2681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Disorder ? on: March 07, 2022, 06:13:12 PM
I have seen several people who was hardly devastated financially because of the uncontrollable gambling addiction. I have to agree that the government should be aware of this and give more attention to a rising cases for gambling addiction, however, due to the tons of government issues my country is facing, this kind of disorder have always been overlooked and were taken lightly.
I guess the first step to this is to hold the gambling company liable for such cases. The gambling company should be at least the first to know If there is a significant increase of betting amount and gambling time for an individual, thus they should reach out to this individual, and then the gambling company will be the one to report it to the authorities so the government will take action from there.
For sure government are aware of this, but maybe they are torn because the money generated by the casinos is huge for them. I guess the money they received can somewhat help those who are addicted and they can set up facilities to help those people. Yes, people are to blame here, but at least the government have the responsibilities to help and take action.
2682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: March 07, 2022, 05:01:49 PM
We have seen some big individual performances last night. Jayson Tatum with 54 points in a win against Nets with Durant. Khris Middleton with 44 points in a win against Suns, a very big win. And last but not least, Jokic, with 46 point and a triple double, 11 assists 12 rebounds. And a win. It was again a superb performance by Jokic. That guy is unbelievable. If he continue like this, he seems like will be one of the greatest players ever. These individual performances affected the game in a way that they almost surely win the game or just gonna play better till their team is ahead. Especially Jokic and Nuggest are doing everything they can to get the 6th position in western conference. And it will probably happen.
What do you expect? he is the reigning MVP and usually just like last year, he step up after the All Star break and produce numbers worthy of an MVP. They are in the brink of defeat, down double digits in the 4th quarter, make a comeback, force OT, down in the first couple of minutes and then clutch after clutch plays from him. I will not be surprise if he won the MVP again but it's going to be very tough, with Joel Embiid performance with the resurging Sixers and then we have Ja Morant.
2683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Gonzalez vs Martinez on: March 07, 2022, 04:17:53 PM
Gonzales throws more punches and landed. He isnt just playing the numbers game.

Amazing how hard Matinez chin after getting batted several times. Either that or Gonzales' strenght is just too soft for Martinez. While I like watching this kind of fght, it be more impressive to see main event having an obvious champ standing and the other KOed.

Mexicans do possesses good chin so I'm not surprised that Martinez was able to take all that Gonzalez throws on him. What surprises me is how Gonzalez can maintain that volume punching all throughout the fight, full 12 rounds and I think they can still go at it for the next rounds. But it the end it was obvious that Gonzalez is the better fighter, sure Martinez can take his punch but he is not scoring on the judges eye.
2684  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC over 50k? on: March 05, 2022, 12:25:24 PM
The current state of Bitcoin suggests that it will reach 50K in a day or two. Because Bitcoin suddenly dropped from 45K to 35K in one day and after 3-4 days it has returned to its previous position. So I think it will not stay in the same place for long even if it goes to 50K. If it is not more than before, it will be much less. Trading now is very risky for everyone. Because Bitcoin can dump again and again. And if they do not make a profit by buying at a high price, then it is a loss to the traders.
Nah, not even close, in the last 24 hours, the price goes down below $40k. So we are not again at this level prior to the massive spike. So it's a dump but hopefully when things clear again we will bounce back. But i don't see it going to $50k. There's to much resistance at that, and with the war still a big factor, we may have to wait.
2685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: March 05, 2022, 10:46:42 AM
We can remember that this fight has been originally scheduled on December 29 last year but due to the omnicron, Japan was forced to close its borders because these new variant are said that it's going to be more infectious and could spread faster than the previous variants.
And finally, a much awaited unification fight of GGG vs Murata is now set and and now they released a date. April 9 is the day!

This is good news for GGG, at last they have released a date for this fight. One month from now so GGG must be intensify his training so he could catch up.

He must have feel the pressure to win now knowing that Canelo is waiting in the wings and a possible huge retirement paycheck is waiting should he demolished Murata next month but knowing how tough this Japanese boxer, this could be a one hell of a fight for the aging GGG.

A good news indeed, two of the most awaited fight will going to happen this year including the trilogy between GGG and Canelo that was expected to happen in September. Though GGG still haven't signed the deal but we already know that this fight will happen as GGG is the one who want it in the first place. But before that, we should also focus about this first. GGG is still the heavy favorites against Murata.

