This is just the same shit we had from 'Zyphus' and his friends last week. The post above with falso rumours should actually be moderated. Differing opinion is good. Purposely false rumours aren't...
But you can't know if they are false rumors before the events have played out. Also, we need someone to be BTC bears, there are enough BTC cheerleaders in here. Do these 'cheerleaders' understand how Bitcoin works as well, and what roles Proof of Work, HashCash and the like or Public-key cryptography play in Bitcoin?

I've said to much, this isn't a secure line.
Over and out.
Obviously not since this is a public forum, lol Also your speculation of "Bitcoin will crash in 8 hours" wasn't specific to what amount it will crash? Maybe it will crash to 0.01USD downwards? LOL ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) That's totally ok for me because it will gain 1000 fold afterwards ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Wow another real world store accepting Bitcoin. This is also a healthy shop store, reminds me of a shop I bought some beer yeast from...probably a similar kind of shop...

Been searching forum for people to make the argument that 'without a stable price' we get problem A, B and C etc. Found no such argumentation so I open this thread for that.
I still promote Bitcoin but only helping people understand it technically. I believe that Bitcoin retains a basic price from all the people understanding the core technologies. We have many Bitcoin fans who love it for what it gives practically but they may not yet know about how it all works and why it just doesn't fall apart 'where it is standing'.
When the Bitcoin price stability only holds for 2-3 days I hesitate myself to buy Bitcoins because I can't really be sure and reassure myself 'am I buying at the right price or am I being scammed?'.
So for me it's hard to promote it on regard of 'use it now, it's good' easy to promote on 'first of its kind in history pairing of proof of work and digital signatures'(technical fascination, howstuffworks) but I would like to have your ideas as well. What are the upsides of the Bitcoin price not being stable? Also is it harder then to promote Bitcoin for you?

1 comment in that article awaiting moderation about that the image is out of date. Meze Grill no longer accepts BTC

Guess this news wasn't big enough for bloomberg to host the relating video on their youtube channel.

Edit: Post heavily edited to highlight what I want to highlight. Note to self: with so many edits maybe Bitcointalk should keep a history, like Wikipedia does. Though the downside is the huge amounts of storage required. like gender does matter, for ppl who care about that il have just to say one thing: ur a primitive animal!
Well you're not telling that to one(1) person only, exactly...but speaking generally these may or may not be covered: Sexual remarks and just plain general stereotyping and discrimination is very very common on Bitcoin forums. You don't see the problem, but look here. Sterotypes are so implanted in many people's brains, no?:

It must be difficult to write a quality article about Bitcoin without detailed understanding of it. As more coins are generated, these problems get ever more complex No they don't. The same code is used, but the difficulty increases, it gets harder to find a fitting checksum that is sought for a number of leading zero numbers in a hash. These are necessary technical details to avoid people writing articles which may be strongly misleading.

Article was OK. No real opinion put forth by the writer, just a regurgitation of others' opinions. Comments are unintelligent, as is to be expected.
+ that to reply one needs to register on the verge. Anyway I reply here because I love the Bitcoin community, your input is valuable, unlike most spamthreads on most newssites... So it is not considered as "money transmitting" if I just buy stuff with Bitcoins. Is it considered "money transmitting" if I buy Bitcoins from an exchange? If yes, I think I'd rather find a job with Bitcoins as a salary(the hard bit), or I'd rather go to some Bitcoin meeting parties(never found the need to yet, since exchanges are most practical at the moment...)

Both the Bitcoin Foundation and everybody else failed to quote this section: A person that creates units of this convertible virtual currency and uses it to purchase real or virtual goods and services is a user of the convertible virtual currency and not subject to regulation as a money transmitter So, we get everybody onto Bitcoin, and then we sell and buy stuff for Bitcoin, so we are all legal. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Thanks for reporting. This 'news' was basically "help I don't understand Bitcoin, please somebody explain!". Good.

Congrats teste! I see you've done work here as well "Kyrios Pousada" tourism=hotel http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/node/2185635271Also notice that opening this thread may have had some effect. At March the 3rd a 3rd geolocation was added for a place that accepts BTC! Then we have stick who've added 'hackerspace' some non-profit in Prague, Czech Republic. I just imagine there are lots of geolocations that accept Bitcoin, but we just haven't made this data free(and linked!) yet. Though +3(3 nodes in total with the tag payment:bitcoin=*) for the current work! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Keep it up! ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

There are more apps using openstreetmap, for example i use Navefree.
Do you map any on openstreetmap or do you just enjoy that lots of nice geoinfo is out there? ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

Good idea. The first time I mapped a point of interest on openstreetmap related to Bitcoin was when I added a domino's pizza restaurant in northern Greece(in mah home city). Though I now know that http://pizzaforcoins.com/ only works in the U.S.A. + that they are a proxy and that domino's don't accept them directly but what the heck: If you can buy food for Bitcoin I'm all for it ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

"I think what will happen now is going to be a good test of the community," says Hearn. "We have to get as many people upgraded to 0.8 as possible, as fast as possible, and then go through a deliberate hard fork much earlier than we had planned." I wish Mike Hearn wasn't out there saying stuff like this in the press. This is purely his opinion. People have this thing called 'freedom of expression' we all enjoy. Ooops!! ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Also if we don't allow people to defend themselves we are like denying some of their human rights. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Bitcoin is much about freedom, we should never forget this. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Disagreeing with another one's opinion is perfectly cool though ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) As long as we stay away from Ad Hominem and such ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
