Well that was fun, the $9,400 bull trap is finally playing out that I've been banging on about for the past week Roll Eyes

Now to see which pattern plays out... not long to go now I don't think, about 10 days max by my estimates:

Something's gotta give soon, the lower the volatility gets, the larger the break-out is the likelihood:

Good call.

 Now, when moon?!

August 12th we will begin the trajectory to the moon. Don't ask me from what price, could be anywhere between $6-12K at this rate.

Alright.  Continuing hodl pattern around earth.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still sideways... currently $9286USD/$12603CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Borrrrrrring. C'mon Bitcoin, let's rise up.

all we have to do is stop testing for this to go away.

Everybody knows it's just a scam fabricated by the MSM to scare people into giving their hard-earned money to greedy doctors and transnational mask manufacturing corporations.

Not to mention those greedy microbreweries who converted their production from shitty tasting beer to shitty tasting hand sanitizer.

Jesus Christ. Over 1,100 COVID19 infections today in Dallas County alone, crushing previous records.

This is getting real bad, folks.

You should know they changed the criteria for counting Covid19 cases recently in Texas.  It's only as bad as it ever was.  Let me find you a relevant link.

Edit: http://www.co.ector.tx.us/page/ector.CoronavirusCOVID19

Positive cases reported now include confirmed cases + probable cases.

So, in the meantime I thought I would fire up an old bitcoin wallet from 2014 and see just what I was spending coins on.

Some gems include:

Wii U console: .5 bitcoins, $4,600 in today's money
Delivered Pizza including tip: .02btc,  $184
Towels for the house: .4 bitcoin, $3680

While it is true I have been able to enjoy these things for the past 6 years, they did wind up costing me a lot. Something to keep in mind if you sell your bitcoins today, in 6 years you might be thinking "I could have bought xxxxx with that money"

I bought a WiiU with cash a few years back... WiiUsed it very little.   I wish I had spent that money on Bitcoin!

After almost 3 years on these boards, I've never really dared to take the leap to visiting this thread. I'm wondering how much time I'd need to start reading the WO from the very first post all the way to the last one. I'm also wondering if it'd deliver me inner peace or other life-changing insights.

I sense the seducing perfume of a challenge...

I'm of the opinion that this thread would deliver a life-changing insult before a life-changing insight.  If you persist, you might get a hat though Smiley

Why do so many people in here have hats as their avatar

A lot of us are ashamed of our hair loss from years of crazy bitcoin price swings, but not silly enough to try a combover.

I feel like my hat needs an update... hmm maybe it just needs to be thrown in the wash?

You throw away your hat, we throw away YOU. Angry Grin

I didn't say throw it AWAY!  I said throw it in the wash! It's kinda smelly by now.

This will prevent you from taking it off even if just for a wash.

Best ever.  Be soaked in merits... Smiley

This hat has the most personal touch of any hat I've designed to date.  After searching the entire internet for the perfect 'caps lock' key or combination lock picture to no avail, I decided to use one of my own - that lock is the one I use on my luggage when I travel (it has many air miles on it).  I set the tumblers to 777 for luck, placed it on one of my hats at just the right angle and took a picture.  I must admit I was really happy with the way it came out  Grin

Thanks for the merit bath!  Now I just have to figure out how to properly ration them so I don't run out just as the best post of the week appears.

Private keys are generated by a complex mathematical algorithm outside the blockchain network. The public key and address are then generated from the private key automatically during each transaction. Both keys are stored inside a wallet file and managed by the wallet software.
Rerence is here: https://hackernoon.com/bitcoin-safety-a-guide-on-how-to-keep-your-wallet-and-private-keys-secure-94cf7b7f4a00#:~:text=Private%20keys%20are%20generated%20by,managed%20by%20the%20wallet%20software.

So here the software is your bitcoin core.

a $92K annual drawdown on $2.3M. Not shabby, but neither is it anywhere near what I was making when I was a wage slave. And I ain't typical retirement age yet, so allowances need be made to extend the principal that many more years.
[...]

I recall that you (picnic bear) and I had already had a variation of this conversation regarding having some enjoyment in work, and surely there is going to be individual variation in that regard, and even rewards from work that are not necessarily feeling like they are slave labor. Accordingly, there are reasons why some multi-millionaires and even billionaires will continue to involve themselves in money making endeavors, even though they really do not need to be occupying their time with such business arrangements and some of the work that might come out of juggling various kinds of business relationships, so in that regard, having fuck you status can be played at higher levels, too in which wealthy persons who chooses projects based on personal enjoyment, status, purpose and sometimes will be in a position to can business relations or others to go fly a kite if they do not want to play ball with the wealthy person... of course, assuming that no contractual obligation(s) had been created... and sometimes being the one with more money can sometimes allow for the breaking of contracts without really suffering meaningful negative financial consequences, too.

[...]

Spot on!

Steve Jobs once said: "For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: 'If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?' And whenever the answer has been 'No' for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something."

Calling yourself a wage slave for too long means you really need to change something in your life. Not all people can achieve getting enjoyment from work. Some are incapable, others lazy, others just unlucky, although I don't really believe luck can fully define someone. One can make his/her own luck in life, or he/she falls into the "incapable" category. But at least you've got to try. If you fail, try again, and if you fail again, maybe you're not able to do it, or you need to re-evaluate your goals, and Bitcoin can help in such cases, but not everyone is in this situation. Not everyone is a wage slave.

