2681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: July 07, 2021, 02:07:03 PM
Who do you think will win the TI slot for EU and China?

I'm rooting for OG and Elephant Gaming but Nigma and E-Home are so damn strong base on there recent matches against my favorite team for this qualifier. Elephant gaming is the old roster of LGD and I want them to fight OG on TI as rematch.

I also would like to see OG participating in the TI i mean after all they are the defending and back to back champions in most other sports the defending champion is qualified for he next tournament automatically but sadly not in Dota. I think the chances for OG to qualify for the TI are very slim though. The participating teams in The WEU qualifiers are very strong. Nigma has probably the biggest chances but Team Liquid, Tundra and Vikin.gg are also very good teams so it will be very tough for OG to prevail here.
At the moment OG is playing against Viking.gg an OG already lost the first match. If they lose this series they will move down to the lower bracket and then they would need to win 6 series in a row.
2682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin, Dogecoin Gain After Musk's Tweets, But Will There Be Another Bull Run? on: July 07, 2021, 01:59:48 PM
Dogecoin, which started as a meme currency but received a lot of support from the billionaire tycoon in the past few months also gained in value. But this positive trend in the cryptocurrency market is no guarantee that it will see the bull run, which started at the beginning of this year, again so soon. At most, the value addition to the price of Bitcoin and other digital currencies over the past two days most likely seems temporary.

What are your thoughts about these 2 coins' future and is it possible that Musk will decide to the hype on something else also? Green coins are getting more popular. Why doesn't he mention any of them? Which one do you think needs such a kick?

Maybe another bullrun starts soon maybe we are heading into multiple year long bear-market...no one knows for sure, except from maybe the biggest whales that can manipulate the markets. I am pretty sure though that Elon Musk tweets will not have much impact on the price of any cryptocurrency anymore. The more he tweets about the smaller the impact of these tweets will be and rightfully so, in the end he is just a guy with a lot of money why should he be able to dictate the directions of the markets so easily. Maybe if he makes a big crypto related announcement for one of his companies then it will have a big impact again, but i can't see such an announcement coming soon.
2683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 07, 2021, 12:51:51 PM
Many will be betting on England for today's game. It is a great achievement for Denmark to have reached the halffinal. I don't think many people expected Denmark to get this far. I hope it will be an exciting game.

I already thought that Denmark would lose in their matches against Wales and the Czech Republic and i was wrong both times. This time though i am pretty sure that Denmark will finally be eliminated, even though i hope that they will beat England and move on to the final. I think that the english team plus the crazy English audience in Wembley is just to much for the danish team to handle. I don't think that the Danes have no chance at all but they surely are the underdog, but if they play well and if they can avoid falling behind early on then i think the chances of Denmark raise from minute to minute. If England scores an early goal then it's over for Denmark.
2684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you find good ICO's and new projects in general? on: July 07, 2021, 12:45:33 PM
I always hear about people making these insane profits from crypto by investing on release. But how exactly do you find legit ones from the fakes? I was told there are mostly purely fakes.

Any advice is appreciated.

To make really good profit you need to know about good projects very early. As soon as the first news starts circulating that people have made a lot of profit with Project XX, the ship has sailed, at least if you want to make short-term profits. If you prefer long-term investments, you can invest a little later, even if some people have already made x10 or more with a project. Of course, this statement doesn't apply to all the meme coins, because 99% of them are dead again after a few weeks.
So where to get those information? I personally would not trust any influencers on social media. Most of the time they just shill the tokens that they own themself to dump on their poor audience. I am part of a pre-sale group for almost a year now and after a while, you will notice that certain members often give good tips and are often right with their predictions, while others only want to shill their own coins. As soon as you notice someone like that, you can follow their tips.
2685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 06, 2021, 04:14:24 PM
My guess, Schick and Ronaldo will win.

There will be only one winner for the Euro Golden Boot and Ronaldo will win in case of tie because total number of assist will be the tie breaker for it. So in this case, Ronaldo had 1 assist while Schick had none but Sterling could be one of the potential candidate to win as well though considering that he currently has 3 goals and 1 assist with 2 games left to go

Im not a fan of Sterling but I personally think he has the potential to score against Denmark though

I did not know that there can only be 1 winner of the golden boot and that there can't be a shared first place. At first glance it makes sense though that the first place is decided by the number of assists if the number of goals is identical because assists are almost as important as goals. If you look at these tournament though than i think Schick would have deserved the golden boot, just because of the fact that 3 out of those 5 Ronaldo goals were penalties. Don't get me wrong goals from penalties count just as much as "normal" goals but they are just way easier to score. I also don't think that sterling will manage to score 2 more goals.
2686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Number of altcoins keep increasing! on: July 06, 2021, 04:07:21 PM
I see alot of altcoins and tokens been introduced into the market every day and I keep wondering if that is how this industry will keep growing.  The number of altcoins does not translate to increase in the over all market capitalization of the cryptocurrencies market and it that means that some of the coins we currently have in the market is not needed!