Golovkin 1.13, Murata 5.20

GGG is still the favorite in the bookies but if i were to put the odds i would give 2.5 for Murata because he is a very live underdog and we all know that GGG is not getting any younger anymore and that may reflect on his performance against this tough Japanese boxer.

IMO, that trilogy with Canelo would not be an exciting one if you are really following boxing. They should have stage that months after the rematch because we all knew that GGG is aging while Canelo is peaking so critics might tagged this a cherry picky fight once again.
True, but it was Canelo who said no to the trilogy, and then he went further south to LHW and go for Kovalev's belt and we all know that he clean up the super middleweight division next.

So there's no more challenge for him except to close the book with a fight with GGG. But there could be arguments that GGG is already old and this could be an excuse and could be used as an argument against Canelo.
2686  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is getting more bearish, what is the trigger? on: March 04, 2022, 08:04:22 PM
Really strong Dollar index now, its coming back to the level of 2020 first flu wave peak which means the market is ignoring all the weakness from money printing that occurred.   At these levels BTC is under pressure and we are not so far arresting the pullback with any buying.  It appears reasonable to target downside of 38k area and hope we can stabilize enough to start another wave higher.
Down to $40k levels again, so another retest which for me is not good. Although we still have the situation in Europe that is causing this downside,  the bulls wasn't able to hold the $42k so obviously the collapse and retest. And just to be fair though, again, just prove that the market has some correlation as Germany and other stock exchange in Euro has open up their trading with a negatives. So short term the market will be bearish.
2687  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Prediction for March!! on: March 04, 2022, 11:19:24 AM
I hope $50K to be a bullish sign. But we have to be careful with the bullish trap as you said. I hope BTC is able to break through and hold on to the $50K area and it can be a positive month for bitcoin. If the file is confirmed we will experience a severe crash.
Crashes have happened many times with Bitcoin, but eventually it will recover and if this month Bitcoin can be at $50K, then the market improvement will be more visible on a good track and all altcoins will be at a much lower price level well from now on.
That is very low to expect mate, 50k and you will find it even? nope that is not for us to look at, instead Bitcoin needs to reach at least 60k before we can tell that it is really stabilizing and growing towards our position.
but that is correct that crashes happens each time but recovery comes everytime so that is always the Up and Down of the market that makes us best in our situation.
so Bitcoin must take at least 60k back again.
Maybe that is just a rough and conservative estimate, $50k first and the we will see how far it will go. Currently we have a good run at $45k, but it seems we have a sell off in the last 24 hours as bitcoin fell to $41k again. Last night it was in the $43k lows, so there is a lot of fluctuations going on that $50k might be very difficult to reach.
2688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Running node makes sense? on: March 04, 2022, 10:54:18 AM
Is running a node a profitable crypto business in today's economy? I've seen several videos on youtube about running nodes for some new projects, how good is this over mining crypto?.
Maybe if we are still in 2018, I think it's outdated already, sorry to burst the bubble for you. There are still who are running a node though, but they have been in the game since the beginning so obviously they have profited and just probably staying but not making the money that they used to before. Those videos that you might be seeing is old though or outdated or they are just showing it just to get the views. So it's not advisable at the current state of crypto economy.
2689  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin? on: March 04, 2022, 10:27:05 AM
In the long run, Bitcoin is far more positive than in the short run. Bitcoin's short-term price is continually changing. Volatility is what it delivers. The price might suddenly fluctuate in the hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. As a result, betting on Bitcoin's short-term price is not only dangerous, but also potentially unprofitable. The long term, on the other hand, virtually always ensures a return on investment. This is why day trading is less exciting than patiently holding.
Well this is debatable, but if you are wise investor, it's better to really go long on bitcoin. You might be making money short term, buy and sell to make a quick buck or two. But if you just hold and buy during dip, then maybe down the line the profit will be huge. Just like what happen the last time, prices goes down to $3k because of the pandemic and then shoots up to new all time high of $69k. So that is a great margin of profit if you stay and just hold during the 2 years.
2690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: March 04, 2022, 09:35:25 AM
He already proved his worth as a boxer when he beats Pacquiao now he is going the extra mile buy fighting a very dangerous Spence, there are no thrash talks happening between the two they are both professional when they meet at a conference, so just over a week from now and we will see another hopefully a good fight, this is going to be a technical fight between the two as both fighters always sizing up their opponents.

