I've heard that Newcastle are preparing to make two big transfers now.

James Maddison and Youri Tielemans both are under their radar at the moment. As Leicester are having a terrible season and under the threat of relegation, Newcastle must be thinking that it would be easier for them to convince them. However I'm pretty confident that there would be some bigger teams to try to sign them as well.

For example, Manchester United have been monitoring Tielemans' condition for a while. His contract is ending next summer so they have a big chance to sign him for free. A very talented midfielder like Maddison would also be under the radar of a big team shortly. This would be a huge weakening for Leicester in the attacking line but they can't do anything about this I'm afraid.

If Leicester City should lose both Maddison and Tielemans in the January transfer window, I'll probably bet on them to not avoid relegation come the end of the season, Maddison specifically have been on of their best player, Tielemans might not have been the most consistent though but he's still going to be a huge blow to lose him. I really can't see Leicester allowing both players to leave, not during the extreme struggle they facing right now, but you can expect the performance at the world cup too to trigger a whole lot of prospective transfers.

It's probably first time in very long time when I don't know what to think about upcoming Bayern game. Their performance before international break with 4 games in a row without a win leaves some doubts. On the other hand, now there was international break and we don't know how it affected teams and in what condition players had returned. And their opponents Bayer also looks disappointing so far.

The only thing that comes to mind is loads of goals tbh, but if they've had 20 shots on target in a game already this season while scoring just a goal then you might still have to think twice about every betting decision, after all their performances so far this season what I'm still yet to figure out is how they were able to beat Barcelona, I get that they weren't even the better team in that fixture, but were rather able to make the most out of their chances. It was rather just surprising to say the least.
2603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 29, 2022, 09:59:09 PM
BTTTS looks like a value bet @1.40 but games after the international break are always unpredictable, I'm sticking with Arsenal @2.20 for the weekend as my value bet.
What is BTTTS? If you mean both to score than the odds are not correct. I did not check them before but now that you wrote 1.4  I was thinking that cannot be right. Both to score on Manchester derby has odds over 1.7 on most bookies. That is acceptable, I would never play it for just 1.4.

Don't trust Arsenal against Spurs with Son back in form. Both to score for me as well.

I personally would trust both teams to score in the Manchester Derby to be honest, It could all end up being a one sided affair or a bore fest, and for the fact that my bias would be on the side of Man City, I still couldn't justify the ML odds at ~ 1.38 for Man City, so that fixture's only value to me is to spectate.

London Derby is actually of a much more interest to me, and both teams to score and Over 2.5 goals here would be highly probable from my perspective, Arsenal still have lots of work to do defensively and Tottenham counter attacking football could be of real damage to Arsenal should Arsenal concede the first goal of the game. It's tough to pick a side though, but Arsenal would be my call here I'm to pick one.
2604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽️ Betnomi.com ⚽️ Bundesliga Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: September 29, 2022, 06:56:35 PM
i just want to remember the friday evening match bayern munich - bor. mönchengladbach some weeks ago. everyone here wrote that bayern would win at home and even the experts were sure that fcb would get the 3 points...
and how did the game end...? bayern completely dominant over the entire 90 minutes and still lost the game. what i want to say is that tomorrow everything is possible and the game must first be played... Wink

I believe that international break probably came at the best time for Bayern Munich to get themselves together, Just a single win in their last 5 matches is disastrous f you consider how dominant they tend to be in the early stages of the league, but now they're just getting nothing but the highest possession of the ball, in games where they usually win with ease.

Just like I expect a lot of other people to, I likely will still expect Bayern Munich to win or draw this game, but anything less than a win is just another failure for them though, aren't Bayer Leverkusen also getting bad results week in week out ? so unlike against Union Berlin that are actually having a great start to their season so far, I don't expect too much from Leverkusen, It could only just be an high-scoring encounter.
2605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 29, 2022, 05:48:47 PM
You're right about that. Picking young talented player is far better rather than bringing an old player to the munich. Sadio mane needs more time to adapt with bayern. It seems like bayern must use its available resource for now to compete with another team in the bundesliga.
I know how hard bayern without pure striker that can act like lewandoski but the season is always still running no matter what happened with club

Yes that's right, it's too late for Bayern Munich to glance at CR7. like it or not, Nagelsmann must maximize the performance of his squad with existing resources. especially placing Sadio Mane in a position he likes to maximize his performance.

this situation is clearly not favorable for Bayern, they are experiencing a downward trend in the Bundesliga and will likely have an impact on matches in the champions league.
As for the pure strikers they need going forward, in my opinion, there are a lot of young players who should be given a chance instead of bringing Ronaldo to the Allianz Arena.

