2681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Momentum Falters as Bitcoin Retreats to $23.6K on: February 17, 2023, 08:21:36 PM
That wasn't even a sink but look at the pricing now, about to break $25k again ~ $24,800. While Ethereum has made it to $1,700, the price was interestingly high again as the recovery was too quick for bitcoin. Every time when bitcoin goes down, it's making it look like it's really down to the bottom part of the market. Well, can't blame the article makers if they're like that. That's how to attract readers to their published articles. The author has to make another article about bitcoin's fast recovery.
2682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 17, 2023, 01:24:57 PM
Oh, alright.
The Chot's list is there as he's still the one to coach the Gilas. But resorting to that idea, he knew that Kelly is already aged and looking at the line up of other teams.
Some from their roster might also be old enough but look at how massive those players are. No doubt with the experience of Kelly and his achievements but they should have chosen better and younger.
That's more ideal contributor to the team and more athletic but if there's no other option then Kelly fits in then.

That's the problem sometimes even in other countries. Since windows qualifying games usually can clash with the player's availability, there should already be a consideration on who's player will be put up. Those players are in the reserve pool.

But that's not a problem regardless if we don't have a complete lineup since we now have a sure slot on the global competition.

Not saying it's fine to lose but either Gilas will win or lose those 2 games here, the PH is already qualified for the World Cup.
Yeah, I remember when Chot said that it's not really a requirement to win when he's justifying the loss of Gilas. But that's not really a point even if there's a secured slot already.
Those who are available will be prioritized for sure and that's up to the management on who's ready on the pool. I'm sure that many of these players on the pool would be glad to represent the country.
2683  Economy / Economics / Re: Cheap food: can you beat this price in your country? on: February 17, 2023, 11:17:00 AM
Just found a restaurant where the individual meal costs only 0,57$! Meal composed by rice, toasted cassava flour and black bean stew with few pieces of pork meats. Feeds one person decently and the taste is good. You can eat the whole month for less than 35$, considering lunch and dinner daily! That is perfect for cutting expenses with food!

Do you know any restaurants which serve cheaper meals than that where you live? It must be a meal, not snacks.
With this menu, depends on someone if he really likes to eat this dish. I can go on for a month with the same meal but provided with some other snacks, I can really survive with that. This is cheaper than the Philippines, what country can you find that meal at that cost?
Here in our country, a regular meal that's not in a regular restaurant would even cost you more than a dollar and that's not even going to suffice your appetite. Everything has gone up because of the inflation.

I thought that I saw some news that Westbrook has begun talks with the Clippers after being given permission by Utah Jazz. Personally, I think the Clippers are the best landing spot for WB right now. He is already established in the city after playing there with the Lakers. The Clippers have lots of shooters that will benefit from Westbrook, and he already established chemistry with Paul George. It will be good to see him play with Kawhi and Paul George.
The development was quick and the articles I shared were made 2 days ago. It seems that he'll be taking Jazz on this case but yeah, there's still an option regardless of the contract that he's with. It seems that he's too easy to be traded when
Looking better if he ended up with CLippers but it looks like it's no longer in the option and this deal was already done.
2685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes a crypto project reliable and trustworthy ? on: February 17, 2023, 09:56:58 AM
In terms of projects, I don't think that luck should be associated with their success. That's what I think and believe that everything should be worked out and they have to do it based on what they're conducting by working on that project.
But we as individuals, I think we tend to believe with luck when we invest on a project that suddenly made us interested on buying it.
That would listening to our emotions and not going by the charts. There are coins worth putting money in like the top five but luck should never be brought into the question when buying crypto.

Projects and how they are developing is a good point. If you look closely you will find that it is more of smoke and mirrors here. Very few actually have been developing properly and they are going to go bankrupt in a few years.

It would be much better to avoid such coins and keep your hands on Bitcoin.
I agree with what you've said in the latter that it's always best to keep on and have bitcoin than any of these projects. But we can't stop to look at some projects when we've got a tiny spare to be released and have it gambled with it since it's affordable amount to lose.

In terms of projects, I don't think that luck should be associated with their success.

In every success there is always a variable factor and it is greatly affected by luck.  Yes success can be predetermined with planning and studying several factors but as i said, there is always a variable factor that is way out of our hands.  So luck can be associated with success on this field.
Well, that's just what I think about successful projects. But I think if we'll ask them, they'll provide answers that will relate to their working ethics and how hard and smartly they've worked with it.