Over a week? According to the news, the date of the fight was April 16. If it's over a week now we should see lots of news already or any hypes about the fight. But yes, the fight will be one of the good fights we will see this year. It might end up as a Fight of the Year if the fight will turned out intense and entertaining.
Possible fight of the year if they are going back at each other per round.

Ugas is not a heavy underdog here even odds are considering him that way. There's a thing with him that can beat the likes of Errol Spence Jr.
I think Ugas is, he is 3-4:1 underdog so I consider that odd are heavy underdog. But maybe for boxing fans, he is not, but in paper it's very different.

For what's that thing, we don't know until we see it on the ring. However, Errol Spence Jr. also does have that.
Both of them are champions, Ugas beat Manny while Spence is coming from a long layoff. And only one will be the winner here.
2691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol - May 7 on: March 04, 2022, 08:59:35 AM
Yes, every Russian athletes have been affected by the war between the two countries.

So there is a chance that this fight won't happen unless the war is over. So we will see how everything will turn out, of course we wanted to see this fight, it's surely a very interesting one specially that Canelo will fight an unbeaten Russian fighter. But it is what it is, if the governing body is not going to sanction this, then  the fight won't simply happen.

Some Russian athletes are appealing to the governing bodies and said that this is sports and not a politics but as of now they don't have any choice but to wait for some updates regarding this matter. Hence, this decision is a retaliation towards Russia's invasion and for Vladimir Putin.
About this fight, they still have a month or so to wait but if ever this issue won't be resolved soon then I guess this fight won't happen because surely neither of them wants an unsanctioned fight.

Still good though if athletes are going to appeal their case to the governing bodies and see how it goes. And hopefully Bivol can be given exception so that he can fight one of the biggest on his career in the next couple of months. It' just sad that the invasion really affected the whole sports but for sure logic will dictate that those Russian athlete should suffer from what their President did aainst Ukraine.
Yes, we will have to see, most of the time governing bodies shows solidarity and not just in boxing, but in all other sports, they are putting a hammer ban athletes of Russian heritage.

So this case is like threading a needle for Bivol, of course we understand that the acts of their President doesn't constitute agreement of their population, but it already happen and this is what the sporting worlds reaction.
2692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: March 04, 2022, 08:39:11 AM
^^ I think he also adjusted, he try to go back to his bread and butter, that is to go to the inside. But there are times that there are no bounce on his feet, so the young guys can follow and block his shot. And he often uses his left which is not his strong suit. I guess it boils down to that chemistry issue, and for me as much as we want him to stay as a Lakers, WB should go somewhere else.
It's just sad to see that there's so much hype on Westbrook when he joined the Lakers but his production is not what we are expecting. I don't know his future but I think he will be better if he will be in a team that no other superstar except him.
Yeah, maybe it was just a total mismatch with the team, or he is really no longer on his prime years. Last year he was injured with he was still in the Wizards uniform, but since there is no superstar there, except Beal, he prosper. But with the Lakers line up, it's hard for him to do what he wanted to do because he is no longer the alpha and so his game goes down. Now, they have lost against their domestic rivals by a big margin again.
2693  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin likely won't recover until 2025 on: March 03, 2022, 07:15:44 PM
The market is unpredictable and expects Bitcoin to enter a bear market and likely to recover until 2025, I still hesitate to rely on the four-year cycle model because going forward the pattern will not be the same in the past four years cycle. I'm sure that we won't have a bear market this year. I think the bitcoin price still has the potential to continue the bullish trend, but I realize that a big correction is likely to occur. Therefore, although there is no certainty when the bear market will come and recover, those who HODL bitcoin in the long term will benefit greatly.
But we rely on past history to make our prediction and that's what the OP is trying to drive at. It's a 4 year cycle, the last bull run was 2021+4 = 2025.

I get your point though, it's because the market is changing and adapting to different circumstances, like bitcoin being a part of the balance sheet of companies now. Or even countries owning it as a reserve asset like gold. So we will see if pattern will continue or will a new cycle will emerge as bitcoin's narrative is evolving now.
2694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFT Tokens a Good Long Term Investments? on: March 03, 2022, 06:26:10 PM
Recently I recieved many airdropped from new projects of NFT tokens, Some are in good prices
like BAY and XPUNK, but many other NFT tokens are falling and rugged. But I know mostly of NFTs are based on hyped project,
and no one knows what will be the future of them.
Is it better to trade NFT tokens rather than holding it for longterm?
No one can really answer you mate, it's a difficult question and I think majority here will agree. As you have said, there are legit and good project, on the other hand some doesn't have a good price.

