.../Any news from ... and baseball questions?/....::::....::::

What a crap this, Yes!! Netherlands "plays" a bit baseball, but defeat Cuba it is as if England lost against Malta, football.  Cheesy

Anyway, Netherlands have always had a great level in amateur baseball and they also beat Panama, another country with professional baseball leagues and outstanding players in the MLB, for example, Mariano Rivera.

can someone translate this into a football context?  Grin Bro, save me all the time and let me know the outcomes and how many victories there have been in the games so far!
I expect them to win at least three games. There will be a total of 7 games between the 3 nations. This is a tie-breaker question for me.

Only one game have been played so far, and one of the 3 teams won, so 6 games to go, so those who went with to lose all games have already missed the question, the first games was between China and Czech Republic, which the latter won 5-8, there are to more fixture schedule for today and the remaining 4 is scheduled for Sunday.

Incase you'd like follow either of it, ESPN or ESPN2 on DSTV does broadcast them, but I doubt either of today's fixture would be a priority for them though given the high number of events holding today.

I think Phoenix is still the team to beat though if KD can stay healthy.  Crazy how injuries have become such a major role in today's NBA.

It makes me wonder why some franchise still settle for old veterans who are more prone to injures for potential players with more than 4-5 years experience in the league with great shape and very healthy, If KD comes back at some point in the regular season, I really don't know how much the Suns can rely on him to remain healthy for the post season, but guys Mikael Bridges and Cameron Johnson are no where near KD, but the big question mark is if he's healthy, meanwhile Bridges and Cam Johnson have been significant for Nets since they joined, the results might not have looked great but these are guys that you can build the future of a franchise around, I wonder what would have been of the warriors in the past decade without Steph and Klay to build a team pieces around.

No nationally televised games tonight, but there are a couple of lopsided match ups that might be worth betting on for a small win. The 76ers should be able to beat the trailblazers, and the nuggets should be able to beat the spurs no problem. Neither of those bets should pay much but they’re pretty safe bets. Might be good to combine some parlays.

Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers is going to be televised on ESPN here, and that would have been my game of interest except for the fact that Miami Heat players doesn't really interest me these days.

Darius Garland would be unavailable for the match as far as I can tell, but then I would still fancy my chances with Cavaliers ML @ 2.1 Odds

Timberwolves should be an easy win vs the very shorthanded Brooklyn Nets right ? That should be an easy call for me as well, unless there are certain development within the next 3-4 hours.

battle on top is better, dough, Dortmund and Bayern are on top of their form, and I am taking Dortmund to win title outright
Dortmund is having by far higher odds but I don't believe Dortmund will make it finally. It would be very nice for Dortmund but Bayern is too hard to beat...
For the last years, Bayern has been very strong for the last 10-15 games and enlarged their lead against whoever has been placed 2nd. I wouldn't say it's a safe bet to see Bayern will win Bundesliga but it's extremely likely.
Only Dortmund is really left to challenge Bayern and in Champions League, BVB's Julian Brandt got injured. It's not sure how long he'll be missing but he's an important part of Dortmund's offensive. After Adeyemi is already injured, Dortmund is losing 2 key players from what made Dortmund so successful in January / February. When Brandt went off injured against Chelsea, it was very obvious Dortmund isn't as strong as in previous games. And finally, Dortmund lost as well against Chelsea, breaking Dortmund's impressive current win streak...

I'd have to agree with 1miau on this one, because Dortmund despite having a good run of form in the league, I still don't see them winning the league ahead of Bayern Munich this season, the latter might have had their ups and downs this season, but Dortmund cannot be relied upon imo either, Bayern Munich have gotten their player back after being injury plagued for a couple of months.

Dortmund are currently going to be more focused on the league alone after getting knocked out of the Champions League by Chelsea, but I still believe that doesn't seem like an added advantage for them from my own perspective, I'd even offer 2:1 bet against anybody willing to back Dortmund to finish ahead of Bayern Munich.

Liverpool, losing the first leg convincingly, against a Spanish club, and needing to overcome impossible odds? I've heard this before, right? Alright, I don't expect it to happen again, but we've quite regularly gone behind quite convincingly, and then managed to crawl right back into it. Dortmund with the Lovern header, Barcelona with the quick corner, and obviously Istanbul if you want to go that far back. So, I definitely don't doubt we're capable of it. I just think Real Madrid will know this, and they know how to manage Champions League games to make sure they progress.