I agree, everything should be planned out and worked out.  Success will not come if we are only waiting, we have to work for it to happen.  So for a project to be successful, the developer must thrive hard and do their best to deliver roadmap at its finest and not just a half-baked one in order to increase their chance of success in the market.

Investors on the other hand can do their research and plan according to what the discovered.  If they are lucky enough that the project developers are serious of developing their project then I can say, the end road will be a successful one.
We see at the beginning developers that are serious with what they're working with. But, it's hard to spot on when they're like at the tail of their success and seeing the demand for the token they've released, that's where the harder part comes because many developers dump their tokens all at once and it's visible based on the project's pricing.
2686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many merchants are worried about high transaction fees on: February 17, 2023, 09:22:58 AM
Many businesses are accepting payments in crypto, apart from other issues the main pain point that hurts them the most is Transaction fees.

Many crypto payments are charging higher transaction fees and what has left in the hand of merchants?

What’s your take on this situation guys?
They haven't seen yet the worst with the fees for these payments. These payment solutions are charged high if it's necessary depending on the network fee. If they've got a fixed fee+commission, that would quite be dependable but I don't think it's really expensive at all.
Well, as for the other and typical payment solutions like those from credit card companies, AFAIK, they're charging more than of crypto transactions provided by a third party company.
2687  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Something like ebay, but with crypto payment on: February 17, 2023, 08:42:40 AM
Actually, I've done that with our local online shopping store named Shopee before but that was like 2 years ago or more. I've paid my transaction there with bitcoin and they've automatically converted the price into our local currency for its pricing.
They've used a third-party service where I have to pay bitcoin converting the amount of my checkout. But, it's so long since I've been with them and AFAIK, they've got international outlets for which you can try to shop. I think if you still cannot find one, you can just go with this link:
Alternatively, you can try the gift card route, see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5208530.0
And try to use bitrefill for its gift cards.

2689  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 17, 2023, 07:31:45 AM
2690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My List of Altcoins - Discussion and Predictions on: February 16, 2023, 11:49:15 PM
Before the craze of meme coins, there were people that have told me to buy shiba inu but I didn't oblige. I just don't like it but if I followed what they've said, I'm sure that I hit big with it.
With all the craze that has happened to the meme coins and market, I still see a lot of people hoping that it will be up again. It's possible that it will be up again but I think it won't be the same as before. I saw this trend with many altcoins that they didn't hit back their past ATH but there is some exception for some altcoins like ETH.
2691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 16, 2023, 11:27:46 PM
Yeah, that's what I've thought of too. But it seems that the news all over him is telling the same thing and it's all about rejection. Looking at the recent news of his transfer to the Utah Jazz, I guess we'll see another tandem of him and JC.
He contributed well to the Lakers and that's expected from him and looking forward to see how it will end up with his development on another team.
I think we'll never see another triple double season for Brody, besides he's ageing as well, he's still got some hoops but it's really declining. Well, he might be fit for the Jazz right now considering they only got two point guards but I think Sexton would be the starter or both of them then put Sexton on SG position.
Well, it's up to them on how they'll adjust these positions that they've got for their roster but sure is, they've got a nice addition and trade through WB.

Westbrook is still good for at least 2 years, but I think what fit him is the role he got in OKC, I mean the alpha of the team, maybe in tandem with someone but he needs to be the dominant player in my opinion.

So not sure if he will be good in Jazz with JC, Jazz seems to be more of a team basketball, sharing the load of both defense and scoring and maybe having Westbrook might chance the balance.
Yeah, that will balance the team and I think that he's one good addition to the team. While most of the players in the team is more being a team player, WB sure can go with that type of play.

We surely did believe in luck when we invest on a project that we will earn profit and I don't think that it is wrong to be like that or to think like that. We all have our ways on what we do either on investing in a project or other things. We sometimes did have our unlucky moments as what shamm posted and it doesn't mean that it is because of the project's luck that we didn't earn profit. I can only say that a project is trustworthy if it continues to exist after it is launched rather than turning into dust.
There's nothing wrong with that but I'm telling about the perspective of running a project, and the developers that are running the projects. Their success relies on how hard working they are and effective the project they're working on is.
It's true that unlucky moments comes to us and that's giving us some bad beats vibes that we think the project itself isn't the one that we should have invested. And from that experience, we're learning a lesson on how to invest properly and ends up with some good upgrade for each individuals like us.

Yeah, most of the big men will be absent on the next window and that's why they even added Williams on the pool even if he's too old enough to be part of it.
I do agree that Mo is a good addition to be considered by them but maybe, they really have considered that but Mo or his management didn't agree with to their wishlist.

