house can actually collapse completely. The main difference is where you live because if you have you own private house then you should still be able to find your steel plate; if you live in an apartment complex, maybe a big one, and it collapses then there would be so much debris that it becomes almost impossible to find it. Maybe a solution could be to place it inside some kind of strongbox colored/painted with some very bright color, like they do with plane's black boxes.

This sparked an idea - securing the steel plate in a heavy-duty strongbox that's bolted to your home's foundation seems like a logical next step.  That anchoring would provide some protection if the structure collapses.  And I wonder if hiding one of those tiny GPS tracking devices (like people use to monitor pets) inside the strongbox or even embedding it into the steel itself would allow the plate to be located later in the debris.  Just a couple ideas to think about.

Grin Grin Grin Too many ideas and none of them can guarantee absolute safety here. Personally, I think depending on the geographical area, weather situation, security as well as a combination of many other factors, we choose which method we think is the safest for us. We don't need to use other people's ways for ourselves when our circumstances and living environments are completely different.

Personally, I am very safe with backing up the seed phrase with a notebook and a copy saved on a USB, I have been safe with this method for many years and I will continue to use them.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 27, 2024, 05:57:25 PM
The match was quite interesting and indeed Frosinone seemed to be still quite tough when compared to Salernitana even though in terms of possession and opportunities Salernitana was much better but the momentum created and finishing was the difference between Frosinone and Salernitana in today's match.
A result that doesn't really matter for Salernitana but is very important for Frosinone as they are still trying to get out of the relegation zone and trying not to return to Serie B quickly.

For Sassuolo, actually their chances are also still quite there with the acquisition of points and with the number of remaining matches at this time of course the chance is still there but they have to be extra more in trying because after all they are still not safe with the current points but the rest of their matches if they achieve positive results then the possibility of getting out of the zone now still exists but it must hope that Udinese and Frosinone have bad results.

Frosinone 3-0 Salernitana

I think I have already said that Frosinone has a chance to avoid relegation in this season, in this same thread.  With this win against Salernitana, they are out of the relegation zone and Udinese is in the relegation zone right now. This was a great win for them by the way.   they have also showing good performance in recent times.  they have not lost a single match in the last 5.  and for a team that is somehow trying to avoid relegation, I think this is definitely a good performance. Now they have the same amount of points with two teams that are ahead of them.   The only problem is that they have played one match more compared to the others.  but I still think that they have a great chance to avoid relegation now. Frosinone has a match against Inter which is going to be a problem for them to win. They also have a match against Udinese by the way which is almost a must-win for Frosinone to avoid relegation.
266  Economy / Speculation / Re: Simple prediction: 2024 bitcoin at 200.000 dollars on: April 27, 2024, 04:27:35 PM
Not this year, I do not think so. I get that some people may want something like this, and that could be reasonable if you "want" it, but that would be way too much increase. We are talking about more than x3 in less than a year, we have about what 7 or so months left? Tripling the money in 7 months makes no sense at all if you ask me and that is not going to happen.

I personally believe that we are going to see maybe 100k if we are lucky and that's about it, I do not see that the price would be more than that. This is of course my speculation and my prediction, I could be wrong and if I am wrong and the price goes to 200k then I would be much richer so I do hope that I am wrong on this one, but I fear that unfortunately I am not wrong on this one and we won't go up that much.

I also thought it wouldn't happen but bitcoin is very unpredictable and it always surprises us . I mean when people don't think it will happen it can happen , just like none of us believed that bitcoin would reach a new ATH before the halving but it ended up surprising everyone . So I think we should not rule out the scenario that bitcoin will reach $200k by the end of this year.

Because bitcoin is unpredictable , I think the best thing for us to do is to always be prepared for every situation and always have a plan b if things don't go as we predicted .
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can a seed phrase on steel or titanium sheet survive this flood? on: April 27, 2024, 03:46:52 PM
Flood isn't something that will occur randomly, your government should had warn the citizen for upcoming big flood. If I live in a country where extreme floods is nothing new, I would wear secret stash bracelet. Change the keys with laminated paper which I wrote my seed phrase, so it can resist against water.

No one will know if my bracelet contain almost all of my wealth.

268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should only hold Bitcoin on: April 27, 2024, 03:35:53 PM
While you have mentioned some great points I can guarantee that diversification of your crypto portfolio or just investment portfolio holds some of its own advantages. Such as having reduce your risks. If one coin is not doing well you can expect to still gain profit from the other. Bitcoin is not always stable and is constantly fluctuating. So it’s good to explore what else is in the horizon but if you feel safe enough in just investing in one coin the be my guest.

Diversification to minimize risk is only effective when you invest in non-crypto assets, if you invest in altcoins and think it helps you minimize risk then it is a big mistake. The entire cryptocurrency market is still dominated by bitcoin, once bitcoin declines, no altcoin will be able to grow well. Like the current situation, do you see any altcoins giving you profits now that bitcoin is correcting?

