ok we have newyork, sanfransisco as the main bitcoin hubs of USA, i think amsterdam is the bitcoin capital of europe. and looks like brighton will be the bitcoin capital of UK

Sorry mate, London is calling.

Even the tramps squatting in abandoned buildings in London are using bitcoin. Seriously, I saw it in the Telegraph(I think it was the Telegraph anyway, anyone else remember this story?).

Pretty sure he didn't invent MDMA. He was one of the people who popularized it by publishing his experiments with it, but he didn't invent it.

Browser exploit.

Virus/Trojan.
2665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Donations for Shulgin - the godfather of MDMA on: May 23, 2013, 07:43:20 AM
Considering Silk Road exists, it would be pretty surprising if a significant amount of bitcoins aren't raised for this guy.
2666  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs on: May 21, 2013, 07:31:24 PM
Complicated question.

They probably aren't a full fledged scam, but they consistently act extremely shady and have no problem screwing over customers.

If you order now by the time you get your product the mining difficulty might be so high that it will take a very long time to recoup your investment.

If you buy someone's pre order on ebay you'll end up paying a lot more and you won't have any idea when you'll get it. If you get lucky and get it very soon, you could make back the investment quickly.
2667  Other / Off-topic / Re: Another PayPal Rant (FUCK EM) on: May 21, 2013, 07:23:26 PM
Weird, you see certiain ebayers selling coins (casascius) over and over again and they don seem to have a problem. Its like they randomly select people at will to fuck with.

Just doesnt make sense at all.

That is one of the major reasons PayPal sucks. They love to randomly fuck with people and do it inconsistently.

Laughing all the way from the tumbler to the bank. Did you see the truck photo? Sweet truck worth about $60k fully loaded.

I did see that. Amazing how he just got away with it all.

No, he was a true entrepreneur. He saw a window of opportunity and took it. How many people do you suppose Gates stepped over and stole from to get to the top (remember Netscape Navigator).

Many people were pissed because they fell for the bullshit. I spotted what he was and who he was long ago. I wrote a post against Clipse, Pirate and Goat (as CornedBeefHash) calling them out and debated with all if them. In my view they proved themselves to be disreputable in that thread so I never trusted them and never lost a dime to any of them. I can't feel sorry for anyone that can't make good decisions, disregard advice and lose money because of it. gmaxwell also spoke out against them constantly on irc (in that thread too) and no one listened. You reap what you sew. Trying to get rich too quick might just make you poor quick instead.

Well yeah, sure. It was pretty clearly bs from the start.

But what I find amazing is despite the massive amount of money involved not ONE person took matters in their own hands. I mean at this point we're talking maybe 50 million dollars.

Can we get a picture of the shirt you were wearing?

I want to see this smoothie shirt...was it a picture of a smoothie or text?

When the reservations?

What time to?

If you order now it will probably be a very long time.

2677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think this is proof ripple will ultimately end bitcoin on: May 21, 2013, 02:20:12 PM
THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, THE FEDERAL RESERVE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND THE UNITED STATES TREASURY HAVE RAIDED MORE THAN A DOZEN KEY BITCOIN INDIVIDUALS AND IS ABOUT TO ANNOUNCE A FULL SCALE BITCOIN CONFISCATION FOR MONEY LAUNDERING

This is true, kids. The Man just came to my house, told me to put my wallet.dat on a floppy, and walked out with it. Sad

Don't copy that floppy!
2678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think this is proof ripple is trying to end bitcoin on: May 21, 2013, 10:08:47 AM
It is such a laughably bad attempt that the only thing it proves is there are just as many idiots in ripple as there are in bitcoin.

At one time, I had over a quarter of a million dollars worth of bitcoins on IW in three wallets: 1000 BTC; 123.xxx or 132.xxx BTC (honestly don't remember, but submitted the 123.xxx BTC amount to be fair, not knowing what the xxx...'s are); and .84 BTC.

Wow, I remember you mentioning you had a nice "nest egg" on there...jeez.

Hope it all works out for you.
2680  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Theymos: What the fuck is up with BFL and TradeFortress? on: May 20, 2013, 06:14:15 PM
Actually, because losing $1100+ is probably not what you want to see happen, I've transferred your 10.15 Bitstamp BTCs.

Give me an address to send your 10.15 back, because right now if you check your Ripple wallet you shouldn't have any bitstamp IOUs Tongue

This is exactly what I wanted to see happen, and exactly what was supposed to happen.

I trusted you for 100 BTC. You have withdrawn 10.15 BTC to blockchain. You owe me 10.15 BTC. We have successfully demonstrated how ripple works.

You of course owe me 10.15 BTC, and you can pay me that back through ripple at any point, I'd prefer it in ripple, rather than blockchain.

Ripple just models real life, only trust people or entities you view as trustworthy. I decided to trust you, and I'm sure you'll want to keep your trust and reputation over the coming weeks and months.

Still unsure what your point is?

I can't believe you just risked 10 bitcoins to prove your point, lol. Quite a pair on you.
