261  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin value surge past $17,000, Is it Safe to Invest Now? on: December 12, 2017, 12:30:46 PM
looks like it will just move in the 16,400-17,000 range this week and then surge past 17,000 next week. it has been in that conservative range since yesterday, but well, what do I know? It's just Tuesday and it can surge past 17,000 tomorrow .... so it's still okay to buy now
262  Local / Pamilihan / Re: BTC withdrawal fee @ Exchanges on: December 12, 2017, 11:58:55 AM
True. Kaninang tanghali or bandang 1pm na yata, nag transfer ako ng 0.0177 btc mula coinsph to exodus wallet.

263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else feel unsettled about recent price? on: December 09, 2017, 08:53:20 AM
It's just markets being markets. During the 2013 bull cycles we saw supply dry up on the exchanges in a similar fashion. Lack of supply combined with mainstream media hype and a solid 2-year bull market? That's enough reason for a parabolic rally! The general theory with blow-off tops is "the higher it goes, the harder it will fall."

If that happens now, it will surely cripple bitcoin. Nobody will want that, especially that bitcoin is going mainstream....
264  Local / Pamilihan / Re: BTC withdrawal fee @ Exchanges on: December 08, 2017, 10:33:09 AM
marami na rin ang umaalma sa 0.002 btc withdrawal fee na yan sa cryptopia. mas na-emphasize pa nga dahil ganyan na nga kataas ang fee, di pa dumating yung btc or di pa processed or something to that effect ang btc withdrawal nung ibang users. so far, di ko pa naman na-experience ang withdrawal na di na-process agad or hindi dumating. natataasan lang ako sa fee regardless of kung gaano kalaki btc withdrawal ko...
265  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: December 08, 2017, 10:28:19 AM
Pero sobrang hirap magpa verify sakanila for level 3. Super dami nilang arte and may video calling pa and the worst ikaw naka open yung camera mo sila naman naka close.

266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The price is out of control on: December 08, 2017, 10:18:29 AM
did you know that one of the main gateways to the world of bitcoin in my area is having demand issues? i haven't read any official statement from their end yet but based on other users like me, there's not much bitcoin to sell buyers. buyers are willing to buy at any rate, but the problem is that, there's no bitcoin to buy. hodlers using the service are just that - hodling. is it possible that they've run out of btc to sell? so demand is still high.... price will really rise all the more right?
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOA Coin - your travel cryptocurrency on: December 08, 2017, 08:24:15 AM
Yes, TOA's price staying the same in Fiat but going down in BTC makes potential investors think they should better stay with BTC.

It would be better if satoshi value of TOA remained the same or went up, so investors feel an appetite for TOA, otherwise they will feel safer with BTC.

You're absolutely right, Noojna! That's my point! How can toa win investors when all they see is a crashing price? What's happening to toa right now after that expo in the US? Is there anyone in charge of trading and promotions? I assume they have someone handling those two areas? And, I'd also assume that the person/s handling trading understand the dynamics of trading toa against btc and/or other toa trading pairs.... like I said a few posts back,

x snip x

to illustrate altcoin-bitcoin dynamics, let's use toa-btc pair since we're at the toa thread:

my 1m psb was swapped to toa and the toa-btc price at that time was 120 sats to 1 toa and the equivalent of that in my currency was roughly 0.50 centavos. in usd, that's roughly 0.01 usd. since we're not all Filipinos here, let's use the usd equivalent so if 120 sats = 0.01 usd and 120 sats = 1 toa, then:

1. when btc's usd value goes up (as is happening with bitcoin now) and toa's value against btc holds, then the usd value of toa goes up. for example, 1 toa = 120 satoshis = 0.02usd ; the btc-toa pair value didn't change but btc-usd value increased. (i would have gained in terms of usd)

2. when btc's usd value goes down and toa's btc value holds, then toa's usd value goes down. (i would assume that's self explanatory)

3. if the usd value of toa holds while the usd value of btc is rising, then toa's btc value drops. (as is the case right now - it's actually plummeting!!!)

4. if btc's usd value is rising and toa's btc value is rising at the same time, then toa's usd value grows exponentially! (the toa community would be happy and word would spread about toa, and this would actually lure more people to support toa! unfortunately, toa's promotions team and trading team are what....?  Lips sealed )

5. if btc's usd value falls at the same time that toa's btc value falls, then toa's usd value plummets - killing it.

just because btc is pumping, doesn't mean that toa's bitcoin price should go down to the equivalent of fiat currency - 0.50 centavos, right ? what are the devs thinking?
268  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: December 08, 2017, 08:12:12 AM

269  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: December 08, 2017, 05:58:28 AM
i experienced the difficulty of opening the coins.ph wallet app and even their website since yesterday. what happen to them? is this issue is still regarding about the supply of coins.ph?