Kelly might have the advantage as he's playing for coach Chot that's why instead of Mo' coach Chot list him instead, not sure but I also agree that William's age might not be fit anymore with international games, it will be depend now with how coach Chot and the rest of the coaching group to execute the plays, let's hope for the best!
Oh, alright.
The Chot's list is there as he's still the one to coach the Gilas. But resorting to that idea, he knew that Kelly is already aged and looking at the line up of other teams.

I thought that there are teams interested or will pursue Russell Westbrook. But if the news is true then this might be the start of Westbrook declining and no team might not be interested on him anymore.

It's a big win for the Lakers, Russell a big help for them with 21 points. That's the kind of numbers that he is expected to bring with the Lakers. A couple of good alleyoop between AD and him, and I think AD will be liking their combination as Russell loves to pass.
Yeah, that's what I've thought of too. But it seems that the news all over him is telling the same thing and it's all about rejection. Looking at the recent news of his transfer to the Utah Jazz, I guess we'll see another tandem of him and JC.

For me I will say that new project is trustworthy and good for invest is the review of one past investors it because even if the team behind that project was have a successful project in the past because not all the time that they have a successful project last year or more then now they will be a successful. Because sometime we have our unlucky moment and if that happen then for sure the opposite of success will be in the finish line.
In terms of projects, I don't think that luck should be associated with their success. That's what I think and believe that everything should be worked out and they have to do it based on what they're conducting by working on that project.

2696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen in a deflationary hoarding scenario? on: February 16, 2023, 06:56:27 PM
Now what would happen if people did start suddenly hoarding? I mean HODL is just a huge meme at this point but what if EVERYONE actually did that? What would things look like then?
Dealing with it still going to end up with the law of supply and demand. There will for sure high call for its demand if the majority are hoarding it. But let's deal with the reality that not everyone is going to hold it forever.
We'll eventually go to sell and even of how die-hard we are for bitcoin, it's inevitable that we'll all have our own pace of selling it for our own needs and goals for which we may be required of selling some or all that we have.
2697  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Holding could be better on: February 16, 2023, 06:25:28 PM
It's not just the long term holders or investors get the high advantage. Short term investors get it as well as they're taking advantage of the market and if we're too stable for quite a while, they're trading within timeframes that they're comfortable with and sees the profit from it.
That's why both really are profitable but you have to choose on which side you're more profitable, on this case, I'm more profitable by being a long term holder and sees the advantage on it.
A long-term hold will always beat a short-term trade. Even successful traders say that before they started making money in trading, they had long periods when they lost money.

If a trader buys some asset and at some point he decides to sell it, and the coin will grow, then in fact this is already a loss of profit compared to the hold. In addition, trading is time consuming, the crypto market never stops and it can be very tiring to keep track of a trade.

For myself, I chose hold, it does not take much of my time, I buy bitcoin and send it to a cold wallet and this is where my work ends, then bitcoin works and hold does its job.
We're the same as we've chosen to be holders, not just holders but long-term holders. It's because we see what we can do with it and it's saving us time.
Unlike being focused on trading, day trading, we can do other things that we want to do. Also, we know that trading is tough and it's not going to suit everyone's ideas and liking.
There will be some time that you'll think that trading is more profitable but, if you try it and didn't become successful with it then you'll just be back to holding.
2698  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Question] Regarding the use of market cap in investing on: February 16, 2023, 05:58:31 PM
2699  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 16, 2023, 05:27:49 PM
Tama ka at more bondings to come pa sa kanilang dalawa.

Hindi pa lang talaga natin sigurado kung for good or for long term ba yung pag stay ni Kyrie or meron pa syang ibang plano after makalayas sa poder ng Nets.
2700  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is risky, be conscious on: February 15, 2023, 11:54:49 PM
One major reason why one needs to be very careful while trading is the emotional hallucination involved when there is a loss. Many people believe that during trading, risk is one major thing that one must take, but when the risk taken finally materialises into reality and brings loss, they suffer heart pressure which sometimes make them lose their mind and sometimes cause depression.
Risk is always involved when we trade and when we invest, that's why it will never be one and is always present. And when we say about risk, there's a tendency that you really will lose and at the same time, you'll get some fine chances to profit.

It is therefore good to take note of the fact that failure is part of success, because Everytime that one fails, there is an experience gathered, and that experience makes them do well in their next trading.
That's so true, no success person that didn't go through with failures in the hustle that they make. Learn from failures and mistakes and those losses incurred treat them as your enrollment ticket fee.
