It appears you are not separating the concept and the market. You can try to consider the medium like how I am trying to. It is a new medium for artists where the can monetize their works through the cryptospace. This will make NFTs the gateway to bitcoin and the whole cryptospace.

Also, of course they are only expectations because everything is still very new. However, should we always say something that is not bitcoin as always a failure?

There is nothing wrong with unlocking liquidity from property someone owns. It is the same as a person who borrows against a Picasso, a Banksy or his house. The choice is his if he wants to borrow against his NFTs or not and it will be his responsibility if he is liquidated.

What is the use of the concept if almost all the use of cryptocurrencies is reduced to a banal pump-and-dump scheme? This is especially true for the altcoin industry. Bitcoin also has a beautiful concept: a means of payment that cannot be seized or blocked, and which occurs without the participation of third parties. But in reality: bitcoin has become regulated, with the possibility of arrest, blocking, and a large number of bitcoins revolves around third-party services. The overwhelming use of bitcoin is speculative rather than a means of payment. But on the other hand, he has such a concept, different than the market one.

Many technologies or individual projects had an interesting concept that would bridge the gap between the crypto industry and everyday life, including various businesses, hobbies, art, cinema, mass media, etc. I do not deny that there have been and will be further attempts to link it. But all these beautiful concepts collide with reality when speculators, participants using borrowed funds, etc. come into the project and begin to parasitize the price of the asset. Until people learn to see cryptocurrency as a technology, and not just a means of earning money, all these beautiful concepts will not get the proper distribution.

Is the concept of crypto a pump and dump scheme? You are not separating the market occurrences from the concept. Bitcoin is also a victim of this occurrence. Does everyone really accept that bitcoin's price bubbles are not an effect of speculation and price manipulation? Regulations cannot fix this, look at Wall Street. We should accept this reality that people will always buy on speculation.

I reckon that we might have different attitudes on the concept of NFT and ICO because I accept that from this, market speculation will always exist and scams will always be created. However, I do not consider that everything that is not bitcoin is a scam.

Israel Adesanya VS Jared Cannonier Round 5 Decision - WIN
Big congratulations to Isreal, One of the biggest winners in that game apart from him is drake the musicians who bet a whopping $1M  that he was going to win and won $2.5M. Isreal is making a good record for himself with now twenty three wins and one loss. His confidence level will be up as well having not lost any of his last twelve fights and preparing to face Pereira who he has a history with, it will be an entertaining fight to see them both once again, head to head on the stage.

Is his bet only on Izzy? How could this be? The odds on Izzy was only 1.18. Izzy might not be Drake's only bet or he should share to us what sportsbook he is using before it becomes bankrupt from giving very good odds heheehhe. In any case, the Last Stylebender versus the Killa Gorilla was not very good to watch. It was very boring and according to Alex Pereira the fans were leaving on round 4.

During his UFC 276 post-fight press conference, Pereira expressed disappointment in Adesanya’s showing in the main event.

“It was not a fight that not only (didn’t) excite me but also did not excite the crowd. I was very sad to see that,” Pereira said of Adesanya’s performance. “So I hope when we fight, he do a better fight than that. For sure, I want to make him fight to give a better show to the crowd.”

Since Pereira first signed with the UFC, speculation has risen regarding a third fight between him and Adesanya. Pereira has accused Adesanya of ducking him leading up to Adesanya’s post-UFC 276 callout.

Source https://www.mmanews.com/2022/07/pereira-adesanya-ufc-276/

Disappointing to see how boring the fight.  It didn't live up to what is expected to see since the two are known to throw shots that could immediately bring anyone of them down.  It didn't entertain the people on the side of the cage, they are the ones looking for action.

As for  Pereira, he is likely trying to annoy Adesanya. Pereira  is looks up to what Izzy had achieved in UFC while in the first try of Izzy in the combat sports he had knocked him down. A little bit more of intimidation, Dana could match the two.

Agreed. Uncle Dana will begin creating his storyline for the only man who knocked out Israel Adesanya. However, I predict Izzy will avoid this fight and he will declare that he will go on a vacation to a place far somewhere hehheehehe. Alex Pereira is the man he fears.

