From the wallet it's another $hitclone / Bitclone.  Sure they have a website and nice graphics on it but spending $10K to impress a few schmucks is worth it if you can sucker in a few $100K
2682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 NEM = $1 USD on: April 27, 2014, 11:23:49 PM
Everybody is ok with that : Nxt is a revolution, NEM try to make the same with his own approach. Now let see...

For me, 70 or 3000 stakeholder, it changes nothing.

Some people fears about dumping, but the danger is not bigger with 70 or 3000 or more. A panic sell is possible with a lot of stakeholders.

But what is dumping ? Sell for BTC or Fiat ? Do you think really that is the goal of the big stakeholder of Nxt (At the moment, there is more than 70, a lot more : http://charts.nxtcrypto.org/cDistribution.aspx) , to have BTC or Fiat ?

And if the stakeholders wait on the Asset Exchange ? And wait for the first Enterprises IPO to invest ? It's an other possibility to make the repartition better and it's not dumping. It make value.

Nobody think about that !

Ok NEM is cool and (theoretically) it could propose the same as Nxt. But how and when ?

The big implementations of Nxt come in few days. NEM don't have a blockchain.

Nxt Businesses are in the starting blocks : https://nxtforum.org/news-and-announcements/asset-exchange-ipos-launch-day-listings!/msg12759/#msg12759 ; https://nxtforum.org/nxt-projects/
And it's only the top of the Iceberg.

And what about the businesses of NEM ? Nothing yet.

(I have a stake in NEM and NXT, I think NEM is a great project but I think it's a little bit to much to compare the both on the same level.)

Jesus, the first good post in this thread. Absolutely agree

No it was a bad post.  Automated Transactions don't mean crap since it's not proprietary to NxT.  You're in the wild west, nothing is patented in the crypto world.  The strength of a coin isn't based on the technology but the community behind the coin.
2683  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm Broke and Life Sucks... pls donate on: April 27, 2014, 10:19:31 PM
The irony is these sad stories always come from Americans / Canadian / British - their idea of being broke is not being able to spend $50 - $100 every weekend drinking out with their best friends.  Such is life in the west where 'broke' people in the west always find money for overpriced beer and vacations to Mexico / Eastern Europe and the newest iphones.   First world problems?
2684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Millennial Money? on: April 27, 2014, 07:38:08 PM
I don't know any boomers who keep huge wades of cash in the bank.  They have their entire net-worth in assets (e.g., real estate and stocks) and some have a pension which gives them a defined amount each month.

Maybe where BTC can come in is that it'll replace banks and cash accounts.  Instead of keeping $20K in the bank - you'ld keep $20K in a Bitcoin wallet.

TV noise is not TV Noise - it is remnants of the Space Reptilians and their intergalactic communication network.  Shsss... psssfttt... gsssssk...   We just assumed it was background noise the entire time because it was there since the beginning.
2686  Other / Off-topic / Re: 100% Roasted Cocoa as a substitute for coffee? on: April 27, 2014, 04:31:37 PM
I'm on day two and I'm only using a paper filter.  They warn you not to use a paper filter but that's due to overflowing.  I have no idea what they mean, because my coffee machine is designed to produce 10 cups of coffee and thus making 4 cups of Crio doesn't come anywhere close to overflowing.

You brew it like your coffee - like if you like stronger coffee than use less water.

Straight Crio - it taste like dark chocolate but without the digusting texture or strong aftertaste,  a lot of people drink it straight.

I add Styvia to my Crio and it taste just like hot chocolate but only at 10 calories and with Theobromine for that energy boost.

It smells great - I brewed it like my regular morning coffee and forgot I brewed crio but then smelled the chocolate aroma.

Theobromine, unlike caffeine, is considered safe for pregnant women and children to drink and  yet they still get the energy boost.
2687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What limitations does Charlie Shrem have? on: April 27, 2014, 03:37:39 PM
Is he allowed to use the internet?

Yeah he's allowed to use it anytime - he browses here and it's how he contacts his parole officer.
2688  Other / Off-topic / Re: 100% Roasted Cocoa as a substitute for coffee? on: April 27, 2014, 06:19:12 AM
this might be interesting? so does it compensate the sensation of coffee?

I think so.  A lot of people seemed to had quit coffee for this.  Look up theobromine, it's a potent alternative to caffine.

If he's under house arrest and presumably have a few hidden Bitcoin wallets?

- Food Delivery
- Computer Parts Delivery
- Escorts / Prostitutes making outcalls to his mom's house
- Paying people to pick him up beer
- Mom makes him dinner every night

Explain how house arrest is a punishment..   Grin
2690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum, MaidSafe, NXT, anything else worth investing in, in 2014? on: April 27, 2014, 05:52:57 AM
Even if Maidsafe had a perfect IPO then what?

Here are the issues

- Open Source (in before the clones)
- Nothing proprietary (ignoring the above, the concept isn't proprietary and others are working on doing the samething)
- Niche target demographic (Pedophiles and Tin Foil types who want anonymous internet.  Good luck convincing ordinary people to use this platform).
- Been in development for 8+ years.

