This has been suggested several times, and obviously the merit system is working. It has become harder to earn merits recently, but I believe this is the result of a paucity in quality threads, rather than a failing in the merit system. If you want to earn some merits, then start some good discussions. The crypto world is alive with news at the moment, so there shouldn't be a shortage of good topics.

I understand that the Washington puppet Manuel Figuera has been exposed, and his attempt to hijack the military failed. When will DC realise that their incompetent support for Guaido makes the politicians look like bumbling fools, and it discredits the honest and hard working American people who don't want all these wars to force illegal, regime changes.
It's time the Deep State stopped trying to steal Venezuela's oil, and gave Venezuela a chance to rebuild its economy.

Thank you for bumping this old thread. Fit to Talk is still alive, but I haven't spent as much time as I should have on the boards, and I apologise for this. The Fit to Talk English translation project is still open, and I guarantee at least 10 merits for anyone who creates a new topic to be used to start a thread here in Bitcoin Talk. The topic will need to be about local politics, or Bitcoin, or the use of crypto currencies in your country. Don't worry about not having very good English, we will work with you to create a good opening post, and you will get the credit. The topic needs to be original and a good quality topic, as we do not support plagiarism.

If you had a power failure, you could have created a transient and knocked out a component. Do you get any failures when you run anything else?

It might be easier to understand if you guys think of the chain splitting when two blocks are mined at the same time, and both are built on the highest current block. The miners will start to mine further blocks on one of them. and the new block will be a confirmation of that "fork". Miners will stop building on the shorter of the two forks, and it will die. All of the blocks in that fork will become ophaned blocks. Any unconfirmed transactions should be returned to the memory pool, and will be added to subsequent blocks in the new dominant fork.

I think beginners should start by running a full node ( maybe pruning it later ) . That will give them an idea of the mechanism in Bitcoin payments, and the operation and function of the system.

My reactions to the list
1. The merit awarding sounds complicated, and therefore may not be used by most members without an agenda. I think it would lead to merit flowing to the wrong people
2. I'm not big in the use of the trust system.
3. I want to support this, and I apologise for not having created a forum yet. I hit a few problems with the installation, and I haven't had the chance to sort them out.
4. Use the Brave browser. It is another browser that has been developed from the old Chromium browser.
5. That sounds like a fun project.
6. I don't seem to be any good at reporting posts, so I've backed away from this a bit.
7. Altcoins - I'd rather discuss the merits and demerits and the prospects for a few reputable coins, than read about the latest pump and dump coin.

With regards to using computers that have never had access to the net - I'm thinking of removing the hard drive from a notebook, and installing Linux on a couple of USB SSDs. I can then boot the computer from one of the SSDs. If I keep personal info on the one that never accesses the net, then that should give me a bit of extra security.

Well this thread has taken an interesting turn. I'm not sure that I still have the email, so I can't help you guys with that, and the images obviously didn't ever exist, and I'm not sure any of you guys would want to see them anyway.
At the moment I picking a banana shaped tabled that I found in a lay-by. It has been driven over, so it is useless as a tablet, but, just out of interest, I wondered if any of the stored info could be extracted from it. It's a Samsung GT-P3110.

I'm sorry if I'm clogging up the records. I use a variety of computing devices ( I think I've used about 10 so far ), and a mix of public and private connection methods and IPs from a variety of geographic locations. I'm also using Brave with a Tor window on occasions. If you want to track me down, then it would probably be easier to do it through a domain name, or you could just send me a PM. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

There still seems to be a massive focus on merit and sig campaigns. Right now crypto is at a major stage in its life. It is moving from childhood into adolescence, and that represents some life changing opportunities for a few of us. I had hoped that we could have some discussions about this, so that we could help each other to take advantage of the astronomical growth that will happen to a few of the alts. Engaging in quality discussions about this will help all of us.

I don't think accounts should be bought or sold.
I believe that for project continuity, joint accounts should be allowed, and accounts could be transferred within an organisation. In both cases, the status and use should be declared publicly.

The only problem that Bitcoin faces is that it will become too expensive for most people. It was created as an experiment for the replacement of the failing fiat system. It is now being accumulated by the banking elite, and it is obvious that it will become the gold standard in crypto. Governments are just the implementers of the deep state policy makers, so they won't do anything to destroy it. They might try to deflect if if too many countries try to adopt the policies of Simon Bolivar though.

Washington's attempts to force regime changes, and to promote global eugenics by spreading disease and poisons, causes far more environmental and social destruction. Leave Bitcoin alone, and get rid of the deep state.

I must admit that I've been buying Somerset brie instead of the French stuff. But I couldn't resist this deal - A piece of brie that should have cost £3.11 was marked down to 16 pence. I'm sure that Merkel and co don't realise the damage they are doing to their slave countries. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fmobileimg.com%2Fmypictures%2F_data%2Fi%2Fupload%2F2019%2F04%2F27%2F20190427105440-eeefbb0f-me.jpg&t=663&c=U2FrL-8_guVgxA)

The pain of birth is an important part of building the bond between mother and child. So is breast feeding.

It might have something to do with many users here being young and healthy. When you're using healthcare 15 minutes a year (if that) it might seem better to fork out $200 for that doctor's visit out of pocket instead of paying $1000s in taxes or health insurance premiums.
I'm 77. and I am entitled to free "health care", this includes free drugs. They only times I've visited doctors are to give blood, or for repair jobs due to fighting or motor cycle accidents. I'm never ill, and I don't have colds or any of those other fiddly problems. So what do I attribute this to? I haven't been vaccinated since my pre-teen years, and I don't take any medication whatsoever. This includes pain killers, antacids, anti-biotics or any of the other products that weaken immune system. America would be much healthier if they stopped injecting poisons and disease into babies and adults, produced healthy food without perticides, growth hormones and preservatives, and stopped eating unhealthy food manufactured from diseased animals.

DT is so last week - we've moved on to merits source applications now.
|
|
|
There is no such thing as health care these days, Most "medicine" is allopathic, and is designed to suppress symptoms rather than cure illness. America wont regain its health until it stops poisoning it population with destructive drugs that weaken immune system, and destroy cartilage and other essentials. It is also designed to enrich the globalist pharma companies, and to help them with their global eugenics programmes.
