exactly!!!.. You even said it yourself so don't play all high and mighty.
the guys name is like 'killmark'... yes.. i suspect he is heavily involved with the mafia.......................

(...not like those keyboard warriors would actually get off their asses, vide T. Shavers)

Liability reasons as well as common sense.

The TLD is not an .onion

The admins' identities are public

Does it needs any more explaining?

how come liability isnt brought up wheeeeeennnn

forum accepts advertising money from scamming companies ? or companies who are clearly fucking over customers
or when the forum puts someone in a position of power and they scam, and delete threads which put they in a negative light ? or the forum puts someone in a position of trust and they scam... forum suggests someone starts a pass thru for a ponzi offering 7%.

bloody hell i couldnt restrain myself Sad

killing people != scamming them

besides I think you're exaggerating "a bit"

where does the forum suggest someone start a pass-thru for a ponzi?
2662  Other / Meta / Re: Mark Karpeles deaththreats? on: February 25, 2014, 02:24:26 PM
guy steals $38million...
DO NOT BE MEAN TO HIM!!!!! LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!
classic bitcointalk

It's not "do not be mean to him" but more like "don't threaten to kill him"

find a different forum you're into stuff like that

Wouldn't hurt to b a bit more specific about the type of services that you can offer.
2664  Other / Meta / Re: Open Question: What Mt Gox discussions are allowed? on: February 25, 2014, 12:57:44 PM
Currency exchange is only for... currency exchange Wink Exchange service talk belongs in Service Discussion.

General discussion about the Bitcoin ecosystem that doesn't fit better elsewhere. News, the Bitcoin community, innovations, the general environment, etc. Discussion of specific Bitcoin-related services usually belongs in other sections.
emphasis mine

some topics about Gox may remain in Bitcoin Discussion because:

a) they have not yet been moved/noticed/reported;
or
b) they belong there (most don't);

I think most get moved there, especially when they're about its service problems. Maybe if the threads are about how the general gox fiasco affects other aspects of Bitcoin etc then they stay in the Bitcoin forum?

Yes, such threads may sometimes belong in Bitcoin Discussion, though there shouldn't be too many of them. When SR was hacked some topics about them were being moved to Politics & Society, Off-topic or Service Discussion, but a few could remain because:

Yeah that was the topic, for some reason he wanted me to trash it, and seeing he won't get what he asked for, unable to see a connection between my forum handle and my actions, he proceeded to post half a dozen spammy posts.

he may be online but he is also malevolent

2667  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 20 BTC for Investment. Will pay 30 BTC back within 10 Months! on: February 20, 2014, 03:13:17 PM
Unfortunately I can't offer much as a collateral, but surely I will provide my true identity and the right to seize a large part of my income until my debt is paid back.
I also will put aside my rewards as a reserve until my debts are settled. And there is also the possibility to sell my shares on the farm.

Then you should at least state your location. Although I don't think you aren't going to find anyone willing to lend you the BTC, if you are willing to offer shares on your farm, and if you're claiming they will be able to seize a part of your income, it will probably have to be someone within driving distance from you, so they can investigate what farm you own and where you work, and then maybe decide to draw up a legally valid contract.

Given the volatility of BTC, IMHO 10 months is too long.
2668  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: February 17, 2014, 06:36:57 PM
So I logged into Gox today and when I go to my funding options, I get this message:

Your account has been restricted from accessing funding options. Please contact support@mtgox.com for additional information on why your account has been restricted.

I was pretty surprised, I know they wanted to stop BTC, but I'm not allowed to withdraw fiat or deposit fiat? I've always been completely verified in good standing- so I don't really get what the problem is. It seems pretty dramatic that I'm forbidden for accessing my funding options all together.

Have you ever used Bitistant?

Yes I did use BitInstant back in the day when they were functioning, do you think that has anything to do with it?

Yes. Read this:

Any plans to add BTC/PLN currency pair?