I am really not one of those bitcoin evangelist who says that every other coin than bitcoin is a sh*it-coin and is not needed but i think that at least 90% of those 10.772 cryptos that are listed on coinmarketcap are absolutely unnecessary and therefore also not good for the market in my opinion. If i had to guess then i would say that at least 1000-2000 meme-coins have been launched within the last 2 months. The reason for that is simple, Shiba Inu was a huge success at first and then some other meme-coins that were introduced right after that did also quite well and therefore a lot of people are tempted to create their own coin because it is not expensive.
2687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 06, 2021, 11:33:59 AM
What a surprise, Alexander Zverev has been eliminated. Federer plays his match confidently in 3 sets it seems. Medvedev's match is interrupted but it is not an easy match for him and he still has to make an effort. Djokovic also won his match confidently in 3 sets.

I watched the game of Zverev vs Aliasimme and it really was a weird match to watch. Everything went normal and well for Zverev until suddenly his second serve was non existent anymore therefore Aliasimme was able to win the first two sets. After that i was pretty sure that the match would end after 3 sets with a clear win for Aliasimme but then somehow Zverev was able to recover and managed to win Set 3 and 4 pretty clearly. The fifth set was again hard-fought but in the end Aliasimme won it. Zverev made a total of 20 double faults in this match, which is simply far too many to win, even if you are the better player. Aliasimme took his chances and achieved a huge success.
2688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why women are the minority in crypto land? on: July 06, 2021, 11:25:40 AM
It's yet the day where most users in crypto land are composed of males. Women are the minority, since most of them express little-to-no interest in crypto/Blockchain tech. I find this to be odd, considering that women are as interconnected as males in today's digital era. If they use a payment processor like PayPal, why won't they use crypto/Blockchain tech?

Thoughts? Huh

There are two main reasons for that in my opinion. The first is that women are generally not as risk-averse as men, for biological reasons. Even when you look at investments in traditional stocks, women are less represented than men, and since the crypto market is even more risky than normal stocks, it's no wonder that there are relatively few women around. The other reason is the interest in technology and IT in general. You said women are just as connected in the digital world as men, which is true, but just because they use these devices in their daily lives doesn't mean they are also interested in the underlying technology. The majority of IT students and programmers are still male and that's likely to remain the case because there just aren't that many women naturally interested in it. Even all those advertising campaigns for women in IT-Jobs can't change that.
2689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 06, 2021, 10:03:54 AM
To be honest, I don't like Spain's game with their many passes without moving forward. In the performance of Xavi and Iniesta, this game looked perfect, but now it kills all interest in the game. Therefore, I will be rooting for Italy. Let Italy and Denmark play in the final. There will be more movement, emotion and drama.

It is kinda weird how the state of the football has changed within the last 15 years or so. First Barcelona under Pep guardiola and also the spanish national team completely dominated football for a few years with their Tiki Taka Style. Back then everybody thought that this style of football was pretty much unbeatable.
Afterwards came the era of the extremely high and early pressing of the opponent to get the ball back as soon as possible, which was also good to look at but of course also very risky because even the defenders were positioned so high that one mistake created a big opportunity for the enemy team.
Then in the last world cup of 2018 teams began to play more defensively and cautious again. France perfected that style of football and won the world cup with it but i also have to say that this kind of football is not that interesting to watch, England also plays the same way now.
Surprisingly Italy plays the most offensive football of all remaining teams now.
2690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Baby Doge? on: July 06, 2021, 09:51:01 AM
Yesterday, as always, Elon Musk tweets again about a coin called Baby Doge coin. We saw earlier that he tweeted about Shib token and we can see SHIB is now  in 28 number position of coinmarketcap. What do you think about Baby Doge coin?  Will it be in a better position like Doge and SHIB? Does will Binance also list Baby Doge?

Elon Musk Tweet - https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1410529698497630212?s=19

I would not care about those tweets of elon musk anymore. I mean its a normal human reaction that if someone happen regularly then it is nothing special anymore because people get used to it. The same applies to those tweets of elon musk. His first tweet a few months ago that was commending Cryptocurrencies as a whole and especially Dogecoin was a big surprise to anyone and let the price of Dogecoin (and most other cryptos too) go up like crazy. Later on he made some negative tweets about Dogecoin, that it is just a hustle and the prices dropped again. Now i think we are in a state where his tweets won't have a real effect anymore on the prices.
2691  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: [Mining] Block Collider - Overline - Mineable multi-chain protocol / FAQ on: July 05, 2021, 11:06:57 AM

As a formative technology, Overline’s wireless hardware will be the most demanded product ever released in the blockchain space."  Cheesy

2692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: July 04, 2021, 06:35:25 PM
So easy race for Verstappen he even won with an extra not needed pit stop done to score the fastest lap and get 1 extra point.
Perez what a dumbass making the same move 2 times for 2 penalties versus Leclerc.