There's no issues in converting BTC to PHP, But on the PHP to BTC exchange that's where the problem arise since the supply is slim in coins.ph as of this moment.

270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The price is out of control on: December 07, 2017, 04:14:33 PM
i think it's out of control, too. people are anticipating a $20k price so there's panic buying - many from first-time bitcoin buyers. clearly, they're eyeing a quick profit so many are buying now so they won't get left out on the gains  Huh
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOA Coin - your travel cryptocurrency on: December 07, 2017, 03:53:30 PM

Crashing? What are you talking about? The FIAT price is still same for toa and hasnt changed. Only the ratio between btc/toa has changed because of btc rise....

as long as toa is keeping its fiat price at the same level, there is nothing to worry about

then you certainly don't understand trading cryptocurrency.

price is pegged against bitcoin NOT fiat. how did you get hold of your toa? through ICO or through swapping pesobit to toa?

either way, just to inform/educate you, the dev team collected amounts in terms of bitcoin and accordingly issued the number of tokens due to investors. what was the price when you initially received your coins if you were an ICO participant? now, at what price did you buy your PSB - if you swapped to TOA? if you weren't an ICO participant, at what price did you buy TOA in the exchanges that offer toa?

if you're happy with toa just keeping the fiat price fixed at what - less than 0.01 usd? then that means there will be no profit to be gained from buying or selling toa since it will always have the same fiat currency value!

you're losing in terms of bitcoin. you bought toa in terms of bitcoin and don't realize that you're losing?! if you're fine with that, well that's you. don't give others the illusion that they're gaining when in fact, they're losing a lot!

I calculate with fiat because i trade on exchanges and it resembles better what the asset is worth to people. If i compare to what could have been if i kept btc then its speculation and not investing.
If you make a bad decision on speculation then its not job of the toa foundation to match your expectation in my personal opinion.

If btc falls and toa rises in btc value to keep fiat price would you say the toa foundation did exceptional work?

In the end people value assets still to fiat. Might be other case in ico or swaps of course. Then your view might match better but since i bought them on exchange...

awesome  Grin Grin Grin at what price did you get them? congratulations, you're doing great  Roll Eyes
272  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin now slowly drop should i sell? on: December 07, 2017, 02:54:57 PM
although bitcoin is still on a bull run, there will still be a few dips along the way. there's still a lot of good news about bitcoin which has lured new investors into the world of cryptocurrency, so we won't be getting any bearish signals yet.

how would you know when to sell? you can read about bitcoin price movements in the news, price speculation boards and opinion threads like this one  Wink, and charts I guess, to help you decide.... i'm no expert at reading indicators on charts so i rely on the news and oftentimes, instinct  Grin. if you think that you've earned enough anyway, and wouldn't want to risk what you've already gained, then just go along with your gut-feeling and sell away -- as they say in trading, learn to manage your greed so at least you take some profit  Wink
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]PiCoin [POS+POW] [SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN] on: December 07, 2017, 02:25:22 PM
CoinmarketCap is removing Coins which do not have transactions of $10k per day, So i wont be surprised if PICoin gets removed..
List or not, there is no much difference.
I still have some picoin, it is worth several bucks.
I will just keep it for memory.

is this still being traded? so there's still a demand for it at what exchange was this on again? i admire your sentimentality but if there's still demand for picoin, it's best to trade it already to add to your bag of bitcoins or top performing altcoin. just take screenshots for memory lane  Wink

Withdrawal of ETH -3.10057502 never shows up on the block chain.

Where is my ETH!!!

It's been 48 hours!

there are issues with eth and all eth tokens in all exchanges. it's the eth network having problems - not the exchanges....

If really it is caused by the ETH network delay, I can not imagine the reason except CryptKitties for now.

Could you show me any other information's URL?

yup that's the one. all eth and eth tokens are having transaction issues and exchanges are waiting for the eth network backlog to settle...

About this rally, I'm both excited and nervous at the same time! Excited about the news of bitcoin going mainstream, about all the attention its been getting... those that never really gave bitcoin a second look are now buying bitcoin and more shops in my location are beginning to accept bitcoin! what keeps me high-strung is the memory of 2013's crash - which I hope will never happen again.