I also invest in altcoins and I don't like the rigid idea of only investing in bitcoin and ignoring many potential altcoins. But the purpose of altcoin investment is to seek high profits, not to minimize risk because once bitcoin has problems, the rest will also follow.
269  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is not a lifetime job. on: April 27, 2024, 03:25:54 PM
There are many such traders who have taken up trading as a hobby and career. Most of the day they sit in front of the monitor and watch the market candles. I have a friend who has created a separate room for trading where he conducts his trading activities with only a single door. Basically there he has three big monitors mounted on the wall and one monitor he has on the table and all the monitors have charts of the coins he will be trading and he is always waiting for an opportunity. Right now he is not doing any alternative work only depending on trading he is managing his family. If he succeeds in this way, he will not think of working and if ever he works, he will not be able to manage his activities in the same way as he is now trading while working because then there will be pressure of work. If full focus can be given to any one job then that job can be taken as a life time career.

Your friend must be a professional trader. Your friend must have good finances to meet his and his family's needs. but relying on it from trading alone, probably won't be very good. Maybe at least for now, your friend is still making a good income from his trading.
but the market will not always give traders a profit. I'm sure your friend is not only a daily trader. there are other things he does even though they are still related to crypto.

I also do not support the idea of turning trading into a full-time job and main source of income because of the fluctuations and instability it brings. But I have also seen some people succeed with that choice and I really admire when they can do such extraordinary things.

Sometimes there are things we can't do and it's really difficult for many people but that doesn't mean everyone can't do it. Personally, I used to be distrustful and suspicious of anyone who said they did nothing but trade, but sometimes we need to believe that there are people who can do it.

But I wouldn't imitate them or advise anyone to make trading their main source of income, because it's too risky and not worth the trade-off. Trading is better when we consider it a side job.
270  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If all your wages were paid in USDT, would you accept it? on: April 27, 2024, 03:13:13 PM
If your salary was not US dollars, but USDT, would you dare to ask for it? Although USDT can facilitate transfers and cross-border payments, thinking about the fluctuations and risks makes me feel a little panicked! It can’t be used everywhere in daily life, What do you think? Come and chat!
I do not see too many reasons why I would want to do this, the only one that exist is that being paid in USDT will make my life slightly easier when buying bitcoin, however it would make the use of the rest of my money way more complex as no business I know accepts USDT.
If you think paying with USDT will make it difficult for you to use it, what about bitcoin? Because you are also receiving bitcoin payments from the Duelbits signature campaign and how do you use them when businesses also don't accept bitcoin?

And I suppose I would not be the only one with that kind of problem, and even if it did not existed, I am sure many people on this forum will never accept to receive stable coins as their main source of income, since we know that those coins can collapse at any given time, and we have witnessed examples of this recently.

How will USDT collapse? If I remember correctly, rumors of USDT's demise were around 10 years ago but why is it still the most used stablecoin on the market? Additionally, I also believe you are also using USDT to invest in bitcoin as it is currently the most popular stablecoin on the market.
271  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you need help? on: April 26, 2024, 01:40:26 PM
If you want to help people voluntarily and with your kind heart, why don't you make everything public for everyone to see? Why private message you and you won't be charged?
What is more important is what evidence do you have to prove that you have succeeded in getting out of trouble caused by trading and that your method is effective? I would like to know how long you have been involved in trading and what results and achievements have you achieved?
By the way, I want to give you another suggestion, if you are sure with your method, you should write books and publish them, I am sure you will make a lot of money from them  : Wink Wink.
272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The impactation of Bitcoin halving and my opinion on: April 26, 2024, 01:32:44 PM
To me the impact depends on the area you’re looking at it. If it is the price impact, I don’t think we will have the same impact as the other past halving because the percentage of the price movement is reducing this is due to bitcoin facing less volatility than before. For example in the early halving you can easily get a movement of more than 10X but now it is hard. If you look at even the current market price speculation you will notice that the highest the predictions are expected to go is 4X from the previous ATH ($69k). And as we go later in future I think the volatility will still reduce more.

As for adoption rate, I think the later we go into more halvings the more impact it gives
I agree with you. It's kind of funny when people expect a sudden price increase because of the halving, almost as if nobody knew it was coming. The halving has an impact on price on the long run because there will always be people interested in buying bitcoin so many of them will buy after the halving simply because before they couldn't buy for whatever reason.

I don't blame the newcomers because they have never experienced a halving before, but the funny thing is that there are still some investors who have gone through a halving before and also expect the price to increase immediately when the halving is completed .