For uncle Dana, Izzy's vacation will certainly be disappointing. However, he has a weapon for this. He will make an interim middleweight championship for Alex Pereira. I predict it will be versus Robert Whitaker.
2603  Economy / Gambling / Re: SandboxCasino.io サンドボックス It's Simple: Fun and Fair. on: July 05, 2022, 03:57:10 AM
@SammyGambler. I will assume that you are innocent unless proven guilty, however, the lesson for you is when Sandbox has frozen your $5000 before later allowing you to withdraw, you should have not sent it back to them. It was a warning about the service of the site already. Another lesson, do not use a VPN. VPNs are used by scammers and hackers which will give you an IP address that was used for scamming and hacking. They can use this as an excuse to freeze your account.
2604  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin users, are your withdrawals okay? on: July 05, 2022, 02:27:26 AM
Sam Bankman-Fried is one of the guys who would know if one exchange is insolvent or not. Imagine saving the butts of Voyager and BlockFi just to make amends with all of the crypto community. It will not be a good one if he lets it die. The insolvent exchanges probably asked for help from the FTX founder and told them that it would be hard for them and ask for help.

I'm going to be sad if that's KuCoin; I have known them for a while, but that's probably how it works, and they probably have reached max optimal loaning or something like that and made it insolvent.

I very much agree. Kucoin has become my favorite exchange after Bittrex before Bittrex became scammers similar to HitBTC. However, better to be safe and withdraw all your coins from centralized exchanges. I do not care if your exchange is the biggest and most trusted exchange similar to Binance, FTX, Coinbase or Kraken.
2605  Other / Archival / Re: Binance Expands Crypto Adoption on: July 05, 2022, 01:31:47 AM
It appears that you do not differentiate the NFT market from the concept of a new medium of expression and art appreciation. It is very much similar to those mainstream people who do not differentiate the cryptocoin market from concept of cryptocoins. The market is full of manipulation, wash trading, moneylaundering, however, is a cryptocoin like bitcoin a scam? No it is not but it can be used for moneylaudering, fraud and other crimes.

The artists and the collectors will come to the cryptospace even if we do not like this. Similar to many people who discovered a new type of medium of exchange, there will also be many people who will discover this new type of medium of expression. We have not yet witnessed how big the concept of NFT will be. I reckon this is only beginning and this is getting ready for the next bull market. If you are a speculator, start doing your research. The next millionaires from nothing will be the investors of NFT and the the Defi protocols that support them.

You also say they are only holding NFTs for speculation? I am quite certain many people who are holders of NFTs will disagree with you. They are creating they're own subculture and this will never go away.

http://www.nft.nyc/

It seems that you do not distinguish modern reality from your expectations. Everything that you listed did not happen, but is only the fruit of your own expectations and your own vision of this concept. At the moment, 99% of NFT crap is a scam that nobody wants except for a quick profit. At the moment, NFT technology is used only as an attempt to cash in on your digital property, in an attempt to sell as expensive as possible ... and that's it. This is how the NFT industry seems to be and its main platform in 2021, OpenSea, as the personification of everything that the NFT industry is currently, this perfectly confirms.

By the way, recently a service was opened for issuing loans against well-known NFTs (Crypto Punks, ape board, etc.) with the possibility of NFT liquidation. This is the true purpose of your art, usury, speculation, margin positions and no self-expression, only business.

It appears you are not separating the concept and the market. You can try to consider the medium like how I am trying to. It is a new medium for artists where the can monetize their works through the cryptospace. This will make NFTs the gateway to bitcoin and the whole cryptospace.

@Bitcoin_Arena. But did the concept of ICOs, IDOs, IEOs, STOs as a democratized method of funding a project go away? Separate the market from the concept.

2607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 04, 2022, 02:13:11 AM
Looking at the current odds:

ML
Alvarez - 1.21
GGG - 3.95

So that is a huge disparity as far as the odds goes and they seems to really favoring Alvarez here. Maybe the age factor is what this bookies are looking at, GGG just won his last fight, while Canelo lost to Bivol. I think it's a great odds for GGG supporters this early as it is very attractive.

