261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 06, 2017, 11:32:33 AM
With so much GB added to market I expect price to go down slightly!

I would like to buy cheap bytes too, the problem is that some people linking their BTC finally want to buy more bytes and the price stays high.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 06, 2017, 09:34:38 AM

Hi, Im wondering if i linked my address last month do i have to link it again this month or is it now linked forever?

Also when are blackbytes getting listed on any exchange?  Grin

It's linked for all coming airdrops.

It's not really wishable that Blackbytes were listed on exchanges, they are untraceable because their history stay private between the peers (only the hashes are stored in DAG), if you centralize most transactions in exchanges then it wil be possible for them to trace Blackbytes  transactions.
But technically it's possible (although they would have to code a bot for deposit/wthdraw) and nobody can stop them if they want to do so.

Indeed that's true. Then I will diversify the risk a bit Wink. Am I right, that I do not have to do anything else except linking the addresses and keep the coins in there. After the airdrop the balance will then just increase automatically right?

If you want to receive Blackbytes, you have to link a BTC address (even an empty one) to your Byteball address.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 06, 2017, 05:57:41 AM
BTC linked are increasing fast, above 600K BTC now ! That's very good when you know that 2/3 of Bytes are still left for distribution.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I just did a smart contract in Byteball : mind blow. on: July 05, 2017, 08:00:17 PM
This coin is marvelous, I wonder why there are not many people get into this coin. There are about 6 or 7 distributions left and I will definitely join to earn free byteball aka ggb

There are more than 570000 BTC linked now, people become more and more. And 2/3 of GB still have to be distributed !

Suppose a user has 1 BTC and he signs the byteball address using his bitcoin address to prove the ownership of that address now what if the byteball address he signed is somehow an unsigned bitcoin transaction which gets signed too and so byteball team can withdraw the bitcoins? That's a possibility?
Sorry for being paranoid.Please answer

The Bitcoin wallet has a built-in protection against this attack.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 04, 2017, 10:14:54 AM
Given that Byteball's bots are so cool and the exchange bot is great but it doesn't have much liquidity, why not enhacing it though a collaboration with the upcoming system of liquidity provided by Bancor? Sooner or later I guess all cryptos will adopt Bancor's brand new system to create a reseve which makes the asset liquid agains other currencies, so why not to be one of the first ones? This could help to spread the news about Byteball and increase adoption rate.

Bancor is the biggest bullshit in crypto history: http://hackingdistributed.com/2017/06/19/bancor-is-flawed/
There is nothing more stupid than a liquidity contract whose the algorithm is public.

Any official info about how many airdrops there will be?

It's unpredictable since all the bytes could be distributed at next airdrop if enough BTC are linked.

500000 BTC linked !

I have installed Byteball on my Android device but when I try to communicate with the bot, it never responds. Struck here from 2 days now, no bots reply to anything. Can anyone tell me how it works.?

The transition bot is working. Maybe the app can't access internet ?

I saw someone in Facebook promoting prelaunch of a coin named Dagcoin. He said it is the sister coin of Byteball. Anyone can confirm this? I think it's a hoax and is only using Byteball for hype.

It's an asset released on Byteball, the guy probably just tweaked the wallet to have his asset showed as "DAGcoin". It's not a copycat of Byteball, it's a use case of Byteball.

Anyone can create assets on Byteball easily, look at https://byteball.market/#!/asset/order

i had some gbytes and blackbytes in an address for a couple of months
after sending some test txs i see only 1/5th of my gbytes is in the original linked address

whats the easiest way to consolidate the gballs and blackbytes back to the original linked address from their current addresses
before the next airdrop?

Just send all your money to your address which is linked.

Hi all,
I have a full wallet with byteballs and blackballs in it.
I don't have a 24/7 internet access so I would like to run a lite wallet.
What will happen to my blackballs - if I back up the user folder, will I be able to recover them some time in the future?
thank you.

