2621  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [45+PH] KanoPool kano.is BEST 0.9% fee PPLNS US,DE,JP,NL,NYA 🐈 on: February 03, 2018, 03:43:21 AM
FYI, blokforge had 4 821's available in their feb batch (the expensive ones)
And march units available.

Bitmain still has T9+ in stock as well. $2008 USD

I Have no BCH, however. I would gladly get rid of these A6's and S7's for some T9's
Only thing besides the fact that they're more reliable than the S9 and ship within 10 days is that they're inefficient and have less chips than the old T9 (lower hashrate), making them a questionable buy even if you had enough BCH to purchase them. I'd hold off on buying miners for now.

I don't know too much about them other than what is advertised. Inefficient in what way, consistency or power wise?

I was going to wait and see what popped up on Ebay with the BTC price dropping and I'm sure plenty of folk panicking. I was wondering if either the S9's will be dropping in price with people trying to get out OR if the price goes up while the S7's continue to drop while people look for more efficient mining gear. It is interesting either way. That bullshit Tea company apparently canceled 1000 S9's too so we'll see what happens with those haha.
They're inefficient power-wise and I haven't heard much news about them recently.

I'm sure the price of S9s and miners all over the board will drop soon with people buying S9s for ~$6000 on eBay. It's just going to be a matter of when. Mining always gets interesting when profits crash and difficulty rises quickly.
2622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: eBay moving from PayPal as primary payment option on: February 03, 2018, 03:39:06 AM
This should be in service discussion more than mining discussion.

People will still probably abuse the buyer guarantee system and things will go on as usual unless they specifically change it. I'm still not touching eBay until something about that changes for sellers. Yes, I've made money from selling old gear (especially USB/compact miners like the Jalapeno, Rbox) on it but I've also had horrible selling experiences with em and that's the primary reason I don't use eBay anymore.

2624  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S9 Power Variances on: February 02, 2018, 11:42:41 PM
Additionally if you want to save some more (or you can't find breakout boards somehow) money you can buy a server PSU, find the pinouts, and then wire up the connectors yourself by soldering them on.

There are 2kw+ server PSUs, I remember J4bberwock (buckrogers?) or some other member sold boards, the PSU itself and whole packages of the PSU (was some sort of IBM PSU, pretty loud IIRC). You'll probably find it if you do a bit of digging here.

Searched "J4bberwock IBM" on google, and results show it's a 2880W IBM PSU.

https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/new/

I get most of my deals from this subreddit, I have notifications set up with nowinstock that occasionally work, and I also have alerts on EVGA's site. They often have sales of B-stock cards near MSRP, and of course Nvidia's store also restocks every now and then near MSRP. Just last night I got a 780 Ti from EVGA's site for $70.
2626  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Samsung confirms they’re developing ASIC’s on: February 01, 2018, 09:36:09 PM
I’m so happy! this is great news. I’ll refrain from laughing at Bitmain and Canaan.

https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/31/samsung-confirms-asic-chips/

Haha, that's cool, but making ASIC chips doesn't mean they're making miners. For example they could be making ASICs ships for Bitmain to build with. I really wonder who they are making these chips for, though. They will be a major player, whomever they are.
Ebang announced their new miner would use Samsung 10nm chips, could be part of it. I feel like that's probably where the chips are going, it's still anybody's guess though. Could even be an algo other than SHA256 for all we know.
2627  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mining directly to Binance BTC Address on: February 01, 2018, 09:29:47 PM
You don't actually control the address you're mining to by mining to Binance, wouldn't recommend it. Always mine to an address you control, and use a Segwit address (Starting with 3) to reduce fees for the most security and least fees. You also avoid the aforementioned maintenances, etc that occur on exchanges.

Besides that, fees are already pretty low right now. Unless another spam attack happens, fees shouldn't be an issue.

2628  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: February 01, 2018, 03:41:19 PM
They could've already manufactured these miners beforehand and they're just planning to dump them all in March. Considering difficulty is continuing to skyrocket and the price continues to fall, Bitmain could be doing this to prepare for the launch of a new miner. All speculation though.
2629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My future rig: pricelist on: January 31, 2018, 09:53:13 PM
Additionally, you may be able to save some money buying a server psu and soldering on 6pin cables yourself or getting a breakout board and putting 6 pin connectors onto it. Not sure how prices are in Europe, but I've been able to save hundreds of dollars buying server PSUs instead of ATX PSUs, and most of them are rated Gold or Platinum. You'll also be able to attach whatever cables you need onto the PSU, so there'll be less cable issues.
2630  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Doing well with One-click miner. Should I switch? on: January 31, 2018, 09:46:26 PM
If you want the most out of your machine and you want to earn as much as possible, try finding a coin you're interested in and has a good average profitability (I.E Ethereum, Monero, ZCash, etc.), and try to mine to a pool for the coin you choose and configure the miner and your graphics card yourself. This way, you're gaining experience, saving on fees and earning a bit more as a result.
2631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NVIDIA GPU´S !!! WHAT TO MINE INSTEAD OF NICEHASH on: January 31, 2018, 09:40:15 PM
Just try mining Ethereum with Claymore or any other miner and compare your earnings after some amount of time like a few days. Nicehash does have fees because you're essentially paying for the convenience of automatic profit switching, a GUI, conversion to BTC, etc., and you'll definitely save on fees and earn more if you switch to just an Ethereum pool.