Agreed but do you not speculate GGG to be very underestmated for this fight? Canelo has only recently lost to Bivol. It was on a higher weight division, yes, however is Canelo ready for this only months after the loss? Bivol has also showed everyone the style on how to win vs. Canelo. Also, do you see this fight to reach round 12?
2608  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin users, are your withdrawals okay? on: July 04, 2022, 01:47:30 AM
I am not very sure if this is true or fud.
Since that source is just some random guy on Twitter is hard to say, but what he is saying about withdrawing your money from there is absolutely true, no one should hold their crypto on exchanges, including the most popular ones.
A lot of people (news organizations included, who should know better) give far too much weight to what random people on Twitter say, and in this case I'm not seeing any evidence that Kucoin is on the verge of insolvency.  And yes, there might be some KYC issues if the amount you want to withdraw is large--but that's included in their ToS if I'm not mistaken, so no shocker there.

Agreed. However, after witnessing the insolvencies that has occured in the cryptospace in the last 2 weeks, it might be safer to have some awareness and withdraw our coins from centralized exchanges. I am quite certain everyone will agree with this not your keys, not your coins.

2609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Acquires Additional 480 Bitcoins on: July 04, 2022, 12:26:22 AM
Yeah, well, a $1B paper loss or unrealized loss.

Way back when Saylor first started buying Bitcoin, I remember someone on the forum meandering something like, "time will tell if he's a madman or a genius." This is going to depend a lot on the behavior of the Bitcoin price.
It's the price of course. If today the price of bitcoin was $100k then people would say him a genius if they call them madman now. He is not genius nor madman, he is an investor. An investor do not throw away their wealth. They have strategy and they follow it.

Unlike 99% who think they are highly skilled traders and when price is skyrocketing they make some trades with positive gains against dollar, the real investors analyze the data for longer terms.

The argument is not about the price. It is about Michael Saylor's investment strategy or does he have an investment strategy? It is head shaking that he began buying on 2020 and the investment has a $1 billion loss and bitcoin is up since 2020. Open a chart and mark where he bought. He bought all the peaks. The community keeps cheering on Saylor, however, he might be bringing more danger to the market.
2610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: July 03, 2022, 07:46:31 AM
@ChiBitCTy. Agreed. Everyone in the league would not cheat only to win $50 from the other players hehehe. I think we have won or lost more than that in trading altcoins and tokens or betting on different types of casinos games and sportsbooks hehehe. There would be nothing to worry about if the transfers are transparent.
2611  Economy / Gambling / Re: Livecasino.io - 🔥 up to 20% cashback 🔥 up to 20% rakeback 🚨 on: July 03, 2022, 07:11:52 AM
So you know as written in this thread title in fact I didn't get anything this month after losing $ 1.2k
Does anyone have a reason why I have to play here again?

Have you tried to contact Livecasino's live chat support? There would not be a single reason why they would not give the customers their 20% rakeback or cashback. You should ask what the cashback schedule. It might be 1 week after the first day of the month.

In any case, @livecasino.io, is a sportsbook in your roadmap? There are also other sites that issued their own tokens and have entered Defi through their own DAO, would this be something you want to do?
2612  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for July on: July 03, 2022, 06:38:58 AM
My vote would be similar to the polls before this. No idea. Without this I want to show everyone that I am not a pessimistic antagonzier and I voted no hehehehe. However, if someone like Elon Musk becomes a marginal seller and dumps bitcoin to $14,000, it will certainly be a chance to buy and expect a quick reversal.
2613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Acquires Additional 480 Bitcoins on: July 03, 2022, 06:17:03 AM
Man trying to DCA with millions.  Grin
That's a seven figure number. It's fair enough for a company.

For any individual a three figure is not bad at all. Imagine someone who is continuing DCA from 2017 or earlier. They also considered selling some at the peak. Again they are buying back in difference price. There will be many who has been doing it from years.

MicroStrategy could be an example that it's never late in crypto.

I disagree. Microstrategy is an example on how not to invest in the cryptospace. The investment holds 129,699 coins with an average price of $30,664. This is a loss of $1 billion on an asset that has pumped 4x since March 2020.

It will also not only be about the loss on paper at present. Microstrategy will be reporting this loss in their monthly income statement. It is very head shaking what he has done.

How is it a loss? You should call it maybe a virtual loss. He didn't sell to actually lose anything. So, there is no actual loss. Same goes with El Salvador. The country lost nothing because they didn't sell nothing. 1 BTC = 1 BTC. Same goes if value goes up. They profit nothing unless they sell. That concept only comes to reality when a sell is made!