It got quite a lot of votes in this poll:

2670  Other / Meta / Re: End of newbie restrictions; ban changes on: February 16, 2014, 08:02:57 PM
If that is supposed to reflect total time spent on the forum since registration it can't possibly be correct? I must have spent at least 500 hours reading on here since 2011.

There was a period of about a year or so when the forum was hacked and passwords compromised when I didn't log into my account, and occasionally I don't login depending on what computer/device I am on, but it still has to be far more than 34-35 hours in total?

Not very many I suspect...

It won't count your time online if you aren't logged in.

Where is the marketplace for these old accounts? Realistically how many of us old members that have been involved with Bitcoin for several years could there be that would be willing to sell our accounts on here for a couple of BTC?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=250369.0

or off-site

though I suspect most accounts were acquired through hacked email accounts, or due to registrants' password reuse.

2672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia on a donation drive again - no Bitcoin still. on: February 16, 2014, 06:25:17 PM
Neither EFF is accepting them, which is even more worrysome.

They do:
https://supporters.eff.org/donate

They stopped accepting them in June 2011, and resumed accepting them in May 2013:
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2011/06/eff-and-bitcoin
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2013/05/thank-you-bitcoin-community

But we're going off-topic.

Wikipedia doesn't need your money.

Can I ask why Date Registered is not shown next to the username?

I have been involved in Bitcoin and a member of this forum since mid-2011 and just because I'm not very talkative I'm still considered a "newbie". It doesn't really bother me that much personally, but when I read certain threads I often have to click the username to see when a poster first registered on the forum.

With time and experience comes perspective, at least in some discussions that keep coming back again and again, more so than with post count IMO...

By default, only Activity is shown because it is more important than the registration date; you can easily buy a scarcely used account that was registered in 2011.

I'm not sure you know how the Activity is calculated so take a read:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597

BTW. You are not only not very talkative, but you also don't seem to read much:

Was theymos able to see any of your NDA'd code/portfolio?
2675  Economy / Lending / Re: 55 BTC 12 months Tripling your BTC 1=3 on: February 12, 2014, 06:58:38 PM
OK, I got his ID, bank statement, address, PESEL, REGON and NIP numbers, checked it with Main Statistics Institute (looks OK), and saw his face on google hangout and it matches his ID.

He also asked me for my bank account number or paypal and wanted to send me 1 PLN but I'm not giving him my info.

2676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATMs and fake money problem? on: February 12, 2014, 02:57:03 PM
As far as I know Lamassu has some mechanisms enabling it to discern counterfeit money from real money, not sure about other alternatives.

2677  Economy / Lending / Re: 55 BTC 12 months Tripling your BTC 1=3 on: February 12, 2014, 02:35:46 PM
I can loan 20 BTC for 877 LTC collateral. If you're serious, PM me for the deposit address.
Please wait until I verify me on Polish moderator. I want to everyone supporting me, was sure that will get his BTC Backx3

I responded to your PM, if you really want to do it, PM me again, two caveats however: I don't and won't use Skype so you'll need to figure out a different way to do it if you'd like me to confirm that your face matches your ID; no sane person is going to lend you a single bitcoin, let alone 55 of them on dox as the only form of collateral.
2678  Local / Polski / Re: Kto z naszych spanikował, kto wytzrymał, kto osiwiał? :) on: February 12, 2014, 01:17:36 PM

2680  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: i am transfer bitcoins from cryptsy to btc-e and i not see it on: February 10, 2014, 02:56:32 PM
It took me 9 confirmations today (instead of the regular 3) but I was looking at blockchain.info, I think btc-e is simply not as well connected with other nodes as blockchain.info.

Really?
A node that does not see a transaction with one or two confirmations is not "not as well connected", it's essentially not connected to the blockchain at all...

Onkel Paul

Yeah, it shouldn't be like that and it's probably a problem on their end because it usually doesn't take so long.
