Really looking forward to it. Cheesy
2642  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet Clients without hefty fees? on: January 25, 2014, 12:30:41 PM
Thank you guys for the info, Unfortunately, I dint know this would be a risk, I wanted to send 60 BTC with zero fees, I guess its better.

With 60BTC, the tx is very likely a high priority one. (FYI: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction_fees)
If so, you can send it without any fee using any popular clients like bitcoin-qt or Electrum.
The tx will probably take a longer time to get included in a block though.
2643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would a fake transaction look like? on: January 25, 2014, 12:26:23 PM

Since 24/01/14, the network react strange ... (confirmation is more like "4 in less 10min" after 1h of waiting time with 0 confirmations).
But the all 6 confirmations time remainly the same. Cool

Difficulty adjustment happended on 24Jan, and the difficulty went up by 22%.

By the way, block finding is a random process.
"Several blocks in a short period of time / No block in a long period of time" happened from time to time, and is perfectly normal.
2644  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam alert technobit.eu on: January 25, 2014, 12:03:59 PM
Thanks for the alert.

I agree to the thread opener. Never got a refund as promised ("10 days until christmas") via email or contact form.

Technobit.eu is just scam So, beware!
Ordered with December delivery, still waiting and no email answers.

Guess the scammer has run away with your funds.
Sorry for your loss Sad

2647  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting into the game - Need advice on: January 25, 2014, 11:42:52 AM
A great way to multiply your bitcoins is to invest them into 2nd generation crypto currencies.

There are a lot of new currencies and protocols coming out now that are more technically advanced than bitcoin.

Mastercoin
Next
Counterparty
EMunie
Ethereum
Colored Coins
Zerocoin

I think diversifying between these new currencies is a great way for you to multiply your bitcoins.

But the skill is in picking the winners not the turkeys - not an easy task when there is a new altcoin born every week, and they are getting more and more complex

Good luck with that.
You could double your bitcoin or lost 50% in one day, as most of the alt-coin price movement are pump and dump.

Take a look at the all-time price movement of doge, and you will know what I mean.

OP hasn't login since 1 Jan, maybe he is already in jail lol Tongue
Or more likely, OP created his account just to "scam" some donations, and failed to get any Tongue

2650  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can Coinbase be hacked? on: January 25, 2014, 11:18:13 AM
Can Coinbase be hacked? Definitely.

All those big tech companies like Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter have been hacked previously, what makes you think Coinbase cannot be hacked?
2651  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Ph/s in bitcoin on: January 25, 2014, 11:13:20 AM
I heard of kh/s, mh/s, gh/s, th/s, but does this Ph/s mean it's higher than a trillion???

All those kilo, mega, giga are metric prefix.
FYI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metric_prefix

You will see EH/s later (maybe 2 years later) Cheesy
2652  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How come I can't post?? on: January 25, 2014, 11:03:27 AM
weird....i got knocked down back to newbie...

Yes, there was a change on the newbie restrictions and membergroup settings a few days ago.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423995.0

You will now need 30 activity to be a jr member.
2653  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Question on: January 25, 2014, 10:58:36 AM

lol.
Literally speaking, we no longer have the "Newbie" section now though.
2654  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago on: January 25, 2014, 10:53:21 AM
I have not posted for hours and it still says that :/

Login and post search will reset the timer.
Also, it will be just 75 seconds when you have 15 activity.
2655  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to put my Bitcoins? on: January 25, 2014, 10:46:23 AM
For general users, I believe Multibit, Electrum and blockchain.info with 2FA are good enough. Of course, you should make backups to the seed or wallet, and put up some encryption with good password.

If you have a lot of bitcoin, maybe you should use offline wallet or paper wallet.
2656  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how do you earn trust points? on: January 25, 2014, 10:41:44 AM
You also must check the person that give the trust feedback because there are many case he make many acc and then sent positive feedback to each acc

Yeah, those are called sock puppet accounts. And check for evidence of trades and transaction histories etc. And just because somebody has positive feedback for selling $5 worth of Doges or trading 0.005BTC successfully doesn't mean they won't scam you out of your money no matter how little it is.

With the defaulttrust setting, all those feedback from "untrusted" accounts should be hidden automatically.
2657  Other / Meta / Re: Different approach to newbies on: January 25, 2014, 10:36:47 AM
thus they have to withstand the "360 seconds limit" for at least a month.

That limit is unrelated to your membergroup. It adjusts only according to your activity.

So, the limit for those having 15 activity now is down to 75secs, just as before?
If so, sorry for my misunderstanding, and thanks for your clarification. Cheesy
2658  Other / Meta / Re: Different approach to newbies on: January 25, 2014, 10:27:49 AM
I would prefer the original system (1 post + 4 hours to get rid of newbie jail). It gives time for newcomers (not those signups solely for giveaway) to read posts, and this will very likely solve their own problems.

IMHO, the current system is even more annoying for the real newcomers (again not those coming for giveaway).
All the newcomers now need 30 activity to get to jr members, and thus they have to withstand the "360 seconds limit" for at least a month.
2659  Other / Meta / Re: Can't post to Newbies forum on: January 25, 2014, 10:18:00 AM
The whole newbie board was archived, but is now moved out of archive and renamed as "Beginners & Help".

You should be able to post there now.