Real Madrid would know that Liverpool are capable of staging a comeback but would that reduce the chances of it happening, I don't think so because Barcelona after losing to Roma from a comeback still did the same against Liverpool, while being quite aware, I think being very aware of the posibility of a comeback more now that the away goal rule doesn't stand makes it even easier, because all that Liverpool needs is a goal within the first 20 minutes, and I'd expect that to disrupt the balance of Real Madrid team and shift the whole momentum in favor of Liverpool which is a recipe for disaster (comeback) Imo, but I could be entirely wrong too, as we've seen gone point blank after winning 9-0 about a week before.

The grizzlies are getting off to a pretty good start against the Warriors. I don’t think they’ll be able to maintain the lead the entire game because they’ve been shooting a crazy high percentage, so I think for the live bettors out there this might be an opportunity to get some pretty good odds on the Warriors ending up winning the game.

The Warriors have come back within sight before I could get the chances, I really don't understand how the warriors lost the 1st quarter by 20 points, they cut it to 4 at some point in the second, but it's back to a 9 points lead for the Memphis Grizzlies, I think Steve Kerr is really messing with his team roster a lot and trying out different things from Looney having limited time on the court to playing Draymond often has the only big guy on the court, while the other 4 players on the court can be terrific scorers, should they be able to get it right defensively with this lineup, it's going to be a very decent team to beat.

EDIT: Warriors from being down 4, have went back to being down to a 18 point deficit at halftime, but then is it what risking the ML on Warriors @ 4.57

Messed up big time on Arsenal lineup when I forget about Nelson and did not take into account GK rotation.

Did you at least have a parlay on the four teams for the Europa League question in no 5, or does anybody else have a parlay on them ? I planned on having a parlay on them to edge my pick in the spreadsheet, but I took one nap too long and my opponent having the same pick as me also influenced me not having the parlay early enough, that's some 5+ Odds being shoved down our throat and but we chose to regurgitate and then spit it out, huh ??

Props specifically to whoever's idea those teams selection was, and to the very few players that opted for yes too...

Finally, I think I have a better edge for this round over my opponent, we only have two questions with different answers left and if he gets both right, It should be tie, that's if I'm not mistaken with my calculations.
1708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 09, 2023, 04:22:59 AM
^^ Best of luck on that wonderful parlay.

Last night though my parlay was destroyed when the Knicks lost their game as they are a huge favorite against the Hornets.  Sad.

But for tonight, I will do another parlay as well with Nuggets -6.5 + Hawks -1.5 + Dallas ML at 4.98.

A quite crazy night for bettors, only Atlanta Hawks were able to cover the -1.5 spread, Dallas Mavericks lost the game to Pelicans although, Luka Doncic had to exit the game midway with what seemed like a thigh injury, I hope it doesn't he's not out for too long because the Dallas Mavericks needs every help they can get right now.

in Denver it was very close bucket for bucket game, until about midway into the 3rd Quarter, in-form Zach Lavine and Nikola Vucevic were highly instrumental for the Chicago Bull winning the game as +7 points underdog.

That moment when Ramos was most dangerous player on PSG attack. Who saw Messsi today, especially in the 2nd half? Mbappe also had poor game. Well deserved Bayern win.

Messi was still quite visible in the 2nd half with some defensive tackles and whatnot, but I don't think Mbappe touched the ball up to 5 times in the second half, most of his pick out passes came from Messi, and the midfield was stable and cohesive enough to make Messi get into the type of spaces he needs to thrive, all the passes to him were telegraphed and he almost instantaneously pass it back to create another space or make runs into the final third, but the Bayern Munich midfield deserves a lot of credits for the staying compact, they chose not to completely dominate the game, but close down almost every available space for PSG to operate in.

Hi fellas! For a long time tomahawk9 hasn't been active on the forum. And I realized today that they didn't make any prediction in the CL pool despite doing good there. Is there anyone who knows about their condition? I hope they don't have any problem.
Hope he is well. I am not ready to hear another news that will shake the heart again. Tomahawk9 give us a shout brother.