The correct term is called a paper loss and you are correct that the loss is not yet a realized loss, however, this loss will be reported in the company's income statement. This makes the loss appear very real among shareholders and board of directors? What would he tell them? Also, do not forget Michael Saylor's history in investing. He was one of the biggest losers during the internet boom. Microstrategy's investment on Bitcoin now is with a $1 billion loss because of his bad decisions.
2614  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin users, are your withdrawals okay? on: July 03, 2022, 05:35:18 AM
And who would have thought that some users confirmed on twitter that they actually withdrawb all their portfolio. Johnny Liu has denied these allegations and said that he would take serious steps against the FUD spreaders. source

It's a relief because I personally still have high hopes for Kucoin not to make even crazier KYC rules any time soon, I have no plans to withdraw my portfolio in this bear market.

It appears this fud is spreading more widely than I have expected. In any case, it also appears that there are not many users of Kucoin in bitcointalk?

Another bad news, @samczsun has tweeted another hash of a text string or a hash of hash of a text string. Some have mentioned that this is bad news about USDC. Can anyone decode it? I have tried to do it, however, it does not work in all the websites I have tried. The last hashed text string he tweeted said 3AC is insolvent. The tweet was made 1 month before it was confirmed.

2615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: According to Sam Bankman-Fried, some Bitcoin exchanges are insolvent on: July 02, 2022, 06:58:48 AM
I know that Sam has already been giving out help towards those exchanges that are losing out in the lending space. I view it like this. Two scenarios could play out because of the businesses that might go bankrupt or companies that go down, and Sam is the only one who could save them. Imagine this.

If Sam let his competitors down.
 - Most of the users in the exchanges he didn't help will lose trust in the whole cryptocurrency market. Then people affected by it would make it seem that people shouldn't invest in crypto, hence the loss of potential investors and interest in the market. So the whole cryptocurrency will go down, and the general public's view on cryptocurrencies will also go down.

Conclusion:
Lose-Lose

If Sam helped his competitors
 - The whole cryptocurrency market can be saved and not destroyed in view and essence. Of course, the market will still go down but not to the point that it can dip so bad that people would lose interest and won't believe in cryptocurrencies anymore. When he helped BlockFi and Voyager, it had already proved that many companies needed to bail out, and he saved his competitors for the greater good. That's just how it is.

Conclusion: Lose in the short-term, Win in the long term.

That's just how I view it now when it comes to the cryptocurrency market, and it would be helpful if it's going to be everyone helping each other to make the world better and suitable for everyone.

It is also said that it was Sam who liquidated everyone hehehe. It also appears that Sam has also pushed everyone in his way aside when he was on his way to become one of the kings of the cryptospace and share the throne with CZ. However, what is his real plan? Defeat CZ similar to what he did to Arthur Hayes?
2616  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin (BTC) Crash To $13K After The Fed Rate Hike? on: July 02, 2022, 05:34:02 AM
It is certainly beginning to appear like inflation hedge is only being used as a storyline or a marketing tool by many bitcoiners to market bitcoin. I am sorry if this is insulting to much of you, however, it is not my purpose.

In any case, @adaseb, more bad news about another victim of Su Zhu and 3 Arrows Capital. This time it is Genesis Trading, owned by DCG which is also owned by Barry Silbert.

Bitcoin is inflation resistant this I always agreed,,, but yes, I think a lot of people in Bitcoin are misusing terms here and there. Then again,,, a lot of terms that are suited for stocks and bets have been applied to Bitcoin and I think we can say that these terms evolve. I see a lot of terms like Dead Cat Bounce that actually do not even apply to Bitcoin (but still people use it).

You hedge a bet by placing it on something that is opposite to what the bet is supposed to do, so maybe some people bought Bitcoin as an inflation hedge and it totally worked (you can use it in many countries in Asia and America and it would definitely work!).

But use it in business and loans and short term debt like these MicroStrategy and 3 Arrows people my god,,, terrible idea. Did someone forget to tell these guys Bitcoin is volatile?

Yes, however, as a buyer of bitcoin on November I saw the value of my inflation hedge go down more than 50% with also 8% less value of the currency valuing the inflation hedge. This circle jerk must end and we must use objective thinking.

In any case, there is nothing wrong in using bitcoin as collateral as long as the loans are overcollaterized. Blockfi, Voyager, Genesis and Celsius used customer deposits for undercollaterized loans to 3 Arrows Capital.
2617  Economy / Exchanges / Kucoin users, are your withdrawals okay? on: July 02, 2022, 04:48:08 AM
In an interview with Forbes magazine, Sam Bankman-Fried mentioned that there are smaller exchanges that are now secretly insolvent. He did not mention specific exchanges, however, there is someone on Twitter who said that there are rumors that Kucoin will halt withdrawals in the near future.