It seems you cannot convert a full wallet to simple wallet. The easy way is to install a lite wallet on another phone or computer, move your funds on it, erase your full wallet directory, reinstall a lite wallet and move back your funds.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 25, 2017, 11:12:28 AM
So on July 9 0.2 bytes will be distributed for every byte owned.  Is this only for bytes that were distributed via a linked BTC address in the past or can I buy some off the exchange send them to by byteball wallet and then get the 20% on July 9?

is it even working ?
when i press  "chat with the Transition Bot"
nothing happends.

any way to manually input "byteball:A2WMb6JEIrMhxVk+I0gIIW1vmM3ToKoLkNF8TqUV5UvX@byteball.org/bb#0000"
right into wallet app ?

The transition bot is working right now. Say hi and it should answer to you.

Aren't we suppose to use the same seed on different devices? i have this message all the time:could not payement: duplicate definition of adress xyz, bnonserial=false

No you are not supposed to use same seed. Instead you can use a nicely feature called "multidevice wallet" which works perfectly (go "add wallet" -> "multidevice wallet").
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 20, 2017, 05:10:52 PM
OK I'm going to announce it in this thread too.

Today I released the v1.0.0 RELEASE of the Byteball-to-TCP Proxy.

It is really easy to setup and get running. It listens on the Byteball network for new devices that pair with the proxy and for each guest device it spawns a raw TCP connection to the predefined host/port.
You can use this proxy whenever you have a service that accepts raw TCP connections and you want to expose it to Byteball wallets. By default the proxy serves the current time as given by the india.colorado.edu:13 telnet server.

How did you generate the QR code invitation for your bot device ?

Do you think the GBB will be listed on the exchange someday in the future?

Now, with the same situation, the GBB price will be falling.

GBB are to be exchanged P2P so only you and your peer know about your trade (only the transaction hash is stored in DAG). If you centralize the GBB market in an exchange then your GBB are not really privates anymore.

Fair Initial Distribution???
I found this offer for free byteball crypto's (i.e. Blackbytes) suspect. I wondered how the price for this crypto could be around the $700 mark, when there are other crypto's with just as good, if not better, technology behind this. I wondered if the input of sending your bitcoins for Blackbytes was just pumping up the price?

I'm here even more concerned in that for sending around $3.50 USD worth of my Bitcoins, plus the $1.50 mining fee, that I got a message back saying that they are seeing that I own Zero bitcoins, which means no free Blackbytes for me and I've just lost $5+ USD. This then offers a web page to look at the reason why it is showing zero bitcoins, of which helps little. I've got 2 bitcoins in my wallet, not zero bitcoins. There is no message for to help you otherwise and this lends to the potential further loss of leading to getting you to have another attempt - no thanks.  I've sent an email requesting help on this, but to date have not gotten a reply. As far as I'm concerned this marketing ploy is a pump on the price of this crypto and I've been ripped off i.e. this is a scam. I'd be interested to hear from others regarding if they have had the same thing happen to them?

Man, you shouldn't put your money into things you totally don't understand.

How can I exchange my blackbytes for bytes? Is there a way?

Look for a buyer in trading Slack channel and use a smart-contract to deal with him.

you admitted in your entering sentence that you are a communist. you have just answered your concerns regarding "fair" distribution. it appears that fairness is a subjective term especially if there is an anarchocapitalist on the one side and a statist communist on the other side of the argument.

those few moguls you are referring to are successful and smart people who took the enormous risk when BTC was cheap. they should be rewarded for their risk respectively. but you, on the other hand, have a statist way of thinking where the state would take their share of everyone's profits without taking any risk (taxes). so in your fantasy land people should be rewarded for having taken zero risk, right? yep, communist statist detected.

please don't turn into a violent hypocrite who puts on a mask and then sneakily hits people with a bike lock for having a different opinion while being employed as an ethics professor in a university.

By the way anybody is free to fork Byteball and launch CommunistBall if he wants, it would be very ironic since communists have no ballz  Wink