Ronaldo is not a good solution to close the space in the Bayern Munich squad, it is better for Munich to give young players the opportunity to get higher flying hours than having to spend money on players who are 37 years old. Bayern Munich has not found an ideal replacement to replace the position left by Lewandowski, thus making their goal tally decline and resulting in several points dropping in the Bundesliga.
Nagelsmann should not panic with the current condition of the Bayern Munich squad, there are still many options that can be done than having to sign Ronaldo from Manchester United.

Any team that chooses to sign Ronaldo right is actually being shortsighted and isn't looking to solve a long term problem, there were already discussions about the post-Lewandowski era, and the last way or the most ridiculous way to solve that problem is by going for Ronaldo, simply because Ronaldo doesn't another 3-4 for years of top performance in him, if we are trying to face the factual reality, they should be looking for prospective replacement that are rather relatively young, and still have some 8years to a decade of future ahead of them, not someone bound to probably quit after a couple of years more, there are very young centre forwards out there that'd give everything up to play for Bayern Munich.

new round is here, put your picks guys

Inter and Rome is probably most interesting match, but Torino could be a hard nut to track for Napoli as well

Udinese is playing on a side, looking to stretch their winning strike, will put a small bet on them to continue, nice to see them within CL spots

Torino might be a hard fixture for Napoli no doubt, especially Napoli getting plagued with injury and all, they have at least 5 players out already, If it were to be another team, I would have gone for both teams to score, but Torino have been fairly awful too.

Inter vs Roma would be order of the day, I expect the tensions to be flying high, but Inter would emerge winner, I think.

AC Milan are also missing out on an awful lot of players too, so the trip to Empoli might not be an easy one either. It's all on hand on deck!

Finally, we have a date.

Chiesa and Pogba should be able to play by the end of Octorber.
It will be a huge improvement if they can play with the boys.

That's a very good news for not Juventus alone but France national team as well, without any further set backs, Paul Pogba would have great chance get back to his match fitness and rhythm just when it's really much needed for Juventus, and because they're in an awful form, maybe Pogba could even get to play the last two Juventus matches in the UEFA champions league where their chnaces of qualifying for the next round is actually getting slimmer, for Pogba having been out for while there is also enough time for him get back to his usual high standards and likely make the French national team for the FIFA World Cup.

*RESERVED FOR SPECIAL ANNOUCEMENT*
(Updated)

Hi All,

Many thanks for the comments and predictions!

Unfortunately, this announcement is not the usual sort of fun one, but more of an update on the UK government rulings that have meant a massive change in imagery rights for sports betting companies working with EPL teams..

We all know that the UK government has been reviewing the sports betting sponsorship on UK sporting teams for some time, and we have not been sure which way that was to go. Everything from leaving it, to completely removing it has been on the cards now for some time.

Official Release: (brief summary)

Committee for Advertising Practice (CAP) has announced today the introduction of tough new rules for gambling ads as part of our commitment to safeguarding young people and vulnerable audiences.
“be likely to be of strong appeal to children or young persons, especially by reflecting or being associated with youth culture.”

In practice, this will significantly restrict the imagery and references that gambling ads will be allowed to use and should decrease the potential for gambling ads to attract the attention of under-18 in audience.
For example, ads will not be able to use:
* Top flight footballers and footballers with a considerable following among under-18 on social media.

What does this mean for us and Bitcointalk?
We just can't use Southampton or Arsenal pics anymore. No players, No Emblems, No pics of Stadiums.. probably best to steer away from anything EPL graphic related for now TBH..

I wanted to do this as a joint post in our main thread here as we have such a great bunch of like-minded customers, users, fans, and decent blokes, who love doing independent promo threads (games and rounds!) to have fun, interact and generally have fun!

All of us at Sportsbet.io want those threads to continue!   Cool Cool

So please keep running with them, please keep hassling me on PM/DM on thoughts and suggestions for new threads!

I just need to be a bit careful on the Southampton & Arsenal graphics stuff we use moving forward.... nothing stressful, just something to keep in mind!

regards,

Steve.
Sportsbet.io

Updated Lads,

I just needed to check with the partnerships team if it meant we had to retrospectively remove old graphics.. it seems not to be the case.. but we start a new slate from now!

cheers all again for the support, very appreciated!
Steve.

Overview of the rulings here
https://www.asa.org.uk/news/tough-new-rules-to-curb-broad-appeal-of-gambling-ads-and-better-protect-under-18s.html

That's a tough one indeed for Sportbets and Bitcoin too given the exposure has actually gotten from these ads, but I'm however having a couple of concern, form my belief I suppose the UK version of the website and the general one already have some signifcance differences ? maybe in terms of M.O, TOS, Policies and whatnot ? If yes does the general website also have to subjected to these terms ?

Secondly, what would be its effect on the current shirts sponsorship deals with Southampton, as well as the official betting platform partnership deal with Arsenal, having it's logo portrayed on Arsenal's Emirate stadium, will all these advertisements also get affected ?

