1761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Today I turned off all the miners I manage on: October 18, 2018, 05:34:37 PM
I'm continuing to mine as my electrical rates hover at around $0.07/kWh, but I've also started shutting down less profitable miners and scrapping them for parts to sell while parts are still worth a bit of money. I don't operate any SHA256 asics anymore, as they're all just barely profitable and I've also sold them off while they've still got value. I just have a few rigs with newer 5XX, 4XX and 1060 GPUs now.
1762  Economy / Gambling / Re: Guarda Chrome extension allows you to work with any gambling DApp on: October 18, 2018, 03:26:10 PM
Interesting. I wouldn’t use it to seriously store funds, as any chrome extension can potentially be compromised if someone happens to gain the ability to change the application somehow, and it’s always a good idea to store coins in a hardware wallet (unless you’re okay with losing all the funds you have on a desktop wallet).

One popular gambling dApp I’ve seen is Dice2Win. They’re a dice-oriented gambling site that some people have said to be decent.

Isn't it a scam?
I’ve looked around the web and i don’t see any reports of the site being a scam, so I assume that it’s legit as of now. Most of the discussion about the site seems to be on the etheroll subreddit, and things are mostly neutral there.  The site also has pretty good volume according to dappradar.
1763  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What kind of coin are you waiting for on the pump? on: October 18, 2018, 03:12:06 PM
I’m personally waiting on Tron and BTC to go back up. I acquired lots of tron at $0.05 and also at the $0.02 mark, so any increase in the near future should mean that I’m in the green. The coin price has held flat near $0.02 for a while, and I think there’s bound to be some news that’ll make the price increase soon. I did sell off a bit of my stash a few months back, but Tron is definitely a coin I’ll be holding long-term.

If you’re in North America, eBay can be a good place to find cheap cards used, with some RX 5XX and RX 4XX cards going near $100 in used condition and GTX 1060 6GBs going for around $150 used in some cases. Just watch out for low-feedback scam sellers (a common sign is no seller feedback or seller and buyer feedback from a long time ago), and you’ll be alright. I no longer sell on eBay due to their horrible seller protection, but it’s mostly safe as a buyer. It’s just the scam sellers that waste your time in the end.
1766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best legit online store on: October 18, 2018, 01:05:55 AM
HolyBitcoin worked well for me in the past, but the site seems to be pretty dormant as of now, and there isn't much being sold on the site atm.

BlokForge is an official Canaan reseller for North America, and they are a legitimate site selling various wares from the Avalon SHA256 miners, some Bitmain miners including the DR3 and Z3, and also GPUs and PSUs. BlokForge has increased prices for some miners on their site due to tariffs and have announced that they'll be offering a discount in the future for those outside the US, but no date was quoted for the announcement. They accept both BTC and a bank wire for most items.
1767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with normal games on: October 18, 2018, 12:50:21 AM
I used to play 10 man CSGO games on ESEA for money (a BO1 5v5 game, similar to a normal match), and they usually went pretty well with everyone paying the enemy if their team lost, but things started to go downhill and such competitions have mostly stopped because people stopped paying when they lost. I wasn't really in it for the money, but just to play with people better than me to improve, and it definitely helped me get better at CS:GO.
1768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cryptoslots - Provably Fair Cryptocasion with $1mil JACKPOT! on: October 17, 2018, 09:16:29 PM
Seems like a pretty average site. This is the main thread for the site for reference, and this is a link to the main site.

There's a minimum deposit of $25 and minimum withdrawal of $100 for anyone interested. I typically deposit more and withdraw more at once than the limits on this site, but this may be an issue for those who don't gamble as much at once. If you're into promotions, there are several going on at the site here. Their provably fair system is different than others that I have seen on other sites, but it's apparently up to specifications compared to most other sites.
1769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Check your Electric Bill on: October 17, 2018, 08:48:22 PM
I always turn on my semi-nonprofitable rigs during the winter just for heating, and it's served me well, as where I live, the winters are relatively long and cold. Mining profitability may drop a bit during the winter as more people also mine with less profitable cards to heat their homes, but if you're running a few GPU rigs, it's easy to move them to certain rooms for heating. I've done this for a few years now, even with slightly louder BTC ASICs, but it's always worked out for me.
1770  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Asicminer.co has anyone heard of this company? on: October 17, 2018, 08:44:25 PM
I also recall looking at a vid from VoskCoin about the Asicminer 8 and seeing that the miner only hashed at 4TH/s with a possible serverside hashrate boost from ASICminer to make their BTC miner hit the advertised rate of 40TH/s. The thread about that is located here if you'd like to take a look at it, but it is interesting that ASICminer has their miners go through a web-based dashboard, and it makes me wonder what might happen if the ASICminer dashboard site were to go down, as it doesn't seem the miner is controllable locally.
1771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin in E-Sports.. on: October 17, 2018, 01:19:07 PM
There’s a few esport betting sites that accept bitcoin, and the one that I used quite a bit in the past was Nitrogensports, which is a legit site that many people have used here. Only problem I had was that the volume on certain CS:GO matches I was betting on was somewhat low, but I didn’t have any other issues besides that. I have also heard of people using Thunderpick for betting on CS:GO matches, but I can’t verify completely how good the site is and if it’s legit as I haven’t personally used it yet.
1772  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to advertise (A bitcoin game) on: October 17, 2018, 01:11:38 PM
I’d say an announcement in either the Announcement section under Maretplace or the Gambling section would be an appropriate place to advertise your game on this forum. Signature campaigns can be costly, but contacting any campaign manager like yahoo62278 should help you get an estimate of how much a campaign might cost. If you do choose to go with the campaign route, I suggest paying in a major cryptocurrency like BTC or ETH; paying in alts or tokens turns away potential applicants.
1773  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Virtual visa or mastercard on: October 17, 2018, 01:38:19 AM
Hi, does anyone know of a virtual visa or mastercard that exists where verification/ID isn't asked for? I need to pay for multiple accounts on a website under different names, and everywhere I look, ID is required. I tried Entropay but now they decline my transaction when I try to load any cards I create. I live in the UK by the way. Thanks

