There is no such thing as a "90 Plus" specification, as shown in one of the pictures on this power supply.

I wouldn't trust it as far as I can throw MARS.

If someone GAVE me that PS I'd probably toss it in the trash - might consider stripping out usable parts first like the fan and some of the screws.

2682  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: SHOULD I REQUEST A LOAN TO BUILD MINING FARM?? on: August 07, 2017, 03:57:53 PM
Very high risk when you don't appear to already know what you're getting into.

2683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BW.com L21 - Litecoin (scrypt) ASIC miner - unofficial speculation thread on: August 07, 2017, 03:47:08 PM

all the maths ive done suggests buying one of these for LTC will never make positive ROI, what gives? why are you getting excited, what have i missed?

You appear to have a fairly high electric rate (I'm guessing 7-8 cents / kwh based on your "electric cost per day").

I'd also estimate that you're using a "difficulty increase" factor that's a little on the too high side, but that MIGHT change if BW.com can get a significant number of these miners built (on top of the existing Bitmain L3+ and Innosilicon A4 production).

So was there a batch or not? Did anyone bought it?

There was a batch a couple days back - keep in mind that China is AHEAD of the US quite a bit, almost a full day so it's August 2 over here when it's August 3 over there for MOST of the day.

"Curses, foiled by the International Date Line again!".

I don't anticipate them having another batch of anything 'till around end of the month or sometime early NEXT month, based on their normal timing between batches.

No way are they going to drop the L3+ price by $1000 - it's currently THE best available miner and very little higher in price than it's only "sold to the public" competiton the Innosilicon A4 - and besides, even with the jump in Litecoin pricing today it's STILL under $2000.

Not at all like the D3, which looks like it's now the THIRD best miner in it's class and therefore has to compete HARD on pricing to keep sales happening.

2685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: August 07, 2017, 03:33:25 PM

Its always good to share.

If I wasn't making my living at this, and NOT with gigantic reserves, I'd possibly agree.
Up side - the stuff I'm working with isn't NEW, just very under the radar.

You've got a bit more of a NVidia farm that I do (I should recieve cards #22 and #23 today, and #24 later this week but most of my cards are 1070s and I'm not counting the 950s or 960s as their TOTAL production is barely more than a single 1070) - and you've got a LOT more of an ETH farm than I do (if I went ALL IN on ETH, I might get a hair over 1 GH/sec). I just thank goodness that Bitmain has had "can't get enough chips" issues on the L3/L3+ as right now my A2 farm is paying most of the bills letting me put most of the profits from the NVidia (and small AMD) farm towards GROWING the farm.

No point in me getting upset at the "share" folks though, way too many of y'all around and I'm NOT from La Mancha.

2687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: August 07, 2017, 03:23:36 PM
Is EWBF Support R9 390x ? I have 1080ti, 1070 and R9 390X  config already enable all gpu, but looks like R9 is not detected...

Anyone have the same problem ?

Which part of "CUDA Zcash miner" do you not understand?

CUDA is NVidia specific, so this miner won't support anything BUT Nvidia.

For AMD, you're probably wanting to look into the Claymore ZEC miner.

 To YIz:

I've yet to see ANY testing of the VEGA cards on anything but ETH - but the archetecture is Fury-like, they SHOULD be quite a bit faster than the Fury - and I'd *guess* the Vega 64 should be able to argue closely or exceed the 1080ti on ZEC hashrate.

2688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: August 07, 2017, 03:20:17 PM
@LoverAli94: I've used flypool and nanopool for some time to make a comparioson. Nanopool never gave me a high hashrate but the ZEC amount I was not what I was expecting. Flypool gave me a lower hashrate but the right ZEC amount.

About ping: I get 20-40 mostly. Sometimes when something is wrong I get around 200-300ms but my rejected shares are not really higher. I think in theory it's bad to have a high ping but it's not significant.

I ran my farm on an Exede SAT connection (never saw less than about 650 ms, usually closer to 700) for a couple years - rejects were still under 1% though barely so.

RELIABLE connection is more important than fast connection.

2689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WTF just happened! Bitmain D3 on: August 07, 2017, 03:18:06 PM
S11 I don't expect to see 'till 2020. Perhaps late 2019.

L5 - depends, there are conflicting reports of "is the L3+ 28nm or 14/16 nm" - if it's 28nm then I'd expect to see an L5 (NOT L4, doesn't fit Bitmain naming scheme) sometime VERY late this year or somewhere in 2018.

D5 - see comments on the L4/L5 for the same reason.
I DO wonder why their first released X11 (DASH) miner wasn't called the D1 though, perhaps they started to make one at one point (like the L1 project) and never bought it to market?

2690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain drops price of D3 for second batch by $1100. WTF on: August 07, 2017, 03:12:11 PM
Hmmm. OK the page was confusing, announcing the DM22G but then the actual listing is for the DM11G.

2691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New Rosewill Server Mining Case UPDATE got it today with new pics. on: August 07, 2017, 03:09:28 PM
I like the fact that the 90 dollar version comes with the fans. Even though the fans suck, having 3 fans I can push to the front for exhaust right away is nice. The modding takes me like 20 minutes and 1 piece of 1x2.

 Link?
2692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 07, 2017, 06:33:14 AM
Are they announcing when these batches go on sale anywhere?  I think I could risk it at the reduced price if another batch came up with the same shipping time frame.

