261  Economy / Auctions / advertise in my signature-good for a lifetime on: October 07, 2012, 06:00:42 PM
putting my signature space up for auction for a banner ad.  this can never be removed so you have a lifetime of advertising for a one time fee.   i spend a lot of time on this forum and ive noticed im posting more and more.
if you have a banner add that will fit into my signature, BELOW THE LINKS I ALREADY HAVE UP.  then feel free to bid.

since this will be my banner forever  i will only accept bitcoin related ads.  i have the right to refuse if someone designs an ad that is foul, profane, or just outright unnaceptable.   i will only accept legit bitcoin business.   since i could easily set up some sort of referral link and make small amounts with the space over a lifetime im going to start the bidding at 1.5btc

this auction will last 7 days.   so on the end of october 14th at midnight eastern standard time this auction will end.

once i recieve payment and the html code i will insert it into my signature.

   good luck      1.5btc   starting now!

this guy needs to lay off the adderall if hes cranking them out that fast... it does appear that my neighbors chainmail is a tighter smaller diameter linkage, so maybe thats why it takes him so long.   he also made a glove with his clan emblem made out of red loops on the top, not really my thing but pretty fuckin cool.
265  Economy / Scam Accusations / poke-her from seals with clubs on: October 07, 2012, 12:49:10 PM
sorry i dont know if we can post a scam that happened elsewhere than on this forum but if anyone has any info about the user poke-her on seals with clubs i would appreciate it.  I lent him 2500 chips (2.5btc) and gave me his e-mail and told me he was going to paypal the money the my account.  we e-mailed back and forth a couple of times, and after some time went by i tried to e-mail him about where my chips were and the e-mail was deleted.

so if anyone knows if he has an identity on this forum id like him to have a scammer tag.

he set me up good and i actually trusted him,  he popped my scam cherry.

he lent me a couple hundred chips once when i was broke, when i tried paying him back extra he only accepted what i had borrowed.
we would play at the same table and bullshit for hours.  He asked to purchase and since i felt we were becoming friends i sent them first.

like the topic in the newbie section says TRUST NO ONE

  wild wild west for sure

well i makes perfect sense now bear!!   dank is a mutant.  that cleared a lot up. i feel cathartic, what an epiphany.  Ive been playing bass since i was 17  i toured all over  i made serious effort and like 99.9% percent of other musicians  it just didnt work out.
i mean hes been playing almost 2 months now, thats like 30 mutant years.    im sorry i was confused.
268  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Dank Bank Deposits - dank soul guarantee - 1.2%-2.0% weekly on: October 07, 2012, 09:53:11 AM
not trying to be a dick, but i see a lot of loan requests from you from you wich youve claimed to pay back.

my question is if youre so good at investing and can pay 2% intrest every week, why do you still need loans?
if you can make so much investing than some of youre other loans should have produced profit which you could have reinvested and made more profit,   rinse repeat.
you say these rates are guranteed, i dont know of any investments that are guranteed, there are always risks.

i would just think if you were as good with bitcoins as you claim at this point you wouldnt need loans anymore.
just sounds like an insane risk when you wont even provide your identity.
im afraid of what youre possibly going to get away with one day,  but good luck anyways.  its real easy to become a famous guitarist, you should have no trouble especially with how long youve been practicing.  youre the next big thing.

270  Economy / Lending / Re: 60 BTC loan on: October 07, 2012, 07:33:03 AM
wow...just read every post, amazing. Dank set the terms, you helped him 1 with the initial loan   2 with the rate adjustment
and has the nerve to call you greedy when you want what was owed to you.
crisis or not my car payment is due the same day every month.  i signed an agreement and understand the terms i agreed to.

I cant believe a grown man who actually is asking for an awful lot of bitcoins to open a hookah lounge cant pay back a 60btc loan and then makes excuse after excuse like a 10 year old child.

man up. apologize to your lender and repay your debt. accept that you are at fault.     you set the terms.  you sealed your fate.

be a big boy and admit you fucked up.

271  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: otc-rating on: October 07, 2012, 06:25:31 AM
wow...i read that thread and what i thought wot and otc are is a little different.   as much as people like to see that you are rated i thought there was way more accountability and was a great way to tell if someone is trustworthy.

im not bashing the system or anything but it really doesnt mean anything in the big scheme of things huh?

the more i thought about raising my rating today, the more i thought that buying items from others or lending btc instead of borrowing is probably the better route.

still a little disappointed that what i assumed was a great way to determine if someone is going to scam you or not,  or a great way to show im trustworthy and get a loan  really doesnt hold the value i thought it did.

scammers are going to scam regardless and my question about buying a rating was basically confirmed.

i know as of right now there is no better system  but just shocked so many people put so much faith and emphasis on having a good rating.  im going to work on raising my rating anyway but just a little bummed out it can easily be faked or bought.