I sure do hope and wish all is well with him too, he's not been making any picks whatsoever in all the pool he's participating in, his result have either being from pre-entered ones, or just default result as SuperBRU gives out a couple of those per pool.

No goal yet in both match. I am expecting a few goals in Bayern vs PSG though. In the other match I have draw (I don't go for it always LOL) so even with no scoring, I will be happy.

A 2 Nil win for Bayern Munich, I would say the better team won, Sergio Ramos came close a couple of times with some brilliant headers, but they weren't just meant to be, right ?

AC Milan vs Tottenham have also just ended as well, it was a goalless draw so, AC Milan get another opportunity to advance further, while it's the same old story for Tottenham and Paris Saint German fans.

Sorry for the delay, I posted my answers last night but I was late for the first two or three.
I don't think you have managed to send answers, hurry up and do it now. I guess you did not click on submit, or closed the window before it sent the data. What happens if you click now on questions? I bet they are still open for you.

At least I don't see you in a table, but cryptofrka is our spreadsheet wizard so he will take a look when he gets home as well.

I think I have an observation to UCL and/or Europa League question, for the 2nd leg, all the games have a chance going extra time fortunately none have so far, the PSG question for instance, just like during the FIFA World Cup edition, you might need to be explicit if the questions counts for only regular time or a possible 120 minutes, I'm sure this a rare omission from for you guys.

________________________

Just 14 minutes plus added time left for PSG to find a miraculous comeback, very unlikely though, but the question could still go either way, a Messi assist for Mbappe or vice versa could still have a major impact on how the spreadsheet ends up graded, only 2 players went for Neither of them to have a goal or assist, strange though.
1712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 08, 2023, 04:19:33 AM
Mikal Bridges has been fantastic for the Nets since joining them. He was instrumental in their comeback win over the Celtics last week, had a near 50-point game against Miami not long ago, and is averaging close to 30 points per game /L7. He is up against a Rockets team that ranks near the bottom in almost every major defensive category in the league. It's a good spot for him and Cam Johnson.

Congrats!

Cameron Johnson was my achilles heel for the several props I had tonight, I either had him to get 12+ points or PRA 20+, and the light skinned dude had just 2 fields goals from 9, both were 3s and 2/4 from the free throw line, My major concern was how he played the least minutes of all Brooklyn Nets starters despite having just one personal foul for the entirety of the just 24 minutes he gets to played and there was no information about him picking up a knock or being injured.

Not seeing my name in the spreadsheet made me panic a bit but thanks for hiding our answers while waiting for our opposition.  Cheesy

Iirc my score should be 1-1 atm as I remember picking Dortmund to advance and i'm 50% sure I picked 2-3 SOTs for the Brugge question.

I could have sworn that I have a 1-0 over my opponent because I checked after the match had ended after about 5 minutes, and it was still recorded as a single shot on goal for Club Brugge, but I had to check again after reading your comment to find it's actually 2 shots on goal,  I'm still trying to find the second shot that was counted as on target, because even before their goal, they had zero shots on target, I want to believe to they reviewed every shot later on to decide which should be awarded as on target or not.
1714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 07, 2023, 05:14:29 AM
Funny that Giannis gave himself a rebound at the end of the Bucks game for a triple double.

The league rescinded the final rebound Giannis gave himself yesterday effectively taking away his triple double.  AI can't remember seeing this happen before in the NBA but it seems like the right thing to do.  I didn't see anything about rescinding the missed shot though.  Cheesy Probably a good thing for Giannis anyway as it might save him from some criticism for being a stat padder.  Say what you want about Westbrook or Jokic but I don't think this has ever happened to either of them.

Maybe not Jokic but I can't say the same for Westbrook brook not being stat padder, I'm glad NBA reviewed it and deprived him of the triple double, since it wasn't a shot attempt but an obvious throw towards the backboard, I've never seen anything like before, except the usual lob at the backboard for a dunk, I guess it's very easy to assume getting the triple double was his intention, but If the had been on a triple double already did that, I supposed the narrative the narrative would have been different.