Good race for Norris too and Russell, these 2 kids will have a bright future.

Yeah todays race seemed really easy for Verstappen in an interview after the race Helmut Marko from red bull even said that Verstappen did not have to go close to his limits over the entire race. He was able to build up a lead of almost 30 seconds and save his tyres at the same time. If the situation in Silverstone will be the same as in the last 3 races then i think that Mercedes will probably not manage to get on the same level than Red Bull in this season.
The second move of Perez vs Leclerc was totally fair though in my opinion so maybe the first penalty was justified but the second one definitely not. Everyone of the officials said the same in the interviews after the race. LeClerc can not just drive into a corner on the outside and expect the other driver to make room for him so he can overtake. The one who is inside usually "owns" the corner.
2693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth buying other cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin? on: July 04, 2021, 06:28:07 PM
I heard about Bitcoin and ethereum around the same time. Bitcoin was I believe around $15k and ETH was below $200. I couldn't afford to buy 1btc so I didn't buy any and I didn't buy ethereum because I believed Bitcoin was the only genuine crypto currency to buy. But since my discovery of this forum I have found members who believe different. Looking back I see I have lost on both fronts and wasted an opportunity. So my question is this which is more important factor to consider before buying a coin, do you buy because of the technology of the project and what it has to offer, the utility of the token or the news?

You will find a lot of users in here that are bitcoin enthusiasts and also bitcoin evangelists and are saying that bitcoin is the only legit cryptocurrency and every other cryptocurrency except from bitcoin is a sh*itcoin. I disagree with this statement i mean why would someone say that Ethereum is a sh*it coin in 2021 anymore? There are so many projects that are running on the Ethereum Blockchain already and everyday there are new projects emerging. The whole hype with the Defi projects could only develop because Ethereum has the smart contract functionality that makes those Defi features like yield farming and staking even possible.
I always looke at the whitepaper of the project, the team, the use-case and also the tokenomics. If all those 4 points look good to me i may invest into that project.
2694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero: A good long-term investment? on: July 04, 2021, 10:57:10 AM
Monero is one of the best (if not the best) privacy-oriented cryptocurrencies in the world. Anonymity is enforced by default, making sure your transactions are safe from prying eyes. It's no wonder why XMR is the top privacy coin in market cap. Competitors like DASH, Zcash, BEAM, and even Grin don't stand a chance against Monero's ever-growing user base and mainstream demand. Yet, non-privacy coins are faring better on the market with higher gains within such a short amount of time.

I'm wondering why hasn't Monero taken off yet? Do you think government regulations have affected Monero's ability to go higher in price? If not, then what could be the reason? Is Monero a good long-term investment? Or are there better choices on the market (besides Bitcoin and Ethereum)? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

As you say monero is probably the biggest and most well known privacy coin out there and as far as i know also widely used in the darknet for not-so-legal transactions that is where the main demand comes from i guess and of course from "normal" users that just don't want their transaction data to be publically available for the rest of time in the depths of the internet.
Regarding the price: Monero is one of those coins that did not benefit that much from the last bull run as it only barely managed to reach a new ATH, where other altcoins like ETH, BNB and many others managed to reach prices that were a multitude of the last ATH from the 2018 bullrun. In my opinion the reason for that is that during the last bull run the focus was on Defi projects and privacy coins were just not in the center of attention.
2695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 04, 2021, 10:51:35 AM
English vs Denmark, Spain vs Italy. The EURO 2020 semi-final matches fulfilled expectations, despite the world champions France, Portugal, Germany and the Netherlands, as well as Croatia, the world champions runner-up, failed to prevail. It is interesting to note that all teams from what was called "group of death" have already been eliminated from the competition. However, England has reached the semi-finals without conceding a goal, with an impressive 8:0 goal difference.

In my opinion we have one seminfinal now with Spain vs Italy that is not really a surprise as both of the teams were part favorites for the championship for many people even before the tournament started and both managed to live up to that status until now. Spain had some problems in the group stage and it was also very possible that they were removed from the tournament there but they manged to win their last game there and now made it into the semi final. Italy on the other hand is probably the team that showed the strongest performances in over the whole tournament which great defending but also a strong offensive which is not unusual for a italian team.
Whoever advances from the semi-final match England vs. Denmark will be the underdog in the final.
2696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we live without btc? on: July 03, 2021, 10:55:25 PM
Can we live Without btc?
I think we Can so then we Don't need it.