Not just the halving but with any event similar to  ETFs, everything takes time to create a positive impact for bitcoin. But many investors want everything to happen immediately, and what's even more ironic is that those people often claim that they don't see bitcoin as a get-rich-quick investment. LOL.
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden resurrects 30% crypto mining tax in new budget proposal on: April 26, 2024, 01:23:23 PM
@larry_vw_1955. It will cause developers and users to become more anonymous and use more illegal methods to swap their coins to fiat currencies. Also, the government will use fud to make ordinary people afraid to adopt crypto. This is headshaking because if the government is successful, the users that will be left are the natives of the cryptospace and the criminals who are not afraid to use this.

If this proposal is approved, the US government is shooting itself in the foot because many investors and operators will find more ways to avoid taxes than comply with the law. But I don't think the government is stupid to spread Fud to keep people away from crypto when they have approved bitcoin ETFs. If they do that then who will invest in bitcoin and how will they tax everyone?

Governments are becoming more and more crypto-friendly and in the near future, we will soon see crypto adoption worldwide. The era of anti-crypto governments is over, we don't need to have such negative, hostile thoughts anymore.
274  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin users should be humanitarian for Palestinians. on: April 26, 2024, 01:13:10 PM
Have you not read the pinned post? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1649348 (Low quality topics do not belong in this forum)

What has happened to humanity for someone to think that wanting to gather people to help a nation being wiped off from the face of the earth is low quality? We are talking about literal people here and all you care about is the quality of a post? Mate go check your own posts and reevaluate if you are delivering high quality ones.

I know this is probably the right board to post this as this might be more fitting in politics & society or off-topic but calling this post low quality is dehumanizing.
don't mind the clawn that's just trying to claim relivance. What's the whole essence of Bitcoin investments when we can't think on how to support our fellow humans that are currently going through a whooe of a situation because of some political folks that aren't ready to give peace a chance? I know it would have been a better option if he had posted this in politics and society board but maybe for the sake of having the intended reach, this might be the reason for posting it here in the general board so everyone can have access to it.

Do you know why the forum has to divide into many boards for different topics?

I'm not against this topic and I'm not from those two warring countries either. But I think we should not mix investing in bitcoin with helping someone, and think that it is a responsibility or shows the spirit of true bitcoin investors. Many Palestinians are experiencing the darkest days caused by war, but they are not the only ones having the most miserable lives on the planet. Many famines are still happening in many parts of the world, many places are experiencing natural disasters, floods... too many bad things are happening all over the world. And are you willing to help all those people just because you are a bitcoin investor?
I'm not saying people shouldn't donate to support the Palestinian, but we shouldn't mix investment and charity because everyone's situation is different.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin the Dubmest Thing Ever Invented on: April 26, 2024, 12:56:25 PM
In short, Bitcoin is the dumbest thing ever invented.

If bitcoin is a stupid invention then why do you join the bitcoin forum and care about it? Do you think you're smart when you join a bitcoin forum and say that bitcoin is a bad thing? From this alone I can judge how low your IQ is. As for whether bitcoin is good or bad, whether it is a great invention or terrible, there is a global community that evaluates it, and with your limited knowledge, you are not qualified to evaluate bitcoin. Many governments, countries, organizations and companies have recognized bitcoin, do you think you are smarter and wiser than those people? Knowledge is what you need right now.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: April 26, 2024, 10:33:43 AM
Both Atletico Madrid and Atletic Bilbao couldn't put up a proper game performance in their last league games respectively and it meant amd made them go short of points which makes their next game against themselves be more challenging as they won't really have an easy access to the top spot.
Yeah these 2 teams missed points in the last few games even though we know they are in a race to win a ticket to the Champions League next season, Athletic Bilbao is 3 points behind at the moment they should have been able to take advantage when Atletico Madrid was defeated by Alaves but unfortunately no, Bilbao only played a draw against Granada. I doubt Bilbao can catch Atletico Madrid in the remaining 6 matches unless Bilbao can beat Atletico in the upcoming match on April 28.
We are currently having good competition for the fourth spot between these two with both are losing points and having inconsistency which is hurting them badly in last five games we are having 6 points for the Atlético Madrid and 8 points for the Athletic Bilbao which is clearly showing how things are going, but this match is going to be vital for both teams because if we have won for the Atlético Madrid then difference of points could be 6, and they will be clearly favourite for the fourth spot but if we have won for the Athletic Bilbao then surely things will be not favourable for the home side and both teams will be having equal points and things will be gone for the Athletic Bilbao to win and go through for the Champions League spot which could be big below for the home side and things could be surely not good as now we are having challenging situation at the top of the La Liga with the arrival of the Girona.

