2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Vitalik is a Poor Peasant. Justin Sun is the first Crypto Billionaire. on: January 05, 2018, 04:11:41 AM

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/7o54vc/charlie_lees_response_to_the_founder_of_tron_trx/

According to this thread, the Tron Foundation gave themselves 35% of TRON and the "Founder" of Peiwo (who is Justin Sun) gave himself 10%.    So this puts Justin anywhere between 11%-45% ownership of all Tron in circulation.

This means Justin Sun is the first Crypto Billionaire and possibly Multi-Billionaire.

There is some new Mijin news regarding the energy sector, looks like it may involve catapult features, will wait and see.  Smiley

Biggest power company in Japan
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver holds around 300k bitcoins worth $750 Million and wants the fork on: July 16, 2017, 10:45:39 AM
Roger Ver at some point will probably be arrested and thrown into prison for tax evasion.  If it is true he has 300,000 Bitcoins then he's on the hook for some $120+ million in back taxes to the IRS and penalties / interest from when he left USA in 2014.  I'm not sure about the IRS penalties but they could very well seize everything he owns due to the obvious massive conspiracy to commit tax fraud.  The token amount he gave them years ago was nowhere close to his owed amount.

Actually this is also the guy who is also a convicted terrorist too, for mailing explosives in the mail.  So it's practically a step backwards to commit something petty (by comparison to terrorism) like tax fraud.

Surprised Japan let him in and the various agencies aren't bothering him yet.   I guess Roger Ver avoiding drugs has kept him out of the spotlight or maybe he's giving people envelopes full of cash?

But arguably Roger Ver's rambling and trying to assert an authority image has hurt Bitcoin more than help it (especially the white legal side.  The criminal black side probably loves Roger Ver's libertarian rambles).
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: July 01, 2017, 11:28:45 PM
Strange days here. NEM keeps sliding lower on tiny volumes. Feels like we need catapult ASAP or this coin will fall into irrelevance.

http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/nem.io

The biggest change is NEM presence in Japan has fallen off the face of the Earth.  NEM was top 10,000 in Japan and it has sunk below top 30,000.

NEM has pretty much been sidelined out of Japan by Ripple in the last month or so.  You all better be praying that the Catapult release and Takao Asyama can bring NEM back in Japan.

When people say weak marketing they don't mean NEM versus shitcoins.  NEM has better marketing than almost all crypto projects (even Dash and Monero these days).  The problem is NEM can't be playing second fiddle to Ethereum in USA / UK and second fiddle to Ripple in Japan ~ it's just not healthy for long term growth.

For every conference Vitalik Buterin attends - NEM pretty much needs its' own person and also hit up the ones where Vitalik doesn't go, either.

I don't think you can make a world crypto by being #1 in 2nd world countries, where NEM has been doing well for a long time, like Spain and Malaysia ~ sad to say ~ unless millions within those countries start using NEM but such a high localized use would make it highly political (e.g., how long until Spanish and Malaysian government tries to shut you down).
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 26, 2017, 09:01:46 AM
There's a lot of brand new and recent negativity over Ethereum (but I was pointing out their problems for a couple of years).  The blockchain bloat and technical problems weren't new but now (last 48 hours) people are pointing out all the blockchain bloat and sham ICOs.

Etheruem price is tanking right now (moreso than NEM and other alternates!).

Until a victor emerges from this, there is a possibility we may see renewed interest in NEM in July.

To me, it seems like this is the time to buy NEM and hold NEM - because in July we could see new an all time high.

When NEM goes up it goes up.   We  may even hit the orbit of Pluto if Ethereum implodes and all the capital flows into the NEM network.   $1 NEM and higher could happen in 2017.    Shocked

July looks like it will be a good time for strategic updates and market gains.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top Fastest Growing Cryptocurrencies in May on: June 04, 2017, 01:24:40 AM
Claiming there is development in "Monero" is an oxymoron.  For the longest time it's just a clone of DuckNote and wasn't pumped until people claimed it was added to Darknet Markets (where it never attained much, if any, volume or actual usage on there).

The anonymity coins are way over-valued until there is another breakthrough to support their price.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 31, 2017, 07:51:51 AM
So SBI drops Ripple and Ripple pretty much gets booted from Japan.. but has been going up for days..

Meanwhile NEM seems to drop 5%+ everyday for no apparent reason.   Roll Eyes  It's not the lack of users, because everyday the NEM.io website is reaching new all-time highs for activity.  Maybe it's the clowns dumping NEMstakes they forgot about?  Roll Eyes  I guess we need to wait for some consolidation before we can move up again.

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Launch And Price Predictions on: May 30, 2017, 09:01:40 AM
No one knows what you're talking about - unless you meant Trezor integration.  Trezor did lead to pumps in 2016 but I'm not sure if it happens anymore?  Huh
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 26, 2017, 03:27:53 AM
First of all I am very proud to be a NEM hodler since the beginning. I had many doubts because of the slow progress but I have never sold big amounts. The doubt has gone away ( at least the most ) but I am still wondering why the development progress of the software is so slow. The current version is 0.6.87. And there was less action on the github repository compared to the value of this project. I found less information about a roadmap with dates ( or at least roughly release dates like QX 201X ). Any information that would eliminate my remaining doubts?