And since Bitcointalk is an independent forum, I don't understand how the rules should affect your ads here with the use of the teams, if the .io website isn't a business under the UK jurisidiction.

for example, such a game as Sevilla - Atlético, in my opinion, deserves attention.
Will anyone bet on this game? At the moment I see an extraordinarily generous chance at BTTS 1.95. It seems to me that both teams are productive enough and at the same time bad enough to both score and concede a goal in this match  Grin

it does sound as good odds, but with Sevilla and Atletico, you never know, and this could end up with one goal win by any side (1:0, 0:1)
and it is after international break, when it is always questionable how teams are going to pick up first match

low odds, but Athletic should be a good pick on Friday, their best La Liga start in long time, and Almeria will have harsh fight to avoid relegation

I fully agree with Atletico Madrid vs Sevilla, you just might never know with them, It could end up being goalless for all we know. However, I'm not sure what Sevilla might have in store due to how penetrable Atletico Madrid defense have been this season, they've conceded at least a goal in all last 5 matches in the league, although It can be agreed that all of those fixtures are actually against credible oponents, so both teams to score would be my call.

Athletic Bilbao vs Almeria, looks likely to be an easy win for Bilbao, but maybe not with some many goals, I could consider Under 3.5 or Under 2.5 depends on the or settle for a Bilbao win @ 1.45 ~issh

Rashford is still under question on the platform, but as per news, he is good to play in City derby, do anyone has through information about this?

Mitrovic scored four goals for Serbia during international break, still thinking about him being replaced, but he keeps delivering
looking forward to London derby, will be a good one to watch, maybe even better than Manchester derby

Rashford and a couple of other players will remain as questionable on the FPL website, probably until a few hours before next deadline, or the start of the game day, so if you not sure about a player and you can afford it to use a transfer then, you should consider your position, I personally think Rashford should be already fit enough to start the game, but that'd still be down to what Ten Haag decides even if indeed fit enough to start the game. I've not looked into the portal just, until later tomorrow, before I start further decision making.

That is exactly what happened, Portugal came with draw mindset, they knew that draw will qualify them for the next round and they were clued to the worse case scenario draw mentality. Portugal actually played better than Spain and had alot of good chances. Ronaldo's sharpness has reduced, no one can cheat nature. I don't know if Portugal will sti rely on him for this world Cup outing.
While Messi dropped in performance the previous year when he moved to PSG, CR7 remained fine then dropped badly this season although staying with the same team..
I don't expect much from him and from Portugal in Qatar. I mean they can pass groups stage since their opponents aren't top but they will not continue further.

The actual truth is that no one stays in form when they're not playing very often, even as Messi and Ronaldo have been phenomenal over the past decade, they're also bound to lose consistency with time and age catching up on them, especially when they not playing always, Ronaldo seemed to going to through what Messi similarly encountered last season after a new move and being injury plagued for a while, which is lost of confidence, Ronaldo clearly seemed to have lost a bit of his magical touch and confidence, I think the best way to get better now is not to be solely focused on goals he just should try well enough to impact the game in other aspects, like contributing to goals and general game plays while he goes through the phase, I'm pretty sure he'll get past this too.

Congrats to all the winners!

and a a big congratulations to @Ulven, managed to win the last two yellow caps of the pool  Shocked  totally deserves that first place

looking forward to the next pool

That was pretty stunning and duly well deserved too, I never even really check my picks for the remainder of the games, now I understand how people when you drop all the momentum very early in the pool, and it's practically impossible to play catch up except you're going literally against every expected pick with the hope it hits.

At least the bore-fest is finally and in 3 days, we'll be talking about club side football yet again 😊 and my heart goes out to the teams with a couple of players picking a knock or an injury over the period.

EDIT: I guess I was rather too hasty with my post, it's 3-3 now!
hell of a game! Not the best result but at least it'll boost the morale of England NT and the fans,, Sure the team failed to put an end to the winless streak, but at least they were able to find the net, they showed some good bits of exciting football and there's some hope that this team can improve.

Another point from the game for me was the fact that Maguire managed to get into the headlines as well as almost every other goal scorer or those that impacted the game, positively. There were so many talks about him and several post advising him to try out other sport, perhaps golfing or UFC  Grin

Today I am putting extra big bet on England - Germany both to score. This game means nothing to either of them, England is relegated and Germany can't win the group. But England must show something to improve the mood before World Cup while Germany would be happy to add few more nails to their coffin.

Really need one win in this competition to offset all the loses   Roll Eyes stll can't belive Belgium or France didn't score yesterday.

You must have felt so happy when England finally scored. After not getting a single field goal from the entire tournament they managed to get 3, but also, they let in 3. Both teams probably spoke to each other and agreed they should score many goals to make sure their bosses stayed in their jobs lol.

