You cannot wear T-Shirts anymore as they originated from the United States.
No they aren't. "Made in Pakistan", "Made in Bangladesh" is what most of them say.

Right.  Maybe the textile company which produced it is from there but who do you think distributed it or provided the capital?  Some American.

The guy in the OP is full of it - you can't ban American products without banning 80% of everything you use in everyday life, either the idea / concept came from America, it was produced in America or it was the result of American capital.  A Russia isolated from America (and even Europe - as I said most Ladas were ripoffs off Italian cars) would be back in the Medieval Ages.

Homeless veterans are a hypothetical a national security concern.  HV know how to use weapons and nowadays you have the Saudis and Qataris who are paying $1000/day for people to fight in the Jihad.

Though, if the independent paper in the UK is any indication, the 'Holy Warriors' spend more time trying to seduce young women on the internet than trying to bolster their ranks to include skilled combatants.
1764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NFO] Ethereum = Scam on: August 13, 2014, 12:06:52 PM
NxT is cheaper than Ethereum's buy in.   We all know what happened to Mastercoin (the original Suckerberg coin), Ethereum Suckerberg 2.0 is going to produce even louder whines when it flops.

1765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the Altcoins are going down? on: August 13, 2014, 11:47:25 AM
The issue here may not be alternates but frankly all the short term speculators and weak hands in cryptos.  It took years for Bitcoin to be worth anything and that delay weeded out a lot of the weaklings.

NEM and Ora, as far as I know, are the only 2 coins out of 400+ alternates to Bitcoin which are attempting an alternative launch model.  NEM and Ora is pre-launch token trading on an asset exchange and the hypothesis is that almost all the weak hands and speculators will dump before launch and thus when the coin does release it will be a community of holders and this will be good for stability and growth.
1766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Silence before the storm on: August 13, 2014, 10:39:10 AM
Unless they're planning on starting their own crypto fund and throwing billions at it, how exactly does BTC get to $5000?

2013 was China and MtGox bots.  People on mainstreet America seem to hate Crypto Currencies.  So the only untapped markets I see out there are Vietnam, Japan and maybe the risk-taking funds.

1767  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hilary Clinton's foreign policy is already terrifying on: August 13, 2014, 04:40:20 AM
Didn't Ron Paul essentially win the Caucasus but they ignored the results and threw the election?

Rand Paul would never be allowed to represent the Republican Party in a Presidential election.

1768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar on: August 13, 2014, 04:29:40 AM
Price is way manipulated.. that premine got to greedy hands or some hacker has millions.. i saw a bot sistematically selling chunks of 20k - 40k every few seconds thats why now it has this price.. dont invest on this.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=734017.0

There were people in the first days of Stellar that already acquired 10+ million.  The third largest wallet is Justabit (which was the only exchange at the time) but there were somewhere like 10 - 30 people who had amounts over 1 million.

Professional blackhat hackers with hundreds of FB accounts.  Inside traders (Stellar employees or additional investors?).  Guys telling people in India / China and paying them $2 to send them Stellar.

Really this coin is a big turd.  You have Stellar-Stripe's 99.7 billion premine and then all the cheats who acquired millions of Stellar through unscrupulous means.  I'm surprised that people are throwing money into this coin but lemmings are lemmings, probably the same people who lost money on Aurora and Mastercoin.

1769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why don't people under ISIS rule buy bitcoin? on: August 13, 2014, 04:19:55 AM
That's American exceptionalism - to sell the American dream, just like the alternate section on this forum, you have to FUD and make everything else look bad.
1770  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Message to Barak Obama from Russian dude. on: August 13, 2014, 04:07:49 AM
That's the second Santa Claus.  The first one was murdered by an anti-air missile from North Korea.  There was no Christmas that year for the orphans in Bangladesh.  Cry

1771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats up with LTC? on: August 13, 2014, 02:54:12 AM
Wasn't LTC predominately held by people in East Asia?

