261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTR] vTorrent - Share with freedom | Bittrex on: August 13, 2016, 09:19:26 PM
The dev's already said that this release won't have the torrent features.

When?

New wallet and some insight into our progress.

He's referring to this, but didnt look at the date:

I had the same feeling about the screenshot that it looks pasted especially around the 'TORRENT' button area, but after I went through their source code on github, I found that the button itself and some of the torrent related stuff is actually there in the source code but disabled or commented out for some reason.

Here some of the stuff I've found

.....

  SOURCES += src/qt/torrent/torrentmodel.cpp \
             src/qt/torrent/shutdownconfirm.cpp
}
} #torrent_enable

Anyway, I might be wrong but this looks very legit to me, but I still don't know why dev would remove all of the torrent related stuff in this released.

Hello,

Good job in digging in our mess Cheesy

We have decided to remove all the torrent related stuff on the first release since it was still in a very early development stage, and as we stated in the first post that currently only download function is available making it pretty much gimmick. We will release it when its ready.

Oh you're right, my mistake I thought that was a recent post.

Waves Q&A session is finished, but you can watch a recording of this event - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sL_VQfxwvRE

Please retweet - https://twitter.com/coremedia_info/status/764519807408545792

Thank you guys! Smiley

Thanks to Sasha for taking the time. He comes across as almost recklessly outspoken on twitter, but this has gone a long way towards dispelling any doubts I had about his professionalism. I'm only halfway through, but already I'm more excited than ever about the project's future. If anyone's experiencing doubts about whether they made the right decision by choosing to invest (and remain invested) in Waves, I recommend watching it.

Did I understand right ?

Full nodes are not incoming this week, and Sasha was talking about bounties aswell as test net for full nodes ?

I thought nodes were already being tested, and ready to be released.

I missed the beginning.  Thought he said there were problems with the node but they fixed them, now the fixes needed to be tested.

Did he say asset exchange was being released as well in the next weeks?

Yes, he said custom tokens will be launched alongside the full nodes now.

Interesting idea. You've earmarked 20% of the premined supply for "market making". Can you explain exactly what you mean by that and is there anything to stop you just dumping those coins at some point?
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Pascal Coin: P2P cryptocurrency without need of historical operations on: August 13, 2016, 02:24:49 PM
This looks interesting! Tried mining with port 4004 open but I'm only getting connections to the servers and not other clients so no mining happening. Any suggestions?

Edit: I'm seeing a lot of access violations in the logs, don't know if that's relevant.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTR] vTorrent - Share with freedom | Bittrex on: August 13, 2016, 02:18:08 PM
Dear all investors and supporters,

As of now, vTorrent network is currently at block number 999,9xx and will be reaching block number 1,000,000 very soon.

I will be releasing our new client for both Windows and Mac as promised along with provide some insight to our progress within next Sunday.

Thank you all for your support,

vTorrent

so tomorrow new wallet?

Looks that way Smiley

Hopefully it will be closed source until the wallet is tested, assuming it comes with torrent features.

Then open sourced at $5m or so.

The dev's already said that this release won't have the torrent features.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Antshares-Digital Asssets for Everyone,Starts 8.8, 1st refundable ICO on: August 12, 2016, 06:47:13 PM
Is there any information about the 1000 BTC buy? Does anybody have a clue who this person/persons is/are?

maybe DEV!?  Grin

We buy 1000BTC and let everyone else think it is overpriced and refund... Sounds like a great plan

I don't get it, Antshares developer bought antshares of 1000BTC, why are they sourcing for money again if they can afford 1000BTC to buy into their own project? I just don't understand

He was being sarcastic.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Antshares-Digital Asssets for Everyone,Starts 8.8, 1st refundable ICO on: August 12, 2016, 06:28:10 PM
I am confused about the previous ICO phase I in 2015. What's up with that? Is this a continuation? A fork of the previous project?  Huh

That's the first round of funding for our project. This is the second round not a continuation.
Project is Antshares all along

Where can I get more info on the first ICO (money raised, coins allocated and at what price etc.)?

You can check the second reply (under the bounty) of this thread to find more information. Let me know if those are not enough.
Thanks!

Thanks for your response. Actually the links don't give all that much information (at least not in English) about the first ICO. How many Antshares were distributed during it and at what price? Thanks

It's around 17m Antshares distributed for total 2100BTC.
Thanks!

Thank you. Can I suggest that be added to the OP (or at least the ICO post below). I also couldn't find information on the total supply, could you tell me how many Antshares there will be in total in the beginning and also the maximum possible supply. Thanks again for your help.

271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Tao - Smart Contracts for Real Life - The Crowd Sale on: August 11, 2016, 07:36:04 PM

The problem is, you have a bunch of assholes who are willing to research as far as the word "scam", but not willing to ACTUALLY research.  It becomes very clear that one of the biggest problems Bryce encountered was SLANDER AND FUD.

...

