I grew up in an atheist house. My parent's never forced their beliefs on us, and all 3 of my brothers have been to a fellowship of Christian athletes service a time or 2 in high school, how ever this was just for social reason, to see friends etc. So none of us where really introduced to it.
All my bothers and I went to college for different fields I'm science, and I think learning more helped to solidify the fact God isn't really, only a human construct to explain things that can't be explained now.
What has really hit it home for me has been my career as a firefighter. And all of us have had a few bad calls, but when you see kids die, I believe there is absolutely no divine intervention. I hear people say "everything is for a reason" "God has a plan" well if he's so damn powerful he could sure fix his shitty plan, and if he loves us so much I cannot see why he'd let a 7 year old be the only causality in a van accident while riding with his family of six.

Why do you not consider the fact that all people die, not only some kids in fires. The reason why all people die is, they doubt God's ability to keep them alive... some by not even accepting that He exists. Believe in God. Believe in Jesus salvation. This will allow you to be saved for eternal life. Too bad you were not brought up with God in your life. It would make it a whole lot easier to see the logic of His existence.  |

OR, totally oblivious! god does exist. go deep into the woods far from city light and look up into the night sky. all that you see is only a tiny tiny tiny fraction of god. is it any wonder he is oblivious to our existence?  God is not oblivious to us at all. He is so close to us that often all we see or feel is what we think is ourself. Cause and effect show that God is aware of everything in the universe, from the gigantic universe, itself, to the tiniest quark or lepton... and even the God particle. |

After long and secular debates about atheism, the need for a separate topic about God's existence has arisen.
There are amongst us a group of people who believe that while there is no proof that God exists, there also is no proof that He doesn't exist.
Please share your argument in a logical manner and abstain from saying things like "I'm right because I'm right".
I know that this, in the end, is a philosophical discussion so only logical are welcome.
It will always be an argument if God do exist. But its really not a big deal here just respect what you believe. Nature shows that God exists, and science proves it. |

I do not recognize any religion, but of all I like Buddhism. This religion is not based on coercion to faith and teaches man to know himself.

The complexity of the universe shows that if there were two or more, they would have to be acting as one, just to make things work. Many people know God in their hearts. Many religions talk about the true God. The Christian religion (not necessarily the Christians who belong to the Christian religion) is the only religion that speaks about God accurately, even though many other religions understand some things about him accurately. For example. The atheism religion has people who try to (unknowingly) set themselves up as God by proclaiming (falsely) that God doesn't exist. So, when they try to set themselves up as God, they proclaim that He exists. In addition, many of them understand certain factual science. They understand part of what God created. So, even they have some minor accuracy in their religion. |

The point is this. Until you do hands-on experiments yourself, there is no absolute proof of flat-earth or globe earth for you. And even if you do the experimentation you need to be sure that you have done them correctly. The second point is, we trust all kinds of people in life. We trust the operation of the computer that we barely know how to program a little, just to be on this forum. Using the second point, there are vast numbers of people who have determined that the earth is a globe, through experimentation. Many of these have written their results in books in ways that others can do the same experimentations. Flat earth science not only doesn't have complete and accurate experimentation, but it also doesn't have the many thousands who do and use globe earth science all the time. Believe what you like. But logic and science show that flat earth is false. |

It's true that America had a lot violence in the past, specially during Vietnam war and in early 60s.
Recently, we could see a lot demonstrations because of relationship between white policeman and black man.
However, when we compare America with some other countries, like Syria, Iraq, Somalia etc, there is no so much violence in the states.
Democracy is not perfect but it works.
Maybe some people can't accept Trump as president now but he will be accepted during time.
Don't judge your country to much. In many other countries situation is much worse.
The United States was not meant to operate by democracy. It was meant to operate by freedom. Democracy is when a slightly greater majority rules over a slightly smaller minority. The educated 12-person jury in the USA, Britain, Canada, Australia, Belize, much of India and Bangladesh, New Zealand, and a few other places, can nullify all any and all laws. Consider the recent Oregon win of the Bundys. Nobody thought the trial would end in complete not guilty. But that is what the jury did. |

Some think guns give security. And there is a relation between guns and security, but it is the opposite of what gun owners think. Someone I know had guns in her home, and now she is dead, her son is dead, and 5 other people are dead. That is the kind of security that guns provide. A gun in the home is 6 times as likely to kill a family member as an intruder. That is the kind of security that guns provide.

I don't think there is a 'perfect religion'. I just feel like the best one is the religion you got inside of your mind and your soul. There are dozens of religions worldwide, and each of them is promoting different ideas. The last time I've been to a church was when I was around 7 years old. Since then, I preferred to just believe in what I feel. I don't know, I'd rather pray in my own house with my own words and disconnect somehow from the responsibilities I have for a few moments and be there alone with my God.
Of course there isn't a perfect religion. The closest that we can come is(are) the religion(s) that support and actually offer eternal life in joy. The only religions that do this are the ones that promote Jesus salvation. There is no other way to joyful eternal life than through Jesus salvation. |