If they're all dumping LTC then where's the money going?  Practically every alternate is doing down at the moment.

1773  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Message to Barak Obama from Russian dude. on: August 13, 2014, 01:56:02 AM
but he is drinking Coca Cola which is from America?

If you're going to ban American products then he should also ban every American company.  A lot of stuff "Made in China" is actually from an American company, such as Apple assembly plants in Taiwan and China.  He likely couldn't be using his computer either anywhere between a quarter to half the chips are likely built on some American idea.

I guess since Italy is part of NATO that means Italian stuff should be banned too.  Oops, you can't drive your Lada since most of them are copies of Italian cars like fiat.

If you banned everything American and European what would Russia be left with?  Potatoes?  Well they came from the Americas (which sounds a lot like America) so even that would be banned too.   Wink
1774  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China Increases Arrests After Repatriating 20 to North Korea on: August 12, 2014, 10:48:18 PM
Chinese are starting to complain about illegal North Koreans who are undercutting the Chinese wages, so I think that's the reason behind the arrests.

Interesting how that argument works in China and not in America. It's not like the people we should be deporting would be going to prison camps for life.

There can be parallels.  The American War on Drugs is what makes the gangsters very wealthy and said gangsters are terrorizing entire areas of Mexico and Central America.  Many people have to cross dead bodies every morning to get to school and work in Central America.

China tolerating the fat kid who runs North Korea is comparable in a way, they make the Kims very wealthy at the expense of the rest of North Korea who are stuck in a perpetual gulag.
1775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Council - [Poll] Who do you want on the council? on: August 12, 2014, 10:38:22 PM
$200m for 500 listed coins is a shocking number. I thought the altcoin market is bigger than that. So many coins and so little market share means the trade is very risky.

There were alternates which were released back in 2010 / 2011 and most of them have since died out, IIRC.

1/500 is bad odds and technically worse than the lottery, the lottery has lesser prizes (like $10 with a 1/50 chance) that you can win.
1776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most underrated alt coins out there. on: August 12, 2014, 10:27:37 PM
What a predictable thread.  In before people start listing scams like Jackpot, NxT, et cetera.

1778  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ~~~ Homeless Veterans ~~~ on: August 12, 2014, 10:23:57 PM
It's a shame but many people underestimate how many homeless and/or homeless veterans suffer from mental issues.  Someone with a clear train of thought does not need to be homeless or unemployed in the United States.  It might not be pretty but there's always some last resort of moving to Anchorage, the Dakotas or one of the middle states with low unemployment.

I don't bother with the lazy argument because our society is full of lazy people, they're called politicians and civil servants who haven't lifted a hammer or worked past 8 hours in their life and yet live an entitled lifestyle that Kings in the Medieval ages would envy.  Let's not even get started with people who live off investments and/or Hollyweird actors who make more money in one movie than most Americans make in an entire lifetime (especially for actors who can't act but are being themselves).
1779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the Altcoins are going down? on: August 12, 2014, 09:58:27 PM
Sell in May and go away is the old saying.  People in 2013 said alternates were dead until they boomed in November / December.
1780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will an altcoin ever reach $1 billion market cap again? on: August 12, 2014, 09:53:06 PM
Auroracoin reached the $1 Billion Market Cap (artificially inflated) for around three quarters of a day before its mega dump.

As you point out, it was artificially inflated. It took advantage of the way market cap is calculated, which multiplied value across all coins in existence, when it really should multiply value across all coins mined. Exluding massive dev premines.

Well that's actually most coins in existence.  It's either a premine for the developers or its' held by whales who took it all for next to nothing.  Dark was instamined by several million.  8 wallets (wallets =/= persons, aka could be socks) took 400 million NxT according to Salaczs' blog (NxT developer).

We've seen what has happened to all the 'fair distribution' coins.  The capitalization simply doesn't hold as you can't control 1000 - 3000+ wallets.  Even Stellar is seeing that with their tens of thousands of wallets where people are dumping instantly just to get $10.