They announce it - on their twitter feed and with LESS THAN 24 HOURS ADVANCE NOTICE more often than not.
Same as recent announcements on the L3+ and the S9 (but the S9 takes more like a DAY to sell out, not less than an hour).

2693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 07, 2017, 06:31:24 AM

you can buy here but they will be hosted on gigawatt farm ( under construction ) . I don't know if it's a scam or not.

https://www.gigawatt.sg/shop/dash-miners/antminer-d3-dash-miner-batch-4-november/

Bitmain says that "We have never authorized and will not authorize Giga Watt as our official hosting facility or our service center in the USA": https://blog.bitmain.com/en/gigawatt-infringement-announcement/

They don't have to be "official" to buy the miners and sell them, or to host them.
 Different issue there.

2694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: August 07, 2017, 06:16:41 AM

Which is why I refuse to specify what most of my NVidia cards have been working on the last couple months - I'm a little over 1% of the TOTAL there, and don't want everyone and their kid brother jumping in and destroying profitability.

The "natural" growth has been bad enough - there was a time last winter, with HALF the cards, that I was pulling in over 2% of the mined coins - though the value per coin is still up quite a bit from then.

What do you mean by "little over 1% of the total here" ?
Do you mean you manage to earn 1% more than expected ?

I mean that of the total amount of work being done on that project, my GPUs are doing a little over 1% of the total (almost 1.5% right now with recent upgrades to my farm but it's sliding due to more folks adding more GPUs) and at one point my farm was quite a bit over 2% (though the income per coin was quite a bit less then I was earning enough more to largely make up the difference).

For a brief while during it's early runup this spring, I was providing a bit over 1% of Total Network Hashrate on DGB-Groetsl, later close to that on DGB-Skein, and at one point I was almost 2% of total network hashrate on DGB-Scrypt - as examples, not what I'm working on now.
None of those lasted, as folks were drawn to DGB both by talk about it's profitability (DGB was the primary driver for Skein profitability in general at that point, and probably still IS) AND by the fact it was a very high price jump % coin for 2-3 days in a row that CAUSED it to have very high profitability AND to get a lot of folks looking into it (like me) - till everyone and their kid brother jumped on it and drove the profitability back into "the basket".

My farm also produces ballpark 11% of the Gridcoin production on the Moo Wrapper / RC5-72 project on BOINC (and about 6% of the production of that entire project), but that's not a high-profit activity so I don't mind talking about that.

I'm not QUITE as bad off as Phil's example - I've got 21 GPUs working on that project right now, the total hashrate equates out to the ballpark equivalent of 1250 GTX 1070 cards (but it''s like ZEC, a fairly wide range of cards work well on it so the actual GPU total is probably higher).

On the other hand, ONE "big ZEC miner" (say the #5 farm on flypool http://zcash.flypool.org/miners/t1VwDJV6g75FdCQYbTHdunAnZVAdYvd7Q2d, the higher-ranked folks are obviously using NiceHash) moving their farm over would cut net profitability by HALF in well under a week - so I don't talk about it.
It's more profitable than ZEC on the cards I have pointed at it, but NOT double the profit.

2695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: August 07, 2017, 05:55:23 AM
It *would* be nice to know. We'll find out soon enough. I read that Vega frontier is ~ 1080ti, Vega rx56 ~ 60mh, Vega rx64 ~ 80-100mh on ETH.

Haven't seen these numbers authoritatively confirmed anywhere yet. Its unclear how the Vega rx series could be so much faster than frontier.

One rumor from ONE source "gibbo" (sp?) from a UK seller quoting a "AIO employee" who supposedly said there's a big improvement on some unnamed driver version.

I would NOT be shocked to see a substantial improvement from driver optimization, and likely some from mining software optimization, but I want to SEE double before I believe it.

I don't remember CURE being close to a halfing - FLDC had a halfing recently though, perhaps that is what you're thinking of?

2697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX Vega Rumored to Hash 70+ Mh/s on: August 07, 2017, 05:44:14 AM
Gamers Nexus Confirmed but not tested RX Vega to hash 70Mh/s.  I trust this source a lot more than the previous, but again still untested.

https://youtu.be/qrnkbmabK4U?t=55

"haven't tested it" right from the video - so no real confirmation.

2698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX Vega Rumored to Hash 70+ Mh/s on: August 07, 2017, 05:43:04 AM

SAME rumor just a different site quoting Gibbo.

andrewpuzoff welcome to elite mining  Tongue change miner and stop using idiot language in your windows pls....
"elite mining"?! Is it joke?!
tell me something about, if it's not

What miner is better better than blago ?!
other version or may be i need a gpu-miner for more data ?

JMiner will work with CPUs, and runs faster than Blago on AMD cpus (possible exception for Ryzen since I don't have one, and I can't speak to Intel cpus as I only have one and that machine isn't doing BURST as the cpu is ALREADY overloaded from what it is doing right now).

It doesn't have nearly as "pretty" of an interface as Blago.
2700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New Rosewill Server Mining Case UPDATE got it today with new pics. on: August 07, 2017, 05:32:55 AM
Nice pics! One thought comes to mind....

If this case is supposed to be installed in datacenter type facilities, what will happen to the hot isle/cold isle cooling approach? Looks like the GPUs are breathing out hot air from the front and usually servers do the opposite.

Does this mean that you would want to fill up the whole isle with these units to maintain proper cooling configuration at scale? Or maybe install them backwards in racks?

Most non-blower cards exhaust most of the hot air out of the top of the card.
