2721  Bitcoin / Press / Re: The Good Wife Season 3 episode 13 on: November 21, 2012, 06:31:44 PM
I hope they will make a BTC plot on Big Bang Theory that would get to the right people.

Something about Howard using the Universities super computer to mine Bitcoins and Sheldon developing his much superior Alt-Chain only to be 51% attacked would be awesome. (Not going to happen, I know)
THIS.

If I knew how to contact the writers of the show, I would ask them about it.
2722  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Generating thousands of addresses on: November 21, 2012, 06:29:48 PM
Fair warning, running the QT client begins to get sluggish after about 15k addresses, and is nearly unusable after 120k or so.
2723  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: November 21, 2012, 06:01:14 PM
I thought they're saying End of January now?
They're saying all current pre-orders will be delivered by then, not that that is when they will start delivering them.
2724  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: November 21, 2012, 05:50:51 PM
There's really only been two delays so far.

First delay brought it from late October to early November.  Second delay brought it from early November to late November/early December.

Hopefully there's not a 3rd...
2725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Automatically sweep arriving funds from one or more private keys? on: November 20, 2012, 10:59:34 PM
I think mtgox does this for you when you sweep an address. Check it out.
So they'll do it for you if coins are received in the future, as well as coins sitting at the address at the time you submit it to them?
2726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Automatically sweep arriving funds from one or more private keys? on: November 20, 2012, 10:48:22 PM
Assume I have a private key or collection of private keys, and I am afraid they have been compromised by a third party.  I am also expecting payments at an unknown time in the future to arrive to one or more of the private keys.

Is there any trustworthy software or website that automatically forwards any bitcoins received at one or more addresses to a new address, as soon as possible?  Perhaps even by increasing the fee a bit beyond the normal 0.0005 BTC to have a better chance at pushing through a transaction before someone else did?
2727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Meanwhile on MY car.... on: November 20, 2012, 10:42:29 PM
My  plates have the first bits for one of my addresses. Ok, that was a lie. They're actually just a random DMV-selected alphanumeric string, but there's no harm in pretending, is there?
Now that's something doable with 6 letters..!
18TKN.  No one would have a clue what it meant.

I kind of meant no one driving on the road would know...
2728  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC plugin for Wordpress on: November 20, 2012, 10:17:45 PM
"There are many e-commerce plugins for WordPress, and one of them offers support for BitPay."
http://bitcoinmagazine.net/wordpress-accepts-bitcoin/

So yes, at least one cart plugin has Bitcoin support already. (https://github.com/bitpay/wordpress-ecommerce-plugin)
2729  Economy / Goods / [WTB] Casascius Coins Version 1 on: November 20, 2012, 10:10:48 PM
I'm looking for a handful of 1 BTC Casascious Coins Version 1.  Anyone want to sell theirs, or know where some are still available for sale?
2730  Economy / Speculation / Re: to buy or sell bitcoin now? on: November 20, 2012, 08:43:16 PM
My inclination is buy and hold.  There's no reason I would sell right now - too much good news lately, including the wordpress acceptance, possible reddit acceptance, Google potentially implementing it into their wallet, etc.  Bitcoin is not stopping.  I am bull.
2731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kim Dotcom bought 5 million dollars worth of bitcoins? on: November 20, 2012, 07:02:24 PM
Negative ghostrider.
2732  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [BOUNTY] 1BTC for hardware wallet name on: November 20, 2012, 07:00:36 PM
Ok so, piglet is funny and all, but am I the only one who has trouble thinking that I'd actually buy a product called a "piglet"?  It would be downright embarrassing to own just based on the name itself.  It reminds me too much of Disney, cartoons, and kid things.  I'm an adult male - I don't want to own something called a piglet...

Lockr is a way better name IMO.  I am serious when I say that calling it a piglet would make me reconsider the plan to purchase one.
2733  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which pool is best for 1275000MH/s ? on: November 20, 2012, 04:27:20 PM
Solo minining or setup you own pool.

Why not take the advantages a pool have?
He will have 127.5Gh/s.

You answer suggest all ASIC miners go do solo mining...
He will have 1.275 TH/s, actually.
2734  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW CAN I USE CLIENT'S COMPUTERS TO MINE BIT COINS? on: November 19, 2012, 11:12:18 PM
Do your client's computers have modern dedicated graphics cards installed?  ATI 58XX , 6XXX, or 7XXX series?  If not, it is not worth your trouble.  You'll make pennies a day while your client pays dollars a day for electricity.  If so, it may be worth your trouble, but only for a few weeks, until ASICs ship out.  Once ASICs are up and running, graphics cards will be just as old and slow as CPU's are now, and you'll again be back to making pennies a day while your client pays dollars a day for electricity.
2735  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is stealing Bitcoins illegal? on: November 19, 2012, 10:53:52 PM
I'm guilty of posting in it, but this whole thread is asinine.  Dozens of hypothesis of why stealing bitcoins wouldn't be illegal based on technicalities of what a bitcoin is by armchair legal scholars.
I think in instances like this, people just need to take a step back and think about the purpose of laws, and what the reasonable thing to do would be.  Is it reasonable to allow someone to get away with stealing other people's Bitcoins?  No.  Therefore, a law will be enacted against such theft, if one does not already exist that can be reasonably applied.

Whether a law currently exists or not is largely irrelevant - a law (or at the very least, a new precedent by judgement) will be created if necessary to ensure people's bitcoins are not stolen.
2736  Economy / Goods / Re: Anyone Interested in a NEW 100% Genuine Coach Handbag/ Purse for BTC? on: November 19, 2012, 10:39:53 PM
I'm interested if you can sell it to me for ~$40.
Sorry, you might want to look for counterfeits.
Thank for the offer though
Not a problem, sorry it's a lowball but it's all we could really spend at this point.

2738  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: November 19, 2012, 08:58:27 PM
It's really pretty simple to figure this out IMO.

- BFL wanted to fly people to their plant in late october/early november to see their prototypes.
- Their prototype batch of chips didn't work, but they still wanted to show off pics, so they did.
- They ordered up a new batch of chips, this time enough to do a full production run, with fixes in place to correct the issues from the first prototype.
- They delayed the fly-people-to-their-plant thing until they get the new batch of fixed chips in.
- As they are on a second revision of the chip, in all likelihood, it won't have problems.  They will time it so that the two peeps flying in will be able to see a working product running on 2nd-revision chips.  They will also begin assembly that week, assembling enough units to ship out the first batch (maybe a hundred units or something?).

To me, all the evidence points to them fully expecting working prototypes to be in-hand at the end of October, but then something unexpected came up.  I believe that unexpected thing was a bad run of chips, and I believe that's why the only thing they are waiting on for assembly is the new batch of chips.
2739  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Building a Bitcoin ATM. Should I bother? Demo Video! on: November 19, 2012, 08:39:34 PM
I like it!

Another idea is, for those who own or manage vending machines, stock them up with 0.1 BTC paper wallets and charge $2.00 each.  If the price of BTC changes to > $20, then break them down into 0.05 BTC paper wallets, etc.

I would so do this if I owned a vending machine.  Heck, I'm thinking of buying a vending machine just to do it.  Lots of them for sale (even active ones) on craigslist, etc.
2740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll - How are you contributing for bitcoin expansion? on: November 19, 2012, 08:16:46 PM
Dang, I was going to select the top 5.