BTTS dangerous in Nations League.
It is very dangerous in national football to play both to score but that is why we have better odds. For instance I was quite sure this game will have at least 4 goals, even went for 2:2 in the pool and odds were 1.88. Great value and finally it passed. I was also sure France would not lose day before and I expected more goals from some other teams.

That is why I ended up so deep in red. This bet is enough to bring me close to zero, so skipping betting on this competition and waiting for club football to resume.

You can most likely rest assured that Portugal vs Spain will be a both teams to score yes as both teams will play normally and will not underestimate this game, against Switzerland Spain completely underestimated the game and they played extremely poorly, they just kept ball possession but every other dangerous stat was in favor of Switzerland which won the game.

Also I expect a both teams to score yes in Switzerland vs Czech Republic game and of course a Switzerland win after seeing their great game play against Spain.

It's looking likely to be goalless between Spain, with barely 8 minutes left to play, Spain have been better side 2nd half, despite Portugal's commendable performance in the first 45 minutes.

And here comes another drama unfolding, Germany looking likely to steal the win with a 2 goals lead early enough into the second half, but what could be worse than Germany giving it all up within just 10 minutes, now England have all the advantage to finally get their first win of the tournament. Crazy game!

At least you won your bet!

EDIT: I guess I was rather too hasty with my post, it's 3-3 now!

We've barely witness goals for majority of this nations league, but today goals seems to flying all over, I feel bad enough for Hungary, I really wish they'd secure that top spot, kudos to Italy.
2618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 26, 2022, 06:14:18 PM
I read the news about Harry Kane rumors, but Bayern Munich has been in contact with Harry Kane's camp but not with Tottenham Hotspur, does this mean that Bayern Munich is serious about signing Harry Kane? about how much the price is still not explained but it seems Bayern Munich is trying to convince the Spurs player, even in the article there is a statement from Bayern Munich to Harry Kane not to renew his contract with Spurs.
But I don't think this will happen in the winter window because Harry Kane said he didn't want to rush things.

Source. https://www.sbnation.com/bayern-munich-transfer-news-rumors

Bayern Munich are desperately trying to make their striker signing at the earliest opportunity but it's quite late for this season I'm afraid. Because they should have done this pre-season to be fully ready. They were just too stubborn about not going for any player and denied all the rumours linking them with Harry Kane.

There is no way they are signing Kane in January. They'd better forget about it and make their plans according to that. Whatever amount they offer I don't think Tottenham would be okay about selling him in the middle of the season. It'd be a huge problem for them while they are doing this much wonderful in the EPL.

Signing Mane wasn't a bad idea, but I agree that they needed a more typical replacement for Lewandowski, and Serge Gnabry is not that guy, with Kane renewal at Tottenham, Bayern Munich would need to break more than just the bank in order to sign him, there's no chance that Tottenham would let him go.
2619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UEFA Nations League 2020/2021 Discussion Thread on: September 26, 2022, 12:41:11 PM
England has only scored one goal and conceded 7 and therefore they are already relegated to the league B,so I don't expect anything good from them during tonight game against Germany,Germany no matter what result it get it is still remaining here in league A and not getting promoted so this game is totally unpredictable.

Italy needs absolutely the win tonight which I think they will get as that would qualify them further in the play offs phase,it will not be easy as Hungary may play for the draw which would get them in the play offs however I didn't see any good performance by them in the match against Germany.

I believe no one could have predicted that Hungary would be in the position they are now at the begin of tournament, after being drawn against England, Italy and Germany, they were automatically considered bottom of table dweller, but here we are now, they only loss they've succumb to so far in the tournament is to Italy, but I believe that for what it's worth, a draw for them tonight is considerably possible and if that's what are they are set out to get, then they will get the job done.

No big team really played on top level on Nation League this year just because of World Cup and in order to prevent important players from getting injured they chose to manage some players or play them a fewer minutes than usual. Nationes League is not so attractive and it's understandable but for some low classified teams , this is a chance to catch last spots for Euro so yea...another factor of why we see surprises in results. Smiley
+1

That's why you might get a great odds betting against big teams as things might be complicated as well as the  loss of france to denmark earlier today , despite france play with the full power ... full squad , they are taking the match no too seriously but a warming up.

On the contrary, we saw many of the big team struggled during the qualifiers too, so it's not just because of the world cup they're playing really terribly, all these players are all going back to their respective club sides and have around 10+ games to play before the world cup gets underway, if they're having injury scare for just two fixtures now, how will they go about the over 10 matches to be played for their club sides ? and some of them have not even secured a seat in the world cup squad, so this is the time you'd expect them to want to impress their coaches to deserve a spot in their respective squad lists for the tournament, So, I really don't buy the idea of the big teams not playing to their beat strengths.
