^^ Bitch, bitch, bitch...
Ya *do* know that we are still a couple blocks ahead of what the expected number is right?

Still but from what it looks like not for long!  Undecided
Fortunately, neither you, nor anyone else, can predict the future luck of any pool Wink
Nor does the history affect that.
The expected future luck is always 100% less orphans.

We know Kano, we know.  I guess we were just hoping for another April.  Wink

Well I have not purchased from Canaan and or ran their hardware, but this is what I like about Bitmain. You can get on a list to be notified of release data.

So, for my pool buddies:

We are pleased to inform you that we will release a new batch of the Antminer S9 here at 11AM tomorrow (21 September, GMT+8)!
This new batch, too, delivers a hash rate of 14TH/s and an efficiency of 0.098J/GH. Because of the high demand and the manufacturing period, shipping for this batch will start on a “first paid, first ship” basis, after 1 December 2017. If we advance the shipment, we will notify you.

So yeah heard it hear first, because I just got this email. If you want an S9, I suggest you get one while you can.

Thanks!  Although I got the same one because I'm on the list too!  Cheesy

Have we jumped up a difficulty?  Seems like it's pretty hard to crack them blocks lately even with having +10ph.  Roll Eyes.  The btc price is recuperating though, that's good news!  Wink

Yes difficulty has jumped of 19.58%! We are still a little fish in the sea with roughly 1.2% of BTC hashrate.

few weeks back there were talks that the difficulty is supposed to go down

The BTC price really need to hurry up and get up there!   Angry

I got a bottle of this for my dad yesterday before I left - he thinks it's pretty ok Smiley

It's around $50 (‎¥4850) at a bottle shop in Tokyo (Hasegawa) but 3 or more times that in any other country Smiley

Wow $50 per bottle is really cheap!  Shocked  Goes around $100 a bottle here, same goes for Buchanan's 18  Grin

Hey everyone! Long time lurker here. I migrated over 600th from our farm into the pool over the last few days, part of which is coming from all 8 of the 741's we have.
I thought it was only appropriate to put those into Kano.  Wink

Good luck to us all! With difficulty going up 20% this time around, we're going to need it.

Welcome aboard comrade!  You're just on time, we're having a good time this month!  Grin

probably off topic but I believe experts are here.
I have access to a cold room. The temp is around 4 Celcius, and thinking of running my miners in it. Any opinions or experience?
The S9/T9 temp in the specs is 0 to 40 Celcius.
thanks.
Ja, is OT, especially since there are a ton of threads about s9 cooling in the hardware area.
That said, OK -- the room is around 4C:
Why? Is it a large walk-in refrigerator? Remember, a storage refrigerator or freezer is NOT sized to remove a lot of heat being added to what is inside. Mainly they are made to KEEP things cold with just a little reserve margin.
.
Is it mechanical refrigeration (A/C) for another reason?
If it *is* A/C -- what is the systems cooling capacity?
You do realize that miners are pretty much perfect space heaters right?

Considering that if using a nice ballpark power of 1.5kW for EACH s9, that equates to 4,712BTU/hr added heat load in that cold room. Got a hunch that with a few miners in there it won't be cold for long...

It all depends on the size of the room as well and the number of the miners.  If you just put one or 2 in it it might hold up but if you add more the room will heat up really quick and you will have to have some kind of airflow going through it.  Just connect a hose to each miner and point them out, they sell adapters for that as well.  Then the room temp will stay pretty much the same.  Smiley

Once the BTC gets to your wallet, it's only whoever controls your wallet that can move the BTC somewhere else.

If Coinbase controls your wallet (not you) they can move the coins around as they please, I guess.

Oh, that's probably Coinbase internally moving them based on their own internal needs. But Coinbase keeps track of my account totals so I still have the same amount internally with their system. Got it.

I didn't even think about how they'd use the wallets internally like that. Thanks for the reply and making me realize what was happening.

Even if they ever used your coins for something they would never let you know about it and I find it really hard to believe that they sent your coins somewhere and actually told you about it!  Lol  Cheesy

Dann power still off. G%rrrrr
That's why after the Great Northeast Blackout in 2003 I got a whole-house natural gas fueled generator. We were out for 2 weeks and I said 'SCREW THIS!'
Do you use a propane gas generator to power your miners?  Or you just use it for the house?
If you don't have natural gas yes propane works as well for them, being a permanent whole house genset it is all automatic. Power goes out, generator starts and within 30sec power is on until the utility power returns. If need be can run for 2 weeks at a stretch before needing oil and filter change. Only have 5.5kw of miners at home, mainly is just nice not EVER caring about power outages again...

They are not that expensive, in late 2003 got mine through Home Depot, 13kw with automatic transfer switch and including all installation/permits etc was around $9k.

As for my miners in the main farm at work , more recently we had a large outage about 2 years ago Cheesy
They are tied to power feeding the front offices and that is backed up by an automatic 50kw NG generator which kept them and a good part of our business running the whole couple days the area was blacked out Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Sweet!  The reason I was asking is because the propane gas is pretty cheap where I'm at and I was once thinking of buying like a 10 kW generator to run some miners to see if it was cheaper to power them up by propane.  I have a pretty big container that holds 300 liters but then someone told me that if I keep that generator at full 10 kW 24/7 then I would probably have to call gas company to come and fill it up every day!  So that made me to change my mind. Lol  Cheesy.  Do you have any approx calculation of how much gas does your generator use per day if let's say you run it to the max 10-13kw?  Thanks!   Wink Smiley
Look up the generators specs. Fuel consumption is one of them. Bigger issue is that backup generators are NOT made to used continuously for what is called Prime Power operation - those have an entirely different build quality and lubrication system.  Prime power gensets are made to run 24x7x365 and are built like tanks.

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming...

I see, thank you for your help!  I will definitely look them up! Smiley