And when you talk about "failure rate" of his projects, his success rate is MUCH higher than the average 92% failure rate of ALL start-ups.

...

Effectively, you have people in this thread spreading bullshit.

...

Stop being assholes.

Chris
CSO Bitland Global

No idea who you are or what Bitland is, but that is about as far from a professional message as I can imagine.  Not a great first impression, engaging with people in that manner...

And regarding Bryce - anyone who wanted to do due diligence and talk to folks like Worth Godwin about Bitseeds or Brian Kelly about Nautiluscoin would soon find out what an incompetent (at best) and duplicitous person he has been in his crypto dealings.  Not to mention his past carnival barker-esque/delusional rantings, such as this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oX_OSq4v0M ...

Thankfully, projects like $XSEED, $GHC and $NAUT have managed to recover with the help of actual, capable programmers such as Luke Williams and Julian Yap, etc. - any success in a once-Bryce coin is DESPITE his behaviour and actions.

Other Bryce coins seem more ill-fated: $RZR, $AMK, $XPD, $XDQ, $OSC, etc.  All dead or near-death.

In short, Bryce creates a trail of digital crypto tears, and I can't recall a single crypto project he's been involved with at the DEV level in which the person hiring him was pleased with the results.  He's smart enough to speak in aphorisms so you can never really pin him down on anything, but don't be fooled.

Buyer beware, is all.  (And I do have to say that his coins have historically pumped at first - just crazily tanked shortly after launch for the most part, due to problems which are miraculously never due to his level of competence or chicanery.)

Thanks for filling us in on this guy's shady history. I'll be keeping well away from this one.

Edit: Wow that video's pretty illuminating.

273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN/DISCUSSION] Silk Network: Silk, DarkSilk and Weaver on: August 09, 2016, 06:47:16 PM
Polo has huge volume but are very opaque in practice.  The way they handled the etc drop showed absolute disregard for users over fee intake.

Said this a while back.  Polo is busy with ETC/ETH money makers.  Nothing else matters to them at this point.  Maybe a couple months down the road from now.  But if it is imperative to get on an exchange with the release, honestly I wouldn't hold my breath for Polo.  Unfortunately Polo is now in a world where money talks.  Didn't use to be that way, but hey whatever, to each his own.

I don't know what makes you think this wasn't always the case though. They're running a business and whether you agree with it or not listing ETC didn't suddenly change that in some way. They've always been primarily money-oriented. Still, there's a prestige associated with being listed on Poloniex that the team here fully deserves plus it means SLK reaching a wider audience (and higher volume). We've all been waiting for more than a year now, I don't think waiting another week or two to arrange being listed on the biggest exchange in the world is too great a sacrifice. Then if there's still been no reply they can look at alternatives.
Listing ETC without any notice and stripping it out of ETH lending orders on launch is an opportunistic and borderline illegal 'business' practice.  We have to be there because thats where the volume is, period, not because its magical and prestigious-  we're already listed there ffs.

What do you mean by stripping it out of ETH lending orders?

You can transfer them to a local wallet and stake them until the swap, or you can buy something from someone thatll accept it.  If youre in the market for nootropics, i'll accept it.

Yes, I'm curious as to why they are hesitant to reply. Their support service is rather slow imo.

They just launched im sure theyre busy with real issues, if their coinlist stays short longterm id def like to see silk on it

Maybe he meant polo's support. They're leagues ahead of most other exchanges, I think it's worth waiting a little longer to hear back from them.

I can't subscription in the site ICO
I always get a message Email address is wrong!
I'm sure my email is not wrong.

Same issue here.

Also I was wondering, the 2 Antshare bounty for retweeting is that for every retweet? And do we have to register somewhere for the sig campaign? Thanks

278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SCAM ALERT] Elastic Project - The Decentralized Supercomputer on: August 07, 2016, 09:56:22 AM
Agreed this is one of the clearest examples of a scam I've seen in recent times. Well done for trying to warn people about it. It started with a newbie account whose real-life name was supposedly "Lionel Keys" posting as ElasticCoin. Immediately a few of us pressed for some kind of info to verify his identity (given it was an ICO without escrow), which he said would be coming soon. In the mean time I began finding Evil-Knievel's behaviour in the thread extremely suspicious. He wasn't (publicly) in charge of the probject at this point but from the start was shilling hard (talking about how much he'd invested) and answering the bulk of the questions that were intended for the dev. It was obvious to me he was involved with the project whilst pretending not to be.

Every post from the ElasticCoin account was subsequently deleted from that thread (presumably when they realized they'd messed up and that there was no way to hide how shady the whole thing was), Lionel Keys disappeared (abandoning a project he'd supposedly spent months working on and preparing) and Evil-Knievel suddenly emerged as project lead.

I haven't enough time to dig through it, but here's the original thread. Evil-Knievel has also deleted every single post he made in that thread, though enough of his and ElasticCoin's original posts have been preserved in quotes in replies to show you what's going on here.