Of course we can live without bitcoin just as we can live without smartphones, curved OLED TV's and social media but all those things are part of most people daily lives. I know you can't compare those things one to one because almost everyone is watching TV and calling people but only a fraction of the population is engaged with cryptos. But even within the crypto space i think we don't really need bitcoin anymore because to be honest nowadays there are other projects out there that are just offering way more like Ethereum, as you already mentioned. Does this mean though that will disappear? 100% not bitcoin was the first of it's kind and paved the way for all the other cryptos and will most likely be the no. 1 crypto for a long time if not for ever.
2697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: July 03, 2021, 02:14:44 PM
The results of today are very difficult to assess for me, many teams have tested the new tire for Silverstone and have tested on the new red (C5) long runs. Tomorrow the weather should be better and sunnier and it should come only on Sunday the rain. The weather will definitely make it more exciting than last weekend. Maybe there are other tire strategies on Sunday?

1      Max Verstappen   Red Bull      1.03.720
2          Lando Norris   McLaren      1.03.768
3      Sergio Perez   Red Bull      1.03.990
4      Lewis Hamilton   Mercedes      1.04.014
5      Valtteri Bottas   Mercedes      1.04.049
6      Pierre Gasly   AlphaTaur     1.04.107
7      Yuki Tsunoda   AlphaTauri      1.04.273
8      Sebastian Vettel   Aston Martin 1.04.570
9      George Russell   Williams      1.04.591
10      Lance Stroll   Aston Martin 1.04.618

Great qualifying today with a very impressive performance of Lando Norris as he is on P2 with only 0.0048 seconds behind Verstappen. Perez on P3 and the two mercedes will only start from position 4 and 5. I don't think though that Norris can hold this position in the race tomorrow as the race speed of the Mclaren will probably be slower than the one of Red Bull and Mercedes. His teammate Ricciardo starts from P13 which makes me feel a little sad for Ricciardo as he seems like a nice guy and always performed very well too except for this season. Sebastian Vettel managed to beat Lance Stroll but may receive a penalty because he ruined the lap of Alonso because he didn't see him.
2698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 03, 2021, 10:11:02 AM
An early congratulations to Fnatic, they are the first team to get into the grand finals. Although not yet sure but this is why I'm counting them to get that slot.
Meanwhile at the low bracket, later it's going be TNC and Boom to match and whoever wins goes to the grand finals against Fnatic.

Well it's TNC Predator vs Fnatic now in the grand finals. This means two of the top 3 teams of this qualifying tournament in terms of DPC Points lived up to their roles as favorites and made it into the grand final. Only Neon disappointed maybe a bit as they went out quite early in R4 of the lower bracket against Execration but their series vs Fnatic was pretty close and they lost with 1-2. In the grand finals that are running right now TNC Predator are the favorites according to the bookmakers which is not that surprising as they played pretty well in the Animajor and only lost to the later finalist EG there.
2699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happen if US ban cryptocurrencies? on: July 03, 2021, 09:51:06 AM
Do you guys think one day USA may ban cryptocurrencies? If yes what would happen? I think it's not totally impossible and that would be a global crash on prices.

I also think that it would definitely have an impact on the price and by that i mean a negative impact of course, but to be honest i don't think that the effects would be to big. Just look at the recent news of the new rules in china where they banned the mining facilities the price went down quite a bit yes but i did not really dump into oblivion because the crypto space is not the same anymore as it was 3 years ago. It has matured quite a bit, that's why such news don't have that big of an impact anymore. If you look at the news that el salvador now accepts bitcoin as an official currency. This news would have been huge a few years ago, but now it did not really have an impact on the market.
2700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 02, 2021, 09:49:19 PM
Shame for Switzerland, really bad penalties from Schar, Akanji and Vargas. Sommer saved 2 after saving 10 shots before that, I thought it would be enough - all Swiss players shot them really well against France.

Yeah totally true after busquets missed the very first penalty of the shootout i was already sure that Switzerland would go through because of the high confidence they should already had at that point after the shootout against france but then everything came completely different. I am always cautious with blaming players to have shot a poor penalty i mean in the end i would say most penalties can be saved if the goalkeeper is anticipating correctly and dives into the right corner. I would say only every 3rd penalty is really shot that well that a keeper has 0 chance to save it.
Anyway it was still a great tournament of switzerland and everyone who placed a bet that they would manage to achieve a draw against france and italy after 90 minuts made some crazy profits.