Reaching "fuck you" richness status should not necessarily mean quitting work, or stopping doing what you're doing. It could mean that you are now able to do more things that were out of your reach before, feeling more secure about your financial situation, enjoying your hobbies and leisure time to the maximum, but continue working on the field you enjoy, and even be much more productive and much more involved now, keeping your brain active and your intellectual abilities in top shape. Many of the super-rich personalities of the world are workaholics, because it's their work that keeps them alive.

I wonder... or is it perhaps because they said "No" to the mirror too many days in a row and failed to do something about it?  I'm pretty certain that the world didn't need a twat scented candle.
Also, I wonder if old Steve had asked himself, 'If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?' before walking to the mirror if he could have achieved so much more with all that extra time?

edit: added a link in case the world really does need that twat scented candle.

Majority of sicknesses including Covid is nothing else as wrong nutrition.
Daily intake of about 70% alkaline and 30% acidic food and anyone is as strong as can be. Flu, Covid, Common Cold.... not a worry.

Like a 2 component glue if mix according to instruction its hold well, if mixed wrong and 90% hardener is used or something crazy it will break at first sign of stress.

Acidic food: Seafood, Meat, Cheese, Grains (Wheat, Rye, Rice..), pasteurized food, Milk, Pale Beer, Carbonated drinks (sparkling mineral water, Coke...)
Alkaline  food: Fruit, Vegetables, Herbs/Spices, natural fermented food, Honey, Some Nuts (Chest, Pine, Coco, Hazel, Macadamia), Wine, Draft Beer, Stout Beer, Coffee, Tea...

What else is Acidic, Face Mask as exhaled CO2 (acidic) is partly re-inhaled because mask prevent it from being proper exchanged for fresh oxygen.

Healthy blood pH is 7.35 - 7.45 slight alkali, 7 is neutral, 0 max acid, 14 max basic (alkali), log scale

WTF kind of weird science are you on?  Last time I checked, the neutral level on the pH scale was 7.  Anything below was considered acidic and anything above was considered alkaline.  ALL fruits and vegetables have a pH of less than 7, most fruits are extremely acidic.  Did you just make this up today?  This is surreal.  Please stop "helping" us.

N.B. It's a good idea to eat fruits and veggies. Do not ingest glue and/or hardener or subject yourself to stresses that will break you.
disclaimer: I am not a pharmacist.

Isn't pseudoscience hilarious?

What's next? Colloidal silver cure-alls? Turmeric with cider vinegar for longevity? The anti-carcinogenic effects of chanting mantras?

I was already laughing before I even got to the part about fruits being alkaline. Lawl.

I think I prefer actual double blind controlled experimentation, analysis of the microbiological chemistry of pathogens, and development of blockers for necessary chemicals required by these pathogens.

Yes, good diet is important but that has nothing to do with pH hocus-pocus. It has more to do with a good variety of fresh foods in moderation, with minimal processing.

I am still laughing, will be for a little while.
Calling a multi year scientific study with 100000 participants, pseudoscience is someone who lost track of life and reality.

I must have missed the part where you were writing about potential renal acid load

If something is considered normal there is no need to special mention it.
The same way when someone talks about cryptocurrency, the is no need to mention Bitcoin, it is the metric and not Dogecoin.
If someone wants to apply a scale made for battery acid on food he certainly can do so if he wants.

Common sense also means if healthy blood/body is on alkaline side of things the total daily food/drink intake must also be higher alkaline.
The most alkaline food I know Marmite/Vegemite...with -41.9  (dried or dehydrated Chives is -50.6, food?)
What politicians do with food what is available for more than 100 years?
Lets starve some more brain-cells of vital oxygen and recycle CO2, corrupt politicians know whats best (for the own pocked).

Okay, I was trying to be nice.  Potential renal acid load is not "normal" and my sense is telling me that neither are you.

The pH scale was developed in Carlsberg Research Laboratory so they could brew better beer.  The first electronic device for measuring pH was developed at CalTech for Sunkist growers in the US; they wanted something to test the pH of the lemons in the field before picking them...

...but if somebody wants to apply a scale made for testing foods on their shit, he can certainly do so if he wants.

IMHO, a lack of Vegemite should be the least of your concerns.

Cheesy Grin Sad Shocked Huh Hint, Liquid drain cleaner, bleaches, ammonia solution, urin, battery acid, hydrochloric acid..... are not food

7 is neutral pH score. The pH scale is logarithmic and inversely and used to specify how acidic or basic a water-based solution is.
0 is neutral PRAL value. You confuse pH (power of Hydrogen) with PRAL value (Potential Renal Acid Load, or Potential Kidney acid load).

The larger the PRAL magnitude, the more alkaline or acidic the food is
Apricots, dehydrated -33
Apricots, dried -22
Apricots, raw -4
Apple, raw -1.9
Wine, dessert, sweet -1.8
Beer, lite -0.1

Bread, toasted 3.2
Tuna, fresh, raw 7.7
Tuna, steamed or poached 10.8
Beef, cooked 13.2
Chicken 14.5
Tuna, dried 17.7
Cheese, Parmesan, hard 24.7
Fish, dried 29.8

Conclusion
Quote
In conclusion, a high dietary acid load score is associated with an increased risk of death from all causes and CVD, particularly IHD mortality. The findings of our study suggest that maintaining an adequate acid-base balance can contribute to longevity by decreasing the risk of death, predominantly from CVD. Further prospective research and randomized trials are needed to confirm our findings.

I must have missed the part where you were writing about potential renal acid load but thanks for telling me that "Liquid drain cleaner, bleaches, ammonia solution, urin, battery acid, hydrochloric acid..... are not food"; you may have saved my life.  I owe you one.