  thanks again for the replies
272  Economy / Trading Discussion / otc-rating on: October 06, 2012, 09:22:18 PM
i have a question about the whole idea basically and am wondering what others think.
im newly verified and i have one rating from a friend of mine that we both lend too on a regular basis depending on our current situations financially (usd and btc)  since we have done so many trades he rated me.    That cost me nothing.

i ussually use bitinstant and i buy less that $100 worth of btc at a time.  the fee they charge me for moneygram is $3.95

instead of using bitinstant i asked around otc channel to see if i anyone wanted me to buy a moneypak or xbox live card or any other sort of prepaid card to sell for btc, that way i could get more ratings and improve my trust level, getting ratings from someone else other than my friend i trust completely and always do trades with.

ok.... so the fees on these prepaid cards are anywhere from $5.00 to $6.00  most people on otc i found want to pay you less than the actual face value of the card in bitcoins.  so your losing your $5.00 fee for purchasing the card and you are also losing out on being paid less than face value.

so basically im just curious, if you're willing to lose money on a bunch of these trades you could raise your rating substantially.
so is a bitcoin-otc rating basically bought?

most people who are willing to lend bitcoins want to see you have a high otc rating and are trustworthy, but if you can just take a hit on these cards and build up your rating   what is an otc rating really worth?
if i lost $100 on building up my rating  and people see that im trustworthy  what would stop someone from getting a huge btc loan with this bought rating and skate with the funds?

im just a little confused about the whole thing and how to build a rating without loseing money or basically "buying" my rating.

i tried putting goods up on the forum to trade for bitcoin but there didnt seem to be any interest so i moved them to ebay, which ill pay a paypal fee to recieve money.
if i then use paypal to try and buy bitcoin from someone i lose out again covering the sellers fee.  then once again ive bought a rating.

I really have no computer skills to trade for btc, any of my technology (ipod, xbox, camera) or my guitars im not wiling to part with for usd or for btc.

how can someone legitimetly(spelling wrong)  build an otc rating without basically "buying" it?  i understand people hold this rating to a high standard and use it to determine people are trust worthy  and maybe i dont fully understand the gpg keys and the ratings all together.  but if you bought your rating skipped out with the money, what would stop someone from erasing whatever is certified(i dont understand, is it just the otc user name?) or erase the wallet or whatever is connected to otc and just start over?

im sorry if this has been discussed before, and i dont fully understand what my otc rating means.   all i know is it seems like its going to cost me money to raise it.  and that kind of devalues the rating for me.

if i can just bitinstant for $3.95  instead of loseing on every otc transaction to build rep, wheres the bonus and value of the otc rating?

thanks for reading and id really like to hear some responses to this!!
273  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: GLBSE Closed. on: October 06, 2012, 08:46:48 PM
wow glad i sold all my satoshidice and withdrew a few weeks ago, this is crazy. could this happen to Mt.gox? or is it because glbse was a stock exchange?  Im afraid to do anything with bitcoin these days.
274  Economy / Lending / Re: [Loan] 3btc personal loan(closed/postponed until my I.D and Address are verified on: October 06, 2012, 08:34:23 PM
haha i thought that all you had to say before you offended someone to get away with it.
but im sorry claire i know nothing about you ... except you cant make your house payment, you have sex with yourself on camera for bitcoins, ussually that sort of activity goes hand in hand with drug abuse.  Ive known a few strippers and none of them would have been in that line of work unless they needed drugs.
maybe shes the exception, im sure she is a nice church going girl who is just in a rough spot in life right now.  by all means she seems very legit and trustworthy.  send her your bitcoins lol.

275  Economy / Lending / Re: [Loan] 3btc personal loan(closed/postponed until my I.D and Address are verified on: October 06, 2012, 07:43:35 PM
i removed my loan  i sent them my I.D.  and my address info to raise my score.  im just waiting for btcjam to review my info and then i will relist a loan request.  when my score is higher.
and no offense to claire but she seems pretty suspect. and im definitly not a sex cam whore whose loan excuses sound a lot like someone addicted to pills telling sob stories for drug money.

279  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling $25 MoneyPak for bitcoin on: October 05, 2012, 08:48:38 PM
man thats steep.  $25 moneypack  has a $5 fee when you purchase.  so really $30  got you $19.33 worth of bitcoin.  ouch
280  Economy / Currency exchange / i have $40 bucks what should i do? on: October 05, 2012, 08:44:27 PM
ok so im not a rich man by any means.  i have $40 and was just going to moneygram bitinstant like i normally do.
there is a gas station a block away that sells all sorts of prepaid cards and moneypak and such but the fees are higher than bitinstant.

so does anyone need a prepaid card or anything that i can trade for bitcoins or will i end up losing out since $5 of the card i buy will be used for the fee.

they have xbox cards also and those do not have a fee. so i could buy 2 $20 xbox points cards and trade someone here for bitcoin?

let me know what you think the best route is.
                                         thanks