And we all know that hype is just hype, it's a fad so sooner or later it will fade because a new hype will come along. So I will say that better do your own investigation and see what NfT tokens are a good hold or not.

2696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: March 03, 2022, 12:11:03 PM

Every fighters dream is to fight Manny and Ugas was very lucky that time that Spence has an eye injury so he replace him make good about himself and upset the legend that night.

That's why there are still gamblers who believed that maybe Ugas can go toe to toe with Spence and have a chance to again upset and unify the belt in this division.

That is just how the game is, someone who you taught will never lose to an underdog, might also lose sometimes. I think these two fighters are not that far from each other because anyone of them can beat each other with enough practice to counter each other's techniques. they gave Spence a high percentage winning this fight but I think he is not gonna be the same since Ugas has been already fought and defeated the legend, Spence is nothing to him unless Spence will gonna surprise us with his unmatchable speed and power to knockout Ugas.
I don't think that Spence has an advantage as far as speed goes, although he is faster than Ugas, but his speed is average for this weight class. But he is known to have a heavy hand, so this will be his tools to try and break Ugas chin. But we have seen that Ugas is very tough mentally so it will be a very close fight and maybe we will see Spence bothered by his eye injury and he will be extra careful to protect it.
2697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: March 03, 2022, 11:30:42 AM
Does he really changed up his behavior? Maybe.. its true that i havent recently seeing that he do make out some trashtalks to provoke whether on his upcoming opponent or neither Inoue.

We can assume that he was just told not to do so or might be, he thinks that if only he's not like that, there will be no problem that happened last December where he failed to show up in the weigh-in because of his viral condition.

Anyhow, trash talk or hitting the opponent with some offensive words is not really necessary.

They can do the talking on the ring, not in exchange of words in the public.

Yeah, maybe someone is the background is advising Casimero to tone down a bit because it doesn't make sense at all to trash talk the likes of Inoue and Donaire. The fight will happen sooner or later. And he should learn from his fellow Filipino, the legendary Manny Pacquiao, who chooses to do the talking inside the ring and not being so arrogant outside and talking trash to his opponent.

I think Casimero has been always like that and people do know him that he always talk a lot even it is already nonsense at all. But we don't know about that now because maybe this time he figured out that it's time to wisen up and speak less and let his actions do the talking, or if that's not the case then his team has told him to be quiet for now and concentrate more about the preparations.
It's not that really effective for him, this kind of trash talking is good for American boxers because that is their native tongue. But if English is not Casimero's first language, every time he opens his mouth, it doesn't sounds right. And that's why he better stop doing it as it is out of context for a Filipino fighter. As you have said, less his boxing skills do the talking.
2698  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The world of sport reacts to the Russian invasion of Ukraine on: March 03, 2022, 10:52:52 AM
Just shows that the world doesn't want a war, so almost all sports governing body has united against Russia and it's hard for Russian athlete.

Of course, this will not obviously stop the war, but it shows that war at this day is no longer welcome regardless of what is the reason behind Putin's invasion.
2699  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin likely won't recover until 2025 on: March 02, 2022, 09:10:07 AM
^^ I think when we did break out out of the $40k barrier, the price will be short term bullish and this is what we've seen so far, going as high as $45k although it didn't hold that much.

The good thing is that the volume speaks for itself, so definitely the next barrier to be broken is $45k and I think we can do it in the next 4 hour time frame.
2700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol - May 7 on: March 02, 2022, 08:21:58 AM

But if Bivol will used his face and will not play defense with Canelo, it will be suicide and he himself will get knock out because Canelo's has power in both hands. Unless he has a granite chin that can hold, but I doubt it because this is a higher weight and boxers do really punch hard.

Unfortunately for Bivol he has not faced a fighter like Canelo, and he is a fighter trained to go toe to toe and rely on his power, there's no way to change how he fights, a fighter will live and die on the way he fights, it all goes up now on how hard he punches and can he get his punches to Canelo's face and body and can he avoid Canelo's attack, he needs to bully the bully here.

True, Canelo is really a different breed of boxer, he really developed himself to be a great champion and can adjust during a fight which is a hallmark of legends in the past. As for Bivol, although he is the LHW champion this is a notch up fight for him. Again, a good paycheck comes with being a great champion but he will definitely do his best not to get knock out by Canelo.
