I've got a wallet with a zero balance - what is that called?

Saatchi id a globalist organisation, so of course they will try to reduce reforestation. Trees stabilise the land and help to resyore th groundwater that is needed for farming. At the moment, the glabalists are trying to reduce farming to create famine,
Don't let them win, plant a tree.

I don't really want to write tutorials, as there are quite a few good and well written ones already. What I would like is for newer members to read the tutorials, and to discuss them with other new members in a thread. The interaction would be interesting, and especially so if local issues and restrictions are introduced. For example, it may not be possible for most Venezuelans to maintain a core wallet. but they shouldn't be deprived of access to Bitcoin because of this.

The worst racists are the anti-racists. I call black people black, and that isn't to indicate they are inferior, but just a basic method of simplifying a description. It's like saying tall or red-haired. Racism is calling them "people of colour", in my opinion that indicates that the user consider the person to be inferior to them, as it can't be considered to be a description.

Historical note- The squiggle is called a tilde, and it comes from the Medieval Latin word titulus. This means "stroke over an abridged word to indicate missing letters". Find out more here - https://www.etymonline.com/word/tildeStroke over an abridged poster to indicate missing content sounds about right to me.

There are some who believe that the Australian and Californian fires were man made, and nothing to do with climate change. This opinion fits comfortably with the current activities to reduce farming to create famine. The new tax laws in Canada are just one example. The changes in banking charges for farming debts are another.

@jetty, if we're not on firstName basis I assume that post wasn't for me 😂
I was wearing my posting familiar's hat, so OP just slipped into the reply. No personal slight intended. By the way - I'm here for the prophet.

I looked through the greyed out (for me) thread he started, and I see a lot of merits were awarded in that thread. Should merits be awarded for posts that encourage posting masturbation?

Additionally, all this drama about energy costs and carbon has its days counted, imo. Renewable energy sources are growing exponentially.
India's shift to Thorium reactors is going to make a big difference in my opinion. Once they have a clean energy source with a surplus, they are likely to use some of this for Bitcoin block mining. Will this affect centralisation? Probably, as I expect the banking world will start to build or buy mining farms as they increase their Bitcoin holdings.

Whilst I mainly agree with the OP, I think that some moderation could do with a bit of fine tuning. The beginners' board contains too many threads about merit, scams and ripping off Bitcoin and the forum for minor earnings in my opinion. If beginner specific threads need to be posted somewhere, then put them on a sub-board, and lets get back to the introduction and training in Bitcoin specific topics for those who want to learn about the Bitcoin economy and its advantages.

maybe you could add some sort of tag to the topics you start
This was really the reason I started this thread. Pretty obviously one of the mods has a problem with my projects, and sometimes this has resulted in my taking a holiday from the forum for a few days. I do tend to have fairly firm views, and my post about wallets is an example. The suggestion that a discussion about wallets would benefit beginners is really good, but I tend to diss everything other thn a core wallet, so it would need to be started by somebody else. The idea would be for 5 or 6 members to form a club, and they would start and maintain threads, and these could be on boards other thn the beginners of course. If one of those could be a mod, then tht would be perfect. A member who doesn't have English as a first language would be useful as well. I own D-8.net, and at the the moment, that resolves to Talk Merit. I could use [D-8] as a simple tag, and list the supporters on the site to make it easy for members to check the legitimacy of starters claims to membership.

How about a hardware wallet vs browser wallet vs exchange vs bt core primer.
I couldn't support that - I'm a hard core Bitcoiner - if you will excuse the pun.

Napoleon - he invented central bank to finance the Napoleonic wars. Without central banks, there wouldn't be fiat currencies, and without fiat currencies, there wouldn't be Bitcoin.

I've had him on ignore for months. I can't remember what prompted that, but it doesn't look as if I have missed anything by ignoring him. I'm surprised that more people don't use the ignore feature if his posting annoys them.

A member created this banner for the forum, and it's one that I use on my sites

Well all the ones I think up seem to be considered as too difficult - like the one that tried to get them to research SHA256. It want to be something that gets away from the "Bitcoin is digital gold" or "Datoshi was an alien" type of thing. Some of the things that I think might be useful to discuss are - Orphan blocks Soft forks How transactions are packed in blocks What happens to rejected transactions
Obviously there are loads more similar topics, but I'm not sure where to draw the line for the beginners' board.

Maybe if half a dozen of us start a project for newbies, the destructive mod who keeps moving my threads will leave it alone, and we can actually try to start a couple of educational projects. I've got the sMerits to award, all I need is some encouragement and some 3M postit stickers to stop the threads migrating.

What's cooler than Bitcoin - OK, I know, Bitcoin is hot. To answer your question, This forum was created by Satoshi to promote Bitcoin. In my opinion it is the only forum that really has the right to use the Bitcoin logo, so why shouldn't it do so?

This is one use for credit cards. It isn't advisable, but they can carry you through a crisis. When you get through this, you should consider building up some savings. I've been picking up Bitcoin so that I have something for a final emergency. Your other alternative is to sell something to raise the cash, or to negotiate delayed payment.

But are the posts about Bitcoin or the Bitcoin Talk forum?