Really the IPO was this:  a small very small company which was making almost no profit (probably had liabilities up to the sky) jumped on the digital currency phase and just walked away with $8+ million (some of it embezzled from MtGox).  I'ld say their IPO was a tremendous success if their true intention was to make quick bucks off dumb capital.

2014: defintivly NXT

--> launching Asset exchange in 15 days . Countdown on http://www.nxtcommunity.org/

you forget the real juice!

instantdex + multigateway + asset exchange + fiat gateways = p2p exchange where you can trade real coins(not iou's) at high speed(instantdex) and trade different pairs and not all just nxt/"coins" but btc/"coins" assets/"coins" ect ect... no coins ever get sent to 3rd party ever so no risk of stolen coins + drk coin makes it annymous(until nxtcash and nxt mixer come out making nxt transactions annonymous)!

https://nxtforum.org/multigateway-jl777/secret-project/?topicseen

https://nxtforum.org/multigateway-jl777/secret-project/msg12761/#msg12761

https://nxtforum.org/multigateway-jl777/nxtsubatomic-atomic-crosschain-exchange/

look through https://nxtforum.org/multigateway-jl777/ to see all the other amasing projects!

We weren't born yesterday.  NxT might double or triple in price, temporarily, but the whales would be cashing out at the same time and then the capitalization will plummet down to $10 million and then everyone who bought in expecting gains will be left holding the bag.

You just can't win when you have greedy whales who simply have no confidence in their own coin and dump each time there's an uptick.

Folks keep saying that, but the 'whales' have have had several opportunities to jump ship now (and many have). Unfortunately, I think people fail to recognize that NXT's distribution just keeps getting better and better.

People are greedy, there were huge spikes a couple times in the past and the majority of people that weren't committed jumped ship. The people joining up now are the ones that respect the community, development and progress of the platform. There really isn't much development happening anywhere else, you have Bitcoin and NXT.

TLDR, we are running short on whales. They don't last very long with the huge price spikes!

Not even remotely true.  The NxT whales sit on so much NxT they can kill that coin 1000 times over.

try coca.  it's on Silk Road for very cheap (under $7 for 1 grams).

and it works in milk too.  or in coffee (i prefer tea and anise).

Coca or cocoa? cocoa come from cacao tree.

He is referring to Cocaine  Grin  Yeah Cocaine will give you an energy boost but it'll deplete your bank account and possibly land you in prison.   Cheesy

I don't know what you need substitute for coffee. Just don't drink it. I don't get why people are drinking coffee at all. I have never drank coffee in my life. Is it any good? From this thread I see that coffee is bad for your health.

Healthwise not really - it's inferior to cocoa and coffee screws with your system, people drink coffee for the energy (minus the decaf crowd)

It's history -  coffee has been consumed in the old world for a long time.

It's like asking why people in China eat white rice when quinoa is arguably as good in taste but healthier

Where to buy quinoa? I never know this in my entire life.

I buy mine at Costco and they have it in the grain section.  I didn't know about Quinoa until a health nut introduced me to it.  It's another "superfood" like cocoa and I eat quinoa (mixed with fruit in - and some people put chicken stock in it) everyday for lunch.  It's pretty tasty stuff.

For the energy you say? Did you know that eating apple for breakfast gives you more energy than cup of coffee? It is proven scientific fact. Drinking coffee just makes your liver's life harder.

Yes from a technical point of view - apple has all those carbs and sugars, but it doesn't contain the stimulants we attribute as being 'energy'.

I bought the dark cavalla at the store, which used to be the "French dark roast" (one of the favourites)

Smell:  It smells like a chocolate factory when brewed

Energy:  Gave me a strong kick.  There's definitely energy in this.

Flavour

-  First had it straight.  Just like dark chocolate but is palatable doesn't have that ew taste texture or aftertaste).  I then added almond milk and styvia and then it taste like milk chocolate / hot chocolate.  I bet if I put this in fridge it would be nice.

Despite the cost I think I found a coffee substitute.

I did mine with a paper filter even though it wasn't recommended but I still love it.

We'll see if the start of the Asset Exchange in 15 days from now will boost NXT: http://www.nxtcommunity.org/
The release of Asset Exchange will only be the first step. Many big stuffs will follows one by one. A lot of things that most people take for granted today will be changed by Nxt forever. We will see the world be changed in front of us.

Those interesting in Nxt really should go to https://nxtforum.org/ and see by yourself what the devs have been busy developing.

Cool.  While the price temporarily goes up, the whales will sell.  Scam.  A lot of people who buy into that will be left holding the bag like usual.

What a wonderful idea! I miss coffee very much as I can no longer drink it for medical reasons, so looking forward to trying this. I wonder how it would work using the Aztec morning chocolate recipe? Thank you very much for this post, very interesting and useful!

Which recipe is that?  I couldn't find it on Google.

Supposedly you can reuse the cocoa for cooking or blending but that could be fattening and calorie rich?

i started drinking crio bru about 18 months ago ... i haven't had a coffee in about 16 months ... it's truly fabulous and I no longer get the stomach problems that the acidic coffee brings.