I actually do not think I have seen any team be such unpredictable and inconsistent as Atletico Madrid.  I never expected that they were going to lose this match with Alaves.  by the way the goalkeeper of Alaves did really well in this match.  he made sure that Atletico Madrid was unable to score any goals.  and the defending from Atletico Madrid was also almost non existant in this match.  anytime the opponent had the ball in the final third,  Atletico Madrid was blocking like they did not know what to do at all.  so that finishing from Alaves for both of the goals was actually really good.  they have missed some chances as well otherwise they could have scored more.

the passing from Atletico Madrid was good by the way.  but in the end, they were unable to make anything happen with the finishing. At this point, I am starting to question myself whether Atletico Madrid actually deserves to stay in the top four positions or not to be honest
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Event [2024], Reality! on: April 25, 2024, 04:53:19 PM
The bull run will happen when it wants to but the miners are having a good time post halving as the transaction fees are now insanely high due to the network congestion. The block rewards have come down from BTC6.25 to BTC3.125, but that will not hamper them as the fees are hovering from 120 sat/vB to 800 sat/vB. Imagine someone who wants to transfer $20 worth of Bitcoin, will it be possible to make such a transaction at such high fees?
If TX fees are high, you just have to be patient sometimes.
Today being the 25th day of April, after monitoring the mempool for some days now, I saw transaction fees lower than $10.

so it is possible the fees get normal again and stay that way.

Transaction fees are trending down over the past 2 days and the reason is because Rune is cooling down quickly. Perhaps things will soon return to normal in the coming days but there is no guarantee that something similar to ORDI will not be created in the future.

Those who are not in a hurry can delay the transaction and wait for the fee to decrease, but what about urgent transactions? This is a problem that requires a radical solution, waiting is not the solution. Not to mention, once the bull season arrives, the demand for bitcoin will increase even more and then we will see even crazier fees than now.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the number of new investors reduce? on: April 25, 2024, 04:42:46 PM
I don't think that new Bitcoin investors will decrease in the future, seeing the potential of Bitcoin in the future makes many retail investors interested in entering this market. Maybe right now many of these retail investors are still waiting and seeing what market conditions will be like, but if the market shows bullishness later, I'm sure that they will immediately enter and invest their money. It just takes time.

I also think that current new investors still don't have much interest in bitcoin because they hardly care about the halving and don't even know what it is. What they care about is wanting to see the price of bitcoin increase, so when the market goes up, bitcoin also goes up, that will be when we will have more new investors than now.

Halving is the most anticipated event for long-time investors because they understand that it will create positive impacts for bitcoin as well as the market. But for new investors, they don't know what it is, so attracting new investors at this time is not effective.
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock for the first time after the launch of bitcoin ETF had $0 inflow. on: April 25, 2024, 03:57:57 PM
It’s impossible to happened that there’s a sudden no demand while a day before still has a decent inflow on funds. Probably there’s an error on their system that makes investors unable to enter money for Bitcoin ETF investments purposes.

The chart shows that there’s a decent demand on all of the days before yesterday record. It doesn’t make sense for an inflow to stop immediately at 0 rate for a hot ETF like Bitcoin.

Haha, we need to accept the truth, don't stubbornly think it's a system error or some reason. And that only happens with Blackrock, not all ETFs.

I believe that traditional investors pay a lot of attention to macro news and as we see there is too much geopolitical instability in the world as well as inflation in the US which is showing signs of increasing again. Therefore, it is not too difficult to understand when people delay and hesitate to invest to avoid losses. Additionally , if this condition persists for several days, it is time to worry. Now is not the time and we need to wait a few more days to have a more accurate assessment.
280  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin’s bull run coming to an end? on: April 25, 2024, 03:33:48 PM
Everyone is waiting for the bull season which means we will see bitcoin increase x3, x4 and many altcoins will increase x5, x10 and then we will have a bear season coming. And what I'm trying to say is that there won't be a crazy, uniform price increase, I think bitcoin will go up like the stock market. It will increase slowly, not suddenly like previous price increases we have experienced. That is another scenario that I am thinking about, as I said above, it is likely that the market will behave more like the stock market with the participation of large investment funds.
I hope that is the case as I would like to see a change on the growth pattern of bitcoin, but I am not so sure this will happen during this bull run, as just during the past year the price grew at a very fast pace during just a few months, indicating that the old tendencies of bitcoin are alive and well.

However with enough time and money the behavior of this market could finally change, which in return it will attract even more investors which are more interested on a constant increase on their portfolio, than the dramatic movements we have seen bitcoin do over the past years.

I don't think many people will like this scenario if the cryptocurrency market moves and develops like the stock market . That means we will no longer see crazy price increases for bitcoin and altcoins, the reduced volatility will make it less attractive. Most people choose and invest in cryptocurrency because of its high volatility, it can give us better returns but if that disappears , I think people will gradually leave the market .

It will happen sooner or later but I agree with you , it will not happen in this cycle and perhaps this is the last cycle before we have a big change in the future.