There are other Ethash coins and Zcash that can be mined with your 1060, but at this moment it's more profitable to mine Ethereum than Zcash or any other alt. If you're trying to find what coin to mine you can try using Whattomine, but they sometimes overestimate earnings. Ideally you want the coin with the highest average earnings over several days.

2632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Samsung ASIC Chips - Positive News for Miners on: January 31, 2018, 08:35:35 PM
The chips are most likely going to Ebang's new SHA256 miner, nothing amazing going on here. They advertised a new miner on the 10nm process from Samsung and that's most likely where those chips will be going. It'll be interesting seeing what the price of the miner will be, and if Ebang will actually do a good job with their miner and not shit the bed again.
2633  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info issues? on: January 31, 2018, 08:12:25 PM

Any of them is a good choice of wallet, desktop wallet is good one for those people who can't afford to buy hardware wallet. What hardware do you prefer, nano ledger s or trezor? If you decided to choose nano ledger s their next batch will be at the end of March so it will take a long time before you'll get your own. But this can also help you https://www.ledgerwallet.com/retailers if someone in your place is a legit retailer.

In my area, I can buy both or even some others. There is one that is cheaper. Which one would you recommend? What's the difference between them?

My choice would be the one that would survive as the time goes by, I mean that the technology won't become outdated in like a year or two?!

Thanks

The Ledger supports more coins and I've seen more development on it than the Trezor (though both are open source and it's just up to devs to add support for their coin in either hardware wallet). It's a hardware wallet and if the tech in it becomes outdated you can always just get another hard wallet. I'd personally go with whatever is cheapest as both do the job of storing coins securely just fine.
2634  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain Repair on Warranty on: January 31, 2018, 05:38:32 PM
I highly recommend Myrig as well. They are an authorized Bitmain repairer to my knowledge and I also use their hosting services. One of my hosted S7s broke down and they were able to repair it for free in just around three hours. They’re paid, but repair time and shipping costs should be less than that of Bitmain China’s. Even their support system is extremely fast and I’ve never had any issue with them.

There are so many A3's on feebay, its crazy.

If you look at the computer hardware section of the forum you’ll notice plenty of A3s being sold too. There’s many people out there trying to sell the miners as of right now because some people see the miner becoming the D3, whether or not that actually happens is anyone’s guess.
2636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Isn't mining a bit old fashion? on: January 31, 2018, 05:20:03 PM
One of the things that makes POW work in the first place is the fact that electricity costs money. Without consuming something, POW wouldn’t really secure the network. There’s a cost to securing any network, and in the case of most crypto this is the use of electrical power.
2637  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: January 31, 2018, 12:16:30 AM
Interesting, is anyone actually using T9s? They were not available for quite some time. Now shipping in 10 days? Can anyone decipher Bitmains strategy here? They release weaker miners like T9 and A3, shipping in 10 days, while the S9 are not available at all.

I am assuming that they have the logistics nailed down and have no problem going from manufacturing to shipping thousands of units in a matter of days. Over the last 2-3 months I read more and more that they actually are delivering units 2-4 weeks ahead of schedule. Let's hope that is still the case as I am waiting on March S9 batches.

I think S9 march batches will be the last S9, i think there will be new miner using new chip after.
Why do you think so? I haven't seen any solid info showing Bitmain's making a new miner or at least a new Bitcoin ASIC chip, and they are still in a good position to make money by just lowering the price of their S9 if more competition comes around.
2638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining crash coming soon? on: January 30, 2018, 09:29:16 PM
The 1070 may be ridiculously overpriced right now, but like the poster above me said, there are alternatives that make more sense to buy. There's even a 1080 FE in stock on Best buy right now for $589 right now. I can check out with it right now, seems like it is continuously going in and out of stock right now though.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-founders-edition-geforce-gtx-1080-8gb-gddr5x-pci-express-3-0-graphics-card/5330600.p?skuId=5330600

The point is graphics cards still come back in stock regularly even now. If you've got any patience you'll get what you want.

Considering the fact that Bitmain's apparently giving coupons to Obelisk buyers that could be used to purchase the A3, seems like the profitability on the A3s is going to continue to drop. It'll be the next D3 or worse.

Colorful isn't exactly a well-known manufacturer name outside Asia but they're supposedly one of the more popular GPU/Motherboard manufacturers in the Asian region. I don't know about the particular motherboard though.

From what I can gather from the comments section of this video the motherboard seems to work as advertised. AliExpress does have decent buyer protection so you should be covered if it doesn't work.