Celtics scored threes with incredible percentage in first half and played a great defense in last period. Even without Tatum they were very productive. Brogdon made an extra contribution. But they blew the lead in last 24 seconds. They had another chance to win the game but Williams shot 0/2 free throws and Cavs got a miraculous win in overtime. It's funny that these two teams' three games went to overtime this season. Cavs won all three of them. It was like a preview of a possible Eastern semis. That would be a damn good series if happens.

Just about 4 days ago, the Boston Celtics that we know to be a very defensively compact team blew a 28 points lead against the Brooklyn Nets, just 48 hours later the blew another 14 point lead over the NY Knicks and today it's a different day but the same story blowing up a 15 point advantage, I really don't know what excuse can be made for them for these 3 consecutive losses, and my strongest opinion is that Marcus Smart is one of the biggest issue, he's barely impactful on the defense, and almost useless in offense, this is surely something to be worried about for the Coach with the post season fast approaching.

Could we please have the choice to edit picks? Neymar and Mbappe, for instance, are doubtful for the game against Bayern on Wednesday. It is plainly mentioned on the sheet that Messi and Neymar would play, therefore my question is: what happened? If Neymar is not available? Does everyone get an extra point for it?

Firstly, I think the essence of the time frame is to do your findings and/or make your guesses, it makes no difference being able to edit answers, imo, you can wait for very close to the deadline when you've gathered more information as you possibly can before submitting your answers, google already saves your progress with every input made.

Secondly, Just so you know, Neymar is definitely out of the clash, and this has been stated already by many media outlets, and moreover the question doesn't involve Neymar, it only reiterates him being out, it states thus;

"With Neymar out of the team and a 1-0 goal deficit, Messi and Mbappe need to step up for PSG in their game against Bayern. How will they play?
"
  • both of them to record a goal or an assist
  • 1 of them to record a goal or an assist
  • neither of them to record a goal or an assist

Cro2 team, my apologies if posting this violates any terms of the contest.

Yey, another win for me. 2 wins in 3 rounds against strong opponents is better start than I expected. Already looking at next round questions. Honestly, it's first time when I hear World Baseball Classic. I thought that only big thing in baseball is MLB.

At least I'm glad that my opponent for the next round also doesn't know about the World Baseball Classic, if not I'd have been alone on that. Another round, another tough fixture for me, I think, the questions look similar to that of the just concluded round too, when are we going to get some NBA questions ?  Cheesy Cheesy

As for Ja Morant, wrong set of friends, yeah he could be under pressure of the limelight but this is not the way to do it buddy.

You are destroying yourself, flashing guns. He really need help, specially from his families.
That's not good for him, as he has lots of major sponsorships that gave him a lot of money. If he can't change his life, then I think his career with the NBA will be short. As a superstar, he has a big responsibility, which is to be a role model, and his actions have shown that he is not living up to that responsibility.
He's still a kid himself. He might be under the mentality that he made some money, screw everyone else. I hope he isn't because he really is a superstar player. Super exciting on the court and the grizzly fans would be losing one hell of a player.

The fame seem to getting to his head, I understand he's said to have a great work ethic and it is somewhat evident on the pitch with the way he react to losses especially when he's one of the reason they lost a game, but he's spending as much time as he spends practicing on social media and always often attracting the wrong attention to himself, he does a lot of trash talking, barely few minutes after any game, the next thing he does is to take it straight to twitter, but he's not done much that should make him think he's the next Kyrie Irving or Kevin Durant, players who have proved themselves for several years, it will be such a waste to throw away his beautiful career before it get started with these petty and stupid antics.

I just saw on ESPN that he's already deactivated both his Twitter and Instagram account, He's the face of a franchise and I think that might just be taking it way too far, he should instead have handled by a professional social media team, that can portray him as getting better and working towards redemption of his image, but if it's just a temporary break, then that's fine.

Jeremypwr handing me my first L, so no player with 100% record in the division shows that the participant were selected intentionally by their prowess in the game, it's very competitive I'm not gonna lie.

I have a suggestion, I don't know if it makes sense though, but I'd suggest that since it's usually a H2H contest, that those questions with for example, like that of Man Utd vs Liverpool today for Over 2.5 and total number cards should also count the H2H duel if someone gets either of the question right, but shouldn't count towards the freebet points.