There was also someone else who replied that Kucoin has started implementing KYC before being approved to withdraw.

I am not very sure if this is true or fud. This is why I am asking you. I traded in Kucoin last week and I had no problems using the exchange. I deposited my cryptocoins and withdrawn my stablecoins within 1 hour.

I am hearing rumors that KuCoin is about to halt withdrawals in the near future.

I have closed all open trades and immediately taken all money off KuCoin. From what I’ve been hearing, this ‘rumor’ will soon be a reality. Do not suffer the same fate as others who had their money stolen by irresponsible platforms.

And in this event, there are two fighting kitties that I spotted and they are Jessica Eye, who I think has an Onlyfans account, and surely some juicy adult pictures in those accounts, but on these two fighting kittens I really like the other Jessica, and that is the Harley Quinn on the UFC Jessica-Rose Clark, and I will be vouching for these two kitties on the UFC 276,
Yep, Jessica-Rose Clark is the most gorgeous kitty in UFC 276 and we're like watching Harley Quinn in UFC lol, she have better grappling and ground skill too, so might see she will win against Julija Stoliarenko.

There are many more sexy pictures of Jessy Jess but you used one where she is wearing something similar to a woman's business suit heheheehehe.

However, do not underestimate the Russian, Julija Stoliarenko. She has a tricky armbar. Also, underdogs in the women's division appear to be winning recently. There was the pole dancer Vanessa Demopoulos and also the other one who defeated another kitty, Maria the Spider Oliveira. She wanted to be called the Spider because she wants to look like Anderson Silva in the octagon hehe.
2619  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin (BTC) Crash To $13K After The Fed Rate Hike? on: July 01, 2022, 02:18:48 AM
I see that you are only partly right. To think that a rate hike should lead people to automatically buy Bitcoin as Iadegbola34 says is a mistake, I agree, but Bitcoin has proven to be the best inflation hedge since it was created. Even with the recent downturn, Bitcoin has hedged better against inflation than gold or the stock market, for example, as those have also gone down. Another thing is that it is volatile, since the definition of inflation hedge makes no mention of volatility:

What Is an Inflation Hedge?

An inflation hedge is an investment that is considered to protect the decreased purchasing power of a currency that results from the loss of its value due to rising prices either macro-economically or due to inflation. It typically involves investing in an asset that is expected to maintain or increase its value over a specified period of time.

The point is that in the medium and long term, Bitcoin has so far proven to be the best inflation hedge since its inception.

I'm quite unsure of that. Yes, maybe you can make that conclusion because on the long-term bitcoin has over-performed. But stocks like Amazon and Apple over-performed the market as well, does it make both assets an inflation hedge as well? I don't think so.

Cryptocurrency market maker and lending firm Genesis Trading is facing potential losses into the “hundreds of millions,” according to three people familiar with the matter.
The losses at Genesis relate in part to exposure to over-leveraged hedge fund Three Arrows Capital and Hong Kong-based crypto lender Babel Finance and are on the order of “a few hundred million dollars,” one of the people said.

The losses come as the collapse of Three Arrows Capital sends shockwaves across the crypto lending industry, with numerous firms facing substantial losses from their exposure to the fund.

@uneng. There will be some companies in the cryptospace that cannot be saved. Also, there are some speculations that Celsius's CEO, Alex Mashinsky might have been dumping CEL tokens on the market.

Another head shaking information on Celsius is their head of institutional lending is Jessica Khater who is a former pornstar or someone who has done porn before working for Celsius.

Due to public revelations by Mr. Mashinsky, we uncovered a network of wallets that appears to be under his direct control. Some of these wallets were involved in the earliest transfers of CEL tokens. One of the wallets, as we have shown previously, was used by Mr. Mashinsky to participate in multiple ICO rugpulls. All told, these wallets have seen nearly 200 million CEL pass through them en route to various destinations. Alex Mashinsky owned at least 77 million CEL tokens in 2019. At least 19 million were sold either via the Liquid exchange or through decentralized exchanges (DEXs) like Uniswap. Alex was a major liquidity provider for CEL markets on DEXs using these wallets.