Have you done some research at your local banks or online wallet services? Because there is a high chance you'll find local one which offers virtual visa possibly without KYC.
Btw in UK it's easy to obtain license, don't trust to every unknown company. On bitcointalk, in Goods section, you can find some people who offer virtual visa/master cards for online payments where you can top up your virtual card with bitcoin.
Yup, adding on to the licensing in the UK, it's now common for crypto Ponzi schemes to advertise themselves as a 'licensed company in the UK' with a verifiable license, so if you're looking for whether or not a website is legit, always check here. There's a thread for just about any crypto-related topic here, and on most you can see for yourself what sites are good and which ones aren't.

I can't find much info on the legitimacy of TierraPay, and the only thing I found about it on these forums was a thread in Russian that I had to translate, with nearly no activity besides one newbie stating the site is good and the OP bumping the thread. I also found a site stating that their debit card service may not be completely working; whatever happens, update us here.
1774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bustadice vs DiceBet Leveraged Investment Returns - Recorded Weekly - 0.6BTC! on: October 16, 2018, 10:56:03 PM
I've just deposited around 0.015BTC at maximum leverage (50x) on DiceBet to experiment with an investment on the site. I had some minor issues regarding my deposit, as my BTC deposit transaction was at 2 confirmations but the coin wasn't ever credited to my account, but there was a moderator that credited funds to my account after I contacted support in about a half hour. DiceBet seems nice already with their rapid support, can't wait to see how things go with this investment.
1775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I need a Scrypt Miner on: October 16, 2018, 10:49:55 PM
MiningRigRentals should do it. I don't see a minimum deposit for Bitcoin on the site (I'm currently logged in to the site), and they only require 3 confirmations for your funds to be added. There's a fee suggestion but you don't have to use it, of course. I used MRR back in January of 2016, and I still use it occasionally today, and from what I can see now they're legit. They also allow you to deposit in LTC, Dash and ETH if you happen to have those coins for easier deposits.
1776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bustadice vs DiceBet Leveraged Investment Returns - Recorded Weekly - 0.6BTC! on: October 16, 2018, 10:01:57 PM
I've also got some BTC sitting around in a spare wallet, and I may also try investing in a few casinos again after not doing so for a while. Nice to see that returns are still decent on this particular type of investment, I like the charts that you put up with every update that are included with Bustadice, it helps to visualize your investment well.

Continuing with the charts, I think it'd be better if you stuck with the dark theme you started using starting on the 9th of October. The forum background color is whitish blue, and having a solid darker background gives more visibility here. Keep up the updates!
1777  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Improvements in Bounty Campaigns on: October 16, 2018, 09:46:25 PM
I personally look for the following in a signature campaign:

• BTC payment (I don't like payment in ETH), no tokens whatsoever as value often plummets after bounties are released, some just turn into shitcoins.
• A trustworthy signature campaign manager with history and trust on the forums, must be active on the forums and in the community
• Reasonable merit requirements. I feel some campaigns have rather high merit requirements, though most are fine with requirements below 50 plus the base merit requirement for the rank.
• Reasonable posts/week. I don't want to join a a campaign that requires I post 50 times in a week, and I feel most other people are this way. Chipmixer does this concept well, with a high maximum post count and a stable pay-per-post rate so both active and less active members are fairly paid.
• Escrow is a must for lesser-trusted organizations. The particular campaign I am currently participating in, FortuneJack's signature campaign, is not escrowed, but the site has enough trust and history that I feel it's fine that funds are not escrowed, though this should be used in campaigns for newer organizations.
1778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does this sound realistic? on: October 16, 2018, 12:01:30 AM
There are indeed professional gamblers out there, but it takes lots of practice and learning, and it's definitely not something for everyone. You've got to have lots of discipline to make money from gambling, and an ability to adapt to change- this Reddit thread features a person that is supposedly a professional gambler answering questions about his occupation and other things, and I think this is a relatively interesting read, but it's going to take lots of time to gain the skills to make money from gambling; again, people put thousands of hours into this, and it's definitely not for everyone.
1779  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Shortage of positions in bitcoin signature campaigns for good posters? on: October 15, 2018, 09:20:20 PM
Yup, I've only signed up for one token-based campaign during my time on this forum, and the one I happened to land on was the Moonlite ICO, which I still haven't gotten paid for months after the termination of their signature campaign. I understand that the manager of the campaign at the time was aTriz and he was under pressure around the time that the campaign was finalized, but considering what I've seen from many signature campaigns for tokens and how disorganized they are, I'm never going to join another one again; flooding of tokens on the market and lack of token listing is also a problem many token signature campaigns have.
1780  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is bitify.com down ? on: October 15, 2018, 08:54:08 PM
The site's been up and working all day for me; didn't see this thread previously but it's been up for a while now.

I use both OB and Bitify, and I also have to agree that having a platform that doesn't require downloading an app that's only for desktop devices is nice. I mostly browse Bitify through my phone and it works just fine, whereas OB requires me to download their software before I purchase anything. The day OB opens up a website that allows you to purchase via a regular internet browser through any device, I'll definitely change to using them.