They are too busy developing and testing Catapult. It is true that there is no much NEM news recently. But this is good for the community to grow while XEM is still cheap. Once recent news will start to appear the price will skyrocket. Which is not good in terms of community growth. It is better for NEM to rise gradually while gaining more users everyday.

Well Etherium and Ripple came around the same time as Nem, but they are running pretty hard in price with a large community. Apparently there is something wrong with us.

Not true about Ripple.  Ripple's been around since 2003.  They also had crypto stuff out back in 2013-2014.  Roger Ver, although has since changed his mind, was shilling a lot for Ripple back in the day.

NEM didn't release until 2015.

Ripple and Ethereum have a lot in common in that they recruited big Bitcoin whales to shill for them (and these whales also had mega funds to manipulate the market capitalization).

NEM on the other hand, even to this day, has zero Bitcoin whales / "celebrities" backing it - especially American ones..  Go ahead and find me one.   I should point , although NEM is solidly in the top 5 now, none have spoken out in favour of NEM to this day.

NEM is arguably the most self-made alternate which didn't need whales to promote the project or to fund it.  The crypto establishment ("old money" / "dumb" whale money) never liked NEM.

Where NEM succeeded was new blood / new money in crypto and was very successful in Malaysia, Japan and Spain.  Now NEM is finally seeing a lot of traffic from the United States but again it's new blood.  The old money of crypto is sticking to Bitcoin / Ethereum / Ripple.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am now a multi millionaire because of NEM XEM on: May 25, 2017, 03:34:00 PM
Congratulations sir, you are a very lucky person, use this as best you can.

Anyone who has been SKILLFULLY trading crypto for 3-4 years should be a "millionaire" by now (though $1 million is not what it used to be).

I say that because there are a LOT of people in crypto who just got lucky (but think they are smart)...
And people who luck into wealth almost always have it stripped from them in 1000 ways.

The dotcom millionaires and multi-millionaires are interesting.

A million dollars was a big deal back in the 1990s and if that was invested in real estate it would be worth a lot today (remember that real estate prices, in most areas of the world, have skyrocketed since the 1990s).  But the documentary I remember seeing was it said a lot of those dotcom rich kids (under $10 million) lost all their money in divorces, gambling and other big expenditures (reminiscent of lottery winners).

I've been studying traffic metrics and everyday the NEM website is breaking records and reaching a new all-time high.  So long as user adoption keeps happening then another price breakout will happen soon.   Everyday it seems like there's new YouTube videos about NEM too.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 05, 2017, 11:40:09 PM
any plan to reduce the amount required to build a masternode ?

3 000 000 is just crazy and stupid now with this price.

Sometimes you have to spend money to make money.  Welcome to the world of being a grown up.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH nearly messed up story on: May 05, 2017, 06:56:39 PM
I bought into the ICO and sold when it went 4x. I should have held because if I did then I would be a millionaire right now..  Embarrassed

Back then there was a lot of FUD being directed at Eth so I figured I made my profits and time to leave. Oh well..

The poor are poor for a reason.  Usually their financial decisions are dictated by impulse like eating at every restaurant they see and spending their welfare check / payday on cigarettes and lotto tickets.  Impulse selling after 400% ROI.

Yeah 400% ROI is great for blue chip investments but this isn't blue chip.  Even real estate can go up more than 400%.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 05, 2017, 06:43:59 PM
XEM has the least exchange site compared to other top 10 coins and has the crappiest marketing/no marketing at all.

Nem has one of the best marketing team ever.
Involved in promoting our technology in big companies and governments instead of posting crap on social media.

yes they have a good marketing for large business and government but what about the common people?
yes NEM is always active when it comes to implementing the technology on business and that is good but a massive adoption of people is very good too

I guess it is a good target clients. Almost all altcoins and bitcoins are already crowding on targeting common people. It is about time there is someone to focus on big business and governments.

There's nothing common about targeting people on Bitcointalk, ROFL.  I'm sure if you ignore the dark net pedophiles, there's some lovely (albeit introverted, asocial and possibly sociopathic) people in the crypto community.

I can guarantee you no two random strangers on this planet have ever talked about Ethereum or Monero in person - otherwise they'ld realize how stupid those names sound.

this is the best coin ever.. gonna buy my NEM lambo soon <3 <3

Finally some sell pressure

LOL, but get a NEM number plate, like Marc de Mesel with NXT on his Lambo. YouŽll need spare parts, for sure, but hey, NEM will take care of that.

Didn't work out for him.  He said he couldn't take it out much.  You also knew it didn't increase his sexual market value because his girlfriend was nothing special.

Probably would had been better off spending that money on gym pass, tattoos and cosmetic surgery - or maybe a nice pad to entertain women - but kind of late now with his financial problems.  His grandfather is probably spinning in the grave as we speak, seeing all his hard work get wasted but money was always wasted on the young, dumb and workshy.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: if bitcoin dies, what alt would you go for? on: April 07, 2017, 11:23:58 PM
Ethereum is less scalable than Bitcoin.  There's hardly any users in Ethereum (only speculators) and the blockchain has bloated to many gigabytes.  There's also credible security concerns about the whole Ethereum technology after DAO.

Realistically, the 'old money' of Bitcoin will probably move over to the twin Litecoin.

There really isn't a viable "let's steal Bitcoin's userbase" strategy for alternates.  You have to go blue ocean and gain adoption from people who are not already in crypto.
